The Pope Comes A Calling

With the visit of Pope Francis upon us, I thought it would be interesting to start a discussion on what he says to Congress. I am not Catholic, but it should be interesting to know that in the conspiracy theory world, Pope Francis is the LAST Pope, according to the prophesies of St. Malachy, a 12th-century Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland. These prophesies have been dismissed as a meaningless by the Catholic Church, and rightly so, considering the final Pope, according to these prophesies is now the current Pontiff.

In recent times some interpreters of prophetic literature have drawn attention to the prophecies due to their imminent conclusion; if the list of descriptions is matched on a one-to-one basis to the list of historic popes since the prophecies’ publication, Benedict XVI (2005–13) would correspond to the second to last of the papal descriptions, Gloria olivae (the glory of the olive).

The longest and final prophecy predicts the Apocalypse:

In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit.
Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus, quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & judex tremendus judicabit populum suum. Finis.

This may be translated into English as:

In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.

There you have it, the Pope and the conspiracy theory that surrounds him. Pope Francis is going to make history as being the first Pope to address the US Congress. I have no doubt that after his speech, the CT world will be buzzing with new and improved theories, or by simply confirming the original. I don’t know what the Pope will say, but so far he has been somewhat controversial in his previous writings. With that said, this thread is dedicated to the visit of Pope Francis and all the Catholics who live a good and moral life!

  1. Considering that this is a political blog, in the future I will be posting as if I will be voting, rather than continuing to repeat the obvious. With that said, as far as the Republican nomination, as I sit here I would be casting a vote for Trump. There’s a long way to go so I reserve the right to change that vote 🙂

  2. Meaning no disrespect to anyone here…..but His Popiness needs to go home.

Now….having said that and probably pising off my Catholic friends here…..

The Russians, having established a base in Syria……YES….a base complete with a Brigade of T 82’s to “protect the airfield” from ISIS….(you know, those junior league terrorists)……………….sees a troop carrier land and troops unload with………………………………………………Chemical gear. Wonder what that means? (DRIPPING SARCASM INTENDED)

    • I have no problem with the Pope coming to Bless the Catholics with his presence. The way this country is going, every little bit helps. I just hope he leaves his Left Wing drivel in Italy.

As far as Russian, they know Obama won’t do diddly. They are free to do what they wish, the only response will be feckless words. Many people in the conspiracy theory world thinks the Russians will invade, which I laugh about and remind them of what it would take to do so, which they don’t have and are not capable. Outside of our military, which has been weakened a lot, we have 12.5 million deer hunters, 100 million gun owners and a strong sense of Patriotism when attacked. Only an idiot would consider an invasion (ROFLMAO) 😀

But, as I said yesterday, where are all the atheists and the Left Wing screaming about the separation of church and state over all their high dollar security? They should be screaming bloody murder and filing lawsuits to stop it…….but they are silent!

    • You haven’t lost my friendship. He’ll give the left all kinds of ammo to use on conservatives. Good ol John Paul II came to Detroit back in the day…Poletown to be exact. That was a good day for the Polish neighborhood and the entire SE Michigan. This Pope, he ain’t no JPII.

  3. To throw something out, I agree with Ben Carson on voting for a Muslim, I would not, anymore than I would vote for socialist Bernie Sanders. One wants a theocracy and the other a failed political system. Not sure why anyone would vote for either. Frankly, the question that was posed to bring this subject up was a gotcha question. Shame on the media, they are nothing but socialist shills. The only true free press is the alternative media.

    • Revisit TR on “hyphenated Americans”. If you are a Muslim-American, what comes first? An American of Muslim background, what comes first? So simple but missed by the dense masses and their leaders.

  4. 1.It is Obama who said at an Islamic dinner, “I am one of you.”
2.It is Obama who said in an ABC News interview, “My Muslim faith.”

10.It is Obama who purposefully omitted “endowed by our Creator” from his recitation of The Declaration Of Independence.

12.It is Obama who traveled the Islamic world denigrating the United States Of America.
13.It is Obama who instantly threw the support of his administration behind the building of the Ground Zero Victory mosque overlooking the crater of the World Trade Center.
14.It is Obama who refused to attend the National Prayer Breakfast, but hastened to host an Islamic prayer breakfast at the White House.
15.It is Obama who ordered both Georgetown and Notre Dame Universities to cover the cross before agreeing to speak there, but who has NEVER requested that the mosques he visited adjust their decor.
16.It is Obama who appointed anti-Christian fanatics to his corps of “czars”.
17.It is Obama who appointed rabid Islamists to the Department of Homeland Security.
18.It is Obama who said that NASA’s “foremost mission” is an outreach to Muslim communities to boost their self-esteem.
19.It is Obama who, as an Illinois Senator, thrice voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in favor of infanticide.
20.It is Obama who is the first President to not make a Christmas greeting from the White House, but instead decorated the White House’s Christmas tree with baubles of genocidal atheist Chairman Mao and transvestite Hedda Lettuce.
21.It is Obama who curtailed the military tribunals of Islamic terrorists.
22.It is Obama who refused to condemn the Muslim Fort Hood killer as an Islamic terrorist.
23.It is Obama who refuses to speak out against the horrific treatment and execution-by-stoning of women in Muslim countries, but instead submitted Arizona to the UN for investigation of alleged human-rights abuses.
24.It is Obama who, when queried in India, refused to acknowledge the true extent of radical global Jihadists, but instead profusely praised Islam in a country [India] that is 82% Hindu and the victim of numerous Islamic terrorist assaults.
25.It is Obama who funneled $900 million in U.S. taxpayer dollars to Hamas, and military contracts to the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
26.It is Obama who ordered the United States Postal Service to honor the Muslim holiday with a new commemorative stamp.
27.It is Obama who directed the U.S. embassy in the U. K. to conduct outreach to help “empower” the British Muslim community.
28.It is Obama who embraced the fanatical Muslim Brotherhood in the “Arab Spring” that overthrew Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who was America’s strongest ally in North Africa.
29.It is Obama who forces taxpayers to fund mandatory Arabic language and culture studies in grammar schools across our country.
30.It is Obama who follows the Muslim custom of not wearing any form of jewelry during Ramadan.
31.It is Obama who departs for Hawaii over the Christmas season so as to avoid being criticized for not participating in seasonal White House religious events.
32.It is Obama who, as president, has never ever gone to church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
33.It is Obama who who appointed as his chief adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
34.It is Obama who appointed a Muslim convert as CIA director.
35.It is Obama whose secretary of state John Kerry said Muslim interests drive US plan for war.
36.It is Obama who has opened the legal immigration floodgates to Muslims.
37.It is Obama who receives the highest approval ratings from Muslim Americans.
38.It is Obama whom a Pakistan Minister asked to be leader of all the world’s Muslims.

Should Trump really say anything on the subject?

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

      Your point is? (sarc)

    • Nope. He’s not running. Just leave him in the rear view mirror. Now if you can come up with a list like that for Hillary, then yeah.

      • Be patient, it’ll come 🙂 She’s more baggage than Atlanta International Airport on a holiday weekend.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

Here’s one I forgot about with Hillary. Years ago it came to the attention of the campaign finance group that Hillary made a serious chunk of change from the stock market. This is with the head of Tyson Foods standing over her shoulder directing her purchases and sales of stocks one day. Tyson was a serious contributer to any of Clinton’s campaigns. She used the excuse that she was just getting a demonstration and learning how to use the market. needless to say it was a serious amount of money she walked away with on that training day. Insider trading came to mind, back door to beat the limits of campaign donations. But like always, it was a right wing conspiracy and the SEC and MSM moved on. I’m sure everyone remembers the fiasco that occured when she tried to put together the healthcare laws back in the 90’s.

  5. On the Pope for all you non-Catholics, fallen away Catholics or people unfortunate enough to be exposed in Catholic Schools to “hip, with it” new Catholic doctrine over the last 30 years.

The Pope, has opinions like everyone else. His opinions are binding on him, no one else, Catholic or otherwise. However, when he speaks on “Faith and Morals” and when it if done actually from the throne of St. Peter, in the Vatican, with the fancy hat on, it is binding on Catholics. Suggested for everybody else but binding on Catholics.

So, when it comes to capitalism, global warming, the environment or any other secular thing, he may have a better platform but it is no different that the editorial page of the NY Times and no more binding. Except, for true believers who will try to convince you that it is somehow more that one man’s opinion.

Over the years there has been great controversy over the Church’s position on Birth Control. We batted this one around in religion class 50 years ago. The Pope has never spoken on it from the Chair of Peter. It is not recommended, may be a minor sin but by itself, it is not getting you excommunicated or sent to hell. This, by the way to me, as a young Catholic, was a great relief.

    • I still think that it’s good for Catholics to have the Pope visit. Maybe a few will rethink their ideals and actions and become better people down the road. That’s hope, which is in short supply.

  6. Colonel, a side note……What do you think the chances are that a hot headed (Russian-US) pilot might just take a shot at a hotheaded (US-Russian) pilot now that they are infesting the same airspace. I would assume that we shoot at ISIS or ASSAD forces. I would assume they shoot at REBEL or ISIS forces. If they catch us attacking Assad or we catch them attacking the “good” rebels, what happens?

That SOB in DC might just get us into a nuke war yet.

    • That SOB in DC might just get us into a nuke war yet.

Remember before the last election, when speaking to a high ranking Russian, which was caught on camera, that he didn’t think was on? He said he would have more flexibility. Is Syria what he was talking about? Maybe the whole plan is for several nukes to be traded in the winter? This would easily cancel the next elections, especially if the Northeast and East coast were targeted, as they would be without power and most people would have to leave because of winter. This takes me to a few things being monitored in the CT world, military equipment (on trains) movement. It’s all in the deep South and West. Nothing in the East or Northeast. A hit in NYC would crush the Economy. A hit in NYC, DC, Philly, Boston and Baltimore would be mayhem for months. Obama is sick enough to do something of this nature, and make himself King.

