Trump’s First 100 Days

trump100What should President Trump and the new Republican Congress fix in the first 100 days of the Trump Presidency?  Here’s a partial list of suggestions to ponder and discuss:

  • Repeal Obamacare.

  • Repeal laws and regulations that prohibit health insurance policies from being sold across state lines and that mandate certain coverages in all policies, thus allowing a free market to develop in the health insurance industry.

  • Remove legal and tax barriers/incentives that prohibit or discourage doctors and patients from engaging in trade for services, thus allowing a free market to develop in the healthcare industry.

  • Audit the Federal Reserve and begin the process of repealing the Federal Reserve Act and the 16th Amendment.

  • Repeal the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

  • Eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency and the Departments of Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior and Homeland Security, which will immediately cut more than $1 trillion from the federal budget.

  • Repeal the federal minimum wage law.

  • Repeal all executive and regulatory agency orders that stifle business and industry and place an undue burden on the free market.
  • Begin the process of eliminating income taxes, corporate taxes and capital gains taxes.
  • End the estate tax.
  • Repeal the USA Patriot Act and the unlawful detention portions of the National Defense Authorization Act.
  • Begin the process of extracting U.S. troops from foreign battlefields and bases. Close down U.S. military bases in Japan, South Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and the hundreds of bases around the globe that we don’t know about. End military interventionism.
  • Scrap all crony trade agreements like NAFTA and GATT and begin negotiating true free trade agreements with individual countries.
  • Defund and begin the process of removing the United Nations headquarters from the U.S. and the U.S. from the UN.
  • Begin the process of defunding and extracting the U.S. from NATO.

  • End foreign aid to all countries.

  • Mandate the enforcement of existing immigration laws. Beef up the border patrol. Begin the process of completing the construction of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

  • End all forms of welfare to illegal aliens.

  • End all forms of corporate welfare.

  • Repeal all outdated and ill-conceived food quota and farm bills passed during The Great Depression.

  • Begin the process of phasing out Social Security and ending the Social Security tax.

  • Repeal all laws, regulations and taxes on personal investments and individual retirement accounts and pensions that create incentives and disincentives for certain investment behaviors (ie, penalties for early withdrawals, etc.) which were put in place to prop up the market.
  • Defund Planned Parenthood.
  • Pass a national concealed carry reciprocity law.
  • Repeal all laws and acts that serve and have served to militarize and federalize local police.

What would you add as your top priorities for a Trump administration? With which of the above do you disagree, and why?

  1. This should get those noodles between your ears working 😀

  2. I’ll start with the first group of 7.

Repeal Obamacare…. You bet! ALL of it.

Open up the State borders for insurance sales (all insurance, not just health). Totally agree.

Remove legal and tax barriers/incentives that prohibit or discourage doctors and patients from engaging in trade for services, thus allowing a free market to develop in the healthcare industry. Totally agree again. Get government out of the peoples business, they aren’t helping.

Audit the Federal Reserve and begin the process of repealing the Federal Reserve Act and the 16th Amendment. The Fed has always been the stuff of conspiracy theories. For the longest time, it was thought to be a government institution. There is also a CT that this subject is what got JFK assassinated.

Repeal the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Yes, a great example of causing a problem (housing sub-prime mortgage crash) then pretending to fix it.

Eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency and the Departments of Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior and Homeland Security, which will immediately cut more than $1 trillion from the federal budget. Absolutely, but not likely.

Repeal the federal minimum wage law. Yes, should be a State or local issue, not a Federal one.

  3. It is going according to plan.

  4. End birth right citizenship.

    • I’m not sure that this birth right isn’t anything more than a Liberal theory versus actual law. More claim than fact 🙂

      • What is needed is congressional clarification plus rules on how hospitals and county clerks issue birthcerts. Every child born needs a BC but the BC should clearly state if proof of citizenship or legal residence of the parents was provided. If the mother presents proper documents, then the issue is settled. If the mother does not then the father can present the papers but it must be backed up with a DNA paternity test. Children can petition the court for redress later if mistakes or omissions are made.

If the parents are here on a visa or here illegally, then the BC should clearly state, non-citizen plus it should state the home country.

This would end the illegals crossing the boarder to create anchor babies and the Chinese from shipping their pregnant women here to give birth.

        • I would like to see the anchor baby issue settled by SCOTUS, once and for all. If an American women happens to be visiting a foreign country and gives birth, I don’t know of any country that considers that child a citizen of that country.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

They do or did in the UK. Neither the Mother of Father were UK citizens, and were “illegals”, overstayed their tourist visa’s, yet their daughter because she was born in the UK, held a UK passport and citizenship, plus one for Colombia her parents “legal” residence. To be able to retain a job here in the US after spending 20+ years the daughter obtained her US citizenship and dropped her dual citizenship from the UK and Colombia.

  5. HMMMM…….

#1 The last time the U.S. government refused to veto an anti-Israel resolution at the UN Security Council was in 1979. On March 22nd, 1979 the Carter administration chose not to veto UN Resolution 446. Four days after that on March 26th, the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty was signed in Washington. As a result of that treaty, Israel gave up a tremendous amount of territory. Two days later, on March 28th, the worst nuclear power plant disaster in U.S. history made headlines all over the globe.

  6. Speaking as the head of a couple of family owned corporations…..please explain your definition of Corporate welfare.

    • I believe that when the government picks and chooses which companies get special tax breaks and most don’t would be a good definition. If Trump keeps his promise and lowers taxes for all business’s, these tax breaks won’t be necessary. Although I’m not so sure they would simply go away because of the tax change, as the corrupt will find other ways to do favors for those campaign donations.

      • Ok…….I agree with hand picking. If you are going to allow tax breaks, then it is across the board available for all.

I ask you about certain tax incentives such as depreciation. Do you fully understand what this is and how it applies to business, re-investment, and cash flow that benefits the employees?

        • Just A Citizen says:

          d13thecolonel

Any tax deduction that goes beyond normal business expenses is a form of subsidy, hence welfare.

The most egregious form, however, is law and regulation that creates protections or adverse impacts on certain sectors, or businesses within a sector.

Depreciation is both a real expense and a Free Cookie, depending on the type of depreciation.

I would personally be OK with depreciation being eliminated as a deduction if the business tax rates were reduced to about 15%. But then I would support a tax on gross revenue, so that businesses could make decisions based on business needs and not “after tax income statements”.

  7. Just A Citizen says:

“Marx preaches a doctrine of salvation which rationalizes [people’s] resentment and transfigures their envy and desire for revenge into a mission ordained by world history. He inspires them with consciousness of their mission by greeting them as those who carry in themselves the future of the human race. […] it always pays to rouse what is evil in the human heart. Yet Marx has done more: he has decked out the resentment of the common man with the nimbus of science, and has thus made it attractive to those who live on a higher intellectual and ethical plane. Every socialist movement has borrowed in this respect from Marx, adapting the doctrine slightly for its special needs.”

    • Philosophical JAC is back…..good morning, SIR,…….how is the spousal unit and designated small ones doing?

      • Just A Citizen says:

We are doing fine here in the land of white Christmas. A good foot plus of settled snow. A beautiful white blanket with the snow hanging on the limbs of the conifers, as if placed there as a decoration.

Fireplace going full time, daughter and friend came for the weekend, old Christmas movies, 33 1/3 Christmas records on my old player, Cribbage, baking cookies, telling lots of old family stories, some would say lies, and having a great time.

By the way, I think that T-Shirt bet was a good idea, for both sides. Baylor vs. Boise State. Loser has to wear the other shirt.

        • Just A Citizen says:

Forgot my manners. How are you and yours doing? I see you suffered some of our balmy fall temps last week. Hope your toes are not turned blue or black.

Hope all is well in the Republic.

          • We are doing well…..should be in our new digs by the end of January. Looking forward to that.

The winter weather we currently have now is passable…..we are 55 in the mornings and 75 in the afternoons….some winds. However, January and February are usually some pretty chilly months with lots of wind.

