A little about me. My name is USWeapon. I am a political junkie. I am from a small town and I miss the small town kindness and self reliance that made this country great. I am a proud veteran of the United States Army. I married a beautiful woman and we live happily in North Carolina. She is professional and intelligent, and none of that explains why she picked me. I have a 17 year old son that is as smart as any kid I have ever known and who I couldn’t be more proud of. My wife and I live a good life, within our means, in a nice house with nice cars (in her case: the tank).
I couldn’t be happier with my life. But I couldn’t be more disappointed in the mentality that has seeped into my fellow Americans. The sense of entitlement, the dependence on government, the total lack of self accountability. It literally disgusts me. What happened to the mentality that persisted in 1787, when a nation was born from the passion, self-reliance, dignity, honor, and pride of its people?
We need to bring that back. We need to shake people up and make them realize what has been done to them. We need to educate people and pull back the curtain so they can see the impotent little man pretending to be Oz. Congress no longer serves the people. No one in those positions are the people any of us would choose as a representative of us, yet we pretend that we have made that choice.
I look forward to sharing this journey with all who want to come along. This blog is about learning and discussing and finding the path the get America in better shape than it is now. It is a great outlet for me to discuss politics openly (which allows me to keep them out of the workplace). I am open to ideas on what topics to cover so if you have some, put them in into an email and send them to me. I will add them to the topic list so that one of the phenomenal authors here can cover them. Additionally, I am always looking to improve my blog or help you in your endeavors (after all you are helping me in mine by coming to my blog!).

Absolutely send it to every one you know! It is meant to be for everyone. I am hoping to get millions of readers and commenters, lol. This is meant to be a public thing that everyone is welcome on. Most of the people that have posted and read it are people I don’t know. So pass it on, and encourage them to pass it on! As for getting together, that would be cool. I am entering the busy season at work and finishing up another degree, so time is limited for the moment, but I graduate in March. I can have a life again at that point.

1. LIFE is the most important issue for me. If a candidate has little or no concern for the first of our guaranteed rights, why would he/she care about anything else? I think you will agree that the Democrat Party silences those who would speak for Life.
In conscience I cannot vote for someone who supports the killing of the Unborn. Who will be next?
2. I believe:
Everyone has an obligation to contribute something to society. We are not ‘owed’ anything.
We need to first look to ourselves to solve our own problems, then seek help elsewhere.
Legislation ought to be simple: one item; NO pork.
Principles, not money, ought to determine the outcome of an election. (It seems we were continually reminded of how much money each candidate was raising. WHY was that important?)

You seem to really have a unique way of presenting the issues. Straight to the point an dblunt without making a member of either party feel as though they don’t have a voice on your blog. I like it a lot.
That being said I would like to see a couple of things discussed here. For one, democrats seem to expect republicans to play nice and support the new president regardless because he won. They didn’t do that for the last president. Write about that double standard. I would also like to see you write your thoughts on welfare and the welfare system. Another idea would be taking a hard look at the pharma industry. They get blamed for a lot of price gouging and I personally believe that they are ripping us off.

Got your comment at my blog, thanks for taking the time. Thank you also for adding my blog to your roll, I have done the same. My own personal thought about joining the Libertarian party is that right now they aren’t strong enough on their own for me to join. Although I have some disagreements with the Republican party, I feel it is better to join with them for now and work on thsoe areas where there is agreement. To try and push smaller gov’t and more personal responsibility within a party that has a chance makes more sense to me than try and work a party that doesn’t get on the ballot. But that’s just one fella’s opinion.

I am finishing a college math class right now, and some student discussions are aiming towards rewriting math curriculum to disinclude any math beyond consumer arithmetic. A select few are drafting letters to congress to persuade changes to public schools so that kids are not exposed to such “useless math”.
The reasoning? We have low test scores compared to other nations, and that is primarily in math, so let’s make math easier! How about let’s make competition vibrant in the educational landscape so that more students excel and become engineers and scientists?