    • Stephen……as you recall, during the cold war, we bumped submarines, openly challenged the Soviets in the air, on land, and on sea. The cold war had its good points….open conflict, other than surrogates, was avoided. I do not think that MAD had much to do with anything…some think yes…some think no….I think no.

Today, we do not need very much because when one takes a pacifist attitude, then one gives up any semblance of respect…..and you cannot, in reality, think that you have any worthwhile standing in the world. If you want to be respected and have people step aside, you must be ready to wield the tools of war as well as the tools of economics as well as the tools of peace. If you get poked in the eye, you do not respond with a poke in the eye…..you respond with a poke in two eyes and stomp the foot at the same time. You must always…always….respond with force greater than was wielded against you or you are going to get more sand kicked in your face down the road because your adversaries then know you will have a “measured” response.

Equal response is a cowards way out. It is giving in…giving up…and broadcasting that you will not stand up to the bully….

I used to think that we would be better off being out of other people’s business. I am still inclined to think so as far as regime building…BUT….the older I get and the way that I see this country going….I have changed my mind on some things. Why is it wrong to be the big kid on the block? What is wrong with wielding our economic power to get what WE want? What is wrong with using economic leverage and maintaing a military advantage over the world? Where does it say we have to “kow tow” to world opinion and why do we care what the world thinks? If we have the money, we have friends……well….we have “friends”…..in quotes.

In this world, it is survival of the fittest and it should be that way…..what I see today, are generations being raised in political correctness that is the ruination of all. This is not a Star Trek world and it will not be,.,,,NOT EVER. There is no moral obligation to be anything to anybody……sigh!!!

      • Back as a High School sophomore in 1962, when I first heard about the “Pax Romana”, I thought it might be a good idea to have a “Pax Americana”. Have not changed my opinion in the intervening 53 years.

They may hate your guts but they will respect you.

I find it fascinating that the :”true believers” on either side despite their whinings have NO respect for human life. May hate Assad, may hate Mubarak, may hate the Shah, may hate Quadaffi but overthrowing them led to tens of thousands of more deaths than leaving them in place. Part of the Pax Romana was leaving the little buggers to run their own place. Just don’t cross a border and don’t challenge the big kid. A history of Israel from the time of Christ to 70 AD is instructive. Jesus was a capital case, Rome had to make the call on Capital cases everything else was Herod’s. The Macabees challenged Rome and that did not turn out well, not at all. The Colosseum was paid for with the temple treasure from Jerusalem.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

There was no nice guy presented in Star Trek original series. Kirk was always stomping on other cultures and aliens. Always a shooting conflict with the Klingons.

What does the starship Enterprise and TP have in common?

  7. There are obviously a lot of problems with the TSA-but how exactly are they supposed to handle issues like this one-especially when the person being questioned Believes that they should be allowed to just refuse to answer a totally reasonable and necessary question . We’ve had two things happen recently-the kid with the clock and now this -is society suddenly supposed to just ignore all the arguments about how necessary all these things are for our safety just because it involves a muslam and a trans person.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/09/transvestite_held_by_tsa_for_smuggling_an_anomaly_onto_plane.html

    • I figure “her” lawsuit will generate a million or two for “mental anguish”. Gotta remember that things in schools are being judged on who they THINK they are not who they are.

      • One has to wonder just how all this can be getting by all the psychologists in the world-I don’t remember them ever advocating denial. It not like trans people are unaware that their biology doesn’t match with their mental or emotional feelings-so why would anyone encourage them to deny that fact. How is that helpful or healthy?

        • May have said this before. Was advised by one of my favorite sane Psych profs back in undergrad to drop psych because it was changing. Remember like yesterday him talking about how “homosexuality” would be dropped in the next few years from the category of deviations. Used to tell us how the “vote” went every year at the convention in the late ’60’s. Ed was one of our youngest profs, probably 28 or so at the time.

He was also the guy who, on day one of Psych 101 told us, “Gentlemen, you are all here because you have a problem and want to understand it.” In a class of 50 guys, first stunned silence, then a chuckle or two then uproarious laughter. Hope that explains “psychologists” to you!

    • I laughed my butt off at this story VH! I couldn’t help but imagining what the TSA agents were saying in the background. “come here, this chick has a …..” Then the postings on social media had me rolling 🙂 Hilarious. Now, with that said, I do feel bad because HE has a mental illness, not a gender problem. Just like the rest of them.

    • Throw the bastard off the plane until he abides by the rules…..I do not give a rat’s ass what HE thinks he is….or what HE identifies…..it is like Jenner….he is a male and so was this puke….a male. An anomoly?????? Really???He has a penis…period…paragraph….case closed. He is a male……..you do not get special privilege trying to pass yourself off as other wise…..

I am not a fan of TSA…however….they are trained to find “anomolies” and when you disguise yourself it is for a reason. Own up to it…oh..shit, here I go again…..time to shut up.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Just like driving. It’s not a “right”. Especially when hundreds of lives are at stake. The EU as much as they gode us on human rights etc. They have zero tolerance on people suspected of some anomoly or question of their documentation or giving the flight or security people an attitude. YOU WILL BE SERIOUSLY INCONVIENIENCED. I was flying to Frankfurt during the 1st Gulf War. The passenger next to me in 1st class, was giving the crew a hard time…just complaining. The flight was delayed due to severe storms on the east coast. The crew never argued back. The pilots made up the delay and we landed on time. However when we arrived at the gate. The steward asked us politely to remain in our seats. Hatch opened, 2 Polizei officers standing there. They boarded walked up to the troublesome passenger. He was immediately arrested, handcuffed and marched off the plane. I’m sure he missed his connecting flight to Prague, his vacation desination. Anywhere in the United Kingdom and Ireland….do not joke or comment about the IRA or the “Troubles”. Your troubles had not even begun.

  8. All Hail the KING! The music is way over the top.

    • Damn, the Pope jumped off the Left cliff.

      • Told ya.

        • Finally, I have been hearing pundits remark on his being an Argentine. His political formation was that quasi Socialist Nazi Peronista thing.

Remember Argentina is made up primarily of three major ethnic Groups, Spanish, Italian and German. Extraordinarily well educated (to a fault) but none the less composed of the three groups who were all embraced fascism in Europe in the 20th Century.

I should also point out that in terms of talking about the poor native peoples of South and Latin America, the Pope is about as relevant personally to that as Obama is to the “black” American experience. Pope is a white guy raised in an Italian neighborhood. Mestizo he is NOT!

His Mom and Dad immigrated from Italy in the ’20’s. Had we not slapped severe immigration quotas on then for Southern and Eastern Europeans , he could very well have wound up in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue.

          http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/the-pope/9936408/Pope-Franciss-family-fled-Italy-to-escape-Mussolini.html

          • As far as I am concerned…..this shoots the separation of church and state in the ass…..damn…I said I was gonna shut up.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

I stopped a comment that I was posting a few days ago. The best definition of Pope Francis’s ideals are those of a Peronist. They’re pretty darn close.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

They emmigrated in ’29. They didn’t flee Mussolini, they just didn’t care for him. What isn’t said is that they may have been more socialist minded or communist in their political leaning. Mussolini could have been good. He just got into his head a bit of delusions of grandeur and reestablish the Roman empire. Aided and abetted by the league of nations when he went after Ethiopia. Then had to be bailed out of his other adventures by Hitler.

  9. It’s past time for freedom loving people to leave New Jersey. Take their money, skills, family and tax dollars and leave. Your welcome here, as long as you NEVER vote for a Democrat: http://eaglerising.com/24129/new-jersey-takes-mans-legally-owned-guns-reason-infuriating/

    • It is in fact a pain in the ass being stuck here. I too have two of those very same carbines and an AR-15 currently stored out of state which I have to cross the Delaware to visit. All were bought in the ’60’s

NJ like Australia had the misfortune of a M-1 carbine being used in a very Public Crime prior to the enactment of the “Assault Weapon Ban”. It was thrown in as an afterthought. It gets wackier and wackier. There are new AR-15’s being produced not stamped with the letters AR-15 which are legal because of that . On the other hand there are little M-1 carbine clones in .22 caliber being manufactured still banned because they do say M-1 on the receiver. So, legally in NJ you can but a variety of AR and AK platforms today all post ban manufacture but NOT, under NO circumstances an M-1 carbine.

Christie, in this state has been VERY supportive of gun rights. He has vetoed at least 5 ridiculous laws including further mag bans and expansions of banned lists and categories of prohibited persons. He has actually addressed that issue of the woman who was killed by the boyfriend while waiting for a permit and has vowed to speed up the process further (he already did kick ass at the State Police and local police level). It used to be that every town police chief thought he could add on more requirements to the application. The AG made it clear they cannot. Process went from 3 to 6 months to less than a month.

    • It is what it is…..don’t like it? MOVE YOUR ASS OUT……damn…I said I was gonna shut up.

  10. Would someone please tell me how to post a picture on here….not a copy from something but a picture that I can take and then post it….I would like to show Stephen my carbine and what I have done to it.

    • That is only possible with the premium upgrade (which I will look into). You can email the picture to me at gfrc2@aol.com . I will add it to the bottom of the article above. If the price isn’t crazy, I may upgrade to allow all of us to post personal pictures.

    • Had a pleasant Monday at the range, paying for it now, four rifles to scrub. I declared it “Enfield” Day in homage to the thin red line and the former British Empire not to mention it was the 100th Anniversary of Loos and the replacement of Sir John French with Douglas Haig.

