  1. My favorite line from last nights debate (saw by accident): Pocahontas Warren : ‘I saw the cages of babies”.

WOW, so we keep babies in cages cuz we are so worried they will jump up in full diaper and magically learn how to run.

Big winner last night…Trump in a landslide 😀

Most likely the stupid kid wasn’t paying attention to a fast reaction game.

Actually the biggest blight in the country is the glut of LAWYERS.

We stayed at a fairly constant ratio of to population until the 70’s when society became victims and all injustices and perceived problems could be fixed with another law ie regulation. Going from 1/X people over 200 years to 4/X people in the last 40 years.

    • Mathius says:

There’s something missing in the reporting of this story.

The “victim” had a medical condition which made being hit in the head dangerous – so, HE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN PLAYING A GAME WHERE PEOPLE THROW BALLS AT EACH OTHER AND SOMETIMES HIT EACH OTHER IN THE HEAD!!!

The kid being charged, it seems, is being accused of deliberately targeting this kid and trying to hit in him the head, presumably knowing that it was dangerous. That sounds like perfectly legitimate grounds for a suspension. Doing something you know is dangerous to another kid gets you suspended… ok…

The “victim” wound up with a concussion and a black eye… it’s hard to know if the kid throwing the ball has a cannon for an arm or if the other kid just gets black eyes and concussions easily – I’d suggest the later as it seems in line with the idea of him having a medical condition which makes being hit in the head dangerous. So, again, HE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN PLAYING A GAME WHERE PEOPLE THROW BALLS AT EACH OTHER AND SOMETIMES HIT EACH OTHER IN THE HEAD!!!

If my kid had such a condition, and the school knowingly her in a position to get hit like that, I would sue the school into oblivion.

But the kid who threw the ball – unless there is some other extenuating circumstance not being reported – was just being a kid. Maybe a bit of an asshole, but still. No need for criminal prosecution, just a suspension/detention depending on the specifics.

More to the point, and I know this isn’t really a universally shared opinion in these parts, but jail is supposed to serve as (A) a deterrent and (B) a rehabilitation. I feel that, in America, we treat prison more as “punishment,” and I think that defeats those goals. What is “helped” in society by locking this kid up? The only thing it does is totally fuck up this kid’s life. It doesn’t stop other kids from being kids. It doesn’t teach him the error of his ways any more than someone reading him the riot act would. It’s just punitive.

      • Hopefully a reasonable Judge will toss this out, where it belongs, and chews out the idiot bringing the charges.

        • I always wonder for stories like this what’s being left out.

It’s always possible the prosecutor is just nuts, or that he has his hands tied by some particularly strict rule which forces him to proceed, or the “victim” had to press charges for some insurance reason, or or or or or or or….

But I’d be willing to bet 99 times out of 100, it’s because there’s something not being reported… the kid being charged knocked the other kid down and stood over him, repeatedly pelted him point blank in the head… or there’s some history of violent tendencies, making this the final straw… or he encouraged other kids to also aim for the head with the goal of seeing if they could kill the other kid…. something like that.. something that, when you’re in possession of all the fact looks more reasonable for prosecution than the click-baity story we’re hearing, fueled by numerous quotes by only only one side.

Maybe the prosecutor is nuts, sure… but prosecuting little kids for elementary school shenanegans probably isn’t great for job security either… so I’d wager there’s probably a big piece of the puzzle we don’t have.

That said, in all but the most extreme cases, I think prosecuting minors is absurd… so I’m not saying the DA is right here… I’m just saying it’s probably no so black and white as it appears.

  5. Look, Trump is a shit-head.

And he said some really shitty things about Baltimore the other day.

And I get why Maryland might be a biiittt… touchy about him right now.

But, come on, yesterday was the 400th anniversary of Jamestown*… just enjoy it.

*not its founding, but its government.. this was the 400th anniversary of its first legislative session. The town was founded-founded in 1607.

    • He actually told the truth about West Baltimore, which is in Cummings district. He didn’t call the people bad, but sure has shed a big bright light on the failures of Democrat political control.

trump is amazing, he is actually going to force democrats to defend rats”.
      -Rush Limbaugh

      • There is a difference between recognizing a fact and attacking people.

Trump said some true things. He did. Some of his observations where – absolutely – legitimate.

That said… Cummings criticized conditions at the border and the border patrol, and Trump responded with an unhinged twitter rant. This was an attack on Cummings, personally, and his district.

I saw Steve Miller on Fox a few days back and he asserted that, when Trump criticized America he was doing it from a “place of love” whereas with the progressive congresswomen did it, it was because they hate America. I remember grating at that. But I see it here in reverse. What Sanders said was “things are bad, this is unacceptable, we can do better.” That’s a “place of love.” He wasn’t attacking Baltimore, he wasn’t attacking Cummings, he was noting a problem and saying we should do better. Conversely, Cummings pissed off Trump, and he responded with the following:

“His district is considered the Worst in the USA” – unsupportable accusation

“Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.” – unsupported accusation

“If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place” – personal attack, also what makes him think Cummings could fix it unilaterally or that his time isn’t best spent in Washington serving his district?

“it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States.” – citation required

“No human being would want to live there. ” – objectively false

“How much [federal funds] is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!” – unsupported accusation

That’s not “coming from a place of love.” That’s hostility.

        • If I knew how to laugh in here without LOL….I would do it…so, I just laugh at my computer wondering why you do not see parallels…..but then you would simply fall back on the :two wrongs do not make a right.”

          • Did you listen to the speech from Sanders? He’s saying we need to invest in Baltimore and help make it a better place that lives up to America’s potential. He’s lamenting the situation and saying we should do better.

How is that in any way comparable to Trump’s rant which was clearly an attack on Cummings and his district.

If your kid is doing poorly in school, this would be Sanders saying “these grades are terrible, you’re a smart kid, you can do better, lets get you a tutor, let’s try improving your study habits, let me sit down with you and go over the material to see how we can bring these grades up to where they should be.” Trump would be akin to “wow you’re a fuck-up. What a moron you are, you idiotic piece of shit. You’re a failure and you’ll always be a failure! No one would ever want to be you.”

Both might be acknowledging true facts – that the kid is fucking up and has terrible grades – but one is clearly saying how things can/should be better while the other is just crapping on him.

    • Ummm, haven’t you heard America’s past and present is too racist and evil to be celebrated.

  6. I’m assuming this was you, colonel?

Texas Man Caught With Missile Launcher In Checked Baggage

The item was not live, they said, but it was confiscated and handed over to the state fire marshal for safe disposal.

    BOOOOOOOOO!

    • You assume incorrectly…..(1) I would not be caught….(2) it would not have been empty.

      • Do you have some magical luggage which is shielded from x-rays? And, if you do, doesn’t that raise an eyebrow with the TSA to make them want to give it extra scrutiny?

Or, perhaps, you just shove the rocket launcher down your pants and assert that it’s… *ahem* all you..?

