Ahhh… Crazy Nancy Never Disappoints

You know when I have a week where I am just not getting enough crazy far left loon stuff, I start to get worried that they are being quiet as they build to something really big. I still think I am right on that, and we have not heard a lot from Crazy Nancy lately, which makes me suspicious. But the other night a friend sent me an email that was a forward. I often delete these without reading them, but coming from her I am certainly going to give it a read. And it was a quick blurb about a piece of legislation that Pelosi is pursuing. I read it and thought, that is too good to be true, she actually said that? Then I remembered it was Nancy. So I started researching, and here is what I found.

Let me begin with stating what the email was claiming. The email I received was:

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you’re so darned stupid that we’re going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That is what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read Below…..

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words, tax what you have made by investing in your retirement. This woman is a nutcase! You aren’t going to believe this.

Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401k and mutual funds! Alas, it is true – all to help the 12 million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities.

This woman is frightening. She quotes…”We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn’t Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.” (I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:

“We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as Americans”

Read that quote again and let it sink in.) “Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it”.

WOW, I said, she couldn’t have given us better ammunition against her if she tried. I mean how stupid could she be? I know that I feel the answer to that question is pretty damn stupid and demented. Of course you all know that I dislike Mrs. Pelosi. So as I said, I researched. And was both glad and disappointed. The email was a lie. The truth:

Mrs Pelosi has never made this comment and has not thus far worked to enact the legislation this email claims that she supports. She has gone on record supporting the repeal of tax breaks and subsidies of up to $33 Billion from energy and oil companies. That is far different than what she is being accused of in the above email. While I would not have been all that surprised had she been supporting such a measure, she has not done so to this point, and thus I felt it important to put this rumor to rest.

So why, dear readers, do I do such a service for Nancy Pelosi, the woman that I despise perhaps more than any other Washington politician? The truth. That is the reason. I have espoused over and over to all of you that I wish for everyone to think critically of what you believe, what you read, and what is told to you. I have told you to be skeptical and seek not what you want the truth to be, but instead find what the truth actually is. Too often we accuse those who oppose us of accepting idiotic premises or falling for the liberal media spin, denouncing them as fools who didn’t do the research before posting an opinion.

I myself almost fell into that same trap here because I wanted to believe her statement to be true. It fit with what I believed Nancy Pelosi to be, and therefore I was too eager to accept it without research. Doing so would make me no different than any of those who accept the media spin without questioning what they are hearing. It would make me no different than those who claim everything is Bush’s fault because that is what their local Democratic politician or newscaster told them was true.

So I present this as a cautionary tale first and foremost. Take care, everyone, to think critically about what you read. Do the research. You may find this in your email in the coming days or weeks. Take the time to hit “reply to all” and let your friends and family know that this email is a hoax.

What I seek is honest and intelligent debate. That cannot happen if we are having the debate with false information. We may not be able to get many liberal minded folks to listen to us and really question their thoughts or beliefs. But we can make sure that we, ourselves, and those that know us and trust us, do not fall into the traps that are laid out there. The creator of this email did so with the intent of getting people angry and rallied to his or her cause, but did so by using a lie, and therefore holds no principle that warrants our rallying to his cause. If the truth is not enough to sway the mind of those willing to think critically, then I submit that perhaps the position of the liar is not valid and right in the first place.

I know we dislike Nancy, but we must hold ourselves to that standard. We will beat her because we are right, and we will do so using values and principles, which will in the end make us better than her. And she will know it.

  1. Let me start by saying that I am not endorsing a site that I know very little about. But in response to your post, I looked to see what Nancy was doing today, tax and tea-party day, just to make sure that her silence was not some sort of anomaly. Not to invalidate your point, BUT Nancy appeared today on talkingpointsmemo.com arguing that those who participated in the tea party protests were those who adhered to Bush’s failed ecomonic policies and further that these were astroturf, not grassroots, protests. As a poster to this blog pointed out (again not to endorse a site, but it was wikipedia.com) astroturfing is …

“Astroturfing is a word in American English describing formal political, advertising, or public relations campaigns seeking to create the impression of being spontaneous “grassroots” behavior, hence the reference to the artificial grass, AstroTurf.

The goal of such a campaign is to disguise the efforts of a political or commercial entity as an independent public reaction to some political entity—a politician, political group, product, service or event. Astroturfers attempt to orchestrate the actions of apparently diverse and geographically distributed individuals, by both overt (“outreach”, “awareness”, etc.) and covert (disinformation) means. Astroturfing may be undertaken by an individual pushing a personal agenda or highly organized professional groups with financial backing from large corporations, non-profits, or activist organizations. Very often the efforts are conducted by political consultants who also specialize in opposition research.”

