One of the sites on my blogroll posted this video that apparently comes from YouTube. I watched it and couldn’t stop laughing. So I figured that you would all enjoy the video. It is only a couple of minutes long and points directly to the madness that is going on in Washington today…

A short post tonight. I have spent ample time on schoolwork and answer a hockey loving fan who has apparently taken a few too many concussions in the Puppeteer thread. As I find it to be 4:49 am as I start this I will be writing fast and furious so that I can at least get a little sleep. The post I mentioned played right into the conversation that I was having with Revolution2010 this afternoon about the state of our country. I have talked a lot about educating our friends and acquaintances on the facts of government and the agendas out there from the two big parties. I have talked a lot the last couple of nights about the move towards socialism in America.

So I was perusing the Fox Forums, as I like to do, much to the dismay of Bob the Builder, who doesn’t like intelligent conversation to happen unless he sets the standards. And I ran across an article by Glenn Beck. If you don’t know who he is, you should. The guy is hilarious. He is also a bit of a fear monger and is prone to going off on tangents. But he is effective and he has the pulse of Americans pretty well measured. HE is angry these days, but his anger manifests as honesty, good or bad. He wrote a piece about Obama being a mad genius. I wanted to echo his thoughts here because they were dead on….

You say you want a revolution? Me too. I have used the word early and often on this site because I am good and pissed off. Wait… that sounds a bit too angry. How about this… I am less than pleased with the outcome of recent electoral processes and slightly dissatisfied with the direction of the two primary political parties represented in today’s national political spectrum. Ah, FRACK IT. I am pissed off. Who am I kidding? I am a little bitter, a little fired up, a little less wealthy, a little more kicked around, a little bit country and and little bit Rock n Roll. Those last two would make a great song… nah, it would never work.

So a review of the Chosen One’s stirring speech is coming soon, maybe as a second posting tomorrow night. I already have tomorrow night’s posting written, and it will be a good one titled “American Revolution Part Deux”, but I digress. What I want to pull from last night’s farce is his bold promise amid the economic spendulus bill’s passage that he will “cut the deficit in half over the next 4 years”. That is a pretty bold thing to say just a week after you signed into law the largest spending bill in America’s history, a mere $787 Billion. It is a really bold statement given the White House’s estimate that they will have a budget shortfall of 1.5 Trillion dollars this year alone. That is more than triple last year’s record $484 Billion.

Hope and Change, Hope and Change, HOPE AND CHANGE!!! If we say it enough times perhaps we will actually see some of it. But let’s be honest, we aren’t seeing much hope coming from the new administration are we? I have documented the doom and gloom coming from the President. As far as change, it sure seems like the only change is the party affiliation of those who are screwing us most. We can continue to click our ruby red slippers together and chant “There’s no place like Hope and Change” until our feet bleed, but we have to face up to the fact that the American public got duped again.

As part of my daily rituals, I routinely go out and seek other blogs to find out what people are saying. I have been struggling a bit lately with figuring out exactly where I wanted to go with this blog, whether I was going to push Libertarianism, simply give daily reports on current news, or maybe begin writing daily poems dedicated to the trees. I realized that last one might lose me some of my valuable readers, so I ruled it out quickly. But really, how do I want to proceed. I have found one common thread in what I read out there and I think that it may provide me an answer for where I go next….

I have to say that I was really disappointed by the statements made recently by the first black US Attorney General, Eric Holder. Allow me to just be up front about this… I don’t like Eric Holder in the first place. He was a horrible selection to be the AG. Perhaps The Messiah’s worst pick of the bunch, which is really bad because The Messiah has made some BAD picks, including several who had to didn’t bother to pay the taxes they want to prosecute us for not paying.

By request I have bumped this post back up towards the top of the page. The discussions have been good thus far and I want them to continue. I originally posted this on February 3, but will try to keep it closer to the top as long as people like. As those who have been along for the last four months know, this journey started with my realization that the Republican Party no longer represented to me what the Party used to. I was feeling a bit neglected by my party and embarrassed by their actions. So I left them and began seeking a better way forward because I felt that a better way forward was not what they were interested in. We have explored the Libertarian Platform, which seems pretty solid to me. But I can’t get the Republican disappointments out of my head. The selection of Michael Steele as the new Chairman of the RNC got me thinking….

