The Messiah Recants Again… and Again

I am going to continue to call out these things. It isn’t just because I disagree with the direction that Obama and the Democratic leadership (I despise even calling them leaders because it is an insult to real leaders everywhere) are taking the country. And make no bones about it, I completely disagree with the direction they are heading. I will continue to call out these things because I hope that some of the Democrats who read this blog, and who fully support Obama based on what he says, will eventually understand that he is lying through his teeth each time he addresses the nation. If the guy was actually doing any of the things he claimed I might support him a bit.

Those of you who have been reading since the beginning remember that I was one of the first to come out and say that I would support him as President if he really meant the things that he said. I was skeptical that he was being honest, but if he was I thought to myself “I’ll give the guy’s ideas a chance”. Unfortunately what I am seeing is that the new President is as completely full of shit as I was afraid he would be. Phil Kerpen, Director of Americans for Prosperity wrote an article a couple of weeks ago outlining the top five broken promises from the messiah. I wanted to bring them to all of you as well.

Promise #5: Sunlight Before Signing

This is an 8" stack of paper. Read THAT in 11 Hours.

8" : Read THAT in 11 Hours.

What he said: “Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did: Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter bill, the SCHIP/cigarette tax hike, and the stimulus bill all with far less than a five-day waiting period that he promised–and continues to promise–on his campaign Web site. He also failed to follow through on the promise of demanding Congress give 48 hours for the public to view the stimulus bill before it was voted on. It passed 11 hours after completing. The members of Congress couldn’t even have read it in 11 hours.

Promise #4: Lobbyist Revolving Door

no-lobbyist-signWhat he said: “No political appointees in an Obama-Biden administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years. And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did: Obama appointed Goldman Sachs lobbyists Mark Patterson chief of staff at the Treasury Department, where he directly oversees his former employer, a recipient of $10 billion of taxpayer funds from the TARP.  Obama also appointed Raytheon lobbyist William Lynn to be an undersecretary of Defense. In total, by my count there are 12 former lobbyists so far that are working in the White House, despite the “Executive Order” issued on day 1 banning such action.

Promise #3: No Tax Hikes on the Poor

no-tax-hikes-pumpkinWhat he said first: “I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” (September 12, 2008, Dover, N.H.)

What he did first: By signing H.R. 2 into law, Obama happily signed onto the idea that smokers should pay for a $35 billion expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP).   Cigarette taxes are going up 61 cents a pack starting April 1.  Obama signed this bill knowing that the majority of smokers in the United States are working poor, and one in four lives below the federal poverty line.

What he said next: “If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime.  I repeat: not one single dime.” (February 24th, 2009, Address to a Joint Session of Congress)

What he did next: Ignored the already-hiked cigarette tax at the time of the statement and then this restated promise was broken just two days later, when the Obama’s budget proposal was released.  His new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

Promise #2: Pork Barrel Earmark Reform

pork-bustersWhat he said: “The system is broken. We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project. We can no longer accept an earmarks process that has become so complicated to navigate that a municipality or non-profit group has to hire high-priced D.C. lobbyists to do it. And we can no longer accept an earmarks process in which many of the projects being funded fail to address the real needs of our country.” (Statement on Earmarks, March 10, 2008)

What he did and is expected to do: He signed the economic stimulus bill which didn’t have what is technically called an earmark, was chocked full of pork. We covered this in detail a while back if you need a reminder of what kind of bullshit was in there. This whole, they weren’t technically “earmarks” semantics game is disgusting and shows how willing to lie to the American public he is. The White House has further signaled that it intends to sign the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations bill, which according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, contains 8,570 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion, including dozens of wasteful pork-barrel projects.  These earmarks were awarded based on seniority, not on merit, and were mostly the result of high-priced lobbying, precisely the process that Obama promised to end.  When the omnibus reaches his desk later this week or next week, we’ll find out if this is one more broken promise.Let me go out on a limb here and say he will continue to break this promise as well, because agenda trumps rhetoric in this administration every time.

