Portland’s Problem

th3AVPPJMWProud Boys (Right wing) vs. Antifa (Left wing) is not an unusual event in Portland and today they may meet again.  Why don’t they just find a big field somewhere and have a pay per view, last man standing wins.

When a key brick pulls out, GB, humpty dumpty will start collapsing. The EU is seriously changing bond rules affecting Switzerland big time. Naming thousands if sticks that can only be traded in certain places regardless of the price elsewhere…..and also naming a new head of the ECB that was convicted of pretty serious banking issues by knowingly neglecting them when it was her job to not allow the frauds to occur. yet do to other “good” deeds beat prison time. Tied to Macron with big ribbons.

The former eastern bloc successfully thwarted the EU’s heavy handed rule. They were not going to trade the USSR for the EU, especially when Junkers put on his wish list an EU army to put resistant sovereign nations in their place.

With all due respect, predicting calamity in the world, especially Europe, is a bit like predicting the sun will rise in the East and set in the West. Or that the Mariners will once again finish the season more than 15 games back.

The ass hats running the world are among the most arrogant and stupid at the same time.

Hope all is well in Texas these days.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Germany will probably end up in recession in the third quarter. The alarm was raised by the Bundesbank: the German central bank, in its monthly update, warned that the largest European economy is likely to record a negative GDP, dragged down by a sharp drop in exports and a decline in the industrial production.
In the second quarter, a slowdown in foreign trade and a decline in industrial production were partially offset by the growth in household and government spending. But the Bundesbank has pointed out that it is not sure about the duration of these last dynamics.

“Future developments will depend on the duration of the current economic dichotomy and the direction it will take once it dissolves,” the central bank said. “In the current state of affairs, it is unclear whether exports and, by extension the industry, will regain their bases before the domestic economy suffers a more serious impact.” (Askanews)

There is actually just such a place just east of Portland. A very large open areas which is a park. But not a mowed green grass park. A wild field type of park. Right next to the interstate no less. Interstate on one side and the Columbia River on the other.

PERFECT for your suggested Rumble of the Roses.

I hope this comes through. Its drone footage showing an NGO ship off of Italy towing an empty rubber raft.. the ship stops. The crew pulls the raft up to the ship. Disembarks people from Africa into the raft. Fills it completely in a totally unsafe condition. No food or water or any facilities. Then casts the raft loose and soeeds off. Leaving the raft filled with people who now are abandoned in a dangerous position. Then everybody screams hiw heartless the government if Italy is and are forced to then “Rescue” these people.

In previous drone footage the NGI’s are actually entering Libya and other north African States and picking the people up NOT rescuing them

The latest case where a court ordered the government to allow minors and sick to be taken off, prived they were lying, but the NGO was from Spain. Instead of forcing an international standoff of 15 days they easily could have in 2 days gone to Spain or to France but that’s not possible. Those countries also closed their borders and arrest anybody they catch and deport to the country they’re from. That is precisely why countries like Germany and France insists these ships go to Italy. They then can deport them to Italy rather than to Nigeria etal.

Even the Pope was filmed out in a shio welcoming one of these abandoned rafts

We had rats when I lived in SoCal. They were citrus rats. Lived in the orange trees and ate the pips. Just like squirrels. They never were around people UNTIL developers started clear cutting the orchards to pack more houses in. Each lot in our area usually had 20-25 orange or grapefruit trees or other fruit bearing trees. Or walnuts etc.

When I lived there I-5 didn’t exist. I-101 was just built and was 3 lanes either side. Today, 6 lanes each way. In some areas even more.

    • There is only one reason to turn off radiation monitor systems…….nukes.

      • The Russians have turned off 6 stations so far…all in a line where the wind blows. The 6 stations turned off are the ones that are supposed to be monitored by the UN or some such….the Russian stations are still turned on….and we are intercepting them…..radiation has been reported to 30 miles now.

  14. When will the liberal media remind the country of this

    https://brianleesblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/outrage-obama-denies-visa-to-israel.html

Michael Ben-Ari is an elected Member of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. But the Obama administration is denying him a visa to the United States. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and their minions are calling this man a “terrorist,” even though he’s never been a member of a terrorist group and never participated in a terrorist attack. Instead, he’s a respected elected official in Israel, who commands the respect of members of all parties along the ideological divide. And, yet, this is the second time (2009 was the first) that Dr. Ben-Ari has been denied entry here.

  15. I built a tall wooden “swing set” looking structure to hold up deer feeder this year after a bear knocked down the last setup in Spring. Been having wonderful numbers of does and fawns come in and eat. The structure is 8 feet tall and the feeder is over 6 feet high. A few minutes ago, it was pulled down by a huge bear, 3 to 4 hundred pounds. He didn’t even run, just walked off as we turned the flood lights on. Beautiful looking animal. I’ll pick things in the morning. Great night!!!!!