I found your link on a blog on Fox news. A well written article by a man who has served in the military for 5 administrations. I enjoyed the article and wanted to praise the man. I started reading the blogs and was sickened by the “kids”, lord I hope it is “kids”, commenting in random blathers of hate.
Anyways, your comment was an island of intelligence in an otherwise desert of same. So here I am, and having read an article or two, I am impressed not only with your writing, but also with your thought processes. I hope I take the time to return, as I have enjoyed reading on your site.

I taught military students and came to the above conclusion after my fist “class”. I added to the above,
“If you are willing to learn, I am willing to teach. If you think or know you are stupid, then make sure the door hits you in the backside on the way out.”
Learning is a life-long experience. When a person closes their mind to learning, then they have already died in this life. There is NO educating or arguing with “stupid”. You will never change their minds or the hearts until they get hurt and STUPID should hurt – expotentially!
We will not win this “fight for justice to take back America” until we can take out the “theives, crooks, scammers, irresponsible bullies, and meglomanics” that has embedded themselves in our system.

I am a radical conservative. I do believe in peace through strength. Having been there, I hate war. However, I think I am intelligent enough to know that there have and will be times in Human history where war is necessary. Right now is one of those times in history. I have been to many other countries and know how governments treat those others. Up until recently, ours was the best. Not perfect as no form of government will ever be perfect. That is the Human condition. We are not perfect, nor is anything we have ever built. I do not expect our government to always get it right, however I do not want them to be constantly wrong either!
Reading some of your posts, I believe that you are a dreamer, a wishful thinker. I believe that you have fallen under the Libertarian spell of smoke and mirrors. If you believe drug use is a victimless crime, then you are either on drugs, drunk, or just plain stupid. Go talk to a geneticist. The same with abortions. Talk to a gynocologist. I only wish that those who advocate unfettered drug use and abortions could see what my eyes have seen. Libertarians need to drop that line of thinking.
A very good friend of mine is deep into the libertarian party in his home state. The reason he became involved, as he told me, was he wanted the Government out of his thoughts, his wallet, and his bedroom – not necessarily in that order. I can understand that completely.
I believe that the income tax laws should be totally redone – burn what it is now and start over. Something like a flat rate tax set as a percentage that cannot ever be changed. I believe that Government cannot ever legislate ones thoughts, ie; these so-called hate crimes. Focus should be on the crime, not the thought behind it. I believe that every law abiding adult who has never been convicted of a felony should be able to carry a fully loaded concealed firearm. I believe that consenting adults should not be bothered in the privacy of their own home. I believe that one should be able to choose the religion of their own choosing, or no religion at all if that be their choice. In my youth, we said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in the public schools that I attended – that requirement should not be a crime(it gave us a sense of nationality). I believe we should have a national language. I do not believe in hyphenated nationality. I do not care what color a persons skin is, or where in this world their ancestors came from.
That is just some of my political and personal beliefs. I have found that in recent times, my beliefs are so far off those of the rest of this nation, some folks think I should be labeled a criminal.
Enough of my venting. Thank you for providing this blog. I find it rather informative. Keep up the good work, and don’t worry about being a dreamer – some of the greatest men in Human history were dreamers.

Nice to find a place of like minded folks.
I have been just sick for the past few years about the NAIS.
I never see it mentioned in mainstream media and hope you will check this out.
NAIS (National Animal Identification System)is an incredible BIG BROTHER program of livestock control and tracking by the USDA. The development of this program spans at least the Clinton and Bush years, maybe more. It has too many implications to list here and will effect even those that own only 1 horse, or 1 chicken for example. There is NO justification for this program, although the USDA is using fear tactics (Mad Cow disease, bird flu, etc) to find an excuse to ultimately control our food supply and put it in the hands of big corporate factory farms.
NAIS would ultimately require mandatory premises registration and ID tagging of livestock type animals. If an animal leaves the premises for any reason, the owner must report to the USDA with in 24 hours. Non compliance is subject to a $1000 per DAY fine. Livestock may be confiscated at the whim of the USDA at any time.
This is something that needs blasted from all the media outlets as it will affect the food prices of consumers and create a government controlled food supply. Given the track record of our government, I want them out of my barnyard, pasture, chicken house and OUT OF MY LIFE!
If they want to worry about food safety and traceability, let them scrutinize imports, where the real danger is.