Promise #1: Big Government

What he said: “Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t.” (February 24, 2009, Joint Address to Congress)

They are STILL Laughing at YOU, Gullible Americans

They are STILL Laughing at YOU, Gullible Americans

What he did: Obama proposed a budget that is breathtaking in scope, a blueprint for the biggest permanent expansion of government in history right on the heels of a sweeping trillion dollar stimulus plan.  The budget lays the foundation for a government takeover of the health care and energy sectors and dramatically increasing spending across the board, other than defense weapons programs.  Spending as a percentage of the economy under this budget will reach the historic level of 27.7 percent this year.  The deficit as a percent of the economy, at 12.3 percent, is set to be the biggest in the entire history of the country outside of the four peak years of World War II.  Anyone who offers such a budget can only fairly be described as a believer in bigger government. Add this on to the economic stimulus bill and we are seeing the largest expansion of government in history. He is not just a believer in bigger government, that is his, and the Democratic party’s, entire agenda. Anyone who believes otherwise is what I would call a contortionist…. because you have found a way to stick your entire head up your ass.

  1. I believe the word misspoke is used today when speaking of lies. That Obama misspoke on several occasions is very true.I agree almost fully with the points brought forth here, except for one minor diffugulty. No one in America is being forced to pay any increase in cigarette tax.I will not be paying one red cent out of my pocket toward this tax.In the future let’s leave this bullet point out of the arguement,as it is a misspeak.

    • USWeapon says:

      Ron,

Yes I believe that the word misspoke is used today when speaking of lies. It is because one wants to be polite and not call someone a liar. But when someone walks out and looks at the world and tells someone something that is something they know is untrue, that is not misspeaking, that is a lie. I am no longer willing to be polite when my politicians outright lie to me. And that is what is happening on both sides of the aisle. Their intent is to deceive the American public. Believing that they merely misspoke is a dangerous trap to fall into.

  2. Texas Tirrell says:

    Ron,

Those who do smoke will be paying that extra tobacco tax, and it stinks!

In Texas, the price jumps up 0.60 a pack on Monday, not April first (that’s when the 0.90 hits).

Most smokers, still smoke, just change to a cheaper smoke. They will be hit again.

Now if the tax hike was for their health care, I might would go for it, but no, it’s for illegal children.

  3. Texas Tirrell—–Anyone standing there with a cigarette in their mouth complaining about the high taxes on tobacco is stupid. That’s one tax there’s no reason to pay.

    • USWeapon says:

      Ron,

We are going to have to agree to disagree here on this cigarette tax. It is called a sin tax. No one was forced to drink tea brought from England either. It is this notion that it is completely OK to just add on whatever taxes they like that takes root because you believe what you do. They have waged a war on smokers through the taxes they impose on cigarettes. And it is unjust. No one needs McDonalds either, and obesity is a far bigger problem in the US than smoking. So why not place a sin tax on fast food? I hope you see where I am going with this.

  4. O.K.,let’s leave it this way;I believe that calling the cigarette tax a lie weakens the other 4 points.I believe that it would be best to bypass the cigarette tax complaint and concentrate on the other 4 “misspeaks”.I don’t see any weakness in the other 4 points.
See how nicely “misspeak” turns into another word with a little inflection placed on it.

  5. All politician lie. But I believe that this administration has taken it to a new level in order to transform this country right under the people’s noses. It appears that Americans are schizophrenic, if the polls are to be taken seriously. 63% support Obama. 77% believe he is for “big government”. 55% don’t want big government. Close to 70% think the country is headed in the wrong direction. Huh? Are these the same people being polled? The incongruence of their beliefs shows how Obama’s lies are working, as he says one thing which the people believe) and does the other. So the unsophisticated American doesn’t connect the dots. Which is pretty scary. I liken it to a magician who uses sleight of hand to divert attention whilst the real trick is going on in plain site, yet the audience doesn’t catch it.