September 25, 1915 – On the Western Front, the British use poison gas for the first time as they launch an attack against the German 6th Army in the Artois. Chlorine gas is released from over 5,000 cylinders, creating a poisonous cloud that drifts toward the Germans, opening a gap in their front line. The British advance and quickly seize their objective, the town of Loos, but then fail to capitalize on the four-mile-wide breach in the German lines. The Germans regroup and when the British resume the attack the next day they are mowed down in the hundreds by well-placed German machine-gunners. In all, the British suffer 50,000 casualties during the Loos offensive. British Army Commander John French is then sacked, replaced by Douglas Haig..

Funny a banged up SMLE # 1 Mk. III from 1915 put five shots in a four inch group at 100 yds. I had just bore sighted it. An almost mint Mk IV from 1943 couldn’t do that and two Mk V “Jungle” Carbines from ’44 and ’46 with pristine bores couldn’t either. Happy to see my reloads worked though. The 3,000 147gr. tips I scored through Gunbroker should keep my Enfields happy for a while.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

I have a question to the elderly shooters in the group. Is there a specific type of opthemologist one should go to, to get the correct lenses for shooting. Age has taken its toll on the eyesight.

It’s amazing all the lessons that continually have to be relearned in warfare. Like you know darn well that Napoleonic tactics were taught at West Point when many of the generals of the Civil War attended. Much less while R E Lee was commandant. The lessons learned and weapons invented during that war should have been studied by the European armies. Applied in the Franco Prussian War but then lost. But then comes a sweious question…how much is the situation set up and restrains put upon the military by the politicians and then the warriors get blamed for being stupid by the politico’s.

Sort of like our Colonel describing how Bin Laden was in sight and could be taken down but the politicians said NO. 10 more years. Or the experiences in the Balkans. The warriors doing what was the right thing to do could have ended the genocide. But NO the politicals let it continue. Today the cycle is coming around in force bigger than before creating a crisis that will make the 90’s look like peacetime in the Carpathians.

        • I’m lucky, have never had a problem. Been wearing glasses since I was 10 for distance,. Have the Rx changed every few years (up and down) but still have to take them off to read. I understand cataracts play havoc with shooting. I’ve also noticed evening driving is a pain in the ass and shooting on an overcast day is not optimal. That I know has to do with age and the eyes ability to dark adaptation. After your 20’s what had taken 5 minutes becomes 30.

I’ve never done it yet but a friend once suggested that when you go to have your eye exam, have the doc write you a prescription to 20-10. Some kind of old fighter pilot trick.

          • # 2. It has been said by no less an authority than Winston Churchill that if the British Generals had studied the American Civil War or the Boer War, they would have realized the age of Napoleonic warfare was over. Between rifled barrels becoming common and fortifications and artillery becoming accurate, formation fighting was suicide. Machine Guns were just the icing on the cake. That is why I still tear up at places like Gettysburg or The Somme.

You are a movie guy. When “Patton” came out the Viet-nam thing was still going strong along with the general Hollywood anti-war attitude, do you remember how they kept coming back to I believe the blackboard where you saw the steadily growing number of casualties? I never thought that movie was “pro Patton”, not at all. I had read the Farago book which it was based on and knew that Patton’s way of avoiding maximum casualties was basically the same as Bedford Forrest’s, “Get there firstist with the mostist”. Get it over with as quickly as you can.

Pershing’s strategy and WW 2 strategy was based on that and probably saved a lot of lives on both sides. We started out in Korea that way but the Chinese intervention scared the hell out of us. We have not done “firstist with the mostist” since. I can still remember the whining in DC about Viet-nam and privileged sanctuaries. “What if the Russians come in, what if the Chinese come in”? Hell, they were in, “UP TO THEIR NECKS” as Gregory Peck might have said (with emphasis) in “12 O’Clock High”.

            • Dale A Albrecht says:

I hire a battlefield historian at the Civil War sites. I get a personal insight and stand right where the on field commanders were standing and making decisions. Totally worth the price. I was planning on spending 3 days at the battlefields around Fredericksburg. Planned on taking them in sequence. 1st the one at Marye’s Hill where Burnside wasted thousands….But I just decided to head to Newport RI instead and do some sailing. No trauma and head wagging and all politics put aside….gettysburg blew me away. I’m not going in sequence, but I did Sharpsburg/Antietem like that. McClellan did so much damage I believe the conflict could have been ended much earlier if he truly did his job, but he couldn’t bring himself to really use the power he had at his disposal. Fear of losing the ones he cared for. How many more died on both sides due to that feeling. Lee is just as guilty…knowing after Gettysburg and Vicksburg they were done but needlessly continued….but then maybe he truly believe to have a lasting peace you needed a true defeat…..but then there could not have been a negotiated peace in that war. It had to end with the destruction that eventually took place. Look at the negotiated peace after WWI. It set up WWII with even more destruction. Now, it’s like major surgery to get the defeated nations in Europe or Japan to fight. They got whooped. No doubt. Korea…the negotiations after my entire lifetime are still going on with a daily crisis De Jour like the Kardashians.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

Thanks…..Have an astigmatism all along but the last few years the near sight is failing and getting worse.

I find it very interesting the visitation by Pope Francis. How Obama refused to meet the Dalai Lama out of fear of offending China, when they overran and continue to oppress Tibet. But everyone is all friends especially when the Pope is all for Obama’s agenda. And China’s leaders are coming for a visit next week. I fear a lightning rod has been placed on Francis’s head. China’s been even recently stopped concerts by acts that have proclaimed support to the Dalai Lama. Even NPR said that China has blocked Google, Twitter and I think Facebook. So how does this fit with Obama? I think right down to his real beliefs. The people should shut up and do what they are told and I don’t care what you think. I wouldn’t have to lie to you if you’d just take your medicine which is GOOD for you.

    • Link doesn’t work V.

      • Not sure why. Oh well-I’ll do it the other way 🙂

This mom was in a coma. Then her newborn baby cried. What happened next was beyond amazing.

CONCORD, North Carolina, September 23, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Shelly Cawley, a nursing student, and husband Jeremy Cawley, a YMCA director, weren’t trying to get pregnant, but they weren’t trying not to.

When Shelly found out she was pregnant with their first child, she and husband Jeremy were very excited. “Having a child with the person you love is such a big deal,” Shelly said.

The couple planned a natural delivery, and they attended weekly classes on natural childbirth. “We knew what we were going to do,” Shelly explained, but “then, all of the sudden that plan was taken away from me.”

At eight months’ gestation, doctors discovered a blood clot in Shelly’s leg, so they began giving Shelly blood thinners.

Eventually, Shelly’s water broke, and Jeremy took her to the hospital. But labor did not progress.

Shelly had preeclampsia, a disorder characterized by high blood pressure and too much protein in the urine. Preeclampsia, if untreated, can lead to liver and kidney dysfunction, and fluid in the lungs. Shelly was also diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening condition involving the rupture of red blood cells, elevated liver enzymes, and a low platelet count.

Doctors told Shelly her baby had to be delivered immediately by emergency C-section.

Going in for an emergency delivery, Shelly had “a premonition.” “I was telling the doctors that I was scared I wasn’t going to wake up,” she said.

        She didn’t.

The C-section was successful, and Rylan Grace Cawley was born. But Shelly failed to recover. As Jeremy was holding his newborn daughter, doctors informed him that Shelly’s lungs were filling with fluid and she was having trouble breathing on her own.

Eventually, Shelly fell into a coma. Physicians later discovered that the baby inside her womb had been holding Shelly’s blood clot in place and, when Rylan was delivered, the clot migrated to Shelly’s lung, causing a pulmonary embolism.

Shelly’s blood pressure was 60/40, and her heart rate was over 180 beats a minute. She was hooked up to what doctors called “the last-chance ventilator,” pumping air into her lungs so violently that it rattled her hospital bed, husband Jeremy said.

Doctors were convinced they could only wait and see if Shelly would wake up from the coma. “The doctors had done all they could and it was clear, they absolutely thought they were losing her at this point,” Jeremy said.

That was when the doctors decided to bring the family together. “We didn’t know how she was going to make it,” nurse Ashley Manus told the Washington Post.

The medical staff at Carolinas HealthCare System Northeast use the “skin-to-skin” method to strengthen the mother-baby bond. The physical touch stimulates the newborn’s brain development, stabilizes heart rate, and helps maintain body temperature. Nurse Manus suggested to lay little Rylan on Shelly’s chest. “If that was going to be it for her, we wanted to be able to tell the baby: ‘Your mom held you,'” she reasoned.

“Maybe somewhere in Shelly’s subconscious, she would hear her baby was calling out to her,” Manus said. “We just thought, it can’t hurt, [so we] might as well give it a try.”

Nurses brought little newborn Rylan into Shelly’s room. “I was hoping somewhere deep down, Shelly was still there and could feel her baby, hear her baby and her mother’s instincts would come out,” Manus anticipated.

Jeremy explained that the “hope was that if Shelly could smell the baby, feel the baby, hear the baby – even in the coma – it would give her a reason to fight. They needed her to start to fight.”

They put the newborn on her mother’s chest, but tiny Rylan went right to sleep. “We pinched Rylan and tickled her a little bit so that Shelly would hear her cry,” Jeremy shared.

And then, little Rylan – on her mommy’s chest – cried.

As soon as her baby cried, Shelly’s vitals jumped.

Jeremy said Rylan made the difference in saving her mother’s life. “All the doctors said there’s no way they would have gotten to that point if Shelly hadn’t made it through [that] night,” he said.

Doctors kept Shelly in her coma so that she could get the care she needed, including 21 units of blood, ventilators, and a heart-and-lung bypass machine. As the week-long ordeal continued, Jeremy put Rylan in a t-shirt of Shelly’s, so Rylan could smell her mother. He even learned how to pump his wife’s breast milk. “It was such an emotional and spiritual journey for our family while she was gone,” Jeremy said. “God’s hand was all over everything.”

Finally, Shelly awakened. Jeremy first asked her “if she knew who I was…, if she knew my name – and with the most breathy voice she said my name,” Jeremy Cawley said. “It was just such a huge thing.”