I believe “we the people” need to temporarily put aside left and right issues and take our country back. THEN we can deal with pet issues. I’m amazed that so many don’t see that our entire political system and government is so warped, corrupt and just plain asinine that we are losing freedoms day by day. Both parties are guilty of overspending and do so blatantly.
Even though I’m an Independent, I lean pretty far right, but seriously, I am so SICK of hearing these politicians carry on about how they will get control of Washington and it will be a brand new day….REALLY? And for those that have been in Congress for decades, you suddenly have it figured out and are going to FIX IT? We voters have become huge sponges sucking up lies in election years.
I no longer think a revolution can take place at the voting booth, just too much of the same old, same old. A massive organization and support of new candidates by write in votes is the only way I can see out of our mess.
Too late to clean up Washington, we need to clean it OUT and start over.
Oh and to Michele O…..I’ve always been proud of my country, but FOR THE FIRST TIME I’m truly TERRIFIED FOR MY COUNTRY.

We are witnessing our country transitioning from a society we were all very proud of, and still are for that matter, to one that has many thinking how we will survive in such a crazy world. We see politicians demean our very existence for their own self serving needs and desires. Hopefully the majority of Americans will soon wake up and see that the votes they made for “change” can be reversed in 4 years and we can once again be a country we are ALL proud of.

Welcome to the site. I like to think of the site as sort of a melting pot of opinions. I would like to see more liberal minded folks who are willing to have honest and respectful discussions on the issues, but I think they will come eventually. i hope that we can reverse the trends that we have seen over the last 20 years and begin a transition back towards being the country you describe. I like to think that a site like this offers a place for people to figure out how to do that.

However, many of those people are so set in their ways with biased thinking that they really fail to see the whole picture. - I am fleeing the Republican party and checking out the Libertarians. However, my first foray on the nhliberty.org forum site revealed namecalling, back-biting, and general immaturity from some members. Please let them know it’s a terrible 1st experience with them and, really, if I’m going to put my time/energy into something, it’s not going to be an outfit that can’t get it’s head out of it’s ass. (Assuming it has a head!!)

I think you will find that the people here understand that respect for differing opinions is quite easy to accomplish when it is simply a required premise to the argument. There are some really smart people in the group reading this blog. Take advantage of learning what you can from them and teaching them what you know as well. We can get things fixed in the country, but we have to find common ground and purpose first.

It is not the cheaper labour, although that looks good to the ‘bean counters’, but the heavy hand of many Government agencies and their rules that make it harder for any company to do business in this country. The Federal Government has taking on roles it was never meant to do. I am a constitutionalist, I guess that puts me into the libertarian category, so every time the Supreme Court “interprets” the Constitution I see a piece of freedom disappear. We are fortunately past the Burger court, who declared the Constitution a ‘living document’ that had to change with times, in order to do legislation instead of interpretation, but the thought of two or three appointments during this administration can do as much damage as all the stimulus bills.

I suggest we all become Viet nam re-enactors. This will allow us to play around with: M-60′s, M-16′s, M-14′s, CAR 15′s, pump 12 Gauges, and M-79′s. Of course, it will all be for re-enactment purposes. Perhaps we can get tax exempt status.

I have been reading what other people have written here, and I agree that there is too much bashing vs discussion in our politics. I believe that we all need to start listening to each other and stop allowing ourselves to be divided over partisanship (or any other issue) and start holding individuals responsible – regardless of Party affiliation.
And we need websites like yours since I believe that the media (and our government) often purposely promotes this divide.
So although I probably lean more to the Left than you, I will be interested in reading what you write.

Thanks for your thoughts. I don’t own the net but I do run this site. I have not placed restrictions or conditions on freedom. What I have done is ask that people come here and have discussions with integrity and respect. The name calling and nastiness are not needed, and are counterproductive to moving our country in the right direction. If name calling is what people want, there are plenty of sites out there for that. This site is not one of them. I do reserve the right, on my site, to regulate the tone of discussion to further the dialogue between different points of view. And I do want to have a broad view of opinions, I just don’t want differing ideas treated disrespectfully. Not a lot to ask and most who come here seem to like that I require it….