We are entering the danger zone here, USWeap. The people don’t get it, and the Obama agenda is advancing at lightening speed. By the time it dawns on the morons out there who cling to their belief in The Messiah that he has changed this country forever, it could be too late. Unless those of us who disagree ACT. As an American, I am P-Oed at what he is doing to this great nation. But as a mother, I am like a raging momma bear. Don’t mess with my kids’ future. I do not want them to bear the burden of this recklessness, and to live in a country in which their spirit to endeavor and innovate will be squelched. Anyone who reads your blog, and mine, and who agrees that we are headed down a treacherous path, needs to take action. Getting the message out is key, of course. But more is needed. Bombarding our “leaders” offices with calls and emails (I know this seems futile but when enough people do it, they do listen). Attending these tea parties across the country ( http://taxdayteaparty.com). Run for office. Whatever. Do something! When the course of this great nation changes on our watch, do we want our kids to look back and say “Why did you let that happen?”. My kids know they may be bailing me out of jail as some point (I am only half joking about this), but they’ll know that I tried.

  6. Actually Ron,
There are still 5 “misspeaks”. Even if you ignore the cigarette thing, the no tax hike thing still stands on the basis of the energy taxes. Hidden taxes are the biggest way we have been duped, especially in recent decades. Most people are paying more than half of their income in taxes, once you add in all taxes and fees. To say there will be no taxes and then disguise taxes that will affect people that were supposed to remain untouched is a lie, a misspeak, a broken promise, and a good reason to really get pissed off. So we can ignore the “sin tax” as a broken promise and be pissed about it based on its own merit: it is a manipulation tax and a way for the government to get more money and control. Sin taxes aren’t even in place to make people stop sinning, they are in place because they can be sold to the public.

  7. G. A. Rowe says:

    Thank you Jon Smith!

“Sin taxes aren’t even in place to make people stop sinning, they are in place because they can be sold to the public.”

This one sentence explains it all! They have couched things in language that appeal to everyone’s sense of safety, decency, and of course NIMBYism. Gun control – ban “assault” weapons without telling folks that any weapon can be used in an assault. (Automobiles kill ten times more people annually than guns ever have!) Hate crimes – it all depends on what the victim’s skin color, sexual orientation, or religion is whether or not the crime may be a “hate” crime. Freedom of speech – be careful who you are talking about or you could be charged with a hate crime. Little bits here and there. Put enough little bits together and you have a mountain of them.

We must always remember that by virtue of their education process, each and every lawyer is a trained professional liar. That almost each and every politician has been educated as a lawyer before they entered politics.

    Mark Twain was right!

  8. As you want to call it a “Sin Tax”, does this mean I pay a tax so I can sin? If so; then I pay the price to smoke when and where ever I chose, I have more right to do so than those who don’t pay this tax( i.e. Ron). I feel that if the government removes taxes on cigarettes then they have a right to dictate where and when I can sin. The U.S. government has always promoted the tobacco industry because of the billions of dollars in taxes and employment if produces, is that something like cutting off your nose to spite your face? Never mind don’t answer, this is a topic that will be around for years to come.

President Obama falls under what I call the “Bose Effect”; you spend a thousand plus dollars on a stereo speaker system that is nothing more than an extravagant high powered mono speaker system with a nifty equalizer that makes it sounds good. Then when you realize it really sucks it’s already too late, but not wanting to admit you screwed up, you brag about how great it sounds. Give it up, pitch the damn things out the window along with Obama and cut your losses; you’ll feel better when you don’t have to lie to your friends and family about the bad deal you made.