        • First…..there is NO room for a rocket launcher in my pants…..I AM from Texas, after all…..and, second…..Colonel’s luggage does not fly commercial when coming from over seas…

And, as Special Forces during Vietnam, I stuck an Ak 47 and a .30 cal carbine in my duffel bag, threw it on “FLying Tiger Airlines” (yes, there really was one)….and came home….however, back then, there was no screening of luggage.

In modern times, as a Colonel, I do not have to go through the scrutiny of the MPs…..I am an officer and gentleman by act of Congress….and simply state that I have no contraband and my baggage goes on military aircraft…..then, simply meet it at the base when it comes in, and, as a Colonel and officer and gentleman, simply state that my luggage is free and clear of any contraband and go home….

That said, I had no artifacts or weapons that I wanted to keep from Kuwait, Bosnia, nor Afghanistan.

    • Why would this be a problem? They aren’t testing nukes or ICBM’s. That’s winning to me.

    • This is nothing new…been going on for,,,,,Decades.

On this subject……seems to me, one time not too long ago in a galaxy not too far away, I once adopted an attitude of no negotiation with North Korea. Do not negotiate with rogue governments….to whit, a certain individual (Mathius) whom I will not mention (Mathius) made a comment to me about, What is the harm in negotitiating, the current methods we have used are clearly not working….so, what is wrong with Obama trying a different approach….to which he was praised.

      My, how times change.

      • They are firing sling shots to make people nervous…..the same slingshots as before…just a larger rock.

      • This is nothing new…been going on for,,,,,Decades.

Agreed… but I was told that Trump was supposed to have fixed the situation or, at the least, significantly improved it. How is “firing shots to make people nervous” a significant improvement?

On this subject……seems to me, one time not too long ago in a galaxy not too far away, I once adopted an attitude of no negotiation with North Korea. Do not negotiate with rogue governments….to whit, a certain individual (Mathius) whom I will not mention (Mathius) made a comment to me about, What is the harm in negotitiating, the current methods we have used are clearly not working….so, what is wrong with Obama trying a different approach….to which he was praised.

I’m not sure where you’re going with this. Obama wanted to negotiate and was roundly crapped on by the right (and Fox).

Trump wanted to negotiate and he was roundly praised by the right (and Fox) and it was suggested that he should get a Nobel prize for his efforts.

I see nothing wrong with Trump negotiating with NK. I see nothing wrong with him bombing the crap out of them either, for that matter. The only thing that would be “wrong” would be continuing the bullshit that hasn’t worked for the last several decades.\

IN FACT, I have gone so far as to (repeatedly) suggest that Trump might well be the best person to deal since, whatever else he may be, he what he isn’t is business as usual.

THAT SAID, my point is that Trump et al have been taking victory laps on the topic and it doesn’t appear that said victory laps have been entirely earned.

        • There is no victory lap to be run, in my opinion,.,,,,NK will continue to pay lip service to get food..they are starving to death…..

For some reason, we run scared of antagonizing China……..screw China….we do not need them.

          • Again, not really my point.

Given that we agree there is no victory lap to be run, my point is that Mr. Trump DID take (several) victory laps and received enormous laurels from the right and calls for a Nobel prize and and and…

But the situation hasn’t really changed, now has it.

And I think there should be some recognition of this.

      • Mathius says:

        Careful about that confidence.

Many would have said the same of Trump in 2014.

If nothing else, it’s entirely possible that he’ll finally say something that crosses the line and alienates his base. I’m not overly confident in anyone (maaayybee Bernie) on that stage’s ability to go toe-to-toe with Trump in the general, but I am quite confident in Trump’s ability to destroy himself.

Not sayin’ it’ll happen, just that it could happen.

But would you really rule it out that he might go on some twitter rant that even his base can’t ignore? That he says something truly racist or sexist or offensive to his base in some other way, and then just gets beat over the head with it for the next several months until his supporters stay home?

Again, I’m not sayin’ it will</i. happen, just that it could.

I’ll stand by this assertion: the biggest threat to Trump.. is Trump.

        • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

As Trump was absolutely right about what would (and did) happen to the aid money poured into Puerto Rico, he is right about Cummings District. As I said above, only an Uncle Tom for the d. establishment could possibly defend Baltimore.

        • If you feel like sharing, why don’t you think any of them can win?
Do you think Michelle Obama could win ? I still think she might jump in at some point.

          • If you feel like sharing,

why don’t you think any of them can win?

            Trump is…….. he’s a brawler.

He turned the 2016 election into a bar fight, and the traditional modes of competing just don’t work against that.

With the name calling and the petty insults and the overt outright lies, his willingness to promise everything to everyone, and then somehow get away with saying it never happened afterward…

He’s selling himself, his personality, his brand, and dry policy and platform just doesn’t resonate against that.

Bernie is the only one up there I see (though, admittedly, I don’t know who all 25 of them are) who has a personality cult as well, who can go head to head with “my team vs your team” instead of the losing approach of “my policy vs your team.” Bernie is loud and comes off as a true believer in a time when a lot of people are desperate for sincerity from their leadership. They may not agree with him – but then again, they may not agree with Trump either. You put him on the ballot and the left is going to turn out en masse – especially the youth vote – whereas the right is going to turn out for Trump regardless. Then again, if Bernie won the primary and had to track center…. not sure how well that would go…

Do you think Michelle Obama could win ?

            No.

But I do think there would be problems when Trump pulled any sort of petty name-calling against her. I would say he’d have to be careful of allegations of sexism and racism, but it seems he’s immune to such charges. He could call her a porch monkey and his base would find a way to explain it away.

That said, she is… poised, and comes off as dignified… who can say how that holds up during a campaign, but there could be something visceral in the choice between an unhinged narcissist and someone like her.

But I doubt it. I think he’d just come up with a nickname, drum up some fake pseudo scandal, and convince the left that she’s toxic.

I still think she might jump in at some point.

            Nope.

            • Trump is…….. he’s a brawler. YUP!! A street fighter.

He turned the 2016 election into a bar fight, and the traditional modes of competing just don’t work against that. ***flag thrown*** No sir….he stood up to the bullies thhat have always been there. That is what was different.

Then again, if Bernie won the primary and had to track center…. not sure how well that would go… I do not like Bernie….I think he is a pariah and blot on the annals of stupidity……but he has my respect in one thing…..he is consistent and does not back down. He tells the same lies as everyone and he simply (like Trump) does not care. I like that.

            • Wow, I have not seen nor heard the term, “porch monkey” since 1966.

  12. WASHINGTON, D.C.—President Trump has responded to recent charges that he is a racist, now producing a document that he believes for a fact proves he is not a racist: a rejection letter from the Ku Klux Klan.

“It says right here: ‘Not Ku Klux Klan material,'” Trump told the press, showing off the letter. “I don’t see how anything could prove my character more than that.” Trump then stated that if he were a real racist, the KKK would have said, “Come on over. Wear this hood. Burn these crosses with us,” but instead the opposite happened.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says she’ll have to reevaluate her stance on Trump given the new evidence. “I thought Trump was as racist as he could be, but that’s obviously not true if the Klan doesn’t want him.”
Other Democrats were not as impressed, such as freshman Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who stated, “Maybe it wasn’t that he wasn’t racist enough, but he just failed their fitness exam or something.”
Trump was undeterred from such criticism. “Least racist president ever,” he announced in a ceremony during which he hung the framed KKK rejection letter in the Oval Office. He hopes to have further evidence of his love for all races soon, as his application to a local chapter of Neo-Nazis is still pending.