Then, Jeremy brought one-week-old Rylan in to her mother. Shelly “still couldn’t move,” Jeremy explained, “but you could see her eyes – as soon as I brought in Rylan, her eyes locked on Rylan. She just stared at her. And I laid Rylan on her chest.”

As the Washington Post reports, Jeremy brushed the hair from Shelly’s forehead and asked her a question: “Are you happy?”

        Shelly nodded yes.

“I’ve got stories to tell you,” he said.

  11. Dale A Albrecht says:

Well…”it’s over” Yogi Berra passes away at 90. One of the all time greats and alway a class act. May he rest in peace.

  12. Dale A Albrecht says:

Just caught a headline that Pope Francis just canonized Friar Junipero Serra. Granted as a Califorinia legacy along the “El Camino Real” the missions are history. Just like Civil War memorials. But this argument over his elevation and canonization has been going on for quite some time, like decades. Whereas he spread the faith, but also embodied the enslavement of the indigenious population by the Spaniards within the mission system. I guess only “Black Lives Matter” in the White House and not the native Americans.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

But I’m sure those thoughts never crossed the administrations mind.

    • Had I not read Fehrenbach’s books on the Injuns and Texas, I might have agreed but as I told someone earlier today on Facebook, the diseases the Spaniards brought killed something like 90% of the native folks. Not a hell of a lot left. their religious beliefs probably took a real hit when their gods couldn’t protect them.

You also have to understand the power of the Christian message. This small sect came out of the mideast and conquered the Roman Empire and beyond. they sure as hell did not accomplish that at the point of a spear.

  13. So….the Pope can politicize from the pulpit at the White House…and then politicize before Congress……………………..but when a priest or pastor from a church in Anywhere, USA does it….it is political speech and revocation of IRS status…..and a violation of the separation church and state…..interesting……why aren’t the protestors out?

  14. Gman…..gonna try to send you a picture…….if anyone wants to know how to legalize your AR 15 or CAR 15 or 30 cal Carbine in states that are banning assault style weapons……simply change the look.

For example, I have a .30 CAL Carbine that I can take into any state at any time to target shoot or hunt……even NJ.. IT is a carbine that was picked up by my dad on Iwo Jima. They were in a pile of weapons from Marines that did not make it.

I took the weaon to the local gunsmith….and had it restocked and reblued. The stock that I put on it was a sport stock . The blueing did nothing more than restore the metal barrell. The US and the Serial number is still on the weapon as required by Federal Law…but the hunting stock and sling,,,,,made it a hunting rifle, in the eyes of the law. It is no longer considered an assault weapon because…………………it does not look like one. Any state that allows high powered hunting rifles…..carbines and AR 15’s are allowed if you change the look to a hunting rifle…..you can still load a clip, magazine, or drum…..but just change its spots.

    • Sorry Colonel. I too have a sporter stock for the carbine and mine does not have the bayonet lug. I have five round mags that are flush with the stock but the Carbine is banned here by NAME. So, unless you scrub the US Carbine, cal. 30 M-1 from the receiver, you are out of luck. In NYC, all semi-autos are banned like in Australia. Really wish that the NRA or NY State federation of sportsmen would move on that in court. It would never hold, there is precedent now. the detachable magazine

    • Send it anytime Colonel. We don’t have an “assault weapon” issue in Pa. However, hunting rifles/shotguns are limited to “manually” operated only. No semi-auto for hunting, makes for better marksman and smarter hunters. “Assault” rifles are quite common with a high ownership rate. Gee, want to guess why?

  15. Oh….Gman…………………where are all the conspiracy theorists on Jade Helm today? The operation has been running for awhile now and I am not hearing about civilians being thrown in jail…nor secret invasions in the night and capturing of towns….nor the empty Walmarts suddenly full of jailed American dissdents, UN equipment, etc. No trains have been spotted loaded with UN equipment nor UN uniformed soldiers anywhere…..

I wonder if they, the conspiracy theorists, are now saying that since the attention has been drawn to it, everything was moved “underground”….or gone “black”.

THere has been no mention of the parachute drop conducted at Fort Hood, Fort Bliss, White Sands, or the Four Corners….it was the 82 Airborne Division jumping into different terrains and barometric settings for training….but I did not hear of cars being stopped or the power grid being taken…….

    Just wondering.

    • They have the claim that all the bad stuff was called off because of the awareness provided by the alternative media. Logical, but not all that likely 🙂

      • LOL….that is a hoot….because…..it is still going on….I am finding it amazing that 2,000 troops dropped in five different locations and no one hit that alarm button saying …see..I told you so.

  16. Just saw a snippet of the Pope where he was saying that the world needs to be more sensitive to immigrants and take them in…..

So……I am going to go to Rome….and ask to be taken in by the Vatican. Let’s see if they practice what they preach.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Pope Francis is not using the Papal apts so they are an option.

      • Cool…..then I can get on food rations, and health rations and live there forever and pay no taxes. Hell of a deal.

        • I would actually like to see how well trained their Pikemen are.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

Only communion wafers and wine served.

Embracing migrants is a noble request. If we are nations of LAW then we must demand following of such laws. Not one person signing a EO wiping out the very laws he swore to uphold….I also feel strongly that if a migrant comes to this country they are doing so NOW voluntarily. Abide by the laws and customs. If you choose not to there are plenty of other nations that you will fit right in. Except I’ll bet most of those the doors are shut tight…..What a joke the EU saying that they will contribute 1B to aid those countries being invaded with their border security….This BS in Europe has been going on for so long it’s laughable, but not due to it’s seriousness. What I do not understad while having lived in Europe and travel their. Most of the PEOPLE are dead set against these migrants who refuse to basically join. That goes to show what an appointed government of unelected officials can do. Just like our unelected regulators writing regulations that become law how ever the hell they want to become an unmanagable monster and congress which is suppose to have oversight much less the people don’t stand a chance.

Just a thought….I believe most people in this nation would fight to save this country if the situation called for it. Why are the Syrians not fighting for theirs? Sure Assad was a dictator, but the people seemed to be a heck of a lot better off under him than the way it is now…..what nation is next in the M/E…chaos has to be the goal. Maxwell Smart seem to be running our policy, bumbling from one “crisis” to the next.

          • I watch almost everybody on TV go after Assad, generals, politicians, pundits, religious leaders, feminists. Nobody asks the magic question , “IS THERE A CHANCE IN HELL THAT WHATEVER REPLACES HIM WILL BE ONE IOTA BETTER?”

            • Dale A Albrecht says:

I think the track record of those that have been overthrown by our prompting either or by direct action tells that story. NO. If all the analysis keeps showing tribalism is the bedrock on which the countries there rest on, it will require a strong militarist leader by force to hold the groups together or let chaos reign. At least in Egypt the political leaders existed only as long as the military allowed them to lead. And there the military has shown itself to be pretty level headed all in all….If ISIS was the future of Syria and expanding elsewhere give me Saddam and fight to retain Assad. They for example had pride in their country’s heritage regardless of who built it. It was what it was at the time.

  17. The Pope has demonstrated that he is in fact an Argentine Socialist. Moreover, in my humble opinion, he is a coward. Discussing “life” he spent sometime on the Death Penalty, did not mention abortion or euthanasia by name. So, I guess his priority is saving the guilty over the innocent.

He tells us the “family” is under siege but never mentions what the siege is.

The apologists are already in the , “What he meant was……” mode. It has been said that as a Bishop in Argentina, he, at the very least, looked the other way when the Junta ran wild. Guess he did not want to wind up like Romero. He is a go along-get along kind of guy. From this point on, unless I see something different in Philly or NY you can just refer to him as “Obama’s Pope”

    • From a non-Catholic, I can see your point. He is surely a socialist. Waiting for an Altar boy to come out of the closet anytime now. He also has that look.

      • That is not likely, this guy is a Jesuit, they have always been pretty squared away in that department. On the other hand, their politics are all over the map.

      • Really G? Geez….

On another note, it truly is amazing watching the right wing twist themselves in knots over this pope…makes for some good comical relief.

        • You seem to have forgotten my strange sense of humor. But seriously, the guy is a Marxist and simply proved it. Where is your clan and why ain’t they crying separation of Church and State? They piss and moan about a F-ing picture of Jesus in a school, but nothing about the Pope hugging ya’lls Messiah and getting all this tax money spent on his security. believe me when I run into one of those “separation” freaks, I will be reminding them of the last few days 🙂

          • Correct me if wrong, but wasn’t the Pope invited to speak by the GOP? Not to mention that the Pope is a head of state…

            • Yes, he was. I have stated that I have no problem with his visit. I think it’s great for Catholics. It isn’t a thing for me, I’m not Catholic. However, my thoughts on “where” are the “separation” freaks stand. Let some Bishop get scheduled to visit a public school and see if they are quiet then. BWAHAHAHA! Not likely 🙂

            • Hiya Buckster……how is the counselor these days?

Interesting take on something…..you said ” Not to mention that the Pope is a head of state…”

Being a “head of state”, does that give him immunity for making political statements from the pulpit?

My take on it,,,,,if the Pope can do it…so can any preacher anywhere without retribution and screams of “separation of church and state……

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

I agree on that point. getting along to avoid being a martyr in the face of the juntas not so long ago…..I have much more respect for the late John Paul II in that regard…..The distinction you made about church policy in the mode and location are true. However, I have totally though if a church, any church wished to get involved in political debate. Give up the tax exempt status, let the property be taxed like any other corporation and then say anything you damn well want. The fact that most church administrations are covered under LLC by-laws is a point made in the ACA debate….this point is not aimed at just the catholic church but all.

      • But black churches and good old reverend Wright, now that’s a horse of a different color isn’t it?