33 1/3….wow…..I did not know you could still find the needles. Cribbage…I like that game as well. Played a lot of it in Vietnam. Sitting around and sharing some old stories (lies) is perfectly ok for a Christmas get together,……Of course, with me the only perfect child in my family, all the ridicule was levelled at my siblings.

  8. Obamacare……repeal it BUT you will have to allow a risk pool, government or private, for those who cannot get insurance due to costly illness. ( Cancer, etc ). Said risk pool to be non profit and non tax payer supported. I say this because, I do not believe that any private insurance company will establish a high risk pool. A total repeal of Obamacare would immediately cause private insurance to throw out any and all high risk. I am a conservative and want to do away with Obamacare…..but I am not indifferent to those who cannot get insurance due to high risk.

    • You will have to show me an alternative to the 16th Amendment before I get on board.

      • Why do they need to take money from the people when they simply print the money when they need it. Why should they take the money when they can’t manage the monetary affairs of this country within the limits of what they take? I’m speaking of the Fed’s of course.

        • Come on, my intrepid friend…..do not answer my question with a question…..what would be an alternative? Or, do you propose no alternative and allow the Fed to print money and create devaualtion?

You and I are in agreement partially but I want to know how you will fund defense, for example. You cannot do it by printing money. ( Actually, you can, but you create a huge devaluation of the USD and create inflation by doing this. )

          • First, a disclaimer. I didn’t write these things in the list, hence the link at end of the article.

But I’ll try. Let me just say that I’m all for the 10th Amendment and letting the States handle their affairs. As far as income tax, I think that once all the alphabet agencies that are not specifically permitted under the Constitution, taxes can be found in other ways besides direct theft….err…taking of earned income. Of course, I can suggest some really good cuts in Federal spending, but those ideas are not on this list.

    • Consumer protection Act…..There are provisions that I support…..like the Deceptive trade….if you eliminate the Act, and remand it back to the states…how would you keep deceptive trade ( or would you ) from across state lines?

      • Wouldn’t civil lawsuits keep things in check?

        • Perhaps, but the if you remand everything back to he states, how would a law suit in another state prevail? Any state could actually come up with a reason to say, no out of state law suits apply. ( I guess you can do this through state by state treaty ).

          • In this case I believe the Constitution provides authority for the Fed’s to handle these issues.

            • But, sir, are you not being a little hypocritical here? Advocating state by state but then advocating a Federal intervention?

              • Do not get me wrong here…..I love the idea of a state by state issue….BUT, it seems to me that you are allowing a Federal Law to supercede a state.

              • Not really, the Constitution provides Congress the authority to regulate commerce between the states. When issues such as deceptive trade comes up which involves more than one State, that’s when the feds are allowed to intervene and solve the issue. I didn’t write it, just sayin 🙂

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Suggest people watch “Topaze” a pre-code ’30’s film about deceptive marketing practices. Human nature has not changed one bit, even with all the laws in place to modify such behavior. The script could be shot today with new actors and everyone would think its a modern movie…..even to the point of co-opting “science” to prove the virtues and benefits of the product.

    • Repeal Dodd Frank – Yes. Eliminate EPA, etc. Tricky but remand those areas to the States…so, as to EPA, FDA, etc, you would allow each state to set their own preferences? Or do you want them to go completely away….period.

      • All the agencies mentioned I would close down and let the States deal with it, as the way it should be.

      • RE: EPA – I would keep a skeleton EPA around to do some research and to coordinate efforts by the states. All enforcement would be by the states so the EPA would not have enforcement powers. If one state deliberately sites polluting industries to send the effluent across state lines, then the Fed EPA should arbitrate the dispute between the states. If arbitration does not work, there are always civil suits.

RE: FDA – The FDA does serve a useful purpose in theory. In practice, they are too bureaucratic and too allied with the drug companies. Too many bad drugs are making it to market. I would like to see the NIH spend more time researching cheaper solutions to drug issues. This would include proving or disproving many of the old folklore medicines. Many actually work to some degree but the parameters are not well known. Cinnamon for example is good for diabetics, but very few doctors even know about. The scientific studies are not done because they are too expensive and there is no return once proven. But to the country as a whole, cheap solutions to many health problems would be a great boon.

Re: DoEd – No need for this department at all at the federal level.

Re: DOE – They failed their mission to make us energy independent. Keep the NRC and cut over 80% of the rest. The remainder should be R&D with emphasis on the bigger practical solutions such as a thorium reactor. No more subsidies for anyone.

        Re: DoLabor – Eliminate

Re: HUD or whatever it is now called – Eliminate

    • Repeal Federal Min wage…….hell yes.

Begin the process of eliminating income taxes, corporate taxes and capital gains taxes…..replace with what? How would you fund national defense?

End the estate tax……not only yes, but hell yes.

Repeal the USA Patriot Act and the unlawful detention portions of the National Defense Authorization Act……..yes

Begin the process of extracting U.S. troops from foreign battlefields and bases. Close down U.S. military bases in Japan, South Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and the hundreds of bases around the globe that we don’t know about. End military interventionism……Before I go yea or nay…..you wish to go back to protectionism?

Scrap all crony trade agreements like NAFTA and GATT and begin negotiating true free trade agreements with individual countries……Yes.

Defund and begin the process of removing the United Nations headquarters from the U.S. and the U.S. from the UN…….Yes because it is corrupt.

Begin the process of defunding and extracting the U.S. from NATO……..Be wary of this one. While I support this in general because NATO is ineffective, there are several cons.

End foreign aid to all countries……Protectionism again?

Mandate the enforcement of existing immigration laws. Beef up the border patrol. Begin the process of completing the construction of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico…………….Near and dear to my heart. There are better ways than a big swath with a broad sword. Be happy to discuss this as I am in the middle of it.

End all forms of welfare to illegal aliens…..lose the term illegal aliens….replace it with non-citizens….then I am on board.

Repeal all outdated and ill-conceived food quota and farm bills passed during The Great Depression…..you need to be more specific but, in general…I can go for this.

Begin the process of phasing out Social Security and ending the Social Security tax…..Pick a start date and leave the current system in place for those that are already on it…..I am on board.

Repeal all laws, regulations and taxes on personal investments and individual retirement accounts and pensions that create incentives and disincentives for certain investment behaviors (ie, penalties for early withdrawals, etc.) which were put in place to prop up the market…….Easy to say, but do you realize that if you do this, you will lose all 401(k), Keough’s, etc? There is a terrific downside to middle class and the poor.

      Defund Planned Parenthood………..Yes.

Pass a national concealed carry reciprocity law…….You are contradictory here…..you wish to do away with Federal programs and then create one…..no sir….not on board on this one….it is a state matter.

Repeal all laws and acts that serve and have served to militarize and federalize local police…..not on board here, however, this is due to lack of knowledge…can you be more specific.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Can anyone name a successful UN peacekeeping mission, or where partitions set up by the UN worked, or refugee programs, or famine programs, or help the poor etc, without actually causing a worse problem?

I honestly can not think of one.

        • YES SIR….I certainly can…….let me think……..( thinking )……..( more thinking )……( Lots more thinking )………..( Heaps of thinking )…………( Monumental efforts and scrabling brain cells )……….( Having melt down, cells scrambled )……………………………….the Colonel retracts…No sir…..I cannot come up with one.

I did see one, in Somalia…….then it was turned over to the war lords….No sir…..cannot come up with a single one……nope…nada….ain’t there.

          • Dale A Albrecht says:

I’ve got to dig out a book we had to read in College about the UN…..It had such grand plans and actions it took to make those plans come into being…..yet you then fast forward a decade or two ahead from the 60’s and they were decrying the loss of fish populations in those areas the helped. The example was in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) when most fishermen were subsistance fishing. Just enough for them and their family, but rarely anything more to sell or barter. To aleviate the poverty they gave modern fishing boats to the fishermen who quickly stripped the waters. Then the UN banned fishing etc etc etc.