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

Like many, I stumbled across this website while surfing through FoxNews. But I’m different than you guys, although we have more in common than most think. I’m Canadian, and I’m sure some of you will remark, and say something to the tune.. “What’s a Canadian doing here?” Fair question. But I see it this way:
Both our nations are close neighbours, politically, culturally, and economically. Our history together goes back over 200 years, and I’m very sure it will extend even further into the future. Canada is the little cousin to the USA. There’s a common saying up here. “If the states sneezes, we catch a cold”. Whatever happens to you happens to us. Our fortunes are tied together, and we feel all the repercussions coming from our neighbour to the south. We are well aware that if terrorists target the USA, then Canada is not far down the list, and an attack upon us is inevitable.
It is not in our best interests to see the USA falter or be damaged. But we do want the USA to prosper, and eventually, be welcomed to the world community. Because at the moment, for a large portion of the world, being and American is being a pariah. An isolationist policy may have been feasable back in the days of sailing ships. But today, it only takes about six minutes for an SLBM to reach downtown Manhatten. So we all must learn to live with our neighbours. It’s not a scary world out there, it’s very wonderful. But it is quite different than being in the USA. Not wrong, just different.
I am glad I found this place, because I do not wish to engage in trading insults or getting involved in petty fights. This is a place for people to put their ideas forward, in the interests of a better future. We may have different ideas of what that future is supposed to be, but I hope we can agree that we all want increased prosperity, health, and safety. And that is what this Canadian and you guys have in common.
I may not agree with you, in fact I’m very sure many will label me a liberal. Fair enough, it’s just a label, and words don’t break bones. I hope to contribute, and I see myself offering alternative thoughts. Because I believe that by expanding our minds, learning off others, we may improve not only ourselves, but the environment we live in.

Very well said. However, I could give a “you know what” about what others percieve an American to be. I also have no issue with isolating ourselves from a good portion of the world. I have a question related to the Tea Party’s that I would like someone to address. After those Tea Party’s I watched more liberal news stations keep asking why attending people think the tax rate is too high. And, quite frankly, all of the respondents did a very poor job answering the question very well. This “added” to the liberal agenda.
Can you write your opinions on this? To me, it is not about the total tax rate, it is more about WHO is paying the full tax burden. Your comments may help to educate others

I appreciate your focus on Constitutional issues because I believe that is where we the people have been asleep at the wheel for many years now. Even though I am Christian and staunchly conservative I have tried to vote for candidates based on a total perception, not any single issue. This of course means I “sometimes” had to vote for someone other than a Republican. The issues that face our country right now are indeed beyond partisan politics. Unfortunately, the mass media likes partisanship and ancillary issues like racism and will play those cards as long as they believe it drives viewers, even at the expense of the country’s best interest.