I do wonder though. It used to be very common for churches to comment on politics and policy. Think back to the time of MLK. Certainly I have no problem with what he preached and how he preached it from the Pulpit. The standard seems to have changed. One of the reasons that Church leaders do not specifically attack Pelosi and her ilk over abortion is because the left has basically tightened that noose around their neck. I expect that it will eventually be used on gay marriage and other atrocities. They control the debate these last 40 years and show no likelihood on letting up.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

Politics or social justice is a fine line. I truly believe MLK would NOT be in league with Jackson, Sharpton and their ilk. He would be tearing into the blacks for allowing themselves to be hoodwinked and bribed into a new form of slavery. They’re bought and sold and used a tools just like in the days of yore.

  18. Starting to give my ’03 Springfield a run for the money as my “favorite”.

    http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/01/daniel-zimmerman/gun-review-lee-enfield-smle-mk-iii/

  19. Dale A Albrecht says:

Abortion and birth control including infanticide has been around in societies for ever. Sometimes condoned and sometimes not. I will lump “church” into a general term. I’ll bet that the churches view on anti-abortion and birth control really took hold during the times when the population was being wiped out by plagues and war. Survival of the culture. Most religous laws are guides for that society at large. Such as dietary restrictions in the Jewish faith and Islam are quite similar. Sprang from the same well head.

Figuring that the vast majority of the native american population (north and south) was killed off by disease and not warfare. There were not nearly enough migrants/invaders from europe to work the mines, plantations etal unless you overwrote their societal behavior which did include some harsh rules like “putting out”, both young and old alike. Expand that from regional resource limitations and societal behavior needed to survive and now with the industrialization and means to literally kick that can down the road. The implosion will be catyclismic and will go down as one of those choke points in genetic history. Unless an astroid hit or super volcano intrevenes 1st.

  20. @D13, Cool stuff from the CT world. They are beginning to pass on the words of some retired Colonel (HMMM…) about Jade Helm 15 was actually used by Special Forces to look for nuclear weapons being smuggled in by ISIS. Of course placing sensors near smuggling routes and roadways in the Southwest wouldn’t be a bad thing, if the threat is real. Maybe all the hoopla was just fluff to keep the eyes looking elsewhere 🙂

  21. Dale A Albrecht says:

With the UN’s push and failure at combating global warming/climate change/ozone holes etal…all in the guise to distribute wealth to the 3rd world. My reasoning is that they keep harping that the wealthy nations have to share technology and developthe 3rd world. If the industrial nations and demand for consumer goods is so evil, why expand that lifestyle into the majority of the worlds population and exacerbate the resource depletion.

Now the they’re trying a different tack. Eliminate world poverty in 15 years. Yeah right and who’s to pay for it. The west certainly can not. But then again, the action of printing money is for all intents and purposes “free”…..after affects are not their problem.

  22. I just witnessed Obama, who seemingly can’t stand the fact that the Pope is getting all the attention, just do his best Pope impersonation and go along a line of people (just like the Pope) and shake hands with folks. Apparently, Obama needs that admiration so he can forget his pathetic Presidential failures. What a sorry excuse for a man.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

That is good news. The GOP leadership has capitulated with barely a whimper on every issue to Obama. They’ve been so worried about the dip in the polls everytime they buck him and possible impact in 2016. I can safely say, they keep doing what they’re doing and the conservatives that got them the majority leadership will vote elsewhere. It’s been “what’s the difference”? Their oversight committees have been a waste and a dog and pony show and have not gone after any EO or regulation the administration has enacted the stretches or violates the actual legislation….I honestly think that requirements to fill house and senate leadership positions has got to be the most ill-spoken and rated an -F on public speaking. That includes Pelosi and Reid…But I guess it doesn’t matter, they all don’t mean what they say and their words can be twisted and weaseled.

      • Maybe the next person from the Republican Party to take the seat will at least pretend that the parties are different before capitulating. It would make the JAC’s and Anita’s feel a wee bit better 🙂

    • It is already upsetting to my liberal friends who thought he was a very cooperative guy for Bi-partisianship. Don’t think they will ever get it. Now, how do we get rid of McConnell?

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

What the democratic party deems bi-partisan is 100% capitulation. If they do not get what they want via a bill it will be done with EO’s

  23. Dale A Albrecht says:

I was just reading about the intial proposed amendments to the constitution. The list had been whittled down to twelve and 10 passed becoming the “Bill of Rights” In the reading below, the second amendment to fail has been passed not to long ago due to congress not putting a ratification “by” date on the amendment. However the one that is left really takes on a relevence today. With the growth in cities and the set limits of members in the house, the votes in the cities pretty much erase any “out of city” population. more likely that is achieved by jerrymandering, so the number of house seats stays constant. Madison had it right when he listened to the anti-federalists and drafted the amendment.

We have sort of the inverse happen here. The way the federal districts are aligned they pull in areas that are always going to vote democrat, even though the population centers are very conservative with heavy military presence.

  24. Dale A Albrecht says:

For all you fliers on SUFA. I was just watching the video of the the A-380 landing in Germany with a strong cross wind. Kudo to the pilots, but I thought based on the videos, that they would have incorporated landing gear like the B-52. Able to turn the gear 20 degrees in a cross wind. The snap that seemed to occur during that landing sure will cause stress failures.

The only nuclear accident I ever remember happening with a B-52 was the one in Spain during the 60’s. There were many more “domestically” Who remembers those…SK? you were USAF

    • I was USAF, I only recall one during my time (I was at a fighter base) when someone left nukes on a B-52 and it flew over from one base to another and back, which in itself is against policy and also didn’t have the required security. A few folks got in trouble and it was over with. I was never stationed at a base with nukes (that I knew of), although there were times when the security protocol said something different.

    • HIgh Dale…saw the pics on that and the film…..perfect high wind landing…crab to the approach, kick the appropriate rudder, drop the wing, land on the up wind gear, keep the nose wheel off the runway as long as possible, steer with rudder usage until the speed slows and the nose drops…..cut power to one half on the upwind engines….let it roll out. The news commentators went ballistic thinking it was a troubled landing….it was perfect.

  25. Good one for VH here. I always love when the world goes “above and beyond” for a preemie. An IN YOUR FACE rebuttal to the Planned Parenthood vivisectionist supporters.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Several years ago I had the privilege of spending a month in Irvine TX for business purposes. Very few of our offices allowed us to get a car for the time there. We relied on taxis and some people who did bring vehicles. Major problem that the taxi drivers were mostly muslim and WOULD NOT pick you up from a restaurant that served alcohol. They’d swing by look and then just race off. At one restaurant the owner wound up taking us back to our hotel……nobody was drunk. We all looked professional, but they refused. That is BS…..like at DFW most cabs had a sign…NO DOGS, didn’t say no pets. Most couldn’t speak any english even at the stand at the airport. They’d just hand you the Tom Tom and you’d type in the address. Had one guy go by the exit, could have easily gone to the next one and come in the back way to the hotel. He frick’in stopped and backed up on the freeway. That caused some chaos.

        • I bet. This country is getting itself in a world of trouble. Unless we fix the anchor baby issue (it is not what the left claim it is) and the welfare, free govt cookies issue, it will not stop. Frankly, if they come here they should be given 3 months, working, no benefits until a legal citizen and assimilate. First time Sharia Law is spoken, on a plane they go. If people don’t like this country, send them on their way. We don’t need them here, we can get along just fine. I have no problems with controlled immigration and using work visa’s for job openings.

Another thing. If there are job openings, those on govt benefits can take them or lose ALL benefits. Temp jobs wouldn’t equate to lost benefits, for example. Benefits should also have a time limit. I get that folks have some bad luck and have no problem helping them. NO more lifetime welfare queens, NO more increased benefits when a child is born to someone on benefits. It’s BS whats been going on with the baby issue. I’m fed up with paying taxes and seeing people skate through life while I work my ass off. It is long past due for change.

        • Dale…that is Irving, Tx and they still do that…you cannot get a taxi to take you to a Christian church that is driven by a Muslim….

  26. With all the talk about Sharia, non-assimilation etc,, when the next Islamic terrorist attack occurs, which it undoubtedly will, would it be appropriate for “we the people” to DEMAND the complete removal of all Muslims from US soil, with some exceptions? This question will be asked by many people in the future, so maybe getting a headstart on thinking about it couldn’t hurt.

    • I dunno G…the next time some Christian commits some terrorist attack would it be appropriate for us to start asking about the complete removal of all Christians from US soil? What about Jews the next time some Jewish guys commits some terrorist attack?

      • Since you reminded me that is your ilk who commit a majority of mass murders (a statistical fact), I see a starting point 🙂 As far as Christians….when they start running around and lopping off heads in the name of Jesus, you might be on to something. BUT….since they are not the religion of capitulation I’m not really concerned about that.

Now back to the question…is it time to start talking about it or should we wait till the next big explosion and mass murder? 😉

        • What do you mean by the statement “my ilk commit a majority of mass murders”?

So the next time you hear a story of a Christian committing some terrorist attack in the name of his religion, would you start to consider rounding up all Christians and kicking them out of the country? Or does this sound as crazy to you as the idea actually is!?

          • “So the next time you hear a story of a Christian committing some terrorist attack in the name of his religion, would you start to consider rounding up all Christians and kicking them out of the country?”

Buck, you speak as though there was a ‘last time’ a Christian committed a terrorist attack in the name of his religion. I do not recall the last time this happened (or the first time) so please enlighten me with specifics.