What amazes me is that not one of the bushcrafters is from the States. 5 or 6 are Canadian, 2 are from England, 1 badass girl is from Austria, 1 is from Serbia, and this guy. Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hansen is from Norway. He’s an author as well, and with an American audience growing, he’s trying to get his novels published in English. I’m not saying they’ll do any better this time around, but I suspect they’ll at least give it a thought before just blindly ordaining the pre-ordained winner.

Mathius,, Orkin rates Baltimore as 3rd in rat infestation.

Even if it was true, what possible MOTIVE could Trump have had for bringing it up.

Do you think he’s concerned about the rat problem? That he thinks Cummings should “go back to where he came from” and personally start killing rats?

Or was it just another way of attacking Cummings and his district.

It absolutely BAFFLES me how you could possibly read Trump’s Baltimore twitter rant as anything other than an attack on Cummings and his district.

All top 10 cities in the rankings are ALL longtime Democrat controlled cities.

      Of course they are.

Virtually ALL big cities are controlled by Democrats. In particular, dense cities are the most blue.

I’ve seen rats in the NY subway the size of small children. Is your implication that, if it were a more Republican city, the rats would migrate elsewhere?

Rats live in cities – in particular, dense cities – because there are fewer natural predators and more abundant food. Additionally, there are more places where they can seek shelter from the elements (eg, the subway). You’ll note that there are no subways in Laguna Madre, but there are plenty of coyotes and other small predators. Gee, I can’t imagine why there would be more rats in urban centers!!

Rats have been living in cities since cities have been a thing that existed.

And Democrats have been controlling cities for decades now because that’s where the higher educated, the wealthier, the more diverse, the more urbane live. Those are (except for the very top of the wealth scale) all Blue Team’s bread and butter.

      But you know all this.

I have seen numerous videos recently, many people in Baltimore don’t want to live there or have a family there.

      Many people don’t.

Trump’s assertion was: “No human being would want to live there.”

So, again, I suppose it boils down to you pretending that his words have no meaning in objective reality and that whatever bullshit that comes out of his mouth and/or twitter feed can only be interpreted through the lens of those who agree with him such that the objectively FALSE statements become true. And, in fact, those who call a spade a spade are the true liars, and Trump is the victim of their fake news agenda.

FUCK THAT. Words mean what words mean. And what he said was FALSE. It was objectively false. And pointing out that some people don’t want to live there doesn’t change that one iota.

The trash is so bad one can’t see the yards under it all. How does it get this way? Culture? Bad political policies? Bad governance? All the above?

A little of column A, a little of column B… a lot of poor people living too closely together.. who knows? Not me. I’ve never been to Baltimore.

      • It was 100 % an attack on Cummings. It was not racist snd it was factual, no matter how many snowflake feelings get hurt. Cummings is on video from years ago saying the same damn thing. Maybe now the Crats will be embassassed enough to do something about their districts like this, country wide. Looking at this postively, it may turn into a blessing for the people trapped in these shitholes. On the negative side, it is showing the piss poor political leadership of the Crats. This is no longer deniable, it is fact.

      • Just A Citizen says:

        Mathius

That you asked this indicates you don’t understand how or why this food fight started.

“Even if it was true, what possible MOTIVE could Trump have had for bringing it up.”

Cummings started it with his outrageous accusations about the border when supposedly questioning the head of the Border Patrol.. Including a cute display of self righteous indignation and borderline tears. (Aside: These Dems are working on their next careers in Hollywood.)

I think Mr. Trump got tired of it and yes, probably took it a little personal, since it was in fact aimed at him. So he did what he does when attacked. He fired all cannons for effect. And then he keeps firing until he scores a hit. That hit may not be damage to the specific target but it is a hit on the methods of attack.

In this case, the Dems and Media have once again made themselves out to be more thin skinned and hyperbolic than Mr. Trump. They immediately jumped to the “racist” thing, then the videos and quotes of the Dems saying the same things about Baltimore surface. So now they also get to wear the label “hypocrite”.

They are just incapable of understanding that if they attack Mr. Trump and he responds, which he will, then STOP at that point. The more they talk, point fingers and accuse the more pig crap they seem to get on their face.

        • Cummings started it with his outrageous accusations about the border when supposedly questioning the head of the Border Patrol.

          No argument there!

Sure, Cummings was was hostile re the border.

          SURE!

So Trump should have REFUTED WHAT HE SAID LIKE A GODDAMNED ADULT.

If you come up to me and say “Mathius, I think you did a bad job on those trades,” it would be assholic and immature for me to turn around and respond with “yea, well you’re ugly and stupid and your house is old and falling apart and you should brush your teeth better!”

          That’s basically what he did.

Don’t like what Cummings said? Think he’s wrong? Prove him wrong. Show him up to be wrong. Just being pissed and launching an ad homenim tirade is juvenile.

and yes, probably took it a little personal

          He takes everything personally.

          He’s a thin-skinned narcissist.

So he did what he does when attacked. He fired all cannons for effect.

Because he’s a fucking man-child and has no other means of reacting to any slight, real or perceived, regardless of scale, cause, scope, or intent other than “firing all cannons.”

          Because he’s a thin-skinned narcissist.

nd then he keeps firing until he scores a hit. That hit may not be damage to the specific target but it is a hit on the methods of attack.

Because nothing matters to him other than “winning.” He has to feel like he won, and damn everything else.

          I WAS ATTACKED! I MUST RESPOND WITH ALL CANNONS!!!!!! ! !!! !!J !!! 1!! ! !! !

Did the city of Baltimore do anything to me? No? Well fuck ’em! They’re a rat infested shit-hole anyway!!!! !!1!!! !11!!!!!

They immediately jumped to the “racist” thing,

I won’t defend such accusations over this. It’s a go-to whenever he says anything certain parties don’t like.

They use it like a cudgel.

I do not believe this is the MAIN objection to what he said, nearly so much as it is just the LOUDEST.

then the videos and quotes of the Dems saying the same things about Baltimore surface.

See, again, I think this misses MY point.

Sure, Sanders said something critical of Baltimore. But it was in the middle of a speech where he talked about the need to increase spending on the city to help it improve and be better.

Trump said his piece as an attack, by your own admission.

Do you think Sanders was attacking a Democratic stronghold for some reason. Was he deliberately trying to belittle Baltimore? Of course not. He was trying to talk about policy – and in doing so, he acknowledge some unfortunate realities.

Trump was trying to “fire all cannons” at Cummings and did so, in part, by making a point of speaking ill of his district.

That – SOME – of the things he said were true doesn’t change this. He was attacking the district and it’s government and Cummings. Sanders was NOT.

Maybe you don’t agree with me, but -I- think there’s a difference between acknowledging sad truths as part of trying to fix them and using those same truths as a means to attack another person because he did something unrelated that you don’t like. I don’t think the two are equivalent.