I don’t know if you researched Obama’s birth certificate issue in the past but I think that would be a good subject. I found this on the FOX Nation site:
A 2007 Associated Press photograph, suppressed until now, shows the school register of the child who is today known as Barack Hussein Obama but was officially listed then as Barry Soetoro, whose citizenship was listed as “Indonesian” and whose religion was listed as “Islam.” The visual evidence starkly contradicts the Obama campaign’s claim that he was not a Muslim and confirms that he is a national of at least one other country.
In addition, it raises the highly problematic issue of what is Obama’s official name. If it turns out to Barry Soetoro, and no official change of name was ever made, Obama may face an array of charges of deception and misprision that may throw into doubt, at the very least, his fitness to run.
Deep doubts remain about the veracity of the “certificate of live birth” image produced for his campaign by the radical left-wing Daily Kos blog. There are reports that investigative teams — from the Republican and Democratic parties as well as various intelligence agencies — are seeking out the details of his murky childhood from Kenya to Indonesia. There are indications of growing disquiet in the circles of power that the so-called “smears” may have understated the gravity of the candidate’s identity problem: he may not be American, he was not raised Christian and, it appears, he was not Barack Hussein Obama.
The evidence of the candidate’s un-American, un-Christian upbringing is nothing new, and has been documented by bloggers as early as 2007 and by Israel Insider in our very first report on this subject in June of this year. But until now the photograph of his school record has been lacking. The image is dated from 2007 and was apparently taken to accompany an AP article that appeared in January of that year. Ironically, that article was about how Obama was rejecting the untrue charge that the public school he attended was a radical Indonesian madrassa.
More info needs to be released on Obama (or Barry Soetoro). This info will be suppressed by the Obama (Soetoro) campaign and the questions will continue to be unanswered by the Democrat Party nominee.
How about a series on term limits for congressmen and senators? There are pros and cons on this subject and I used to be confused and ambivalent about it. However, after seeing the Republicans abuse their power and now the Democrats are doing the same thing, I think term limits could partially solve this problem.
So what to do USWeapon?
I contact senators, congressmen, and local politico’s to no avail. THEY are not listening to us, we the people.
They are ALL corrupt and stealing the people’s wealth to make us dependent on them.
So what to do USWeapon?
Well Sam, that is what we are figuring out here. There are a lot of different trains of thought. One of the things we are attempting to discern is what the proper moves are to get our country moving in the right direction morally and politically. It seems up is now down and left is now right, but this ship needs to get righted again. That is the entire purpose of the site. I don’t know if I have any answers. Maybe I do. Right now I think we are in the stage of making sure before we get answers, that we are asking the right questions. Down that make sense?
USWeapon I believe you are correct that we need to know what the questions are. There is so much bias and double-speak out there that getting to the right questions will be a herculean task in itself.
I have really just begun on the path to truth. I kow I believe in our constitution and the declaration of independance. More people really need to read these documents so that they can judge for themselves where, if and how our country has gone so astray.

Column idea: I caught a segment on Beck yesterday that introduced a fascinating concept. I don’t know much about it yet but here’s the outline.
Montana just signed into law legislation stating that firearms and ammunition manufactured and sold in MT are not subject to federal regulation. Idaho and Texas are not far behind. The reasoning is that the US Constitution only allows the Federal gov’t to regulate interstate commerce and has no authority to regulate intrastate commerce. Further, the proper role of the Federal gov’t as regards interstate commerce is to ensure a level playing field among the states so as to promote trade. It’s role is not to restrict trade.
Mr. Beck’s contention, as well as Judge Napolitano’s, is first that this is a potentially momentous shift in power from the Feds to the States by forcing a new interpretation of the Interstate Commerce Clause that stands a good chance of passing theough the Supreme Court. Second, this could cut off at the knees the Progressive Movement of the past 100 years since about 90% of their agenda uses the current Interstate Commerce interpretation to acheive their ends.
The potential of this legal weapon against Federal power and the “March to Socialism” makes this idea very interesting and something I would like to learn more about.

I am forwarding this site to my dear husband who is totally undone by what is going on in our country and has been for quite some time. I grew up in the 60s, was never a hippy although at least a moment in time espoused some leftist political beliefs. I was 20 though, and BK (before kids) and once family arrived on my scene, my good sense and sense of responsibility for my actions kicked in. Same was true of my husband. Similar to you, I grew up in a small town, was glad to get away and miss it at times. So, I called my father tonight to find our our little town of less than 5,000 has decided to take the bribery payola from the Feds and all but one school in the area will require students to wear uniforms starting this fall. Or at least this is what I was told. I need to sort our how the GIVE Act may or may not play into this or whether this was simply the Stimulus bribery package to create even more of a State-run national nanny economy.