  18. SANDUSKY, CO—Steve and Leslie Hendrickson were having movie night last week but the experience was diminished by Leslie’s constant question-asking, reports Steve.

“I don’t think she realizes that every question she asks is literally going to be answered by the movie if she just watches it,” Steve recalled. “Like, that’s what stories do. They present questions, then the story answers those questions as the plot progresses. I thought people knew this.”
During the 115 minute movie, Leslie asked a total of over 437 questions, Steve claims. That’s nearly four questions a minute.
    Questions included:
“Oh my gosh, what is that dart stuck in that tree, is that poisonous? I wonder who left it there?”
“Can he trust these guys he’s going into the temple with? They seem like they are up to no good.”
“Oh no, how is Harrison Ford going to get out of the cave now?”
“What happens if he takes that treasure, something bad? How is he going to get it off of there?”
“Is that big rock going to smoosh him?”
Experts say that the issue of wives not understanding that movies answer most questions by the end of the movie has been a problem for men since movies were invented. “What we need is better education,” said Harold Oliver of Trenton University. “Women need to learn from a young age how stories work. And how talking during movies is annoying.”
Steve says that, despite the constant questions during movies, he loves his wife and has found a solution that works for both of them. “I’ve just decided to only watch stupid movies I don’t care about with her,” Steve said. “Things are going great.”
At publishing time, sources had confirmed that Leslie was forced to shush Steve several times during their marathon viewing of Gilmore Girls.

      V.H.

I think much of the rhetoric that is claimed to be anti-Zionist but not anti-Jewish is aimed at Israel’s expansion since the original charter. That is the rhetoric from the non Arab world. Zionism comes to play because that belief group has supported the expansion and some have called for even more expansion. In short, ignorance is behind much of the “I am against the Zionists but not the Jews.”

Within the Arab world I do believe it is just the strategy to shrink it first and destroy is second.

    3. Crazy man kills because Trump is whispering in his head to kill brown people. Instructions for building tin foil hats at 5:00.
    4. Kamala Harris pumped up by CNN, MSNBC, etc for the last month as a CONTENDER gets new poll showing she is now in the lowest group.
    5. FACEBOOK publishes audit of its conservative bias, admits no wrong, but is making adjustments to deal with issues that arose during the audit! Put this in the WTF category.
    6. Europe headed into recession and the US soon to follow. Crap, we have lost our global leadership role in everything.
    7. Glaciers melting at record pace in Greenland, Salmon dying from warm water in Alaska. Heat waves in the US are deadly in middle of the Coldest Summer on record.

The USA was at 12 Trillion in 2003. So in reality, China is not all that far behind and when the USA was at 12 Trillion we were the worlds most powerful Super Power. Enough so that we decided to engage in two wars while trying to hold onto our global gains.

  22. PORTLAND, OR—In a press release earlier this week, Portland police chief Danielle Outlaw (her actual name), appearing somber and exhausted, said she just wishes there were some kind of group with the firepower and authority to fight back against Antifa.

In a candid moment, Outlaw (seriously, her actual name) said there was just nothing the police could do, as they’d need to have some kind of organized, armed force specifically created to protect and serve the people.
“Like, what if we took money from everyone to fund a force that could then defend them in a time of need?” she pondered aloud. “They could have patrol cars, firearms, and attack dogs. Maybe even some tanks. That would be so frickin’ rad. They could have a badge to show their authority. Then, when a rogue group like Antifa shows up to take over our city every weekend, they could be repelled using force if necessary.”
“I know it sounds crazy, but a girl can dream, right?” she added wistfully.
Sadly, there is no such force in Portland, so citizens have been forced to turn to an even crazier idea: taking responsibility for their own safety and well-being, and maybe even buying a gun to protect themselves.

“Yet here’s the question: why? Why must this be the case? Why should we just assume that it must be so? Who says, and what is the endgame?”

“We are not to ask questions. We are only to accept…or else. This should give us pause as to what is really happening here. ”

Obviously, my question is, What is Really going on here? I don’t believe it’s really about morality, at least not by the power structures pushing it.

Denmark sold us the Virgin Islands! tell the doubters to stick that …….

    • Trump xing the trip to visit them was the perfect answer to the rudeness they displayed. Arrogant Europeans are a joke. We dont need anything from those blowholes. But one day, they mat need us and thats when Greenland becomes US property.

      • Any real estate agent will tell you it costs nothing to ask the question. What I do not know is if the question was ever asked of Denmark. If it was, was it done politely? If so then the response was out of line. If not asked, the response should simply have been we were not asked and if we are the answer is no. No need not to be diplomatic. And Trump gets all kinds of grief for being rude.