Just like the US government decrying how our fishing fleets were not efficient like the Japanese or Russians etc. Bankrolled new modern efficient boats and we all know where that went.

The UN with the former african colonial powers retained the artifical borders that meant nothing to the tribal regions as they originally were. Endless conflict as one tribe or another tries to gain dominance over the others in the psuedo state….Korea still going, Vietnam was a UN divided state after Giap defeated the French, etc etc etc

      • Pass a national concealed carry reciprocity law…….You are contradictory here…..you wish to do away with Federal programs and then create one,

Why a program? Simple, if one can carry legally in home State, he can in all States and territories. No program needed.

        • Not true, sir……take out the word program…..If Texas does not wish to recognize another state license……why can’t it?

          • The same can be said of drivers licenses, can it not? It also works both ways.

            • That is correct….then it is up to each state to recognize reciprocity or not…..like CCL’s are now. I know which state I can carry in and which I cannot.

              • Eleven States have Constitutional carry laws which allows law abiding citizens to carry without a CCL or other permit. Why shouldn’t Texas honor their Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms?

Section 2 – State citizens, Extradition

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

As you can see Colonel, there is cause for my beliefs 🙂

    • Why can’t the States handle these issues? Example…Ohio already mandates that the sick can’t be denied insurance because they are sick.

Maybe we should actually cure some of these issues instead of just treating them. As long as Big Pharma keeps things status quo, nothing will change. Hence, the root of the problem can be fixed.

      • THey certainly can handle these issues…Texas does…we have a state rick pool already in place. You did not advocate this in the beginning. You just said repeal….no alternatives.

    • Re: Health Insurance. I took the job here in CA because I could not get medical insurance in NJ for my wife because of preexisting conditions. The job offered insurance and was a good fit for my skills plus the pay was good. When we moved to CA, during the move, my wife went into a toxic condition due to a change in medication (lack of doctor coordination) just prior to her arrival in CA. The next morning I went to work for the first day and signed all the employee papers. That night I took her to the ER. She was covered. No waiting period. CA has a law for group policies there are no waiting periods.

Why should a member of a group w/a preexisting condition be covered and an individual not? The whole thing has always appeared somewhat arbitrary to me. Why are not all non-group costumers not considered a group of the whole rather than individuals? Why can’t individuals form their own groups and buy insurance?

      • ” Why can’t individuals form their own groups and buy insurance?”

Simple…..insurance lobbies got laws passed not to allow that. If you take the chocks and bridles off the market….allow free and open competition among states….most of these things would be solved ( IMO )…..however, I do see a down side……only one, but still a downside.

  9. Saw a very interesting documentary over the weekend, about the global warming/climate change/global cooling issues……..

A very intersting set of statistics emerged:

    1) The scientific data that supports the GW/CC/GC issues……comes from a very good list of scientific research facilities and PHD’s…………….all of whom are on government subsidies from the UN and 16 different countries.

    2) The scientific data that disputes the GW/CC/GC issues are from a very good list of reputable scientific research facilites and PHD’s that are NOT ON ANY FORM OF GOVERNMENT subsidy nor the UN….

    3) There is a movement to declare all research facilities and PHD’s that are not approved by the UN…..to be considered debunked.

    • If I am debunked, does this mean I sleep on the floor?

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

So who are the flat-earthers? I just love how science is used for political purposes but then how many “scientifically” proven facts have been debunked over the past years, much less still being debated and experimented upon.

Even the Scientist and team who actually are doing the ice core research that Al Gore used in his famous chart….says that Gore had it WRONG WRONG WRONG. The scientist said, for SOME UNEXPLAINED reason the temperatures would go up. THEN the CO2 outgassed from solution causing that spike. THEN for some UNEXPLAINED reason the temperature would go down and the CO2 then went back into solution. The lags were hundreds of years, like up to 800.

I always try and find out who actually does the research drawing one conclusion vs another and then try and see who actually funded the research…..Unfortunately to many scientist have a normal human failing and that is not to bite the hand that feeds you.

  10. If you have ever read a state or local construction contract, they always state that labor rates should be the local going rate which is code for union scale. This needs to be eliminated before we start on another large infrastructure push. The government as the contracting agency should be worried about work schedules, workmanship and material quality. Labor rates are the concern of the contractor.

Also projects should be started and completed in an expeditious manner. Under the Porkulous bill, we had a new freeway interchange built near here. It took 3 years for a simple trumpet interchange. I think the contractor spent more time hauling equipment to and from the site than in actual construction. This drives up the costs. The project gets spread out because the state or feds do not allocate all the money up front but mete it out over the 3 years. So you end up with infrastructure that is built but unusable because the project is not complete. No company would build a new office build but then not use it for 2 years because the parking lot was not paved. Government does not care about the time value of the money or the inconvenience value to the citizens.

    • Let the States handle their own infrastructure and get the Fed’s out of it. Gas taxes stay in State then, less Federal interference.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Like the State port in Morehead City. The State, with Federal money the “Stimulus Act” resurrected building a highway that in reality has no purpose. the port can not be expanded in anyway nor made usable to any modern container ship. It is used by the Marine MAU’s departing from the bases near here. But the highway project was abandoned decades ago. Cities along the path, that had “bypasses” built to expedite traffic died. Business moved to the bypasses. Over the years niche businesses started moving back into the city centers and created a rebirth, With the “stimulus” from 8 years ago…..these cities are being bypassed again, and their trying to bypass others that through spending on new traffic patterns destroyed 40% of the businesses. But then the Feds just tossed it off and said, we’re bypassing you anyway through the Croatan National Forest with a 500 ft wide swath, so don’t bitch…..8 years of construction and very little has actually been done except moving dirt from one pile to another.

The government, both State and Feds, tried to totally disrupt the traffic pattern in Morehead City. This city is on a spit/peninsula of sand, so there is water on three sides with literally 3 blocks of land before you hit water. They cited traffic accidents and hazardous driving conditions to try and force the changes…..The city pushed back and said, PROVE IT and show us the statistics. The State and Feds refused to disclose their data. In other words FAKE data. I’ve been driving through that city for over 20 years and my family had a home there and have actually witnessed zero accidents. Obviously there have been some, but actually NONE had been as the Feds DOT stated but were usually low speed rear enders. or actually somebody pulling out of a business from the right.

The City fought and won and life proceeded onward.

The State was going to put a sulfur processing plant smack in the middle of the tourist area and charter marine fihing port. They kept it secret claiming the city and town of Beaufort had no right to object. The State claimed it would generate 12 jobs……at the expense of how many other ones? The whole deal was to reduce some costs to a phosphate company in Aurora. The Aurora plant can not move so threatening to do so was a false argument. They can not move because that is where their raw materials are.

  11. RE: Elimination of corporate taxes – I would eliminate corporate income taxes and replace it with 1) a 5% tariff on all imported goods, and 2) a national sales tax. The sales tax would tax all goods whether produced locally or internationally. This would reduce the incentive for off-shoring. It also conforms closer to what Europe and other countries do so overall is more equitable. I do not know what the sales tax rate should be but it should with the tariff, make up the loss of the corporate income tax. I do not favor a VAT since this includes too much paper work. The sales tax is levied at the point of consumption.

Re: FED – The Constitution clearly states that only the Federal government has the right to print and coin money. Congress had no right to grant this to a private party.

    • With a smaller government, the amount of money to fund it would also shrink. States can collect sales taxes and provide a percentage based on the State population. Example, the State would collect sales taxes instead of income tax, and send the equivalent of 2 dollars per state resident at the end of the year. It may be 5 dollars, but the point is that each person would have skin in the game, not just companies and those who work for a living.

      • The original Fed taxes were per capita, excise and duties. This would be consistent with a per capita tax.

      • All taxes have an administration and collection cost. The income tax is probably one of the most expensive for both parties. I agree, let the states collect it as part of their sales tax and pass it back to the feds.