As with the “Direction of the Republican Party” thread, this one has been extremely active so I have moved back up towards the top of the page. This was originally posted February 20. Many of you know that I started this blog as a way to ferret out my beliefs and start providing some viewpoints that I feel are important. The “Direction of the Republican Party” post has been far and away the most read article I have written. So now I want to discuss another option that is out there on the table. The Libertarian party easily has the most solid platform of the bigger parties. So I want to talk with everyone about whether they are up to the task of really operating on the big stage. So far they have progressed only as far as AAA in the minor leagues. They show promise. But will they find that they need a little more movement on that fast ball if they want to make it in the big leagues?

I have posted the thread on the 7 Democrats that crossed their party lines and voted no on the ridiculous economic spendulus bill. I hailed them for holding to their beliefs in the face of tremendous pressure from their party. It is only fair that I now do the same for the Republican Senators who refused to vote the way that their party demanded that they vote. This is not an endorsement of the stances that they took. I hated the bill. But I do think that these three took a bit more of a chance than even the Democrats from the House did.

I started this post a couple of weeks ago. It sat in my rough drafts section as I tackled other issues and offered my thoughts on the stimulus and other topics. The sad part is that when I started it, there were 11 Democrats who had stood their ground and not let the party dictate what they believed to be true. We have since seen the passage of the bill, and the final vote. The good news: 7 stuck to their guns and did what they felt was right regardless of party pressures that I am sure were quite demanding. The bad News: 5 others rolled over and showed their belly to Queen Nancy. But I wanted to put these guys out there so that you all knew which 7 in Congress held to their beliefs rather than their party’s beliefs.

Last night I discussed the fact that too often the true anarchist bases argument on government only exists through violence. I feel like I made my point, although the anarchists aren’t going to accept that. But we can argue that point in that thread. I promised last night that tonight I would post my thoughts on what needs to happen in America for us to get back in control of the government. This is supposed to be the government by the people and for the people. Washington has lost sight of that. In fact I believe there is actually a poster behind the House Speaker’s chair that says “By the Party, For the Party”

I have noticed that in many of the conversations that take place here, there is a persistent play by some who oppose all government. That play is to jump up and end every argument by claiming that government’s only purpose is violence. It doesn’t matter what the debate begins being about, it always ends with that statement. And it ends at that point for a very different reason than the reasons it should end. I decided to once again put forth my vision for where America needs to go in order to take back our country.

It seems to me that Democrats are being a bit bitchy these days. They are like that girl you used to date, who was a complete social retard. You dumped her when you found her rifling through your sock drawer looking for some kind thing you did wrong. Now she still tracks your moves and calls each girl you date and tells her what an asshole you are. In other words, she puts a lot of effort into proving you are bad rather than say… cleaning up her own kitchen. That is the Democrat today…

I had actually heard about this story a couple of days ago and it peaked my interest. It was from Rush Limbaugh so I took it with a grain of salt and thought I would look into it when I had a bit of time. Then all the sudden I heard three or four members of Congress mention it, which at least validated it wasn’t a Rush fantasy. So I started digging a bit and did not know quite what to make of what I found. It seems that a significant amount of money was mysteriously withdrawn from American Money Market Accounts back in September. I don’t mean like someone meant to withdraw $500 and hit zero two extra times and accidentally withdrew $50,000. That’s child’s play….

Sorry for my absence for a few days folks. Had Valentines Day with my wife and my best friend and his wife in town for the weekend and unfortunately my blog fell to a distant third for a couple days to spending time with the people that matter so much to me (not that you, my faithful readers, do not matter to me). So it seems that the financial companies that we watched paraded before Congress recently actually had a pretty solid insurance policy against getting in any real trouble. Furthermore, those trustworthy folks in Congress have been shown to have something other than America’s best interest at heart when they bailed out all the banks.

This has been a topic that has popped onto and off of people’s radars for the last couple of years. But now that a certain party has control of both Houses and the White House, they are beginning to do what what most of us knew they would do. They are taking every single agenda item they want and forcing it through to law while no one can stop them. The Democrats have made it clear that they are going to make the move to re-institute the so called “Fairness Doctrine”. They claim they just want to make the talk radio circuit fair to the poor liberals who don’t have a voice. And I sympathize with the poor liberals. I mean without talk radio they really are doomed. They simply don’t have any way to be able to reach the American public with their message of togetherness and bi-partisanship. It just isn’t fair.