Did it not hit you when they crucified Joe for daring to ask a question; now I’m no fan of Joe, but as I remember it Obama went to him? Freedom of Speech is his “Right” and when government takes that “Right “ away (as Obama and his supporters attempted to do) all other “Rights” will follow. Obama lied from the beginning and everyone was blinded about wanting to make history “Vote for the Black Man”. My question is and be honest “would you have voted for him if he was “White””? If your answer is “No”, then you my friend are a “Racist”; if you answer, “Yes”, then dare tell me what qualifications you feel Obama had or has to fill the position of the President of the United States?

    • USWeapon says:

See Johnny, you didn’t have to go bashing a good company like Bose. You wrote: President Obama falls under what I call the “Bose Effect”; you spend a thousand plus dollars on a stereo speaker system that is nothing more than an extravagant high powered mono speaker system with a nifty equalizer that makes it sounds good. Then when you realize it really sucks it’s already too late, but not wanting to admit you screwed up, you brag about how great it sounds.

Before I even get into the flawed position that you take, allow me to correct you on the specifications. Bose does not offer a single speaker on the market today, or for the last ten years for that matter that operates on a mono level. At a minimum, stereo speakers are in stereo. The 6 full home theater systems and 3 home theater speaker systems operate on 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound and DTS 5.1. The speaker you are talking about, which is obviously the 901 Loudspeaker, is a stereo speaker and does in fact have a “nifty equalizer” (and is the only speaker Bose has made with that “nifty Equalizer”). However Stereo Review magazine and Sound and Vision Magazine both rated the 901’s as one of the top 5 speakers ever made, so the critics disagree with your assessment. Only the audio snobs disagree, but then again those are the same folks that say the Corvette is shit because it is not made in Italy. And just to date your comment a bit, the 901 Stereo Loudspeaker, which is in fact the speaker you were referencing, was created in 1968. It is now 2009. 41 years ago, and it sold successfully for 30. Name another speaker that sold for 30 years successfully with no re-design needed.

See I see Bose differently, and I am guessing I have a little more knowledge on the subject and have a little bit better pulse on the subject than someone who sounds a bit like he is a “hater”. You see, Bose creates speakers that have a great sound. No one is spending a couple thousand dollars on a Bose system without listening to them. And they like what they hear, millions of them. Would you be surprised to learn that Bose owns 25% of the world audio market? You, personally, are free to not like them. However, assuming that you have the perfect ear and therefore must decide for the world what Bose is supposed to sound like is a flawed position. Sound is personal, and Bose is the perfect fit for a lot of people. You aren’t one of them, but deciding that you are going to bash the company with silly slander like you mentioned above is not a good place to be. Remember that when you bash any other equipment in a public forum, you don’t know who you are offending as you tell them they are too stupid to make the choice that you would make. When you find a better system for the money let me know. Thus far for the last 15 years, no one has. The company’s equipment wins best in the market for the money at the $1k, $2k, and $3k price points every single year. The bottom line is that you don’t have to like them, but bashing them in that way is well…. ignorant.

NOW, I will drop discussing Bose because the audio company in question does not play into politics, which is what I do here. Your Bose comment aside, you made some great points. I think politically we are on the same page here and we can work on how to fix the country. I do believe we saw a ton of folks who voted for Obama for no other reason than the color of his skin. And admitted as much, and I do think that is racist. I think that Obama and his agenda are dangerous to the country, but I do believe that people are starting to realize as much. It is up to all of us to educate those who are not there yet. Thanks for your post.

      • My question is and be honest “would you have voted for him if he was “White””? If your answer is “No”, then you my friend are a “Racist”; if you answer, “Yes”, then dare tell me what qualifications you feel Obama had or has to fill the position of the President of the United States?