  12. G Man…..”Not really, the Constitution provides Congress the authority to regulate commerce between the states. When issues such as deceptive trade comes up which involves more than one State, that’s when the feds are allowed to intervene and solve the issue. I didn’t write it, just sayin”..

But, you are an advocate of State;s rights……I am also…..but….and here goes, this is what started the Civil War, did it not. If Georgia wanted to sell its cotton to New YOrk for $1000 per bale but decides to sell it to New Jersey for $500 per bale…..it should be able to do so…no department of commerce…nothing. Just trade agreements among states.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

IF I had read the history correctly, the “mill” owners tried to force congress to pass laws that forced the South to sell their cotton cheap to the northern mills, therefore enhancing their profit, and also restrictive tariffs of goods going in and out of the south to elsewhere, like Europe,

    • Just trade agreements among states.

      Section 10

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State,…..

As you can see, States are prohibited from making agreements between themselves without the consent of Congress.

The dilemma comes from “the state” deciding to sell. The answer is that a “person” should be able to sell at any price they agree to with the buyer of another state.

The issue of regulating interstate commerce was over the tariffs and other govt. imposed restrictions. Eliminate State Govt. control over interstate trade and the Fed needs to do nothing else.

  13. Dale A Albrecht says:

“Perhaps worst of all, Merkel’s great defense of “European values” could mean a forever changed European life. The border-free world that symbolized peace and prosperity, and that was the practical experience of widening freedom and possibility for Europeans under 45, is now a source of danger. German mayors warn women not to travel unaccompanied or seem too “frisky,” lest they invite an assault. French synagogues are surrounded by military personnel. Major events in large European cities are heavily guarded with the portentous and menacing presence of machine guns and bomb-sniffing dogs. Instead of finding new ways of integrating migrants, the individual European states are coming up with new ways to surveil them. This is a Europe no one wanted”.

The Muslims have won, if the women are being told that they are at fault for traveling unaccompanied of being a free liberated women. When gangs of muslim youths were harassing the Dutch girls and ladies who were riding their bikes unaccompanied, and uncovered (or being immodest) and all the State did was uphold the muslims complaints that they were offended and the State told the women to be more tolerant and stop doing what you are doing and cover up if you do not want to be harassed….how about going after the gangs?

FYI the Turks that were guest workers back in the 60’s and 70’s DID NOT demand the europeans change and adopt shiria practices as the muslims are doing now.

    • Europe has screwed itself. France, Italy, Germany and others are learning the hard way that multiculturalism will never work. The experiment that the United States was in it’s infancy may have succeeded, but it did so BECAUSE of religious liberty. The current state of Islam over there is showing that Islam and other religions likely will never be able to coexist. We are learning that as well, but we are a bit different. We are an armed society, most of Europe is not.

  14. JAC…….would you support a quid pro quo……..If, say, depreciation is corporate welfare ( ie a deduction as an expense )……would you support the same treatment for individuals….say, no child care deductions or interest deductions on mortgages? Is not any deduction, a form of welfare?

    • If the Federal tax code wasn’t such a cluster$#@k…………………….

    • Just A Citizen says:

      d13thecolonel

Point of order: I do not consider the depreciation allowance itself a form of “corporate welfare”.

However, there are some types of depreciation and/or amortization which I think get close. The oil and forest products industries get some of these.

Yes, I would be in favor of an across the board SINGLE RATE, Income tax on Gross Income. No matter the source. One Rate for everyone.

I would be OK with certain deductions if those are also allowed across the board. Depreciation OK for business then it should be OK for personal tax returns. Health care insurance deductible for business, then it should be deductible for private citizens.

      • Out of curiosity, what do you not like about the oil industry deductions that you do not like. Since we are in it, on a small basis, what do you consider “corporate welfare” in the oil industry.

Here is what I consider corporate welfare: (1) ANY subsidy given to any industry for not doing something that is designed to control prices. For example, my pet peeve, the giving of dollars not to grow a certain crop. This is done to stifle competition and to control prices. (2) the using of tax payer dollars to keep a corporation alive….AMTRAK for example. The US postal Service as another example….Green energy companies as another example. (3) Guaranteed government loans that are below normal commercial interest rates. (4) The exception policies that some companies get as personal perks….such as the close friends of Nancy Pelosi that received exemptions from Obamacare. Dianne Feinstein and out going Senator Reid, whose constituents are exempt from Obamacare and the surcharge.

There are more but these that I listed are not available to the general public. There is no cost of doing business and in the example of the US POstal Service, which lists being a private company among its attributes, the pensions that are available are paid for by the government,

While you are at it, what is it in the forest industry, out of curiosity?

As to depreciation, everyone can use depreciation. No one is exempt. You can use it tomorrow if you want. But, as you said, you do not consider this as welfare, as such. It is considered a cost of doing business and directly results in contributions to 401(k). It is a cash flow item that can be passed to employees…..

How do you feel about tax deductible contributions to pension plans ?

        • Just A Citizen says:

          d13thecolonel

The oil and timber industries get some special accelerated depreciation. At least the last time I looked or had to do books on one of them. Depletion allowances are hoaky in my opinion as are some of the rules for Capital Gains treatment depending on the “classification” of the owners. Investment vs. In Business.

Now these are not the only industries that occasionally get special deductions or gains allowances. Congress has often used the tax code to “reward” those they want to thrive.

I agree that crop subsidies and CRP payments are outright welfare and should stop.

Everyone cannot use depreciation. I cannot depreciate my home. You can depreciate your “office” or your “ranch buildings”. But I get a big tax free bonus on the gains of selling my house, and you get stuck with the gains on your office and ranch buildings.

I do not understand your comment about depreciation feeding 401K’s. I have never seen any real connection indicating that one drives the other.

I do not like tax deductible pension plans. I DO NOT LIKE TAX DEDUCTIONS. I DO NOT LIKE TAXES BUT I REALLY DO NOT LIKE DEDUCTIONS.

I want a base flat tax of 10% on gross “earned” income for ALL AMERICANS to fund our basic Constitutionally authorized Govt. programs. Any expenditure needs above that revenue should be covered by targeted taxes on the “users” who benefit from those programs.

P.S.: I want to see the Cap Gains rate criteria returned to 1 year or more, or eliminated all together and lumping Cap Gains with earned income. At 10%.

        • Just A Citizen says:

          d13

Sorry, forgot the example you wanted for timber. There are ways to ammortize the value of the growth of your forest inventory and to delay the cost deduction until revenues are gained.

You plant a tree for $2.00 you should deduct that expense when spent. Your tree grows until you cut it down at get $500 for it 60 years from now. In year 60 you should have a $498 Capital Gain. But the rules were created to encourage non industrial owners to keep their land in forested conditions. So they created special allowances for expenses and treatment of income.

I admit it has been over ten years since I had to fill out someone’s T-Accounts for their timber lands. Some of this may have changed but I doubt it.

Now several years back, I think during Bush II, the Govt changed the tax rules for REITS which caused a major change to the Timber Industry itself. That is businesses with sawmills who also owned land. Might have even been Clinton and the Dems. The goal was to increase the tax breaks for certain REIT’s, who were friends of the Fed power brokers.

The result was these timber companies divested themselves of the land, created timberland REITS to get preferred tax treatments, at tax burdens far lower than they had before. Even with the special timber allowances. But once these separate entities were created it opened the door to major players who were not in the business of growing timber to feed their mills. Only in maximizing the short term return on their land investment.

The result has been the over harvest of large tracts of timber land in the west. Those brothers from Texas bought up a bunch of this kind of land. You may recall when I mentioned this before. They got the old Boise Cascade lands.

Now this is all only at the Federal level. States also have some special tax rules relative to timber lands and taxing stumpage vs. log sales vs. lumber production.

Again, I do not consider special tax breaks that simply reduce tax burden as “welfare”. I do consider them wrong because it allows Govt. to pick winners and losers, thus increasing the demand for corruption in Govt.