So now they also get to wear the label “hypocrite”.

          They certainly are.

But I don’t think so on this point.

Trump attacked Baltimore with these things. Sanders was not “attacking” anyone.

If you build your own house, and I come for a visit, I might say “hey, JAC, I think this joint looks bad – what if we take it down and re-miter it, we could make the whole thing a bit more sturdy.” That would be fine. Or I might say “hey, JAC, your house looks like a piece of shit. No human being would ever want to live here.” And that would not be fine.

Even if both were entirely true (they’re not), which one is “ok” and which is not?

To say the two are different is NOT hypocrisy. It’s an acknowledgement of the context and connotations of the statements.

They are just incapable of understanding that if they attack Mr. Trump and he responds, which he will, then STOP at that point.

Why? Why should he get the last word? Why should he get to spout off his bullshit and attack everyone and shit on everything and say whatever he wants and everyone else should just take it?

Cummings had a right to be critical of the border situation. It’s his JOB to advocate what he thinks is best for his district. Maybe he was right. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe he was outright lying. I don’t know.

But Trump should have responded on the merits because that’s what GROWN UPS do. To just go off and attack the man the way he did was petty and juvenile.

And I don’t think the media should have to “just stop” because Trump said his piece.

I think it’s right to call him out for being an asshole.

          Why?

Because he was being an asshole.

Was Cummings also being an asshole? Did he go off on a tirade about Trump steaks being lousy and Trump’s ties being too long, and how he’s on his third marriage, and his hair is bad?

Honestly, I don’t know. If he did, he deserves to be called out as well.

But (A) he’s not the President and (B) TWO WRONGS DON’T MAKE A RIGHT!

          • Trump has everyone talking about poor living conditions here, in the US, which our fellow citizens live in, instead of everyone talking about the liberal lies about illegal immigrant detention centers. Thats not childish, thats genius. You really hate l9sing to him because he’s beating the snot out of the Left playing their game and their rules.

            Suck it up, creampuff. 🙂

            • You know, gman, sometime you can be a real asshole, too. Just like Trump.

No wonder you think he’s so great.

              • Well, i was raised Democrat, voted that way till Clintons 2nd term, then got smart. But still can’t lose the Crat way when it comes to politics.

          • Just A Citizen says:

            Mathius

First of all, you still operate under the false notion that POTUS should be above the normal fray. This is a more recent thing in our history. We have had POTUS that were “presidential” and some that were frankly, worse than Mr. Trump. Put in the context of their time. You don’t like your POTUS acting like this so you create far more negativity to attach to Mr. Trump than you would to say, Mr. Obama, even when he showed his Narcissism.

Next, you seem to think people were upset about Baltimore being attacked. Sorry, but even I can see through that ruse. All those howling about him are Dem operatives who’s only goal in life right now is to beat him into the ground. To GAIN or RETAIN the power. Mr. Trump’s attack was more than just attacking Cummings as well. Cummings gave him the opening, along with the COW herd. He is talking directly to those who have been voting Dem for decades while their lives got worse, and worse.

Please do not confuse this for me rationalizing or defending any of his behavior. But given the CURRENT context of politics and the media, I understand it. I think I can see what is going on and how it works both to his, or our, detriment or benefit. And, unfortunately, given our current “context” his methodology is quite effective at pointing out the hypocrisy and sleaziness of his opponents.

            • Here’s what I think, JAC.

I think the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is the President of ALL citizens of the United States, not just the ones who voted for him or support his agenda or who might help him win re-election. And I do not believe for a second that this President would have said what he did about Baltimore if Maryland were a swing state.

I think that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES should not be aggressively and deliberately cramping on entire cities full of his constituents – American citizens – as a way of scoring political points against their representative or because he can’t control his emotional reactions.

I think that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES should act like a leader and a grown up and I don’t give a good goddamn what historical precedents you can dig up to show past failures to live up to MY standards Two wrongs do not make a right.

Whether it’s Trump or the reincarnation of Jesus Christ himself, I don’t think this kind of behavior is acceptable.

              • Just A Citizen says:

                Mathius

EXACTLY. It is YOUR opinion based on your view of how a POTUS should act. FEELINGS more that hard logic. For example, no POTUS can be everybody’s president. There is absolutely no way he can represent everyone all the time. The best they can do in this regard is Stand Up for America, as a Nation.

I do agree, he could and should lead by example, however. I don’t like his example most of the time. But then my view of “presidential” has gotten every R POTUS skewered in the media and the claims of racism, ageism, homophobia, etc, etc. never stop from the D’s. So now you have someone who FIGHTS BACK.

Which brings me to this thought. With your “beliefs” you would make a great mainstream Republican consultant. The same guys who told GW Bush to turn the other cheek and act presidential when the Dems were calling him a baby killer and traitor.

One more thing. Trump criticized Detroit not long ago for its crime and decadence. Last I say Michigan was a “swing state” since it voted for Mr. Trump last time.

              • One more thing. Trump criticized Detroit not long ago for its crime and decadence. Last I say Michigan was a “swing state” since it voted for Mr. Trump last time.

                Fair enough – point taken.

That said, to restate my point a bit more accurately.

He would never have attacked a REPUBLICAN district the way he did Baltimore.

He attacked Baltimore because they were on the other team. This made them fair game. Detroit is heavily blue, too. So they’re fair game to attack.

Why? Because he’s only acts like the President to his supporters, not the rest of us. The rest of us are just illegitimate obstacles to his power deserving of nothing but his wrath.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

If I was a person throwing water and got tazered in the process………it might be a shocking experience.

    • It’s so interesting to me how Trump opens his face hole or tweets from the bathroom and says something assholic and then, like magic, a day or two later, you turn up with a political cartoon parroting his message.

It’s almost like, every time he says something shitty, YOUR SIDE gleefully piles on like a bunch of bleating sheep to repeat and amplify the attack.

Oh happy day! Our beloved leader has insulted someone, let us rejoice and join the attack on ::reads tweet:: Baltimore for being ::re-reads tweet:: rat-infested… stupid ::re-reads tweet again:: Alan Cummings! O_o

      • Maybe Cummings shouldnt acted like an Asshole in the hearing about the border, none of this would be a subject. Maybe Cummings should try an fix the problems instead of attacking people for upholding passed while his ignorant ass has been ignoring his district and getting wealthy for it. Maybe Cummings and the Crats are just acting like assholes over the border problem, that they caused to begin with. They ALL deserve what Trump slaps them with, they are useless pigs. Our side are just useless. 😀

      • Just A Citizen says:

And I think you are seriously misunderstanding or misplaying the why about these cartoons appearing. Just look at the one you posted. Is it really just piling on and playing off Mr. Trump? I DO NOT THINK SO.

It is far more complex than that. It includes the growing sarcasm about “everything a white man says is racist” meme.