While writing about Obama’s health care speech did you not think, “Mandatory is wrong!” The powers of the states or federal government do not extend so far. Even the Social Security and Medicare programs should be made legal by adding Constitutional Amendments for that purpose. We have long been descending into tyranny and we need to stop that corruption.
Try buying stocks and bonds without signing away your rights to the protection of the Seventh Amendment. You cannot. Those unconstitutional but US Supreme Court supported mandatory arbitration clauses are spreading into more areas daily, including the job market. Here, as with most usurpations of American Constitutional rights, states or the federal government pass clearly unconstitutional laws and the US Supreme Court upholds them.
With their New London, Connecticut land grab decision that court told every American, “You have no rights politicians and business cannot combine and destroy.” That is fascism.
There is a long list of similar wrongs that I will not note here. The essence of fascism is the political leadership combining with business to destroy every right of the people.
Please note, both political parties are dirty and their top leadership has betrayed us. This condition is getting worse over time, not better.

While I appreciate all that has been said, I do not appreciate constantly getting survey’s and “contribution replys” from the Republican Party. Where have you been these last few years. I had issues with Bush but he was honest and I trusted him. I did not always agree with him but felt that he was doing what was best for the country. He did keep us safe after 911. The Republican Party, on the other hand, is not trustworthy based on what I have seen. I am ashamed. McCain is an American who served his country well but that did not make him Presidental material. I guess the Party owed him something. Well, I owe him my respect for his service. My husband and I have raised 4 daughters, put them through college. They are now self supporting Americans with differing views which is fine. Two of them have married Europeans with Green Cards who along with the other two and their spouses pay their taxes and take care of our 10 grandchildren. How has the Republican Party or the Government helped any of us? We have helped ourselves as we believe in personal responsiblity. Now that is a thing of the past and I am ashamed as an American and as a human being that we as a country have allowed our fate to be placed in the hands of those who have no other agenda than that of “no personal responsiblity”. Perhaps we have way too many Demoncratic Lawyers and Judges. Shame on the Republican Party. I vote but it doesn’t seem to count or make a differance! Are the conservatives dead? I don’t think so but so!

How did THIS web page suddenly show up on my email? Oh well, doesn’t matter. Looks like you predate all us “newbies” to Tim’s Revolution. I went through the mock session in Sept of 2009, then accused Tim Cox of “stealing my idea”(LOL). I laughingly said that to him because I worked hard to get a “principled” man into the Presidential spot, Ron Paul. Boy, was I deflated after the primary. I had similar thoughts in Feb 2008, but was thinking only about my local district, nothing on the scale that Tim produced. That month, we formed the Tennessee Liberty Alliance (non-partisan, educational org) to try to uncover the blind eyes of most Americans (www.tnliberty.org). WAKE UP AMERICA! What this page is telling you about the 2-party system is right on target! I am working hard now to change all that.

This movement, currently driven so much by the tea parties and their desire to reclaim America from the parasitic bureaucratic class, needs to realize it needs to be a moral revolution that advocates reclamation of individual rights.
I suggest more coverage of Ayn Rand and her two articles, “Individual Rights” and “The Nature of Government”.