Welfare is when you take my money and pay some one else. Tax credits that give you a refund when you have Zero taxable income, for example.

      https://www.downsizinggovernment.org/transportation/high-speed-rail

There have been pieces of this article or similar analysis done over the years. It is actually quite comprehensive from a global point of view. The one thing the author forgot is that most freight in Europe travels by barges on coastal trade, rivers and canals. We here in the US actually have very few rivers by comparison and a far shorter coastline.

Even though Europe is just a large metropolitan area with short runs between cities making high speed rail appear seductive the tax payer is really gouged to sustain it. I wanted to for the novelty take the high speed rail system through the Chunnel from London to Paris. Even with it going city center to city center the cost was to much. It was far cheaper for two to fly then grab a shuttle of some sort into Paris. Very little time difference.

      • For passenger transport, rail is 19th century technology. For freight, it is one of the more efficient methods per ton-mile. We should be concentrating on transcontinental high speed freight. We just shipped a crate from CA to the east coast on Thursday. It was loaded into a truck and then into a container and placed on a rail car. Trip to the east coast is 4 days nonstop. So it will be delivered Tues. or Wed. High speed freight rail should shave anywhere from 25% to 50% off that time.

The CA high speed rail passenger line will be a net money loser for decades. If it came up for a vote again, it would lose.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

And then upgraded in 30 anyway. The base infrastructure is so expensive, plus the years of planning involved. All other modes are turned over in a far shorter cycle. CA’s analysis of its efficiency ignored the gains made by car and plane in every cycle.
We are really focusing on freight and have been for a long time.
Europe has not seen any drop in auto use because of high speed rail, especially since they deregulated their airlines and the budget holiday planes are used….far quicker and far cheaper. When the average person uses the rail <400 miles a year and in some countries 100, that isn't even to Raleigh from New Bern.

How do WH press secretary’s live with themselves. The criteria to get the job is to lie with the straightest face. Josh Ernest say that Obama has been the most transparent of any administration. I guess transparent means something different to everyone else. They openly destroyed supeoned (sp) documents from the IRS scandal. State under HRC destroyed documents being sought, lied, as did Holder, as Obama with the ACA…yes his administration was transparent in it’s flagrant obstruction of the investigative agencies and committees in congress. And it was so transparently obvious to everyone that Obamas DOJ would do nothing unless it was against a political opponent.
There was a report just this past week that said the Obama administration was a bad as Nixon’s.

    • “Obama administration was as bad as Nixon’s”

How so, Nixon was a choirboy compared to Obama.

      • Ahh, the big lie from people who were either not around nor care for truth. If you take all NIxon’s policy decisions out of the equation and all of Obama’s too, what you have left are the scandals.

Add to that extra legal policy decisions and Obama far surpasses Nixon. Be it domestic spying or toppling a foreign government, Allende in Chile, Obama got Nixon beat. Just for the hell of it, Nixon’s IRS and FBI said no when asked to lean on people and Obama’s went along with it.

Rather than admit it and move on Hiss lied and both went to jail and was broken. If you have ever seen pictures of both you would see this little fat rumpled man and someone who might have been a demi-god. Certainly everything you woudl want in a classic academic. Nixon was the one in congress who did the most to take him down. The LEFT NEVER FORGOT.

The Hiss controversy also was a lightning rod in starting Bill Buckley’s National Review. Chambers was an editor.

When Hiss was convicted of perjury the case was proven beyond a doubt by real evidence the left never accepted. Years later after the Soviet Union fell his membership was verified. There is something about Communism that is not like Nazism. Youthful indiscretions are allowed in the former but never the latter.

            • Dale A Albrecht says:

So in other words we are having a flashback. Holder lies and gets caught. Which from what I understand, lying under oath is perjury. Hillary did it countless times and provable. Congress has to refer the charge to the DOJ which in these cases would DO NOTHING. Our country in reality has become a lawless nation as we have accused Russia and others of being.

The left is will stop at nothing to destroy Trump and his family. Just think of the outcry if conservatives in such close proximity went after Obamas family, Or Chelsea or camped outside of HRC’s and Bills home in Chappaqua etc. I believe they’d find themselves jailed in no time flat.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

From a secrecy/paranoid point of view…..Just repeating an observation that was printed as opposed to my personal opinion…….Nixon was an amateur. Congress protected Obama whether it was Rep or Dem. The MSM absolutely protected Obama and treated Nixon badly from day one, but it will be nothing compared to what Trump will get. The DOJ protected Obama and his administrations transgressions where they did their job with Nixon.

  17. Barack Obama has signed into law a bill authorizing some $611 billion in funding for the U.S. military for 2017, but hidden inside the massive governmental document is a provision that is alarming free-speech and limited-government advocates: authorization and funding for a new center to decide what is truth.

The newly approved Center for Information Analysis and Response, or as it’s been dubbed, the “Ministry of Truth,” is being given power to not only make those determinations, but also do what’s needed to influence the American public to believe it.

“Here are a few highlights,” wrote a a blogger who focuses on government indoctrination through its Common Core education mandates, at What is Common Core:

“The new center will ‘counter propaganda and disinformation’ as defined by the center. … The new center will use ‘covert or clandestine special operators and agents to influence targeted populations. … The new center has 10 million dollars to pay select members of academia and journalism to ‘proactively promote fact-based narratives and policies,’ and ‘to expose and refute foreign misinformation and disinformation’ – as defined by the center.”

In fact, the law calls for the center to “provide grants or contracts of financial support to civil society groups, journalists, nongovernmental organizations, federally funded research and development centers, private companies, or academic institutions.”

  18. Has anyone really studied the pics posted of these mall fights that happened yesterday. We had one in an affluent section of Fort Worth last night. Take a hard look at the cultures involved in the fights.

The one at Hulen Mall was very short lived….a gun was pulled and the perpetrator was immediately out numbered by a greater number of guns pulled by shoppers. It was over before it really began. Only one shot was fired by the perpetrator, it hit no one, but he quickly decided that to keep the fight going was not a good idea. And, for you anti-gun nuts…..the people that were legally licensed to carry did not fire a single shot but controlled the situation very neatly. From what I understand, the young black man that fired his weapon was suddenly staring down the barrels of about 10 or 12 shoppers that recommended he drop it.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is finalizing a document that the Obama administration hopes will form the basis for a UN Security Council resolution that officially recognizes a Palestinian state before the end of Barack Obama’s term on January 20th. This comes on the heels of the UN Security Council’s adoption of resolution 2334 on December 23rd. That resolution declared that all Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal, it stated that the Security Council recognizes the 1967 ceasefire lines as the border between Israel and “Palestine”, and it officially gave East Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But it stopped short of formally recognizing a Palestinian state. Resolution 2334 speaks of a Palestinian state in the future tense, but this new resolution that John Kerry is reportedly working on would give immediate and permanent UN Security Council recognition to a Palestinian state.

“Therefore, on the first day of my term of office, my administration will immediately pursue the following six measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington, DC:

    FIRST, propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress;
    SECOND, a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health);
    THIRD, a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;
    FOURTH, a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service;
    FIFTH, a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government;
SIXTH, a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.

On the same day, I will begin taking the following seven actions to protect American workers:

FIRST, I will announce my intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205
SECOND, I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership
THIRD, I will direct my Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator
FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately
FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward
SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:

FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama
SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States
THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities
FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back
FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.

  27. JAC…..I do not understand your comment about depreciation feeding 401K’s. I have never seen any real connection indicating that one drives the other.

It does not drive value at all but it does drive matching contributions from cash.

    • The same rules of depreciation do, indeed, apply to you. You can have an office in your home and deduct costs as a result and corressponding utilities and taxes. You can do the same for your car. As an individual, you can deduct all of the insurance and mortgage interests…..

But, like you………I would much rather have no deductions and a straight tax policy…..you certainly can plan better.