You don’t see the reality in any of this??? Today, Rush replayed a tape from his visit to Charlie Rose 28 years ago where, with Rose protesting its impossibility exactly where the environmental movement was going to be in a few decades. Rush was right. Rose was wrong. Since I more or less channel Rush before he speaks (and in this case, long before I listened to him) I just chuckled. How in the name of God can anyone take the environmentalist message seriously when they have been so inconstantly wrong.,

Now if you are a dolt and somebody who believes that the secret meaning in the word “vermin” Trump used was directed at the people of color in Baltimore, then all bets are off on your ability to comprehend basic English.

As an aside, what, pray tell is the difference between “People of color”and “colored people”? Both times, the word “colored” is used as an adjective. Once in a prepositional phrase and once as an adjective directly modifying a noun.

  21. I’m betting that the DNC already knows who their candidates are. The Primaries will not matter, who counts the votes will matter. They have already proven that they don’t care who the people want, they still have the final say. While their emails likely won’t get leaked this time around, the game is still the same as back then, just with a different mask. I’m going to guess that the two will be diverse and further left of center that most Democrats will want.

    • and further left of center that most Democrats will want.

      That’s how primaries work.

The center rarely participates in primaries at the same level as the winds. That’s why you run left in the primary and track center in the general.

The primary voters will vote for the candidate THEY like, not the one that the center of the Democratic party wants.

So, OF COURSE, the candidate will be further left of center thant he mainstream wants.

      That’s how this works.

      But you knew that.

“If we don’t take action, then in 12 years we will have to explain why the world hasn’t ended and come up with a new number,” one UN scientist warned. “This is a very serious threat, and we urge everyone to hand control of the economy to the government immediately before we have no more time left to change the timeline again.”
The scientific consensus is that roughly 10-12 years from now, the world will be flooded with new doomsday predictions. This can all be avoided if we overhaul the economy and become socialists, according to non-political, unbiased sciencey type guys.
“Should we not change our ways, our old predictions will melt, dangerously raising the chance of us having to move the goalposts again,” said Al Gore. “Do you really want me to write another book, film another movie, and go on another tour in my private jet just because you dingbats couldn’t be bothered to alter your lifestyles? I don’t think so. Let’s all get on board with this 12-year figure, or we’ll have to push back the date again.”

  24. ::sigh::

I keep forgetting that it’s not worth arguing with g-man. Nothing Trump ever says or does will be wrong. It’ll always be the liberals’ fault, he will always be the victim, everything he does it just a reasonable response.

    Screw it.

    • Its ok…..you can argue with me.

      • I have had all my shots…..so you are in no danger.

        • But I do think that everyone is under-playing (is that a real word?) the Super Delegates. Bernie will not get them…Neither will Warren. The establishment will not let them go.

          • We will see.

I don’t think they’ll give them to Sanders. But I suspect they MAY have learned a lesson from the HRC debacle.

            • Ya know, Mathius, even I….who was as anti Bernie Sanders as the Flying Purple People Eater, even felt that the DNC is wrong in how they have super delegates all designed to get their person in…..everybody was howling about how Bernie was going to give her a run and I told my spousal unit….it is over. Even if Bernie matched Clinton in delegates….200 super delegates will put her in…..and they did.

The establishment is still too well entrenched and I think this is where, the supers will go with Biden…assuming he continues to be front runner. The money is still with the run o’th’ mill. It is the big money that still runs politics.

Now, that is not to say that they will thorw crumbs to someone else, because I think they will, but it will be the Super Delegates that control the DNC. Biden will be their man because, I do not care how much you think the youngsters will turn out……I think the non socialists will turn out in droves and no Democrat has been thoroughly attacked yet on socialist policies. 29. SUNLAND PARK, NM—Disaster occurred at the US-Mexico border earlier this week after the installation of seesaws on the border wall. Part of an art project by UC Berkeley faculty, the seesaws were intended to let kids on both sides of the border play with each other as a powerful statement about unity and love across borders.

Unfortunately, as obese American kids rushed to the seesaws to enjoy playing with their fellow humans on the Mexican side of the border, they accidentally launched hundreds of Mexican children over the wall.
“We did not see this coming,” said one Berkeley professor. “We just wanted the kids to play together and have some fun. But it seems like we didn’t account for just how fat American kids are these days.”
The Mexican kids were launched hundreds of feet in the air before landing on the American side of the border. Americans frantically set up a bunch of trampolines to catch them, though these bounced them pretty high and second, smaller trampolines had to be set up to catch them from their bounce. In the end, four trampolines in a row did the trick.
Hearing about the installation, those looking to immigrate to the U.S. rushed to the site and allowed the overweight American kids to continue catapulting person after person over the fencing installation until it was shut down by the Border Patrol.

Sir Mathius…..going to your argument that 2 wrongs do not make a right, I will refrain from repeating the things Obama said about Southerners and such……I am sure that everybody has a standard…..me, I would wear shorts and tennis shoes to work….where does it say it takes a suit and tie….? We draw up standards in our minds and we get upset when someone doesnot meet those standards….

Like me, for instance….I have a standard for children and young adults…..and the snowflakes of today do not measure up…but, to me,,,,,THEY have no standards.

    • Gman,

Your article says she falsely claimed this, yet provides ZERO evidence to support that assertion.

It shows a facility which appears to be fine. This facility, by the way, is run by a non-profit group, not a government agency.

That does not disprove anything she said.

It’s 1945 and I say there are concentration camps in Europe. You call me a liar, then point to a random town where Jews are living in peace. Have you proven me to be a liar?

No. Because that’s not how logic works.

To date, Warren has yet to provide photos that show babies being held in cages together.

Now, certainly, the burden of evidence lies with her to prove her claim. As such, her claim is “unsubstantiated.” Not “false.” “Unsubstantiated.”

But you cannot assert that she’s lying without providing evidence of your own. Which you have not done. As such, your claim is also “unsubstantiated.” Also not “false.” “Unsubstantiated.”

      ——-

In fact, because I know this is such a difficult concept for you to wrap your brain around, her claim is not even falsifiable.

YOU CANNOT PROVE SHE WAS LYING.

You would have to know everywhere she’s been and every single thing she’s seen in the last several years in order to know that she didn’t see kids in cages. Maybe there’s one bad facility somewhere? Who knows? Not you. Certainly not the impartial authorities at “teaparty.org.”

You have a nasty habit of calling people on the left liars without sufficient evidence, but you’ll defend to the death your dear leader in even the most overt of lies. That, of course, is because you’re a hyper-partisan kool-aid drinker.

      • You are right Mathius, I stand corrected. I’m sure Lizzy did see babies in cages and here are a whole bunch from the border:
        https://www.bing.com/images/search

Granted, these were taken in 2014, but still, I was wrong.

      • How many times have you and your side claimed Trump was lying only to be shown later that he was telling the truth. You did not give Trump the benefit of the doubt and still do not. His comments on Baltimore are straight up the truth. For that he is called all kinds of names. Maybe if people want to be treated like adults, they should themselves act like adults.

        • How many times have you and your side claimed Trump was lying only to be shown later that he was telling the truth.

I do not know about “my side,” but they are very, very quick to say he’s lying.