Gman, not only is it time to talk about it, it is time to take action. We have plenty of FEMA camps across the country, time to start using them. 🙂

            • The Christian strawman is typical Left Wing maneuvering to stifle debate deemed not politically correct. Won’t work with me, because I’m not politically correct and never will be. You should see some of the T-shirts I where 🙂

          • Buck,, Forgive me last night for being rude. Hope today finds your and your family are happy and healthy 🙂 As far as your argument, it’s a strawman and utter nonsense, as no Christians have ever run around in the last two Centuries and looped off heads in the name of world dominance on behalf of their God. If history serves me correct, it has never happened. With that said, I’m asking a question about modern times and events that are actually occurring daily throughout the world. I’m not asking about a discussion about some Left Wing Fairy tale strawman with no basis of history to support it. If you say “The Crusades” I will remind you that the Crusades was IN RESPONSE to MUSLIM atrocities. So, let me just say that history is on the verge of repeating itself.

I would rather there be discussion, versus knee jerk reaction after some horrible terrorist attack. At least with peaceful discussion, people have some knowledge of what to expect in the event of the next big terrorist attack. European countries should be doing the same thing. As far as your last question….NO, it doesn’t. It’s simply a discussion. We have lots of discussions about lots of things. Discussion and debate is good. It seems you would rather stifle discussion if the subject doesn’t fit your politically correct world view. I’m not going to pretend to be politically correct because I’m not. All subjects are open for debate, it’s called freedom, something I wonder if those of you on the left even understand.

            • Let’s see…Dr. Tiller and the many attacks on abortion clinics come to mind. Oh, and recently there was that planned attack on the muslim community in upstate NY by Doggart.

But no, just a strawman argument with absolutely no examples….

              • ROFLMAO! So one or two people, who are likely mentally ill, makes a major issue the likes of ISIS and Al Qeida? WOW, that’s a stretch my friend. I do remember the attacks on abortion centers, many, many years ago, when was the last one? 1970’s? I’m not familiar with the mosque attacker, but OK. Did any of them who did these things claim to do it in the name of their God or because they want their religion to rule the world?

              • Umm…last attack on a clinic wasn’t all that long ago – maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Perhaps even more recently…

And yes, they all claimed they were doing it in the name of their God / religious beliefs.

              • After a quick search, Wikipedia, I saw very little to claim that all of these attacks were carried out by Christian’s. Although it’s likely that religion had something to do with it, I would say that the death’s caused by these anti-abortion terrorists PALES in comparison to the 50+ million dead babies who’s innocent lives were taken (VH will love this). I’m surprised you even brought up the abortion issue after all the stuff that’s been coming out. Silly you 🙂

But, back to subject. These isolated events also pale in comparison to the actions of Boko Harem, ISIS and Al Qeida, even YOU can admit that. These groups are armed, some heavily, militias. Abortion clinic bombers aren’t even close in size, scope or death toll. You are comparing crab apples to grapefruit. Big difference my friend.

              • You asked for examples of Christian terrorism; I ha e you examples of Christian terrorism.

But since you don’t like that, you instead decide to rationalize their acts as somehow justified. Very telling.

              • Actually, I’m not the one who asked 😉

              • Rick asked first, then you followed up.

              • I’m afraid I get to be the “moderate” here. It is all a matter of degree. Independent nuts vs. nuts following the lead of organized and directed international terrorist fanatics. There can be no comparison. You may see Major Nadal as a lone Gunman but he is merely taking a page from the folks overseas. Same with the brothers in Boston. Our Abortionist killers and their ilk, “hear voices” telling them to act. So you are engaging in an apples and oranges debate.

Have worked with number of Pakis over the years. Some even have the Paki wife back in the old country and the American wife here. One thing though, they smoke, drink and carry on with the best of us. Their attention to religion is about what you see from a “occassional” Catholic. Celebrate the major holidays, sporadically attend services and provide the religious education for their kids the wife demands. NYC government is flooded with Egyptian techs and engineers. Same holds true for them. have no problem with any of these people.

My line gets drawn with the women covering their faces. See them all over here in Bergen County. A woman dressing like that might as well be wearing a dog collar saying “property of”. It IS offensive to my sensibilities and should be to any human being who believes that women and men share the same rights. .

          • AS far as the “your ilk” comment. It’s a statistical fact that most mass murders carried out with firearms are committed by Left Leaning adults or children of Left leaning adults. Look it up, it’s all out there for the world to see.

          • This is the mindset of your clan Buck 🙂

  27. Dale A Albrecht says:

Well….as of yesterday a keystone of Eastern NC’s history is over after 51 years. The SAR team “Pedro” has operated out of Havelock at USMC airbase Cherry Point. The success of the team used by both civilian and military will be missed. Apparently the government feels that the area can be best served by the Civilian Air Patrol and the Coast Guard whose nearest air capability is 150 miles away.

  28. Heard Bill Clinton talking about Hillary this morning. He really has lost perspective of reality, but one thing stuck out that gave me some pause. Bill said “Hillary apologized and said she’d give the election back to the people”. I have two thoughts, from different angles. One, did Hillary slip on how elections are really conducted? Two, this is the most arrogant statement that ever went over the voters heads. But, this was coming from Bill, who also said the Republicans didn’t want to run against her (which was the reason for the email controversy). Hillary should retire.

  29. Question…I am reading that the pope failed to finish the lord’s Prayer in Philly, any truth to that?

  30. @Buck…Serious question. Are Christians all over the world going around killing people BECAUSE those people will not capitulate to the beliefs Christianity.? Do Christians, even the extreme ones, claim they want to rule the world and force others to convert to Christianity? Now change the Christians to Muslims and ask those questions again.

    • Plenty of Christians are committing terrorist attacks and killing others in the name of their religion. Just as plenty of Muslims are. And plenty of Jews. All are extremists and none speak for their religion.

And I wouldn’t argue for the mass deportation of either group as a result.

      • I am not arguing for mass deportation, nor have I. I suggested a discussion, because the possibility of the boogie man striking seems to be growing. Wouldn’t it be better to have a logical plan so what happened to the Japanese/Americans won’t happen again? Wouldn’t it be better to have a plan, or at least have a national discussion in the event of a bad happening, so as to at least keep those who will take matters into their own hands at a minimum? There are many questions that can be asked and discussed. You seem to think even a discussion is wrong, why? Afraid of what may come from an open discussion? That seems to be common with your clan when they may not like the truth to be brought out into the open, which kind of screws up that Liberal mantra. None the less, because you have made such an issue about it (thanks, I mean that), it will be the next topic.

Maybe you should go back a few articles and read the one on invasion. This could be a fun discussion (amongst all 10-15 of us) , LOL 🙂

        • You’re not arguing for mass deportation? Or mass internment? What then is this national plan you would like to see?

You wish to have a discussion on whether or not we should deport all Muslims…but you don’t actually want to see it happen?

          • That’s what discussions are for Buckster, to openly talk about all of those things. There are other things that could be included, like protecting Muslim’s in our neighborhoods who are not radicals and don’t deserved being attacked. Protect those who “appear” to be Muslim, but are not, like the Sikhs from India (this actually happened after 911 in my previous hometown). It’s could be a very positive discussion, you seem stuck on the Liberal medias perception of non-liberal’s. Shame, shame counselor 😉

            • Nice dodge. But when you speak of having a discussion of the complete removal of a group, you aren’t really asking for an open discussion of ideas but a binary yes or no.

But ok, fine, lay out your plan.

              • I don’t have a plan, haven’t had a discussion yet. That was the purpose of asking “should we have a discussion” on the subject. Plus I need an idea for next article :). I’m not real sure how I really feel on the subject, I really haven’t given it that much thought as of yet. I was reading another article about ISIS’s threat of nuclear attack (see Pearl Harbor) and it brought to my mind those of Japanese decent. You oddly assumed the worst (you should know better than to make assumptions, your a lawyer), when it wasn’t the idea. Now, deporting Liberal’s I could make a pretty good argument for, but the law won’t allow such things, LMAO! As far as Muslim’s, it’s a tough subject to tackle. There are various opinions, our laws (which would be nice if they were actually enforced by the Feds) and the subject of assimilation. There would be much to learn.

              • In that case, to answer your initial question:

No we should not have a discussion on whether we the people should demand the complete removal of all Muslims. It’s a ridiculous position unworthy of debate.

              • You are entitled to your opinion. Let’s hope that when another mass murder at the hands of Muslim nuts don’t lead to the complete removal of all Muslim’s in America from planet earth. It wouldn’t shock me in the least. But, that’s another subject 🙂

              • I’m getting more and more into Teddy Roosevelt’s view. If you are not able to put “American” first in your description of yourself such as the difference between being a Italian-American (for example) as opposed to an American of Italian descent (which we used to do). If you expect the larger society to accommodate you continuously into the second, third and forth generation ie. language and culture. Then we should just not bother to let you in. If you are not going to assimilate, then you bring this society nothing useful. Nothing at all. We don’t need “your” way when it comes to political theory. One would think you are here because you rejected “your” political theory and sought freedom.

The Pope is starting to rally piss me off.

In his recent speech to the U.S. Congress Pope Francis declared that “the common good is the chief aim of all politics” and that “freedom requires love of the common good.” Legislation is “always based on care for the public,” the pontiff pontificated.

That may be the “progressive” way of the Argentine, Italian, Spanish, German Socialist-Fascist but it most definitely NOT the reason for the founding of this country. This country was founded to maximize human freedom the only caveat being that your freedom ends where mine begins based on majority rule.

      • Just A Citizen says:

        Buck

This Sir is where you go wrong. “All are extremists and none speak for their religion.”

The extremist Muslims do in fact speak for their religion. Hell they in fact are following the dictates of those who claim to be the “keepers” of said religion.

This is the problem most on the left and in the media seem unwilling to admit exists. We “westerners” try to judge Islam according to our cultural and societal norms. Especially our view of “welcome to all” and “keep religion out of govt”. But that is NOT what those people believe who guard the tenants of Islam. Why do so many ignore what these Muslims tell us Islam is about, and instead gravitate to those who claim to be the modern moderates?

This same situation does not exist with Christianity today. There are not thousands upon thousand marching with guns under the Red Cross, trying to take over vast tracts of territory or displace entire Governments.