      • Just A Citizen says:

        d13thecolonel

You need to explain the 401K connection to depreciation. I don’t know anyone who used depreciation to determine the 401K match. Plus it violates your “cash flow” rule on the business contribution side.

I understand that if you do the same things you also qualify. The point is that not everyone can do the same thing, thus the benefits are not really available to everyone.

Kind of like claiming that everyone over 500 K per year gets A, when most people don’t have what it takes to make 500K per year.

Without major overhaul or replacement, I think we should look at the general code in a different light. Namely that the individual is also in business. His/Her family business.

So all deductions allowed a regular business should be allowed for the individual. Like depreciation of automobiles, health insurance, life insurance, child care, etc. etc. Personally, I would rather have the tax free rule on the Cap Gain on my home. But I would really prefer a tax free Cap Gain on all real assets held for say, 5 years or more.

Breaking: Congress is preparing bills to defund the UN to be ready for President Trump to sign as soon as he is in office

    Good.

    Keep their coats!!!

  31. Dale A Albrecht says:

Last night I was talking to a very dear family friend from NY. Actually very concervative. She was telling me how one of her daughters and son in law are so convinced that Trump is going to get us into a war. These are seriously educated people mind you. My friend has decided not to really get into it with them, but are these people blind to not realize that we are in a war, not just a cold war but a shooting war. and will only become worse if a true stand for our culture and nationality. The same goes for Europe. The PC folks contend that the Islamic culture is valid and has to be tolerated yet is diametrically opposed to everything the west is or was. OK, but at the same time they are denying their own culture and it will be their demise.

Some interesting statistics. NY State went for HRC big time in the election on Nov 8th. But when you break down the data…..Mid-Hudson Valley which has 4 counties, Trump won 176,008 vs 173,044 ….The rest of the State outside of NYC proper, HRC had a margin of victory by only 760 votes. These are from NY State election records.

Thank god for the electoral college. If the Presidential candidate was elected by popular vote, NYC, LA, SF and Chicago would be running this country…to heck with the rest of us.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Totally mind blowing. Even the Feds admit that they have no means to vet these refugees and then the federal court says a State has no rights to deny the federal government from dumping them into a community.

When the US had massive immogrations in the past, people just did not jump onto a boat and land here. In most cases there was a reason to get people here and they had to go to a consulate for a visa, based on quotas etc, As an example the government wanted to settle the northwest along the Hill rail systems. Or they wanted artists or builders or farmers, all designed to build the country….all that is being built today and quite deliberately is voting constituancies for power.

  32. Will Obama’s actions towards Israel and Russia backfire? It seems Obozo is trying to make legacy moves to save face for his failed Presidency. I don’t think Trump will have a problem reversing either of them. Thoughts?

    • The one thing I like about Hannity is that he has worked in the real world. He has done construction and other odd jobs so understands the plight of the common folk. These other talking heads are part of the elite and are completely out of touch. They need to take a sabbatical and go do some real work for a few months.

  33. I owe everyone an apology……So here it is……I sincerely apologize for missing the mark on my predictions three years ago…

If you recall, I showed a map on here predicting which countries in North Africa and Central Africa would be under Hamas/affiliate control. I predicted the fall of Syria and Libya and predicted Sudan, Chad, and the Congo….Well, was terribly wrong.

Add to the list above the following: Tunisia, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Camaroon. I did not expect them to move that fast and I was…….are you ready…….wrong. They moved much faster that I predicted.

In addition, I predicted the move into the South Pacific….Hamas/affiliates now openly operate in the following island colonies: Fiji, Cook, and Tonga Islands.

I was ridiculed that it would never happen and that I was Islamaphobic.

    Well, perhaps.

  34. Dale A Albrecht says:

I know some of this article has been printed on Huffpo in the past about the moment in time that the Democrats can allegedly put Garrett on the Supreme Court. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past them.

The rest of the article decries that Democratic Senator elections have polled more votes than Republican, yet the Republicans rule the Senate, The same for the House. Obviously the author/lawyer had missed all his civic’s classes in school about how the LAWS and government of this country are formed. It also goes to show the disdain that the Democrats have for those in opposition or the other voters who do not see it their way.

Like I posted yesterday…..other than the NY metro area HRC only polled 760 more votes than Trump.

    • I have never lived under the old Communist rule, but today’s Liberal’s sure seem to fit right in with what I have learned about such rule. Our education system needs some serious reforms, including ALL State colleges. None of this should be a surprise as all of this was outlined in the Congressional record in the 1960’s.

  35. The problem is that your whole system of social organization, from local to global, is based on/with coercion and deadly force to impose edicts.

Let me say that again for effect, and because people don’t seem to get it…

The problem is that your whole system of social organization, from local to global, is based on/with coercion and deadly force to impose edicts.

Until that key elemental principle function is addressed and corrected, any and all discussions or actions in government politics or social organization are pointless, as the result will only be more violence and enslavement..

This article is one example. Trump will do what every other presiturd does. He will accomplish nothing but to perpetuate the violence and enslavement that is statism. And hundreds of millions of idiot serfs will probably demand more of it next ‘election’.

Here is a list of things Trump will help to force onto everyone: http://www.loc.gov/law/

    • I like your idea…..no rules, no regulations, survival of the fittest.

      • Perfect for depopulation. One has to wonder if that isn’t the real goal of Anarchist’s, because they have to know the history of human activity.

        • The goal is peace, harmony, balance, growth, evolution, greater things, etc..

The problem is billions of idiots who consistently demand serfdom and barbarism upon all. The solution is for them to stop in favor of a better way. The problem with that solution is that people are selfish brainwashed stupid or evil and refuse.

That is where plan B comes into play. Plan B is to kill them all before teaching the next generation of children how to peacefully coexist. Plan B wouldn’t be arguably necessary if statists were reasonable. Unfortunately, it is enormously difficult to get statists to see reality and understand their evil.

Plan B is kind of like dealing with any other gang of thugs in your neighborhood stealing and beating and killing people. Asking them nicely, convincing them of a better way, generally doesn’t work. They insist on violating your community, thus you just have to kill the bastards before you can have a peaceful and harmonious community.

Statism, government is the same thing in principle. The difference is that it is a bigger and better organized gang, but criminal and terroristic (by definition) nonetheless.

          • At least you understand what it will take to get there…………..not that much different than any other tyrant who wanted their way. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, all did the same thing to get the people to comply with their world view. It’s still….forced ideology.

            • Do you know the difference between offense and defense? Offense is an attack or abuse or violence of some kind, while defense is a response to offense.

So if someone hires a guy in a super hero costume to drag you from your home, beat you, throw you in a dungeon, kick out your family and burn your home, steal your car and all of your transportable assets because you ignored the letter they sent telling you that you need to attach a list of symbols on your house and send them a thousand dollars, are they in their right?

I’ll make it easy and tell you the answer. It’s no. No, they are not rightful.

That means that you have a right to defense against it. It means that if you respond by filling them with holes or whatever necessary measure to respond to their violence, you are rightful.

If it is a few people, or a hundred, or thousand, million, more, …it doesn’t matter. The right to defense applies any time there is violence against you or your family/tribe, property, etc.

Statism/government is systematic violence, therefore defense applies. It is not simply about getting your way. It is about defending the right to exist freely as a human being.

      • That is not exactly how I would characterize it.

Mutually agreeable and beneficial rules are good(like traffic or workplace guidelines; the free market method). Forced rules criminalizing nonviolent behavior are not(like forcing people how to manage their life and property).

        • Well. you can’t be a little bit pregnant…If there are rules, someone has to enforce them. But your plan B refers to killing…..hardly a peaceful solution.

          • Who has a right to force their will onto anyone?

Who says rules have to be forced instead of being a voluntary guideline?

Do you have to be forced into cooperation with others, or do you do it for some kind of gain, something of value you get from it?

Traffic or the average workplace are good examples. You are not forced to go to work in a factory or office building. You do it because you have agreed to the terms and conditions in exchange for money or profit of sorts. Traffic is the same. Billions of people all wanting to get from A to B without incident, thus they follow the rules that facilitate serving that need.