I am slightly more reserved, but I’ll call a lie a lie when I see it, and if I’m disproven, I’ll retract. I just retracted earlier today when I JAC pointed out that Trump is, in fact, happy to attack American cities in swing states as well as Democratic states.

You did not give Trump the benefit of the doubt and still do not

He does not deserve the benefit of the doubt.

He is a liar, a known liar, a proven liar, and he lies with reckless abandon is a way I have never seen by any other human in my life.

It remains baffling to me that you all can’t see that he’s a pathological liar.

His comments on Baltimore are straight up the truth.

I believe I have (repeatedly) stipulated that much (though not all) of what he said was true re Baltimore.

Go back and read what I’ve been saying. I’m not saying THAT was a lie. What I said was “And he said some really shitty things about Baltimore the other day.” And also “There is a difference between recognizing a fact and attacking people.” And also “Trump said some true things. He did. Some of his observations where – absolutely – legitimate.”

My complaint – here – is not about his truthfulness. That he IS a liar remains a fact, but it is not what I’m talking about re his Baltimore comments.

My complaint – here – is that he’s the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and is going on unhinged twitter rants crapping all over Americans and an American city because he was pissed off by their representative, and THAT’S NOT OK.

For that he is called all kinds of names.

What? Liar? Asshole? I’ll defend calling him those names to my grave.

Maybe if people want to be treated like adults, they should themselves act like adults.

So he should act like an adult then.

Until then, I’m going to continue arguing that he’s acting like a baby.

  31. T minus 15 days.

  32. Just A Citizen says:

    Mathius

Point of order: “He would never have attacked a REPUBLICAN district the way he did Baltimore.

He attacked Baltimore because they were on the other team. This made them fair game. Detroit is heavily blue, too. So they’re fair game to attack.

Why? Because he’s only acts like the President to his supporters, not the rest of us. The rest of us are just illegitimate obstacles to his power deserving of nothing but his wrath.”

    1. He did not attack Baltimore. He denigrated Cummings’ Congressional District. And given the context, that is Cummings’ constant hyperbole about Trump and his border enforcement, I think his comments were allowable. I also think they were damn clever although I am not convinced Mr. Trump thought out the other potential benefits. Like getting those responsible for the shit hole conditions to start defending them and getting those affected to start talking out against them. Several have made the news saying “President Trump is right”. Then there is the fact that for the past week all you and others can talk about is his Tweeting about Baltimore. Overplaying the racist card again, not you on this one, etc. etc. But NOT TALKING about the conditions on the border.

    2. He has attacked Republicans, their cities and their States in the same manner, when those Republicans have overly criticized him. Kasich ring a bell?

    3. A disagreement on this one more than a point of order. Mr. Trump has in fact acted more in tune as a POTUS for everyone than I ever saw from Mr. Obama. The difference is that about half the country have hated the man since the election. Only because he won and they don’t like his personality. But on the policy issues, he has consistently proposed solutions to benefit AMERICANS, not just those voting for him.

I will grant you this, but it applies to all politicians. Once in the running for office mode, which is all the time these days, they all focus on their “base support”. This usually shifts after the primaries but not so much anymore. I give you H. R. Clinton as an example of one who didn’t and lost as a result. Mr. Obama used to have these same kinds of rallies when POTUS, keeping his base fired up. So I guess now you know how the other half of the country felt when he was doing this.

Yes, two wrongs do not make a right. But doing things the other political side doesn’t like is not necessarily wrong either.

    • He did not attack Baltimore. He denigrated Cummings’ Congressional District.

      And his congressional district is………..?

And given the context, that is Cummings’ constant hyperbole about Trump and his border enforcement, I think his comments were allowable.

      And I do not.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

I also think they were damn clever

      Irrelevant. Though I’d disagree anyway.

Even if – IF – he scored political points and forced Democrats to defend bad policy / etc… it’s still not “clever” because it’s not “clever” to be an asshole. Long term, it always catches up with you.

Then there is the fact that for the past week all you and others can talk about is his Tweeting about Baltimore.

      That’s true.

      It’s almost like this was a distraction…

Several have made the news saying “President Trump is right”.

Why is this news? He’s right sometimes. Probably most of the time. Nobody is “wrong” all the time.

The problem isn’t the factual nature of his comments, but rather that it’s INAPPROPRIATE FOR A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO ATTACH A CITY FULL OF HIS OWN CONSTITUENTS TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS.

      2. He has attacked Republicans, their cities and their States in the same manner, when those Republicans have overly criticized him. Kasich ring a bell?

Not really… care to refresh me?

(also a reminder that Republicans are also Americans and THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SHOULD NOT BE ATTACKING HIS OWN CONSTITUENTS TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS).

Mr. Trump has in fact acted more in tune as a POTUS for everyone than I ever saw from Mr. Obama.

We’re never going to come close to agreeing on this one…

The difference is that about half the country have hated the man since the election.

Yes, they certainly did hate Obama since his election.

Only because he won and they don’t like his personality.

I can’t speak to “them,” but -I- don’t like him for the way he governs. I reeeeaaaaaalllly don’t like him because he’s an asshole and a liar.

I could get past him being a shitty person if he governed the way I wanted. I have said, many times, that I would happily vote for an ax murderer if they voted the way I want them to. Hell, I voted for Clinton and you know how I feel about her.

I think he’s a shitty person AND a shitty President.

And I think a key component of being President is unifying the country rather than deliberately being divisive because you’re a petty juvenile thin-skinned narcissistic who lashes out whenever your feelings get a boo-boo.

But on the policy issues, he has consistently proposed solutions to benefit AMERICANS, not just those voting for him.

That’s a matter of opinion. I happen to think he’s doing a shitty job there, too.

And you know I think that because I have been clear what I think about policy for a long time. And you know that I do not agree with him on policy either. Not just because it’s HIS policy, but because I do not agree with the policy.

And, by the way, that thing that every Republican spent eight years screetching about – you know, the national debt and the federal deficit and the trade deficit, too? – Remember how those things were national emergencies and the worst more terrible signs of the inevitable death of our country and Obama was dooming us all? ‘Cause I do. And I know you do, too. Because Trump has made those all so much worse. So, you tell me, on these issues, by his policies, has he made things better for all Americans?

I will grant you this, but it applies to all politicians. Once in the running for office mode, which is all the time these days, they all focus on their “base support”.

      I will agree to this……

Now, as I bookmark this page, I will ask you this question: given that he cannot have a third term and, if (god forbid) he wins reelection.. if he’s still so focused on his base to the exclusion of the rest of the country, what would you make of that?

Mr. Obama used to have these same kinds of rallies when POTUS, keeping his base fired up. So I guess now you know how the other half of the country felt when he was doing this..

Going to give a bit of a longer answer to this one when time permits…

Yes, two wrongs do not make a right. But doing things the other political side doesn’t like is not necessarily wrong either.

      Yes.

      It is wrong.

That’s the definition of “two wrongs don’t make a right.” Just because “they” do it, don’t mean “you” should do it.

      • The problem isn’t the factual nature of his comments, but rather that it’s INAPPROPRIATE FOR A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO ATTACH A CITY FULL OF HIS OWN CONSTITUENTS TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS.