OK- Here’s the thought I just don’t see enough of being discussed! Before I start, let me explain that I am a Republican and always have been. Quit blaming Obama! How in the hell do people think he is responsible for anything? He was not qualified to be president when he was elected and he is not qualified to be president today! Do people really believe that some past president left a How To handbook in the oval office that magically prepared Obama overnight to come out swinging and know what he was doing? This president has to call a meeting to get directions to the bathroom. You better believe that Nancy and Harry and all the past donkey club members from the Clinton administration are gathering on a daily basis to pull Obama’s strings. Just remember that Congress needs to vote on the major issues, and who controls congress! Most people would say that Democrats control the congress and they would be correct for the moment. THE PEOPLE of the U.S. control congress or at least who gets a seat there! How much power to do anything would Obama have if there were a majority of Republicans sitting there voting down what you think Obama has come up with!

The next congressional elections are less than 2 years away and if the good people would start now to find the proper Republican Replacements we can get back in the business of doing the right things. We only have to bite the bullet and hope that the Donkey Club and their main puppet don’t destroy us financially before we can vote them out and try to reverse what we can. Most people who read know that democrats love to spend money and then act surprised when the Stimulus or Tarp or any other voted on bills come out laden with pork and earmarks. Do most people not know that the majority of any kind of legal work or political agenda that Obama ever had anything to do with in Chicago was Entitlement Programs? The people got sold a bill of goods for sure when they let the Leftist Media sell them on what a great choice he was for our future – Wow! The Republicans are just as much to blame for the way they ran such an important race. Let’s face it America, we all blew the gig on this one. The Dems offered up a woman, a black man and for a while a Mexican with an anglo name, and politically correct Americans were blinded so much they could not see the joke being perpetuated on them. Then the Republicans responded with what they thought would be a sure winner, John McCain. A war hero that came from a prison camp that was suppose to rally the real Americans. Thats a good one! People spit at him when he came home (or at least other Viet Nam veterans) and 40 years later at age 72 he’s going to be our saviour. Then he and the Repubs got even smarter and found a woman that no one ever heard of to be his vice president. Oh yeah that really brought the politically correct house down. People wanted change and that was what was offered to them.

2010 is closer than you think! This time, think America – get it right on both sides. Most left leaning democrats or people who say they are don’t even know what socialism is. They can be brought over from the dark side and help us in the next election. They should be fed up by then. It is just a matter of which side does the best sales job on a dumbed down America.

  9. Semantics, folks. Arguing semantics solves nothing. GA Rowe, you asked me once, so what are you going to do about it? I’m taking action. I ask ALL of you, “What are you doing about it?”, besides nattering like a bunch of old ladies on a blog? The framers nattered for awhile, but then they got off their asses and DID something. It’s high time all you boys put your money where your mouth is and followed their lead.

  10. Undertaker says:

I agree with Mad Mom. The time for talk is over. It is time to either do something or shut up. Whether it is writing and calling your Senators and Representatives, or taking part in a Tea Party, action has to be taken to get the Administration’s attention. The MSM continues to assist in the charade of the least experienced president in the history of the Republic. If you are unable to see his agenda and efforts to cripple the country and turn it socialist, then you are a part of the problem. If you are part of those who think he is “doing a good job”, then you have a severe problem. So, join in the effort to send a message to the Administration, via email, letters, phone calls or by participating with those who are willing to protest via a Tea Party or other protest.

  11. Crimsonjihad says:

Lol, I knew it was trouble when he brought Bose into the picture. I’ll leave that at that.

For as “progressive” as this country has been, why are we still stuck on color? I know this has come up before, but since it has come up now and I didn’t say anything before, I will now. Don’t we only further emphasize the difference by pointing out he is the first black president? Would it matter if he was a she? Yes, I know its history and shows how far we’ve come, but at the same time we are specifically calling it out. Do you think blind people care whether the president is black, white, Asian, Hispanic? Do they care if the president is male or female? I propose we should all be blind when selecting our candidate and listen to the issues. But that’s what is wrong with this country. There is no drama, no “good” TV, only the boring realities of life. So in the meantime, who’s going to grab a fork and help me?

  12. Crimson,

You are so ignorant. Don’t you know the first black President was John Hanson? God, do some research.

    USWeap,

If we are going to count the lies that Obama is making, how about being fair and balanced and mention some of the promises he is keeping.