As far as plan B is concerned; no, it is not peaceful. It is, however, arguably a necessary act of defense. If statists would acknowledge their evil and change, or at least give the option of opting out of their claimed jurisdiction, retaliatory force would not be necessary (at least not from those in a state’s ‘jurisdiction’, not to mention victims of state military actions).

How else do you deal with a violent gang who refuses to cease with their violence?

        • You will never get “mutually agreeable”, there is always someone who will disagree. Your world is nothing more than a Democracy………after the strong survive, majority rules. Not very free and peaceful when it must be enforced.

          • Traffic, work, this conversation, every peaceful human social interaction you can think of, …works on mutual benefit and free choice.

            Do you know the difference between democracy, other forms of statism, and Anarchy/Libertarianism? Because you sound ignorant. Please, allow me clarify;

Democracy is a form of government, basically majority rule by force. Other forms of statism/government are simply different forms of organizing forced edicts. Anarchy/Libertarianism is not government, but self rule, deciding for yourself how you are to live and manage your property. There are no forced edicts. You actually are allowed to be a human and act like a grown up in Anarchy.

Being able to CHOOSE for yourself is called FREE WILL. CHOOSING to cooperate with others for mutual gain in a nonviolent manner(like people so often do) is FREE AND PEACEFUL.

True Anarchy is exactly that; FREE AND PEACEFUL.

            • True Anarchy is exactly that; FREE AND PEACEFUL.

True human action isn’t. What part is so hard to comprehend? History is proof that humans can’t live free and peaceful, therefore, Anarchy is a pipe dream that would require humans to have a major DNA change. That’s not going to happen, EVER. Sounds great on paper, impossible in reality.

              • I don’t disagree that we have a DNA issue. We are naturally selfish creatures, and that gets us into trouble. I posit that understanding it is key to being able to live peacefully in spite of it. It is something that can be managed, although usually more difficult for the not so intelligent.

The alternative to Anarchy is always bad, ALWAYS. If you are right, that peaceful coexistence(aka Anarchy) will never happen, it means the alternative of slavery and barbarism forever.

While I think that is stupid and evil to enslave yourself and pimp out your grandchildren to kill and violate people as a matter of systemic order, that is your choice. My problem is that statists demand that shit upon me and mine in my home land. Voters criminalize my being a human. That is entirely unacceptable.

  36. George Soros comes out in a odd rant and says that Trump is a Hitler like dictator who threatens the New World Order. The New World order, aka, one world government, money, religion etc, was not long ago a conspiracy theory that was laughed at and considered absurd, by many of you here, as well as the MSM.

I have read and watched tons of stuff on many CT’s. Some are , well, alittle crazy and beyond belief. Others, are so blatantly provable it’s truly amazing that the “official” story can be possibly accepted by anyone.

    • Earth needs a new order. This one sucks. It is ‘Nineteen Eighty Four meets Idiocracy’.

What we need is global Libertarianism/Anarchy.

      • Short of a major depopulation event where small numbers of people just work to survive in their small area of existence, it’s a pipe dream. It’s just not in humans nature to live like that, never has been.

        • If willing peaceful social interaction works with 2 people, it will work with 3, or 4, or 5, or 50, 500, 500 million, 500 billion. …like it does with the average workplace. So, what is that principle function that makes peaceful interaction possible?

And if you are so accepting and happy to demand barbarism as a way of life, then I sincerely hope a gang of thugs robs you and kills your whole family after raping them and setting your house on fire. I am sure you will just love to be handcuffed while watching your son being gang raped in the front yard while your house burns and before having his throat cut, no?

If such a fortunate(as per your values) event actually occurs, I will congratulate your success and achievement. I will tell you how glad I am for you that you finally got your precious share of barbarism you so value.

          • Dude, it is you who has accepted the fact fact that a major depopulation event, whatever it may be, would be required to achieve your Utopian society. I only state a fact, that 7 billion humans can’t live under your Utopian ideology.

like it does with the average workplace. For the record, no it does not. I’ve NEVER worked at a job where everyone got along and agreed on everything, ever. You are delusional to think that people get along when at work. That is true “lying to yourself” bullshit.

Now come back to earth and think about reality. Anarchism sounds awesome, humans will never allow it to work, it’s not natural.

            • “Dude, it is you who has accepted the fact fact that a major depopulation event, whatever it may be, would be required to achieve your Utopian society.”

I am not a Utopian. I am an Anarchist/Libertarian. I do not argue Utopia, ..dude.

I entertain the the provocative thought of necessary force in defense of billions of statist idiotic serfs, mostly for argumentative purposes, playing with values and principles in the interest of awareness. But there is actually enough legitimacy in the position to be able to argue genocide as defense. That’s what makes it fun and interesting.

“I only state a fact, that 7 billion humans can’t live under your Utopian ideology.”

I am an Anarchist, not a Utopian.

“like it does with the average workplace. For the record, no it does not. I’ve NEVER worked at a job where everyone got along and agreed on everything, ever. You are delusional to think that people get along when at work. That is true “lying to yourself” bullshit.”

If you care to notice, billions upon billions and billions of people have been peacefully cooperating for reasons other than being forced to, and for thousands and thousands and thousands of years.

What planet do you live on?

“Now come back to earth and think about reality. Anarchism sounds awesome, humans will never allow it to work, it’s not natural.”

Maybe you are the one on another planet, with your apparent inability to recognize reality. You are arguing in favor of violence and barbarism, that anarchy government and utopia are the same thing, and nothing that happens like traffic, and that average workplaces everywhere don’t do what they do and have for a long time, simply because you have a work history of social issues or whatever.

…and you tell me to come back to Earth? Siriusly?

          • The fourth Amendment actually protects your right to have your person property and privacy violated. All it takes is a man who says magic special words, has a reason, and describes it on paper. There is your right to barbarism protected right there.

It sounds ridiculous when I state it in a more direct truthful form, huh?

            • It is exactly why your Utopia will never happen, people gather and make rules, which require enforcement. Without, the strong will take over and make slaves of the weak. It could be much worse. Much, much worse.

              • I am an anarchist, not a utopian.

What are rules? Why do we have them? What is their purpose? Who do they serve?

Really think about that, …dude. What are they for?

              • …And what does that have to do with your fourth amendment right to be violated on the condition of a religion ceremony or whatever such BS it is?

              • I like the term Utopian, just not for Anarchists. Anarchists are behind the Liberal/Progressives and the Muslim’s to claim that title. Not sure which has more.

            • A sample of humanity:

Endless wars. Toxic politics. Violence. Hunger. Police shootings. Mass shootings. Economic downturns. Political circuses. Senseless tragedies. Loss. Heartache. Intolerance. Prejudice. Hatred. Apathy. Meanness. Cruelty. Poverty. Inhumanity. Greed.

              Ideology can’t fix this.

  37. The United States on Thursday expelled 35 Russian diplomats and closed two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland in response to a campaign of harassment by Russia against American diplomats in Moscow, a senior U.S. official said on Thursday.

The U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters the Russian diplomats would be given 72 hours to leave the United States. Access to the two compounds will be denied to all Russian officials as of noon on Friday, the official added.

“These actions were taken to respond to Russian harassment of American diplomats and actions by the diplomats that we have assessed to be not consistent with diplomatic practice,” the official told Reuters.

    • FOX News: President Obama approves sanctions on Russian intel services and shuts down 2 Russian compounds in US, kicking out 35 operatives for Moscow, in response to US election-related hacking.

  38. Dale A Albrecht says:

    http://observer.com/2016/12/sanctuary-city-mayors-urge-obama-to-take-last-minute-steps-to-shield-the-undocumented/?ref=yfp

“De Blasio is currently battling a Republican lawsuit at home that seeks to stop him from purging the files of his municipal identification program, believed to contain the private details of thousands of undocumented immigrants across the city.”