Why can you not acknowledge the difference instead of falling into the same tired game of claiming a moral equivalence between ISIS, Al Qaeda, and other large groups acting in the name of Islam and scattered individuals acting out against other individuals in the name of God??

I find this comparison tired and of course a complete FALLACY.

  31. Stephen…give it time…..watch very carefully what is currently happening in Europe. Their social experiment is falling apart. Borders are going to go back up….immigration will be modified (it already is and it is currently targeting Muslims)…I wish the media would actually post the pictures of the border in Hungary, Turkey, Italy…….it would astonish the public. I do not understand why “selfies” are not getting out….they used to.

The US military is having their cell phones confiscated and searched for pictures. Cameras and computers are having their pictures wiped clean right now….the servers provided by the military are being scrubbed and emails are being read…but that is nothing unusual about this administration…(and before anyone asks…not it was not being done by the Bush Administration…this overt action did not go into effect until 2012). Military careers are being destroyed because of political positions….

But….Europe is about to undergo a transformation both economically and geographically and politically…..they are going to have to do this to survive.

    • All I can say is they better start having some babies and the damned governments ought to revise all sorts of tax policy to make it possible.

Back when Jr. was in college he latched onto some stuff about “two income families” . What a total fraud it is. By the time you factor in increased taxes, Fed, State and Local, cost of child care while Mom works, the damn thing is a joke. You work for peanuts if that.

It is a very anti-child society we live in here in the West. We seem to everything we can to discourage smart folks from having kids. They have no “WIC”. no foodstamps, No Section 8 vouchers to provide you with a bigger apartment when # 3 gets born. The cost of a delivery is phenomenal and you are probably in a bed, in a room with a Foreign born Mom that YOU are paying for. Your kids don’t rate free lunch nor free transportation and when they get older there are tons of loans for them but no scholarships.

The war on large families is even going on in the Catholic Schools. It used to be that tuition went down for # 2, # 3 and so-on. Now they may give you a break on 2 or 3 but after that you are on your own. Some schools even cut out 2 and 3. So, Catholics who pay full freight on a Public School system they don’t use are paying $ 3,000 and up in grammar school and close to $ 10,000 and up for High School. Fine if you are a Wall Street type but the Plumber, Civil Servant and truck driver are SOL. It is actually worse in some of the Yeshiva’s cause they do not have the infrastructure in place that long time Catholic Schools have.

I want to publicly congratulate my friend Victor Zilber on the birth of his 26th Grandchild! Victor is an Orthodox Jew, originally from Brooklyn. His parents were Holocaust survivors and he was born in a DP camp in France after the War. The number of his children and grandchildren smacks of personal revenge against Hitler and the Nazi’s. In addition to being one hell of a nice guy, on most issues he is slightly to the right of me but much calmer.

  32. Well folks, now he has done it. Kicked off the next arms race, one we probably have very little chance of winning. So much for “A’int gonna study war no more”.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/sep/28/obama-taunts-putin-at-un-i-lead-the-strongest-mili/

    • If he tried to take us to war, there would be a coup. Eyes are open and they will not be led by an idiot. It will take a decade or three to fix the damage he has done to the military. Gay’s and Tranny’s will never make it. Women will not make it in the Seals or SF’s.

      • Hard to have a coup buried in radioactive ash! Maybe this guy is the AntiChrist.

        • If DC were in radioactive ash, would that really be a bad thing? The Left would be happy as hell, a few less million people on earth. The problem of the tyrannical Federal Govt would be solved for at least a decade, if not longer. It would solve the gun crime there (which would also make the gun grabbers happy), See, it’s not all bad 🙂

Anti-Christ? Many people still believe that. I’m not so sure he is. Then again, I’m not so sure he isn’t either. If and when we he finally leaves office, many people will be relieved, that’s how bad he really is.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

Just keyeed in on the “radioactive” part of this comment. I saw the former governor of Idaho has filed suit against the Feds to disclose data on the nuclear waste issue. There wasn’t a whole lot of info in the MSM article (no surprise there) but why isn’t congress nailing the administration on not allowing the latest and state of the art repository in Nevada. Due to open, 8 years ago but Obama shut it down. I hear Reid in the mix but he’s a dotering idiot and seriously how many votes does nevada deliver.

            • It is entirely Reid. No ifs, ands or buts.

Some deal was cut in the past probably with the RINO types. They don’t have much use for westerners.

              • Just A Citizen says:

It is not just Reid but the entire State.

And as to G’s question. Nevada nearly made the difference last time and very well could this time. It is easy to see a scenario where NV’s electorate vote makes a President.

  33. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was overheard confronting Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg over incendiary posts on the social network, Bloomberg reported on Sunday, amid complaints from her government about anti-immigrant posts in the midst of Europe’s refugee crisis.

On the sidelines of a United Nations luncheon on Saturday, Merkel was caught on a hot mic pressing Zuckerberg about social media posts about the wave of Syrian refugees entering Germany, the publication reported.

The Facebook CEO was overheard responding that “we need to do some work” on curtailing anti-immigrant posts about the refugee crisis. “Are you working on this?” Merkel asked in English, to which Zuckerberg replied in the affirmative before the transmission was disrupted.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Today the German government lowered the housing standards to accomodate the influx of “migrants” Why? If you create substandard living conditions in Germany do they seriously expoect it to get better. OR, did they compare the living conditions the “Migrants” left and they’ll get NO better. Just a thought.///I always put the word “migrants” in quotes because this is an invasion. The germans and europeans and in fact us….do we want to preserve and cherish our culture or be overwhelmed? Didn’t Muslims in Canada just try and have NO pork served in schools because they are OFFENDED….me for one just made up a batch of Canadian Bacon, beats the heck out of the store bought stuff.

      • gmanfortruth says:

I have read where people are being evicted so invaders can live in the apartments. That will be linked in next article.

  34. Obama says “And it must also involve a rejection by non-Muslims of the ignorance that equates Islam with terror.”

Is this the same as claiming that Constitutionalist’s, Tea Party folks, Preppers, 2nd Amendment supporters and Ron Paul supporters are all terrorists? Obama is a dick, period.

      • Yep…told ya so and you need to check out his father and what he has done. The Muslim community in Irving, Tx is openly clashing with the Hispanic population in Irving, Texas. They are clashing over housing, religious ceremonies, food, and hostile enclaves. The Irving police and the Texas Rangers (the law enforcement) are just sitting on the sidelines and containing the situation so it does not spread. The whites and the blacks are just sitting back and laughing about the whole thing. It is becoming unique in that the whites and the blacks have formed unholy alliances with each other on these two factions.

The lad’s family is trying to keep the records suppresed and for obvious reasons. The kid is a truant, the clock was fake and made up of all kinds of spare parts but they did get the publicity and money out of the ordeal.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

From what I remember about Irvine, is that there is quite a wide buffer of land between the next communities. Had to travel to buy alcohol at the package stores on the county line. Good place for a “cordon sanitare”.

  35. The timing of the 1979 NASA satellite instrument launch could not have been better for global warming alarmists. The late 1970s marked the end of a 30-year cooling trend. As a result, the polar ice caps were quite likely more extensive than they had been since at least the 1920s. Nevertheless, this abnormally extensive 1979 polar ice extent would appear to be the “normal” baseline when comparing post-1979 polar ice extent.

Updated NASA satellite data show the polar ice caps remained at approximately their 1979 extent until the middle of the last decade. Beginning in 2005, however, polar ice modestly receded for several years. By 2012, polar sea ice had receded by approximately 10 percent from 1979 measurements. (Total polar ice area – factoring in both sea and land ice – had receded by much less than 10 percent, but alarmists focused on the sea ice loss as “proof” of a global warming crisis.)

A 10-percent decline in polar sea ice is not very remarkable, especially considering the 1979 baseline was abnormally high anyway. Regardless, global warming activists and a compliant news media frequently and vociferously claimed the modest polar ice cap retreat was a sign of impending catastrophe. Al Gore even predicted the Arctic ice cap could completely disappear by 2014.

In late 2012, however, polar ice dramatically rebounded and quickly surpassed the post-1979 average. Ever since, the polar ice caps have been at a greater average extent than the post-1979 mean.

Now, in May 2015, the updated NASA data show polar sea ice is approximately 5 percent above the post-1979 average.

So do you think the EPA or the Mainstream Media will acknowledge the new information?

    I don’t think so either!

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Not in the least….the alarmist article today was that NOAA is monitoring this blob of COLD fresh water. They’re concerned about how it might affect “climate change” How the gulf stream is affected by the warming and cooling and melting ice has long been a major factor on Europes weather. Also just ask and commercial fisherman or submariner about the layers of warm, cold, saline or more fresh….It is also more coincident with the UN’s plan of how to disrupt our lives even more by income redistribution to the 3rd world….SO if China is by far and away the dirtiest polluter today, why in heavens name did the get a pass until 2030 to enact ANY changes.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Unless he uses a teleprompter very well that speech was pretty much off the cuff. Reading the comments, one person wrote inthe Rand Paul was upset that Cruz violated theh decorum of the Senate…..uh. The true hurts. He just layed out exactly what we’ve all been saying. He’s was totally correct thet Boehner and McConnell have expened more energy denigrating the very people that got them the majorities and the leadership.

I have one thing to say…this speech was like “passing gas in an elevator”…maybe that is not the correct analogy, but Washington doesn’t know the true if it’s life depended on it and stinks to high heaven.

Need the Colonel’s opnion of what Texas thinks of Cruz….I never though about him much until today. Stand for something. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Cruz, is not in contempt of congress….he has contempt for congress. Rightfully so because in a nutshell for the contempt congress has of the american people. We absolutely are NOT a nation of laws. The law mean nothing.