He said he would bankrupt the coal industry with cap and trade,

which he is working hard to do.

  13. G. A. Rowe says:

    O.K., MadMom;

I sort of copied the following quote from Michelle Malkins blog, So here is your starting point!

“For new readers who are just learning about the protest movement and want to join, the best organizational resources are Tax Day Tea Party (nationwide April 15 events), Twitter #teaparty, PJTV’s list of upcoming protests, Re-TeaParty (send teabags to Washington and find July 4 events), and TCOT Report. And one more good one: New American Tea Party.”

This nation’s forefathers started with the Boston Tea Party, but our nation has grown much larger since then. We need to get organized NATIONALLY! And I do mean NATIONALLY! Unless we get an overwhelming number of people to get out, get vocal, wave signs and be seen then the MSNM (Main Stream News Media) won’t pay a lick of attention. Get my drift? If we do not get the MSNM attention, then we get absolutely NOTHING!

I live in one of the Western States, and I hear that Las Vegas is one of the hardest hit cities as far as home foreclosures. Guess where Harry Reid is from? I have a Nephew who is a flaming liberal that lives and works in the Chicago area, Obummer’s state. I have friends and relatives in California, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, Florida and North Carolina, not to mention New Jersey, Tennessee, Oregon and Washington State(where I was hatched and grew up). I have been burning up the internet email system and alienating (again) most of my relatives trying to get them all to pay attention to what is going on behind their backs.

THAT’s what we need to do! Get as many people as we can on board for the April 15 Tax Tea Party. I am trying my best. How many others out there are?

As we used to say in my USMC days . . . “Get off your lazy asses, people, get a move on and lets get this war in motion!”

  14. OK, Rock On GA Rowe! I am organizing the Rhode Island Tax Day Tea Party and am well plugged into all the info you cited. I am not a Marine, but a biotechnology salesperson and business owner from day one who takes crap from no one and considers “NO” a starting point. I live in the bluest of blue regions (New England) and am confronted daily by people (and friends) who view me as the girl from The Exorcist with the head spinning and green stuff spewing. No matter. I just move on. So anyway, I’m with you. Let’s get the remainder of the restless yackers off of the couch and get something going here! Nobody ever changed the course of history by being a pussy and sitting on their asses pontificating.

  15. Audio market, which I highly doubt. But you have to admit the comparison is correct; tell the truth “you own a piece of sh!t Bose don’t ya”? As for the most for you money look at Klipsh, made in the USA and with USA material and not in some Mexican sweat shop, buy America!! I’m only sorry they’re from Hope Arkansas home of sneaky Bill Clinton.

It was only a comparison; not an opening for you to promote the product? The point is that no one that voted for Obama want’s to admit they screwed up! He want’s to spend more money than our National Growth can pay. He spending the taxes our children and grandchildren will be paying long after we pass on.

And “dreweth” do your research; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hanson_(myths).

Obama has said he will make it imposible for the Coal Industry to run by over taxing them until they go bankrupt and refuse the Oil Industry new drilling sights. We have more coal than Saudi Arabia and more oil then the reast of the world. Hey, what an Idea; we use our own oil and sell our coal the everyone else. Maybe we can get our money back in the USA thereby fixing our economy. Nah, that would never work?

“Sitting on our butts and doing nothing”? Talking and brainstorming ideas is exactly what will save our country, maybe the ideas we throw back and forth today will be the ideas that work tomorrow. And maybe, just maybe someone is listening; so I’m not saying just sit on your butts and do nothing, but I am saying don’t stop talking! Except for you USWeapon, nah, just kidding, you have your opinion and I have mine and that’s all good, it’s what makes America “America”.

    • USWeapon says:

I do own Bose, and have owned Klipsh and Polk Audio as well. Both of those companies make a good speaker. So does Bose. And for the record Bose is a US company, based in Massachusetts and most of their products are made in the US, in Blythewood, South Carolina or Framingham, Mass.