I know that I may be preaching to the choir a bit here, as those who read every day from my nuggets of wisdom (or madness depending on your leanings) are obviously paying attention and interested in politics. However, there are far too many who aren’t paying attention any more. The election is over. They did their part. They can say they voted and feel they have done their civic duty. I won’t get into the fact that they voted for whichever flawed side without researching so they didn’t actually do their civic duty. But the job isn’t done here, and we need to start rallying some damn troops folks…..

So about 4 months ago, this journey into the blogging world began with Revolution calling me and talking about politics. We had just witnessed the election of a new President and realized that Congress was in the complete control of the Democrats. We were disgusted by the Republican Party and were interested in exploring the Libertarians. During one of these discussions we were talking about the so called “Blue Dog” Democrats when I said there was one to watch…

So I have to tell everyone, I watched a disturbing video this evening on a certain conspiracy theory. I can’t get the information provided in it reconciled in my head just yet. I won’t subject you to it just yet because I have to be able to process it first and see if I can poke holes in the theory like I can most theories. As a result, I simply don’t know if I can free my mind up enough to write tonight. But I was jumping around to the sites of those who’s blogs I like to read and stumbled onto Revolution2010’s site which directed me to MadMom’s site….

Guest commentator Black Flag can appreciate the idea of playing what you got. It seems the Democrats in Congress, however, have throw more than a couple jokers into the deck over the last couple of weeks. So I was stumbling around checking things out today and I stumbled upon this little tidbit. It seems the Democrats are negotiating on terms to increase their power through additional representation in Congress…

I just wanted to make sure that everyone sees this and takes a read. I was over at Revolution2010’s site a bit ago and read the most intriguing post about the census and the chess game that is being played in order for Democrats to gain seats in Congress through yet another joker in the deck. They are using this new found power to make every quick move they can to change all the rules to stack the deck in their favor. Jump over and read it real quick and leave her some comments. Another bit of levity here as that is needed every now and then lest we all go insane debating government. A friend of mine shared this with me the other night. The video is hysterical and there is a link to it at the bottom for those that want to watch it as opposed to reading the transcript here. It seems that Representative Ted Poe from Texas has an issue with government putting their hands into everything, especially the federally mandated dependence on foreign lighting. As I have said, he is becoming my favorite Congressman for a reason. It is well worth watching just for his rant. But if you choose to watch, watch the whole 5 minutes.

OK, let’s just be honest with what we are going to do here in this post. I am going to begin the post by framing this in a political way that literally makes fun of the economic stimulus bill. As you are all well aware, I am pretty fed up with the representation, or lack thereof, that “we the people” are getting from our elected officials in Washington. Someone gave me a link to a video the other day and I found it hilarious. I will be posting it soon so that everyone can enjoy it. The speech is by Congressman Ted Poe, a Republican from the 2nd District in Texas. Congressman Poe may be my new favorite Representative. He simply tells it like it is and that is a bit refreshing. Here is a sample of his speech on the floor of the house…

Those of you who have dealt with the government in any fashion, especially the military veterans out there, have heard that phrase a million times. It is used to describe the government process. Be fast and efficient now so that the government can then sit on its collective laurels and make you wait. In the military it is the equivalent of being told to show up for a 3:00 pm doctors appointment at 11:15 am. And we are hearing it every single day in the new Obama administration. And there is a reason for that.

I was having a conversation the other night about the blogs out there and the discussions that take place on them. We were discussing the differences between the “democrat” arguments and the “republican” arguments. We came up with a few thoughts I figured I would share. While not universal, obviously, the traits discussed do seem to dominate the blogs. And they are a bit disappointing. What disappoints even more is the “one-issue voter” syndrome that is either vehemently denied or loyally embraced by so many people. That just makes zero sense.

It is good to see that the members of Congress, both past and present, are held accountable for their actions. We all can take solace in the fact that even a former Senate Democratic leader is not above the law. He doesn’t pay his taxes and he gets carted off to jail just like the rest of us. Hold on my wife is interrupting me again…. What!? He isn’t going to jail? He was selected to be the Secretary of what? What frackin idiot picked him for that? Oh. OK, well my wife just informed me that Mr. Daschle is NOT going to jail….