You, young fella, need to learn to read. Trump attacked the living conditions in the West side of Baltimore, rightfully so, which in in District 7, Cummings district. He did not attack any people and he clearly stated the facts that it is a rat infested shithole. It is PERFECTLY appropriate to call out a failed politician with a perfect example of his failures. So, is your statement above a LIE or just hyperbole?

        • Then again, maybe those on the Left don’t really give a shit about how these people are living as long as they keep voting for Crats.

        • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Goddam it Matt, you do believe that when he said VERMIN it was a reference to people. Holy shit!

          • No.

I believe it was a reference to rats or other wild animals that are believed to be harmful to crops, farm animals, or game, or that carry disease (e.g., rodents).

  33. Just A Citizen says:
  34. Measured responses are not deterrents…..unless the response is massive to the point that there is no need for retaliation afterwards. It follows the axiom of….do not bring a knife to a gunfight.

Let us take Iran, for example…..shooting down an unmanned drone. You think this is not something worthy of a life. I see it vastly different. Oh, you hit an unmanned drone…I will hit your unmanned drone. Tit for tat wins nothing…..not even cupid doll. You shoot down my unmanned drone costing 1.5 million bucks, I will take out your palace for 1,5 billion bucks…and your staff with it.****

You take out a manned flight of 10 people, I will take out your capitol, your personal homes, and that of your leadership. We know where you live.

There is absolutely no need for nukes in this day and time….we already proved that we would use them in 1945 and the world knows it. Measured response is a sign of weakness not tactics nor diplomacy.

In Vietnam, when we received small arms fire from a village…..I would get on the “horn” and call in TAS (Tactical Air Support) and wipe out the village and whoever was in there. I did not risk losing men on a tit for tat exchange….I responded with quick lethal fire and, yes, villagers got killed as well. As a leader, my responsiblity is to my men…not being nice and measured. My success was bring my men home alive….full stop.

Same way in the Persian Gulf…hit my ship with a limpet mine…..I send your navy to the bottom of the ocean…in total. The military may have done the deed, but the orders come from on high. You come back and sink my ship or shoot down an aircraft…obviously sinking your navy did not get your attention….how about your palace and staff and people….how about your leadership in their homes.

Anyway, measured response is a yellow belly ticket out….oooooo dont hit them too hard, they may retaliate. Nope….hit them three times as hard,,,,make them pause on retaliation.
    ———————————

You know something else, concerning the shooting down of a drone…..it is common knowledge now that the attack Trump did not do…..had the leadership and their families targeted along with taking out their nuke plants…..all of them. He pulls off with 5 minutes left and for the public, he says, I did not want to kill people….but he sure let the target list get out….how many attacks against the US and how many US tankers have been captured since then…….none. I rate this a very smart tactical move….he got a postive reaction from the public, removed the stigma of a war monger, put the media in a stupid light………BUT……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….He let Iran know that his response was not going to be “measured” and he let Iran know that the leadership is not beyond reach.

Working so far………..that and the fact that Trump is still considered a loose cannon…and might just be crazy enough to do just that next time. I sure would. And Russia and China will say and do nothing other than bloviate in the media but the bottom line….you also send them a message.

*****there will always be collateral damage.

    • Measured response is a sign of weakness not tactics nor diplomacy.

I certainly could not pretend to have your level of military experience… it’s not like I’m actually secretly a general with an eerily similar name to “Mathius”….

      That said….

      Restraint is a virtue.

It is a sign of strength when a person or a nation can restrain themselves from flailing about them with the Big Stick at the slightest provocation.

I get that some people – many people – even most people – do not respect quiet self control and restraint and read it as weakness.

      I get that, I do.

But it’s not a question of weak when you can destroy the other party, but choose not to. It’s a choice.

When they flew planes into the twin towers, you know what was WEAK? Our fear-induced rage and psychotic cry for revenge. That we allowed ourselves (over my screaming objections) to be dragged into two land wars without clear goals or exit strategies. That we sacrificed our rights and freedoms to the god of “security.” That was WEAKNESS.

You know what would have been STRENGTH? Shrugging it off. Rebuilding the same exact towers on the same exact spot and saying to the world “we are too strong for you to break us, too strong for you to make us cower in fear, too strong for you to goad us into unnecessary wars. Too smart to surrender our hard-won freedoms out of cowardice.”

Look where the former got us.

And, to be clear, the later does not mean you have to be a push-over. You can rebuild with better internal structure and fire resistance. You can put a rocket launcher on the top. You can put together a team to hunt down Bin Laden just like the Israelis did with the Nazi-hunters. It doesn’t mean “rolling over and just waiting to be kicked again.” It means being smart and not letting the other party decide your actions for you.

      ———-

Wanna know how President Mathius responds to them blowing up my drone? You wanna know? Here’s how.

Pick out a nice spot in Iran – maybe one of those cute little islands in the gulf – figure out how much land it $1.5mm would buy. Annex that land. Build a fort. That’s American territory now.

Every time they piss me off, my territory gets a little bigger.

      Perfectly measured, dollar for dollar.

No need to escalate. Simply “action begets consequence.” Just like a school teacher. Because this isn’t a pissing contest. There is no contest. I have nothing to prove. I am the hegemonic power and I will unilaterally set terms and that is that.

Sort out the legalities however necessary, but that land is now mine and I have the Big Stick to defend it. If I have to withdraw from the UN, so be it. And I will pass any costs back to you in terms of more annexed land. They know they can’t win – they’ll just wind up losing more land.

Wanna see if they press their luck when, each time, they lose a bit more coastline? Permanently. There’s no getting around it, there’s no getting it back, there’s no “building a new one.” It’s gone, forever. Mess with me too badly, and you lose access to the gulf entirely.

If I don’t feel like holding it, maybe I sell it to Saudi Arabia. That should be fun. Maybe I sell it to Israel at an insultingly huge discount. That’s even better. Hell, maybe I sell it to Haliburton. Not my problem.

      • President Mathius,,,,,,the hedgmonic route that he dislikes… but that is cool if that is your decision. I would have to support it because you would be my President……notwithstanding the fact that I would think you were a dumbass…..with your head wedged neatly into your dorsal posterior……you are my President and I would, reluctantly, support you. I would roll my eyes, uncork a real Dr Pepper and quietly, behind your back, destroy all the churros within a 10,000 mile radius and then blame it on the Iranians.

        • But that is cool if that is your decision. I would have to support it because you would be my President

It is a fun thought experiment. 🙂

You know, when you think about it.. they can always replace a drone or a palace or a servant, or even a city. There ain’t no replacing lost land…

          would, reluctantly, support you

          Damned straight!

          Hail to the Chief, baby!

notwithstanding the fact that I would think you were a dumbass

How is that any different than now?

destroy all the churros within a 10,000 mile radius and then blame it on the Iranians.

Ah! So you are on board.. you’d just want to convince me to to annex more land.

Got it… All the churros in a 10k mile radius has to be hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars worth of churros… I guess I’m annexing several islands now. ‾\_(ツ)_/‾

          • See, I know how to play this game.