So while I whole-heartedly agree that we should avoid false information (even as I site questionable websites) this should not lull us into questioning every source of information we find. On this TMP site I watched a video feed of Nancy making these statements. It is the truth for which we search. She is bending language to suit her needs and the needs of her party. In the end, while the email you received was fraudulent, she remains, as she should, one of your most hated politicians in DC.

I have seen many, many liberals jackasses make that same remark about the Tea Parties yesterday and already this morning. All this means is that we have more work to do because the idiots in Government still don’t get it. And anything that Nazi Pelosi says does not suprise me.

  2. USW,

I first got that e-mail from a very good friend about a week AFTER she was confirmed as Speaker. I always research things like that, especially those that sound too good to be true. I then e-mailed my friend and told him the bad news that it was a hoax. Two days later I received another one from another friend that was just like that one. I have warned everyone on my e-mail list every time I get one of those. Guess I will be doing it again . . . 😦

  3. Sadly, I have lower standards. I check most of my information, but if its funny enough, I forward it anyway, with a statement about it being false.

An interesting quote heard today, “Perception becomes reality”. Meaning when the media falsely reports something often enough, that is what is believed, no matter what the facts.

Along with non-reporting of tea parties, several news sources are still reporting that 90% of the guns used for violence in Mexico are from the US. This after a report from BTF that 17% comes from America, the majority from Central America.

    • esomhillgazette says:

LOI, According to CNN, The Pres of Mexico himself has also debunked that report about the guns in Mejico.

      • Which leaves us wondering, are these reporters so poor at their jobs that they cannot find accurate information, or do they have an agenda they are using their positions to advance.

I think we all know the answer to that.

  4. Ray Hawkins says:

Not funny! I think I literally stopped breathing as I was reading this and all the blood drained from my head! (and this after I just received my quarterly statements showing me how much money I continue to lose).

  5. TOOT TOOT….that is why I like this site…..I enjoy getting the truth! Even if it is just a perspective of one’s truth. I just hate the fact that most of the news media finds it necessary to berate people who are trying to right an injustice. If Americans, like us, are extreme then where does that put the people who support womens rights, black rights and childrens rights. All we want is the government to act like they are paid by the people, and are for the people (not out for themselves). I think it is a shame that politicians thinks they have the right and the need to “BUY” votes. It is an autrocity that the news media thinks it needs to sway political thinking instead of reporting the news. If the media spent their time reporting exactly what our politicians were doing instead of slanting the news, America would be what it is suppose to be and the news media would actually look professional.

    • According to Marketwatch April, 2009, Freddie/Fannie executives received $210 million in bonuses this year. More than AIG. I misses seeing them being berated by congress. Have not heard MSM reporting this for days on end. Must not be newsworthy.

  6. Kristian says:

I was watching Fox & Friends this morning and they were showing clips of a MSM reporter at one of these Tea Parties. She was asking questions of one of the men attending this event and when the man tried to answer she cut him off. When the crowd started telling her to let him answer she gaffed the whole event off as extreme right wingers that were being promoted by the Fox Network. Gretchen took serious offense to this and I believe she and everyone else at Fox are going to let the MSM have it! I thought it was funny to a point and even sadder than it was funny. This is what our “Media” has come to. Turns out she was from CNN. They should all be embarrassed of her and for themselves.

    • “Embarrassed”? They have to have a moral to be embarrassed….Since their standards are so low their ability to be embarrassed is low also. Very unprofessional reporting. It is really sickening what our media has become.

  7. I have seen this email roaming around since 2006. But in fairness in search of facts, I have never been able to verify this with a interview or see in print anywhere. I have spent alot time trying to find the source of this email. No luck. Dont get me wrong, I by no means support Nancy, and disagree with her views on all the major topics. But I do believe in truth and true facts. I just have not found any that supports this email. I just wanted to give my information to these readers.

Nice article Chris. You just proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Nazi, er, oh, Excuse me, NANCY Pelosi is a Socialist to the core.

      • Chris Devine says:

Did you read the whole article or just the (fictional) parts that support your feelings of disapproval of the woman third in line for the presidency?

        • esomhillgazette says:

Read the whole thing there Chris. I already read the fictional part up there in US’s article. You did read the part where he said that it was untrue didn’t you? Or did YOU not read the whole thing? My disapproval of that 3rd Moron in line for the Presidency started long before today. I think when she declared that enforcing the Immigration Laws were UnAmerican was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. If you like her fine. Don’t expect me to either have any liking nor even respect for her! She is nothing but a mean, nasty spirited, Socialist Moron! And that’s being nice.

          • Chris Devine says:

Don’t hold back now. Give it to me straight.

Seriously though, I don’t see anything in the link I posted that supports your claims. Taking away tax breaks and subsidies from an industry that price gouges isn’t socialism.

            • esomhillgazette says:

Taking away money from businesses, big OR small and “spreading the wealth”, if not socialism, is sure not right. Socialism is what I call it. The fact is, that businesses made that money. The “unemployed, welfare recipients, minorities, and poor have no right to it. And exactly how is providing jobs hurting the economy?

