“RUSH”ing to Spend Our Tax Dollars

It seems that the Democratic party just isn’t quite sure what to say when a member of the media is not lauding them for their accomplishments or telling us all about the savior and why we are good and righteous people for electing him. They have actually commissioned an online petition against Rush Limbaugh for his comment that was directed at the new President. His comment: “I hope he fails”. I am not one to stick up for Rush very often. I think he and Ann Coulter have gone off the deep end a bit, but let’s look at the last 8 years, shall we?

Let me say first of all that what bothers me most is that Democrats think it is a good idea to waste money on commissioning an online petition to basically say “we don’t like what the bad man said”. I guess this is another instance where the Democrats are embracing free speech in America?

Let’s be straight, shall we? I do not want Barrack Obama to fail. If he fails that means our country is worse off than it is now. I don’t think any of us want that to happen. I am rooting for him to succeed, but I will openly admit that there are some areas that I would rather see fail. I would like to see a failure around the government attempting to gain state control over private enterprise. I would like to see a failure of policies that I feel are bordering on socialism: National Health Care, Welfare Programs, and things like this come to mind.

rush_limbaughAnd I can admit that I am not a fan of Rush Limbaugh. I think Rush has gone off the deep end a little bit. I don’t like the politics of hate or fear, and Rush has unfortunately embraced these tactics over the last decade or two. Ann Coulter has joined him, which is unfortunate because she is actually quite smart and has the ability to win many of her arguments without resorting to these tactics. But I do acknowledge that these two have the right to say these things if they so choose.

Let’s not forget the things said over the last year that the Democrats did not feel were bad enough to speak out against them. They didn’t seem to mind that the Westboro Baptist Church shouts “God hate fags” and “good soldiers are dead soldiers”. They didn’t mind when Bill Ayers said he felt he didn’t bomb enough government buildings back in the day. They didn’t mind when Jeremiah Wright said “God Damn America”. So many things that the Democrats don’t mind at all. But Rush says this statement and they feel it is moral necessity to pay for an online petition to say they mind.

Congress DemocratsLet’s not forget what we have been listening to Democrats say about Republicans for the last several years. Nancy Pelosi and company have certainly been vocal and ignorantly hateful towards the last President. Not only did they hope he failed, they actively sought to make it happen over and over and over. Democrats have accused the Bush administration of being responsible for the 9/11 attacks. President Bush was called everything from a murderer to a criminal to a liar. We have had to listen to the likes of Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, The Dixie Tramps, and even Jessica Alba.

Democrats in America have been horrible examples of being good people when it comes to their assessment of Republicans for the last 7 years. Let’s be blunt here shall we? Democrats in Congress and the media have been hateful, lying, pieces of shit for the last 7 years (which makes them only slightly worse than Republicans in Congress). And now these hypocrites want to come out and petition someone for expressing his opinion because they are personally offended. Well let me tell you something, Nancy Pelosi, I have been personally offended by your hate and partisan strong-arming for a long time.

This is why I hate politicians. Party games like this. It isn’t enough that both sides are screwing the country daily. It isn’t enough that they are destroying the fabric of America. They have to act like frackin 5 year old children around something that Rush Limbaugh said.

So a couple of points here as I close this out. First, its Rush Limbaugh you frackin crybabies. Who gives a half a shit what he thinks? Grow up. You have been slinging more mud than anyone over the last 7 years and now you want everyone to play nice while a Democratic Congress and President ruin the country. You are hypocrites and simple -minded people.

couric-middle-fingerSecond, for the rest of you Democrats. Don’t embrace this bullshit. And start to denounce the madness in your party. Your party has gone insane, and your party leaders have led the charge. Pelsosi, Reid, and company poisoning your mind with their crazy shit. Don’t be like them. Don’t say the stupid things that they say. If you do, I reserve the right to think of you the same way I do of them. I used to be a Republican. They derailed and I have taken my shots at them for it. I denounced their madness. It is time for Democrats in America to stand up and get your party on track.

And before anyone else has anything to say about Rush’s statement, remember that this is America where you have the right to say what you think. This is fortunate for the mainstream media, Nancy Pelosi, and folks like BlackFlag. No one seemed to mind all the horrible things said about Republicans for the last 7 years (except BF who just hates everyone). Democrats had the right to be hateful, spiteful people. Now you are going to have to put up with the same criticisms and hopes that you have put out there as acceptable for so long.