        • I don’t know if the question was asked or not. I don’t know if they were even ready to ask the question. What I do know is someone decided to leak that Trump was asking about it and these are the consequences.

  26. Dale A Albrecht says:

  27. Like usual, it boils down to Congress not doing their job, in this case for decades.

“The law actually requires that these people be detained under most circumstances and does not place a time constraint on the detention, nor does it make exceptions for children. The constraint on holding children in certain facilities emanated from a court settlement that began in the 1980s and crystalized in 1997 as a temporary arrangement until 45 days after government promulgates a permanent regulation defining the parameters of the holding facilities for children along safe and sanitary guidelines laid out in the settlement.

Until now, courts have lawlessly “legislated” a 20-day deadline for holding children without such certified facilities or else they have to be released. Moreover, Judge Dana Sabraw created a new edict last year contrary to law that children can’t be released alone once they come with an adult and that the adult must be released with them. Thus, the expansion of Flores and Sabraw’s ruling spawned the worst period of migration in our history, where primarily one adult would come with one child, the perfect scam. ”

Talk about changing times . I am reading a 1904 book for young adults, males in particular, about the adventures of a young West Point Graduate in the Philipines during the insurrection. In the very first chapter the fictional troops of the 16th cavalry are searching for two canons used against them by insurrectos. The young Lt. gives his senior sergeant the green light to find a native or two and “inquire” about them. The Sgt. returns, native in tow. sopping wet with the information. Wouldyabelieve waterboarding? Tsk, tsk, tsk. by way of an excuse, they talk about the tortured US troopers who have been found after they were mutilated by insurrectos.

That the true liberals in spirit are the small government, individual responsibility conservatives who believe the Constitution is a contract not to be broken. • I had a dream that Mathius finally had an epiphany and is moving to the right.

I had a dream that my wife had secretly been dating a coworker named “Flynn” for three years and now wanted to marry him. Not divorce me, mind you, just marry him, too, and she wanted me to be ok with that.

          Both dreams seem equally likely.

  31. The European Union is proposing “detailed” labels on food products imported from Israel to inform customers where precisely in Israel the item is from. So, for example, an item would be labeled from “Israeli settlements” instead of “Made in Israel.”
The EU press release insists that Israel only exists in the pre-1967 borders and denies the country’s existing borders. It also blatantly calls Israel an “occupying force” and the Advocate General compares Israel to apartheid South Africa. (That is totally unbiased, right?) He says that the labels are necessary as “neutral and objective information” because consumers are “reasonably well informed, and reasonably observant and circumspect” and, when purchasing food, will make choices that reflect their “health, economic, environmental, social and ethical considerations.”

    • Little almost all desert Israel has enough excess food to export? Tis a miracle.

      • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Scientific farming!!! I rememer hearing stories back in the early 1960’s in my high school years that while we were trying to win hearts and minds in SouthEast Asia, we introduced new strains of fast growing rice that could increase plantings and crop yield. The peasants, ripped out the seedlings since they were not what their fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers planted! Ditto here, if the Israeli’s left, within ten years the place would be back to where it was in 1800, just like Rhodesia.

        • Ahhh…you reminded me of a story……I was assigned in the Cenral Highlands of Vietnam….we operated out of a town called Ban Me Thout. Our area of operation (AO) was on a line from Ban Me Thout straight west to the Cambodian border and straight east to Nha Trang. Then draw a line fron Pleiku straight west to the Cambodian border and straight east to the Ocean….connect the box and that area was where I was……

Now, on to the story…..in this area, the Montgnard tribe inhabited everything outside the cities. Our job, during the win their minds and hearts theory, we would go into the villages to recruit Montgnards ( very fierce fighters and very loyal ) but in doing so, we wanted to bring some modernization to villages…of course, they had no plumbing, running water, elecricity and such…..BUT, they did work their fields. They used the same tools that they have been using for centuries. Wooden staffs made from teak, stone heads for hoes, bamboo stalks for rakes…….you get the picture.

So, our magnificent gestures, we brought them modern tools. Hammers, pliers (they have never seen those before), wrenches they have never seen, scissors, etc. Shovels and picks and all sorts of tools to make their work easier……..We taught them how to use them. However, when we would return to their villages several weeks later….all the modern tools were stacked neatly into corners not being used and the same tools for centuries were being used. Go figure…..but IT WAS THEIR WAY.

now, to go further….we gave them weapons and organized them into fighting units and there were good when in platoon or larger size…..fierce fighters and great shots……but when on patrol or recon, they still preferred their cross bows……and they were good with those….and VERY VERY quiet. It was their way.