            • I’m just curious, I know it’s a ridiculous plan.. but you are far more familiar with the region, the laws, etc than I am.

I’m President Mathius and I gave that order. I turned to you and said: “General D13, hold that land no matter what, and for every dollar they cost you, every penny you spend, take an exactly commensurate amount more land. You can pick any land you want in their territory, but understand that we have to be able to hold it indefinitely.” You salute and start heading out the door, muttering to yourself, and I stop you. “Oh, and general..” “Yes, Mr. President?” “On your way out, tell someone to bring me a churro.”

Assuming I sorted out the legalities somehow, how do you, General D13, see it playing out? I’d love to see the story you paint for this one.

              • So, the General, snaps a proper salute and retreats out the door, shades of Valkerie in his head, and turns to G man…” The boss wants a Churro…chop chop”…”and for heaven sake, don’t forget his Red Bull this time.” G man looks spiffy in his butler suit, nods and proceeds with the daunting task

As the General, in his brightly spit shined boots, lightly and fleet of foot skips down the long corridor going over the conversation from the President, smiles broadly as he noted that the President did not give him any rules of engagement other than simply hold the land at all costs. His mind whirring as he goes about formulating his plan….a slow, grinch like smile appears and he takes pen in hand…..(to be continued)

              • smiles broadly as he noted that the President did not give him any rules of engagement other than simply hold the land at all costs.

                Fine!

                Guidance:

                1. Primary goal. That land is now American territory. And, by god, it stays American territory.

                2. All costs of defending American territory are passed along to the enemy in the form of increased annexation. Dollar for dollar, being irreproachably fair. Keep a spreadsheet. If you fire a bullet, we now own another square inch or so.

2.A. Full discretion regarding which land and where to annex is given to General D13 with the reminder that it must be permanently held (so you probably don’t want to have to hold a spot in the middle of Tehran forever or get too spread out, but I leave it to you).

2.A.i. I know that, as soon as I typed that, your brain went to Mecca and Medina. I will repeat myself: you have full discretion. (But do we reaaally want to be in the business of permanently holding Mecca?)

2.A.ii. I know that your mind also went to the oil fields. I repeat myself: full. discretion.

2.B. I’m sure the military has some calculation for the “dollar value of a dead soldier.” I don’t mean to be inconsiderate here, but those costs are also to be passed along, dollar for dollar, including funeral costs, and the costs of any life insurance payouts to the family, etc. No other reprisals or escalations – cold hard dollar-for-dollar. When things settle down, that land is passed to his next of kin.

                3. To the maximal extent possible, within the bounds of 1 and 2, on a best efforts basis, the goal should not be to escalate the situation, but to remind the opposition force that they are only hurting themselves further. (Feel free to ask “why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?” over and over again).

3.A. US territory should not be occupied by foreign citizens. I trust you understand this. As such, any resident civilian populations should be relocated back into what’s left of Iran on a best efforts basis. Anyone who gets.. aggressive.. well, that would make them a hostile foreign invader, wouldn’t it?

3.B. I remind you that your goal is to defend American territory, not invade foreign territory. Please keep that in mind. But, again, I leave it to you.

                4. “Do your best to try to avoid committing more war crimes than you believe are absolutely necessarily.”

4.A. Failing that, a lack of witnesses may suffice. Use your best judgement.

                5. Rules of engagement… hmmm… ok… this is US territory, General. While you’re doing your best out there, please do keep in mind how we feel about a foreign military that sets foot on US territory. Feel free to be…. enthusiastic.

5.A. Regarding any rules that may pertain to sniper rifles and foreign heads of state: it is better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

                6. In the event any 3rd party state actors get involved, you are to annex that territory as well. If the actors are non-state, you may seize state which supports them at your sole discretion. If no territory can be located, you may freeze assets. Baring that, just make sure that the appropriate people are taken care of.. again, at General D13’s discretion.

          • So you annex the islands, we drop out of the UN and NATO…..change the name to Mathiusville…..apply for foreign aid and military protection from the US…..open beach front casinos, restaurants, and condos……..

In the meantime, once we are established, I destroy another billion dollars of Churros and this time all the Red Bull within 5 thousand miles and blame the violation on Iran again (they are used to it)….perpetual motion, doncha know.

      • Yes sir, and I will tell you another way that you can do something similar…..transfer your wealth to a trust that is owned by your son. Close your bank accounts and credit cards……take no salary. Do this for three months. Then fill out the SNAP requirements. Your son can give you cash from the trust that he now owns….it is not considered income. You will immediately qualify for Federal and State SNAP program food stamps……and still live in a mansion. Perfectly legal as well…..

I just noticed this Colonel comment from the previous topic.

“Unbelievable…….wealthy parents transferring guardianship of their children so the children can qualify for government education assistance….not illegal…..but is it ethical?”

Interesting question, When the system games the players is it ethical or moral for the players to do the same to the system? That, is the question.

    • I knew a kid with wealthy parents who weren’t willing to pay a dime for his education.

I don’t know, exactly, what their family dynamic was, but they certainly had the money to pay full-freight and, instead, paid nothing. Not a dime.

He couldn’t get apply for a grant because they consider the parents’ wealth.

So he took out huge loans which he’s still paying off today.

      Why? Who knows.

      But that’s his story.

All that’s to say this: it helps to know the full circumstances before judging.

I was really shocked by this : Women’s Health magazine has done important reporting on this. In an article titled, “Death by Pregnancy: Why are so Many Moms to be Dying?” they lay out some incredibly disturbing evidence. The main cause for the high death rate wasn’t a health issue like hypertension (as dangerous as issues like that are, especially for poor women). The main cause of death for pregnant women was found to be murder.

The correlation between this and pregnancy is clear and shocking . The possible correlation between this and abortion, isn’t. I don’t doubt it has an effect but how much is debatable.

Per FBI stats 50% of the murders committed in the US are committed by someone the victim knew.

This certainly points how ridiculous and controlling the outrage mob has become.

The D.C. Superior Court ruling, which came down Tuesday, orders Catholic University of America student Isabel O’Shaughnessy to serve five days in jail and six months of unsupervised probation.

  47. As the media goes crazy to sell the story that the El Paso, Texas, shooter was a racist, hater of Mexicans, the same media is utterly ignoring the hardcore left-wing ideology of the shooter in Dayton, Ohio, because his leftism does not help them sell their agenda. Worse, Twitter has now suspended the Dayton killer’s account so that no one can see his liberal tweets.
The man who shot and killed 20 people in El Paso, Texas, reportedly left a rambling manifesto about how Mexicans are invading the U.S.A. This man is being called a “white nationalist” by the media and is being used by Democrats and other leftists to push gun bans. Liberals love this shooter because he helps them push their agenda.
But the shooter in Dayton, Ohio, is another animal altogether. From what he has left behind, it is clear he is an extremist liberal.

This is not a surprise. All the fake outrage and stupid finger pointing just shows how lame these Leftist’s really are, including the jackoffs running for President. I’m leaning more and more towards today’s modern day Leftist’s are indeed mentally ill.