              • Chris Devine says:
                • esomhillgazette says:

                  Ho Hum. You’re point?

                  • USWeapon says:

I don’t know, is it his point? Sorry I couldn’t help but take that shot, LMAO… you wanted your not you’re

                • esomhillgazette says:

Oh. You mean that part about Subsidies? Well I have to agree with US on that. Keeping govt OUT of business is not Socialism.

I was talking about the part where she said all that crap about Spreading the Wealth to the sorry and lazy and minorities.

Why is being in a Minority a reason for an automatic check? Why should business have to pay for their living?

Why other than Political gain, would she want to grant instant citizenship to Illegals?

Sorry. your reference to a Wiki definition is weak. So weak in fact I didn’t understand what you were implying.

            • Chris, you are right. There is nothing in your post that supports claims of socialism.

That does not mean Pelosi is not a socialist.

What is taking away bonuses that she/they enacted into law? They want to take the AIG bonuses, but leave Freddie/Fannie’s $210 million alone. Since they are completely government controlled, they must be more worthy.

Is there something about socialism controlling business? The government CAUSED the housing crisis, which brought about the financial crisis. The government FORCED banks to make loans to people who COULD NOT PAY THOSE LOANS. People on welfare and unemployment. ILLEGAL ALIENS.

That is socialism, and the financial crisis is their result. And the current income redistribution is socialist. And will end much like the USSR, except when we bankrupt America, Russia won’t be bailing us out.

            • USWeapon says:

And in that you are absolutely correct sir. Taking away a tax break or subsidy is in no way socialism, in fact it is closer to getting government out of business, and therefore, a step in the right direction.

  9. esomhillgazette says:

Hello, all you Nazi Pelosi fans out there in Internet Land! I know the Above EMail was False. But have know fear, it won’t be long until she will say or do something unimaginably stupid again. She is just too big a Moron not to. And if not her, we still have Smarmy Frank to fall back on. At the very least we can count on ol’ Smarmy to NOT answer a simple question when he is asked it. This makes him look like the lying, disengenuous idiot that he truly is.

It is truly amazing to me that, with thousands of people out there at the TP’s yesterday, both Dem and Rep, both Lib and Cons, all colors and faiths, and with most started by just plain folks, that STILL our POLITICIANS don’t get it! Dang! Most of you folks have College Degrees! Most of ya’ll are freakin’ LAWYERS! And yet you can’t understand simple phrases such as, “we don’t like our govt getting bigger!” and “we don’t like the way the Washington is spending all this money we don’t have!”. Is it that hard to understand?

And where could they possibly not understand that, why yes, this IS a “grassroots” movement. Probably because to understand would mean they would have to take notice and listen? Because that if they admitted that they are going in the wrong direction, they might have too rethink their positions? What a bunch of Morons! OOOHHHHHHH! Just wait until 2010!!!

    • Esom,

I found a new site I have to recommend. Seems to be pure fiction, with a political theme. Its called “Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi’s official homepage”.

Some of the humor is buried, but worth looking for, like her supporting “pay as you go budget discipline”, with “no new deficit spending”.

Her stated goals are to establish “A New Direction: to help make America safer, to restore the American dream and to Restore Accountability and fiscal responsibility to the peoples government.”

Lets see, do I feel safer with unrestrained immigration?
Were Dodd & Franks held accountable for Freddy/Fannie’ failure?
Was Dodd accountable for the AIG bonuses?

After reading a while, boom, the ironic humor hits you like a hammer to the gut.

      • esomhillgazette says:

Yeah man. Like for instance, what part of that bulldookey is true? I feel safer already!!! LMAO!

  10. I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss it although there are not sources supporting it at this moment. It might be nothing now but you best believe if someone thought of it, it will possibly come to play.

  11. Check out a great site. The address is politlbog.weebly.com It is great! The author is a great writer, and he meets the lefts insanity with intellegent, and reasonable attacks.

  12. (to the toon of “Dancing Queen”) Liberal Loon, see that spin, your the (high) taxes queen, only partially mental (not). That is my sentiment about Nancy.

  14. Since I am a trader, I may be biased on this, but don’t you think that all the ristrictions that actually have been proposed to limit traders are a violation of our rights? Some people have thought about making daytrading illegal! Not allowing people to make money in a way that doesn’t hurt people, WOW. What’s next? Maybe bieng a plumber should be illegal because it is good for all people to know about how piping and whatnot works! Or maybe we should outlaw restarants, because people should practice thier cooking skills daily! THE RIGHT TO MAKE MONEY IN A WAY THAT DOES NOT HURT ANYONE IS AN UNALIENABLE RIGHT JUST LIKE LIFE, LIBERTY (although these proposals do infringe on liberty) AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