Congratulations on winning control of Congress and subsequently the Presidency. Now you don’t have anyone to blame but yourselves.

Comments

  1. I think people should relook at what Rush Limbaugh said. He said that he hopes Barack Obama fails if his only agenda is going to be socialist programs. He wants Obama to succeed if it is the right thing for Americans and does not take us into the mamby pamby social programs that will take us down and be hard to ever come back from. Watch “Demolition Man” and look at what we are turning into if big brother government takes over all of our lives and we are not allowed to think for ourselves.

  2. I want freedom and liberty. If that means a particular political parasite and his freedom-destroying initiatives need to fail, then so be it. And I will rejoice in that failure.

Rush lost all of his legitimacy when he was caught abusing drugs, yet still spoke out in favor of the illegal and immoral war on (some) drugs. He obviously does use only half of his brain, because if he would untie and use the other half, he would be libertarian. But I absolutely support Rush’s right to say whatever he wants. No one is forced to listen to him. If the state, through the FCC, didn’t pretend to own the electromagnetic spectrum that surrounds us, this wouldn’t even be an issue.

It is a sad deception that there are two major political parties in America: there is one party masquerading as it’s own opposition, and most people are fooled. We are only dealing with the right and left jaws of the same snake.

  3. I would tend to agree that this whole Rush thing is simply asinine and a waste of time. Who gives a shit what he says – he and Coulter simply represent the fringe in many cases and are as radical as Pelosi and her ilk many times. Let Rush, Coulter, Wright and the Hollywood jackasses say whatever they want – they aren’t going to sway opinion in any direction most likely – its just more crap to fill up airspace on the nightly “news”.

What I do find interesting in the post, and Dr. Phil I am not, is as follows:

“Let’s be straight, shall we? I do not want Barrack Obama to fail. If he fails that means our country is worse off than it is now. I don’t think any of us want that to happen. I am rooting for him to succeed, but I will openly admit that there are some areas that I would rather see fail.”

    and then:

“…you want everyone to play nice while a Democratic Congress and President ruin the country”

Substantive portions of the postings seem to reflect that (a) you do not want Obama to fail – you don’t necessarily want him to win either – but it comes across as somewhat (emphasis on somewhat) insincere when (b) two weeks into this thing you’re writing things off as a failure. I know the objective of a blog isn’t always to be objective, but it just makes it a little harder to follow the post when the logic on where your observation tower sits seems to move. Just my two pennies. Keep up the great work.

  4. It reminds me of what Ron Paul said about the emphasis of the auto bailout which was only a few billion, but it was used as a misdirection by the democrats so that we didn’t focus on the 700 billion dollar bailout. I think the Rush thing is the same… focus on something else while the Democrats slide things under the table.

I petitioned with the reversal. I let them know that Free Speech is free speech. Let the man be… He can say what ever he wants, especially if they do not like it. I think they are twisting his words as well. He said he hopes that Obama “fails” because he does not want Obama’s “solutions” in America. Obama’s plans for progressive social programs should fail. But I do hope he fixes some economical problems. People are a little to naive/ignorant. Also, Obama supporters are really touchy!

  5. I used to like Rush, he is an intelligent person. I stopped liking him when he started to find ways to justify stupid actions by the republican party. He is not so far gone that he offers no criticism, but he toes the line more than he should if he wants credibility. That lost him his credibility long before the drug thing.

I do, however, want Obama to fail. Not because I don’t like him personally, or because I want the country to be miserable. I want him to fail because his proposed actions so far are bad ideas. I want them to either fail to be implemented (because if they are the country will be worse off), or I want the results of the policies to be obvious failures so that people realize that, in the long run, such policies are bad, and we need to take a different aproach. I would love for Obama to succeed in bringing the country back around, but to do so he will have to completely change his strategy.

If McCain had gotten in, I would have wanted him to fail too, for the same reasons. If Bob Barr or Ron Paul had gotten in, I would be more inclined to want them to succeed because I liked their ideas. Bottom line, if someone could harm the country by succeeding at what they are doing, then I want them to fail. Rush is right, at least on that.