A quick defense of Dreweth…. he was making a joke, not actually believing that John Hanson was the first black President. He, I , and Crimson were having a discussion about the subject the other night because we knew someone taking a college course where a very Afro-centric teacher was making that claim and we were putting that teacher in her place collectively. We are well aware that the statement was false. We make a lot of jokes, and that was merely one of them that no one was in on, lol.

  16. EmpeachEmAll says:

I’m gonna love this website. I was wondering about where the tea party’s were gonig to be also. thx MadMom

  17. Madmom, if I wasn’t already married, I would propose to you! Of everyone who writes on this blog, my beliefs seem to align with yours the most!

  18. Karl from Esom Hill says:

Misspoke my ASS! THE SONOFABITCH LIED!!! He WAS lying, he IS lying, and will CONTINUE to lie until he is, a.) Impeached (doubtful), b.) Assasinated(God I hope not[martyred]), or c.) loses in 2012. This is getting REAL old in a REAL big hurry. When you take the lies with the Socialist Agenda this is getting damned scary. Misspoke is just a PC word for LIE! I also heard that Obama is still enjoys a high popularity in the polls. What polls? Where are they polling people at? California? Illinois? There is sure as hell ain’t nobody polled me! Nor have they anyone I know. Maybe if they polled fairly they might get a different result (maybe that’s the explanation for why they don’t too). Mr. Obama also ignores the fact that most of the American people do NOT think his economic policies are or will work. And Ron, you and Obama can misspoke your cigarette “sin” tax up your collective ass! As an American, it is my right to smoke as long as it is legal. If you don’t want people to smoke, then make it illegal! But, he won’t do that because he sees a way to bilk the people out of more money to pay for another pet projects. Some people think that it is all right to put a tax on a product because they don’t use it themselves so it doesn’t affect them. Well Hoss, that still don’t make it right! How will you feel when it is something that you DO use? I am and will continue to shout this from the rooftops to anyone who will listen. And even if they don’t! All I can say is, America, you better wake the hell up, quick, fast, and in a hurry, or all your rights will be gone and you won’t ever get them back! Obama, Pelosi and the liberals are not going to stop their agenda of controlling our lives in every aspect because they believe we are to stupid to do it ourselves. AntiChrist is starting to sound like a more realistic title for this BASTARD every day he is in office and spouts another Socialist line of BULLSHIT. Now, let me calm down and catch my breath for a sec. It’s just that there is another shitfest every day when I watcg the news and I just see it getting worse and worse. I think Obama and his cronies need to focus on this economic disaster we are faced with and leave the rest of the money wasting agenda for better times.

  19. Johnny,
Bose makes a good speaker, you can not truthfully take that from them. Klipsh blows them away, especially the older series. Stay away from Polk, good sound, but power hogs. But headphones are still the best sound. And leave Bill out of the discussion please, Hope had no say in him residing there, he may have been a good kid as well. Not their fault how he turned out.

    US, your depth astounds me.

On subject, the main point to me is not that Obama or any politician lies, but that the majority of the media does not report this, or will actively make excuses for him. Most Americans simple take in what they are told, and keep living like a zombie. ( everyone chant obama, obama )

  20. Actually USWep, I’m going to have to see a better source than Wikipedia from Johnny before I change my views. That’s not research, that’s cheating!

I’m just happy that someone fell for it.

Funny Dreweth, very funny. However I have one thing that you need to know. I’m a dude playing a dude dressed up like another dude. You’re the dude who doesn’t know what dude he is. Tropic Thunder kills me.

  21. G. A. Rowe says:

Karl . . . Breath into a brown paper bag, my friend, then switch to DECAFF! You are preaching to the choir here.