“The Obama administration has already made one move that could frustrate Trump’s agenda: dismantling ex-President George W. Bush’s National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, established in the aftermath of 9/11 to track non-citizens inside the U.S.”

The question has to be asked and answered by these “democratic” mayors…..who exactly is most harmed by allowing “undocumented/Illegals” to remain in your cities…..It is the very people at the lower end of the economic spectrum that you claim to have in your best interests……Back in the “old” days as new migrants moved in, the previous wave moved on and moved up as the country was being built. Today, there is literally no place to go, no new frontier, but stay trapped in a perpetual black hole.

In general has there been any out-going president do so much to deliberately derail the in-coming president and poison international relation? Not that he didn’t seriously damage them during his 8 years, but makes his latest actions extremely difficult to overcome,…..Trump not only has to watch his back with the Democrats, but a large amount of senior Republican senators, like McCain and Graham and McConnell……He has to be absolutely on guard when the republicans say “we’re here to help, what can we do?”

  39. @ Gman, ..everyone

Gman – ” ..people gather and make rules, which require enforcement. ”

What are rules? Why do we have them?

Why do you posit they require enforcement?

    • Human nature. You can’t change nature. Even with the best intentions.

      • But what are rules? Why have them? What purpose do they serve?

        • I refer you to God. If you don’t believe in God, then reference any number of Scientific journals on human behavior, That’s a good start.

        • I would simply define a rule as a standard or guideline for organization. It is usually something necessary and/or beneficial to everyone involved in whatever goal or endeavor.

          • Thou shalt not kill……….think Chicago……..rules are only for those WILLING to abide by them. Hence, the ideology of Anarchy can only exist as long as the society abides by the rules. Humans can’t abide by the simplest of rules, despite all the rules in place, yet you think your ideal society can exist? pipe dream at this time of the world. maybe in a different time. Even Little house on the Prairie wouldn’t qualify, LMAO 😀

            • Do you accept my basic definition of what a rule and it’s purpose or function is; a necessary and/or beneficial standard or guideline for an organized goal or endeavor?

            • I’ll move this along…

Here is a good example of a rule: “NO GLASS CONTAINERS IN SWIMMING AREAS”

This is obviously a safety oriented rule to address a typical and legitimate issue for everyone when mixing glass and public/commercial swimming areas with concrete and other hard surfaces. Glass breaks and scatters all over walkways and into the pool where you can’t see it, people get cut and spread disease. It is simply better to nip it in the bud and not allow glass containers anywhere near the swimming areas.

If you want to go swimming, you cannot bring glass containers, or can leave them with the staff as you enter and/or pour it into a disposable container from the concession stand. Very simple, reasonable, practical, beneficial, and overall agreeable rule for everyone. As long as everyone understands why, people will follow it because it is a good rule. There is no need for enforcement.

In the event that someone brings glass, explain why that is a really bad idea and deal with it accordingly. Most will cooperate. For those who don’t, handle it as you would any other violation. For it is an act in defense of a collective swimming experience, and probably on private property, therefore by right of the owner/operator.

              Rule, enforcement, rightful.

What makes it rightful? What makes it a good rule? Why or how is enforcing it rightful?

  40. I’ll move this along…

    Rule, enforcement, rightful.

What makes it rightful? What makes it a good rule? Why or how is enforcing it rightful?

    • Two words answer your questions…common sense. It still doesn’t address how Muslim’s and Liberal’s are going to buy into the Anarchist ideology. They have achieved their human need to belong. Neither likes the freedom that America stands for (which is way overblown, it’s a damn police state). They have picked their core groups and feel as though they “belong”. You have chosen your core group, but your core group still has no significant belongists, at least not enough to change those outside your ideology. But in the reality of human nature, you and them are all the same, your belongists. You want a certain type of society to belong in, and you want others to belong too…even if it means death of billions to achieve that goal (your Plan B, not mine). Muslim’s, Liberal’s , Conservatives, Anarchist’s and all the other “groups” of people are all mostly the same. Humans who want to belong in their own little Utopian world. Sad news….Utopia don’t exist, at least not in the forms that “groups” want, it can never happen without the barrel of a gun. Even Anarchist’s will resort to force to enforce their Utopian ideology.

      • What makes it rightful? What makes it a good rule? Why or how is enforcing it rightful?

        • The collective thoughts of individuals …..the Belongist’s.

          • So, lemme get this straight, …are you saying that if more than one person agrees, it is a common sense and rightful rule, and rightful to enforce?

            • On the glass by the pool issue, only ONE person needs to think so, the owner. Nobody else’s opinion matters.

              • I agree. If it is a private owned pool, then the owner is the ultimate authority on his property management.

I am trying to focus on the values and principles in which the idea of a rule is based, starting with establishing what exactly a rule is, what purpose it serves. This is key in order to then establish what values and principles apply in terms of managing rules.

We can use any example to demonstrate the same principles, the glass example is only one. What about a rule at the workplace, home, farm, family outing, military regs, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc….?

What is a rule? What purpose does it serve? What makes it rightful?

              • Take this chat to new thread….AFTER you read up on tribalism and the organization of order within the tribe. It’s nothing new, nothing that will change. It is simply inherent to human nature.

  41. http://thefreethoughtproject.com/texas-parents-told-will-arrested-walk-children-school/

How did Texas get fooled into hiring a Liberal lunatic?

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

In my old country village in VT, children were not allowed to WALK, with sidewalks mind you to school. They’d be picked up by a bus and driven one block. Each child was required to stand in at the head of their driveway and be picked up there. Even if the neighbors had kids on either side they were NOT allowed to gather in one spot so the bus could pick them up all at once. The kids would be yelling back and forth to each other, chucking snowballs etc…..didn’t have kids in the school system so my only concern was to make sure I left to work early enough to not get stuck behind a bus.

So if it was against the law for a parent to step on school grounds to deliver or collect their child on the grounds of safety, how do they propose the children get to and from school unless they do what was law in VT.

  42. CNN, one of the media outfits that regularly complains about “fake news,” ran a fake news story of its own when it claimed that Russia was closing an Anglo-American school in Moscow as retaliation for President Obama’s sanctions.

“Russian authorities ordered the closure of the Anglo-American School of Moscow, a US official briefed on the matter said. The order from the Russian government closes the school, which serves children of US, British and Canadian embassy personnel, to US and foreign nationals,” reported CNN.

However, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova responded swiftly by denying that the school had been closed.

“US officials ‘anonymously informed’ their media that Russia closed the Anglo-American School in Moscow as a retaliatory measure,” Zakharova wrote on her official Facebook page. “That’s a lie. Apparently, the White House has completely lost its senses and began inventing sanctions against its own children.”

Zakharova accused CNN of spreading “false information citing official American sources”.

The misreported story is an embarrassment for the network, which has run a series of articles over the past month complaining about so-called fake news.

Russia’s actual response to the sanctions was to propose that Vladimir Putin declare “31 employees of the US Embassy in Moscow and four diplomats from the US Consulate service in St. Petersburg as persons ‘non-grata.’” However, Putin later rejected this measure.

Meanwhile, in a related story, a senior U.S. official told Reuters that President-elect Donald Trump could reverse Obama’s executive order once he takes office and allow the 35 expelled Russian officials to return to America.

  43. There is a new article posted. 🙂

  44. @ Gman

    Re: Plan B (killing billions)

I am going to tell you exactly what that is about.

It is an in your face argument whereby the process of thesis-antithesis-synthesis leads you to identify government as criminal and terroristic as well as identify a better way.

I posit a reasonable argument of defense against billions of idiot statists. In order for you to argue against it you must explain why it is so screwed up an idea. In doing so, you expose your own position as barbaric. By comparison the conclusion or synthesis is peace and order through nonviolence.

But we can’t get to that point because you straw-man ad-hominem and obfuscate the shit out of any reasonable train of thought, anything to avoid a legitimate argument to demonstrate the criminality of statism.