  36. Dale A Albrecht says:

I just went back and scanned my comments…I think one of my fingers has been cut off. Geez was my spelling terrible.

I wonder if the congressional oversight committees looking into Hillary’s private server, have they thought to look for Holder’s e-mails, that he had never seen?

  37. Everybody seems pissed with Putin except maybe for Trump. Watched O’Reilly hit him with “Assad’s a murderer”. So? They are all murderers. What you have to ask and nobody is doing is what alternative is there? Who will be better than Assad? Seems to me that Post Assad Syria’s best case scenario is being another Libya worst case is ISIS. Think I’d press the “pause” button on that one.

Watched Vlad the other night. Might soon start calling him “the Impaler” seems to do a pretty good job of sticking it in and twisting. Anyway, Vlad pointed out that without our meddling in the Ukraine and Syria, things would have been one hell of a lot better. Cannot look at the situations and say he is wrong.

    • I think the government mouthpieces (aka MSM) will do anything and everything to protect the corrupt Feds and their illegal actions. We have no business in Syria, interfering in Ukraine and bombing Libya was completely illegal. Frankly, once Obama is no longer president, he should be arrested and charged with murder. Those who support his actions should also be on trail for being accessories to murder. While we are at it, let’s bring Bush and Cheney in for the same stuff. To bad this will never happen. The sheople have no balls.

      • Why the murder charges? Specifically. And your alternative to the wars is…. Remember, on Sept 11, 01, the country was united like no other in our lifetime besides 11/63.

  38. There will be a new thread at some point today. Looks like sometime later this afternoon. 🙂

    • Be happy to reply but you will not like the answer.

this statement is true….”nothing compared to the incompetence and moral cowardice of our military’s senior leaders.” The unfortunate thing about this is…..it is true and it is oredered from the Obama Administration and I do not mind saying so….

Just look what the Army did to the Green Beret that beat the crap out of an Afghan child molester…..he was thrown out of the Army. NINE generals that did not follow the timidity of Obama….hardened combat generals who know how to win and administer…have been fired in the last three years…..None of them.

If a soldier sees a child rape taking place and blows the Afghan away….the soldier is accused of kiling innocent civilians and is court matialed. No one knows or understands what goes on in a war zone. The author of the artice is dead ass wrong when he says it is not totally the fault of Obama……I disagree….it is the total fault of Obama and his cronies because behind the scenes they annihilate and viscerate the military commanders and soldiers who speak out. The orders are indeed….to turn a head if you see these atrocities…it is not “your” country and if they want to rape young boys, there is nothing you can do about it……Obama says….turn your head.

So…if the current Generals want to protect their family and pensions….they do not buck the civilian establishement.

      • I hate to say it but the same thing, as it pertains to women, is happening right here in the USA under the auspicies and orders of the Obama Administration…the border is an area of torture, rape, and child molestations…..among the Hispanics that are crossing the border….and by the Hispanics. Everyone thinks that it is the poor MExican trying to seek a better life…..it is actually the gangs and the cartels that prey on these children…..and the BOrder Agents are under orders to stand down…do nothing if you see it. We see this a lot…truckloads of underaged girls and children brought to t he border under the disguise of getting into the US..they are getting in ok…but are sodomized and raped with regularity on US soil and the law enforcement is saying to turn the head and do not report it.

It is disgusting. If we see it, meaning the military…..we will do what the article says needs to be done…we will fire two warning shots into the chest of the perp and follow it several more. but the gangs and the cartels have learned not to mess with Texas armed patrols…they do it to the Feds…because the Feds will do nothing….it does not even make the daily reports.

  39. I remember several discussions on this site about the Russians…..I was told that Russia has no interest in the Ukraine. I was told that Russia has enough problems of thier own, they have no interest into expanding in the ME and have no hegemonic tendencies….

So, yesterday, in the US Embassy, a three star Russian General delivered a formal protest and note to the Americans….remove your troops, planes, and Navy immediately from Syria. We would hate to see a conflict begin with our two peoples. Then the Russian Air Force immediately after delivering this demand…….flew air strikes, not against Assad Syrian troops or ISIS but against the free Syrians and allies fighting the Taliban and ISIS.

There you go Obama….nice negotiating….so what now? Tuck our tails and run? That seems to be the mantra of the Obama administration.

So, to those of you on here that care to respond…..if you had this done to you….what is your response.

    • I wouldn’t be in this position. As far as Obama, what ever he does now will be wrong. This is a no win situation for him. I don’t want our people killed because he’s an idiot.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Obama knows how to scare Congress to do his bidding, however, he has run into leaders who do not cower and they now that have him a no win situation. Checkmate. Abbas at the UN says that he and the Palestinians are no longer tied to any treaties or obligations to Israel and asked the world to help protect them. The gloves in the M/E are definitely off.

The question is, what would our nation do if one of our allies really came under attack through the instigation of another antagonistic nation. I believe in another day we’d have defended our ally against those forces. Not today under this administration but Putin and the Iranian leadership shookered Obama and Kerry. Dangerous game of brinksmanship. Here is a case that I believe Congress will absolutely NOT support the president….Opinions?

      • So, what are you saying…back off?

        • There is no logical reason to put our troops in harms way. I’ve made this part of new article.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

Actually in a way yes. The Russians will take seriously ISIS and their kind. It may give also Iran something else to think about. Given that after the fall (or shove) of the Shah by the US. Khomenei created a whole lot of problems for the USSR and their southern provinces. As planned by Carter’s national security advisor. Paybacks are hell. Assad is sure as heck a better option than what ever ISIS has in store. As was Gaddaffi, as was Mubarack as was the Shah just to name 3.

As far as I’m concerned Obama and Kerry have shone Iran their down card and Iran no longer has to bluff.

        • I’m not sure if you were addressing me or not-but I used the word back off so I’m assuming you were. By back off I mean-as long as we are in Syria, we will fly our planes whenever and where ever we deem necessary and if your planes being there or your actions causes us a problem and something bad happens -the consequences are on you.

    • Personally I’d tell Russia to back off-and if they attacked our allies again or even looked like they intended too-We would go to War-and if they didn’t take me seriously-we would go to war.

It wouldn’t have happened to me because I would have not been there to push around.

On the other hand, if he tried this in a place where I was located I would tell them to POUND SAND. Or in terms from another generation………….NUTS.

If Hillary had no official State Dept account and she says that she is confident that she never sent classified emails…..it still begs the question what did she do while secretary of state.

i’m wondering if the state department was so heavily involved in the Keystone pipeline, which was stonewalled, wouldn’t it make sense that the state department would also be in the loop with the gun running action the DOJ was conducting? Given that she was constantly calling for more gun control citing the “illicit” activity on the border. I would think the state dept would be so imbedded in the border issue with the illegal’s activity the cartels and all the open warfare on the border and its near regions.

Once again, as I read all the carping about what is happening in the Middle East, it is necessary to ask everyone to check their core principles.

WHY should we be involved in any way in the ME??? What is our “National Interest” that is worthy of ordering young men and women to risk their lives in the region.

We decided long ago to not make Syria an ally, even if it were possible, so who gives a pinch what happens to Syria? Why??

What are the principles which drive your decisions and arguments??

This is were I challenge G Man to start showing some consistency. Again I find you howling about Obama’s “weakness” when you claim we should stay the hell out of the Middle East anyway. So if that is your view why complain about Obama??

Does not a policy of returning to our shores going to result in vacuums that cause some to think us “weak”. Or at least allow them to fill the vacuum we leave? If returning to our shores is the goal then your complaint should be that Obama has not done this fast enough. Not that he projects weakness by allowing Iran and Russia to run around us.

So which is it??? I am getting confused reading all the comments. Hell, even my Texican friend “the colonel” is waffling on the take care of our own viewpoint.

I go fishing for a week and ya’ll got yerselves lost.

As you consider your answers please test the rational outcome of your core view.

For example, if you think we have a “moral obligation” to prevent genocide and mass murder then why would we be limited in where we respond? Shouldn’t we take out every brutal dictator in the world??? After all, it is a “moral obligation”.

If it is to protect “our national interest” then please tell us just what that means in tangible terms. Is it protection of international commerce, like shipping lanes? Does it extend to taking over a country that dares to nationalize or over regulate OUR industries? Or does it mean we should invade or dictate based on our “need for greatness” so that we can project our “specialness” to the rest of the world?

My opinion on Obama’s mid east policy is that he is reacting to political pressure that he thinks could threaten the Dem’s ability to maintain power. The American people are still not ready to just cut and run. So when Assad starts bombing his own and the “do gooders” cry for action, he gins up some half hearted “action”. I can not tell whether he cares or not about our position or the outcomes in the middle east or elsewhere. His policies are a contradiction much like the commentary on the blogs and in the media.

To those of us who are history buffs, lets address the gorilla. Is our intervention in the world needed to truly prevent another global war? Is it needed to prevent another Hitler or Stalin or Mao?? If so it seems we are doing a poor job.

One other thing, Putin has given us the means to embarrass him on the global stage and at home. The “demands” made in Syria yesterday could be thrown in his face to show him a “hypocrite” if the Administration was astute enough and had the brass to do it. But as long as he is allowed to say one thing and do another without challenge, all those “third world” countries who love to use the UN to beat on us are going to cheer. Some may even become emboldened to do something really stupid.

The only way to have real peace in the world, that is to eliminate the major threats to Europe, the Balkans, Scandinavia, the Middle East and SE Asia is to TAKE OUT Russia and China. There is a reality check for you. Now how many are prepared to do what is required?

    • This is were I challenge G Man to start showing some consistency.

I have always been consistent. Obama is a sissy. We have no business in Syrian affairs and he will likely get embarrassed by Putin, and rightfully so. More in the new article where we can continue if you like.

    • Have to respond to this upon return…..leaving for Mexico today. We have sold all of our interests in Mexico and getting out….and just in the nick of time.