  22. esomgazette says:

    G.A.
Sorry, There is no point in DECAFF! That’s like drinking Non-Alcoholic Beer for the taste! But, now I’m calm anyway. I sure can get roused up in a hurry though talking about Obama. It’s not that he’s a democrat. It’s the fact of his liberalism and Socialist ideas that he seems intent on forcing on America. That’s my biggest problem. When you’re hurting my Country you gettin’ on my fightin’ side in a hurry. This especially is true for our supposed leader. I was born in GA and have lived here most of my life. We are not so much Republican as we are Conservative. I would say that my opinions vary from moderate to severe conservative. I really enjoy this site because there is very constructive views shown here even if they are not the same. US writes very thought provacative articles.

  23. Ok, I’m busted (and that’s not cheating), cute joke. As for Polk the theory is good, I remember when they first came out (oh, and by the way the founders are ex-Bose Employees). And for your information a number of Bose Models are made in Mexico indiferent of where their home offices are. Enough; I quit I don’t want to change your mine, I was just making a point.

We all agree the US is in big trouble and Obama is just making it worse, the tea party sounds like a good thing, wish I could be there. FYI; someone has to hold down the fort overseas. I’ve been working with the US Frces in Europe for over 30 years. I watched our guys going and comming from Iraq both times. It really hurts when you make friends and not sure if they’ll ever return? I might add, I haven’t met one person that says they voted for Obama?

  24. G. A. Rowe says:

    esomgazette, and Karl;

Getting hyper doesn’t seem to help, either. My reference to Decaff is because of my bride of 40+ years. She sniffs the stuff and we have field day until 4 AM at my house. You gotta see the movie “Over the Hedge” to know what I am talking about here. When I take her out to dinner I always specify DECAFF for her. 😉

His Royal Lowness Sir Oh Bummer the All Knowing Magnanimous is running this once great nation of ours deep into a bottomless money pit. We are organizing a Tax Tea Party for April 15 2009 and hopefully it will capture the main stream news media’s national attention.

On a personal note from one who has been there to Johnny – Don’t stop making those friends. It really does mean a lot to them. Thank you for being there.

  25. To all the non-smokers out there:Do you Know what would happen if everybody quits smoking? YOU would pay more taxes!

    • They’re going to pay anyway! The rights of smokers are only the beginning of sin taxes or whatever PC name they can get people used to. Just wait until they come up with a “Polyester Tax” or a cheap walmart perfume tax! Imagine having to pay an extra $25 tax on “tennis shoes”! How about jeans! Hell, half of America would have to declare bankruptcy after paying these ridiculous taxes.

Some people think its ok to tax others as long as they are left out of it. Hahahaha!

      • USWeapon says:

        Brian,

You are absolutely correct. Those who are feeling like the sin taxes are OK will find in time that it was merely a step along the way, a precedent for taxes on other things in the future. I think this may be the first time that I have seen your name in my comments. Welcome!

  26. That is exactly what I propose NavyMom. A United States tobacco party. On April 1, I will quit smoking for good. I invite other
    smokers to do the same.

  27. Hey David; I got a better idea. lets all just quit drinking coffee, beer, sodas, or eating pizza and hamburgers. Quiting something to avoid paying taxes is not the answer; fighting any unjust taxation is the answer. That’s what our country “was” made of?

If you need to quit something to avoid paying the tax on it, then just dig your grave and hop in it now, why wait? They’re gonna get the tax somewhere or somehow anyway.

  28. I got an idea; let’s recommend President to create the “Fast Food Tax”. People that are too lazy to prepare or cook their own food at home should be penalized. It’s the fair thing to do; all that greasy KFC & McDonalds puts a burden on our health care system. Look at all the waste it produces every year it’s bad for the environment.

Oh, I got another one; let’s recommend the “Fart Tax” that way you can legally cut one in the elevator and smile knowing you paid for it, so everyone else should smell your shit. Or maybe the “I Don’t Give-A-Damn Tax” so when they come up with other unjustified Taxes; you won’t have to Give-A-Damn, because you’ll be exempt?