  6. This notion of Washington as inevitably incompetant is dangerous. It’s ludicrous to think that Obama’s failure will sour people on government and thus lead to a glorious new age of smaller government and lower taxes. Bush was a miserable failure and it led to an overwhelming desire for a more engaged central government.

My lates novel, TAKEOVER, is about a man who takes this sort of anti-government view to an extreme — or its logical conclusion, depending on your viewpoint. The book is about an enormously successful investor who views Washington as nothing more than the “back-office” to New York and Wall Street. I wrote it as a kind of intellectual exercise: could a man of virtually infinite wealth and (private) power but with absolutely no respect for governemnt purchase the ultimate trophy, the White House. Contempt for government isn’t only dangerous in the hands of terrorists; it can be dangerous in the hands of ruthless capitalists as well.

The only way ruthless capitalists can be dangerous is if they use their wealth to by government power.

It is government power that is the danger – if it was not there, there is nothing to buy.

I will read your book, though – sounds interesting!

  8. Ray,

I don’t think I am off base there. I am fairly disgusted with both parties and I have made that clear in the past. I want our country to succeed. I don’t dislike Obama, in fact I think he is probably a good man who wants to make things better. But this is what I mean by the hypocritical part of the deal. I don’t recall Democrats giving Republicans, and especially George Bush, any kind of “waiting period” over the last several years before they decried his policies a failure. And I don’t really have a problem with that because many of his policies were failures and we could see that before they got started. But I also don’t see the Democratic solutions to be any better, and in fact possibly worse. Simple economics tells us that this stimulus plan won’t work. Short term gain for long term pain. Even worse that the economic stimulus plan contains very little in the way of economic stimulus, as you well know.

What is really bothering me right now is the “drunk with power” actions of the Democratic leadership. Truly spitting in the face of the Republicans and telling them “we have the power now so sit down and shut up”. Not the bipartisan future we were sold in the election process. Look at Obama’s comments to the Republican members of Congress and Pelosi’s comments today just before the vote on the bill. I will be writing about this soon.

    Jon,

    “Drunk with power”

    So what’s changed?

Reb/Dem …. no matter who … drunk with power.

So, isn’t it time to say “NO” – regardless of what color T-shirt is playing on the field?

    Therefore, Government MUST be abolished

  10. Do you want to stop the Obama stimulus plan? If so go to http://www.wewantavote.org and sign our petition. If not don’t.

  12. BF,

I understand your position. I don’t argue that things are a mess. I just want to change government rather than eliminate it. It comes down to that fundamental difference that we have, I don’t believe that government is inherently evil and you do. I just think we have ignored it enough to allow it to become evil. We can change that if we unite for the common purpose. We can’t eliminate it though, the world simply isn’t ready for that.

  13. US – I suppose what is raising my blood pressure by the minute is that the Dems have such an opportunity in front of them and they are literally pissing it away while the smug-ass new folks put on their windex smiles and offer nary an assessment – just the “new” folks! You know – I get the whole “we won the election part” – but that doesn’t grant you a license to implement social programs that do little to create jobs? In fact – has anyone bothered to defines WTF a ‘economic stimulus plan’ is anyway? I don’t think I have seen such a thing. I make my living in information security & privacy – the last few years in consulting. Every dollar I am asking for in a proposal better be backed up by some concrete linkage as the what deliverables the buyer will actually receive in exchange. Any time I do ‘implementations’ there have to be established monitoring controls and benchmarks that are transparent and can easily allow the lay person to gauge performance. This crap makes me feel like I am back in college pledging the frat and being yelled at to eat another handful of dog biscuits and chase it with a warm stale beer – AND – to ask for more.

We’ve tried changing government for 10,000 years. Can’t be done.

You have never offered a moral or principled basis for government other than violence. Therefore, it is evil.

I just think we have ignored it enough to allow it to become evil.

It is by paying attention to evil that creates its energy.

We can change that if we unite for the common purpose.

Absolutely. By the way, what does government have to do with this?

We can’t eliminate it though, the world simply isn’t ready for that.

Yes it is – but as long as people like you remain weak and are not ready, the world will not be ready.

Be strong and stand on your own two feet – and not reach for the evil of violence.

And this is how it works, is it?

I’ve never said I hate anyone.

But you have said that you do many times (you love the word, it seems).

Then you say I say those things.

But that is how Statists work, right USWep? Do the evil and blame others…..?

    Therefore Government must be Abolished