Just posted on your site about Iran. Don’t know that many people will understand, much less appreciate what I know, but here goes nothing…by the way, I’m not anti-Muslim, just anti-Islam (as in a soldier fighting a Nazi or Communist regime rather than all citizens under their rule).
Except this is a religion that is founded upon denying Christ’s divinity and crucifixion, claiming that the prophet Muhammad via the angel Gabriel authoritatively negated the foundation for a world religion! Now realize how the Muslims would take it if someone claimed to have spoken with an angel who admitted Muhammad was a righteous man, but that he really didn’t receive the Koran, therefore Islam is based on a lie, and that one day, Muhammad himself will even come back and tell everyone. (I dare say anyone trying to claim such would be quickly beheaded or otherwise disposed of, not by a moderate Muslim, but those less tolerant.) That’s about what Muslims believe about Christianity. This is why these two ideologies are diametrically opposed.
It’s not that they both don’t teach us to do good. The real problem is that they are like McDonald’s and Burger King, competing for business, and will try to market their “product” as superior somehow, and both will find die-hard fans who will insist on the superiority of one over the other.
Yet…Jesus either was crucified or not. It’s not like a choice between chocolate or vanilla. It wasn’t meant to be a choice between two preferences, only based on personal taste or opinion. In the end, every human that ever lived on the planet, is living, or will live, must decide…because there will come a day soon when this question won’t just be speculation anymore. Superhuman beings claiming to be Jesus will contend for the hearts of all. The only question will be…which is the real Jesus? (Ever seen “To Tell the Truth”?)
At least Jews don’t go around claiming one of their prophets clearly denied Jesus was crucified. Jews usually admit a Jew named Jesus of Nazareth claimed to be the Messiah and was crucified, they just disagree about Jesus’ identity…but not by claiming the authority of any prophet who asserted such…but by a general consensus among Jewish scholars who do not claim any clear divine source to support that point of view. It’s more of a legal opinion.
Jesus planned all of this. Christians, though they do not know for the most part, are the ten lost tribes of Israel, at least partly descended. The northern kingdom of Israel was dispersed by the Assyrians and assimilated, causing a loss of all Israelite heritage for these tribes. 134 years later, the Babylonians conquered the Assyrians and Judah, and the northern Israelites, unlike the Jews, forgot their language, religion, and ancestry.
The southern kingdom of Judah was allowed to remain intact culturally while in Babylon, and was freed from captivity in a shorter time, having maintained its cultural identity. What happened to both segments of Israel was wisdom. One was to preserve the nation of Israel for two millenia (Jews), the other was meant to be open to accepting the Gospel when the Law of Moses was fulfilled (the lost tribes).
The time has come to gather Israel from the corners of the earth. All the tribes, not just Judah, have the right to live in Israel under the Law of Return. Soon it will be clear who carries the blood of Israel and who fights for her. Jews must ultimately accept Christ as their Messiah. Christians must learn their heritage as lost tribes of Israel and return to their roots. Israelites must be One Fold with One Shepherd. Those who oppose Israel will be numbered with Ishmael. We will all have to choose. I can only lead a horse to water…

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A…
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because, when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on)

Has anyone ever posted an article or opinion concerning breast cancer awareness/fundraising and the way it seems to be the PC darling of all the places to send your dollars for cancer research? Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against breast cancer research, and like everyone else I have several close to me who have been afflicted with this disease. Some have survived and some have not, so believe me I’m not out to hurt anyone who has lost someone to this awful disease. And if you have faced this in your own family and especially if you have lost someone close, please accept my sincere sympathy.
But everywhere I look, companies are having all these breast cancer awareness campaigns, pink ribbons, buy-our-product-and-X-will-be-donated-etc. What about, oh let’s say, prostate cancer? The stats are not too much different (though breast cancer has higher mortality rates-40,000 from breast cancer and 28,000 from prostate cancer in 2006). But I know just as many men who have had prostate cancer, yet no one is taking them up as a cause that I’ve heard about.
I did look up cancer stats recently, and 2006 is the most recent year for which they are available. If I remember correctly breast cancer is #1 followed by prostate, then lung, and one other I can’t remember now….it’s late and I need to try to get a little more sleep tonight….
But what I would be interested in is how much money is actually raised for breast cancer research and an accounting for it all. I have a feeling that with the huge amount of money being raised by all these pink ribbon campaigns that some serious money is being skimmed to line some pockets……but I don’t know where to go to sniff this out. I also bet that the amount raised for prostate cancer is minute in comparison…..and men are mostly not going to trumpet their afflictions or complain about this type of imbalance.
Have you any opinion on this? Again, if this has touched someone you know closely please accept my condolences…..I’m going to feel like a real a**hole if you have recently lost someone to this.

Enjoying your blog and the responses. Only one complaint: we should never call them “Progressives”. It’s amazing that when “Liberal” starts to develop an unpopular connotation they slither into this new, forward-sounding identity and we are complicit. They have slithered back and forth between these two designations “as needed” throughout history. Actually, we shouldn’t even call them “Liberals”, as TRUE and classical liberalism is FAR from their goal. They are (multiple choice) “Fascists”, “Statists”, “Socialists”, or “Communists”….. an insidious mixture of stupidity, elitism, and–most of all–evil.
Praise God that Obama was elected while we still have enough Patriots to make those 3:00 am phone calls…..