The sad ending to the story……they were loyal to us…..very loyal as they hated the North Vietnamese, the South Vietnames, the French, and the Chinese. They would literally give up life for an American…..throw themselves in front of the fire, etc. At the end of our version of the war……we left them. Just simply walked off and left them. If anyone deserved to be transplanted, it was the Montgnards. We left 1.5 million of them…..5 years later, the only remnants left were approximately 350 thousand….that made it to Ubon, Thailand. To this very day, they are still in intenment camps and refugee camps and not allowed into Thailand, nor Cambodia, nor Laos…..they were exterminated. And we do not care.

Sad ending to an other wise cool story about not using the implements we brought them.

  32. Just when you thought it safe to go in the water…………………but not San Francisco.

Crime-ridden San Francisco has introduced new sanitized language for criminals, getting rid of words such as “offender” and “addict” while changing “convicted felon” to “justice-involved person.”

The Board of Supervisors adopted the changes last month even as the city reels from one of the highest crime rates in the country and staggering inequality exemplified by pervasive homelessness alongside Silicon Valley wealth.

The local officials say the new language will help change people’s views about those who commit crimes.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, from now on a convicted felon or an offender released from custody will be known as a “formerly incarcerated person,” or a “justice-involved” person or just a “returning resident.”

A juvenile “delinquent” will now be called a “young person with justice system involvement,” or a “young person impacted by the juvenile justice system.”

And drug addicts or substance abusers, meanwhile, will become “a person with a history of substance use.”

“We don’t want people to be forever labeled for the worst things that they have done,” Supervisor Matt Haney told the newspaper. “We want them ultimately to become contributing citizens, and referring to them as felons is like a scarlet letter that they can never get away from.”

  35. SAN FRANCISCO, CA—In a move to make sure criminals are treated fairly, San Francisco has instituted a policy of referring to “convicted felons” by the much more politically correct term “elected officials.”

“These convicted felons are finding it harder to advance to higher political office when we keep bringing up their criminal activities,” said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. “We must ensure they get a fair shake at ruining even more people’s lives when they run for Congress, Senate, or the White House.”
The city released a guide with ways to refer to politicians’ activities in a more positive manner:
Stealing money is to be referred to as “taxation.”
Having an affair is to be referred to as “providing women opportunities for advancement.”
Taking a bribe is to be referred to as a “desirable exchange of money for principles.”
Starting a deadly war on false pretenses is to be referred to as an “environmental depopulation initiative.”
Kidnapping parents over truancy laws is to be called a “free parental vacation program.”
The new language is to be used by all city officials, San Francisco residents, and the homeless population to ensure politicians aren’t offended by any mention of their criminal activities. Anyone failing to abide by the law will be sentenced to continue living in San Francisco.

Not that they dont happen etc, but with roughly 1/2 if the nation hate trump regardless of anything, and today a major bank CEO said the nation is not prepared for a recession. People will start not spending and hoarding as much as Americans might call hoarding above zero savings which is hard to imagine, 😁 Not spending the income by having a job will to me inevitably cause a pull back of the economy.

Pointing at something that is always at some time is inevitable and the politicians wish it sooner than later to damage trump after all other things have failed. Our politicians for the most part are a disgrace.

  38. U.S.—A new study surveyed everyone on planet earth and found that of all the 7.7 billion people on the planet, you are definitely the most oppressed one.

The study confirmed that no one else has it worse than you, that everyone else has tons of privilege and you do not, and that the injustices you face are far worse than those faced by all the other people on earth.
“I mean, let’s just look at the facts here,” said Dr. Bill Lendenhaven, head researcher for this scientific study. “Some people have more money than you. Some people have a better smartphone than you. Some people even have a bigger house than you. You really are the unluckiest person ever to walk the face of the earth.”
Lendenhaven pointed out that sometimes, other people get lucky breaks, like having rich parents or making a well-connected friend. “That’s just not fair,” he said, shaking his fist at the sky. “I mean, you obviously deserve so much better than you got. It’s not as though every day is a gift and every breath new mercy from God or anything like that.”
“You deserve to have all the things you’re mad at other people for having,” he added, patting you on the back and handing you a tissue.
The study concluded that you should demand the government make you less oppressed by oppressing those more privileged than you (which, if you’ve been tracking, is everyone).

  40. Mr. Trump…………….please shut up.

    • His actual request didn’t bother me, the use of the word ordered did.

Not sure why you think he is correct!

The FED should be RAISING interest rates to spur more investment and expansion of the middle class.

Rates are so low they are pretty much irrelevant. Seems to me Mr. Trump is just looking to blame someone else. That and he is VALIDATING the Keynesian, aka Progressive, Model.

It becomes apparent at the end when he claims Erickson should identify as American instead of white American. Erickson is one of those who has said “we are Americans” and should not be identified by color or any other factor. It is in fact the racists who have pushed the “white” identity upon those of us who are white. Trying to cloak us all in GUILT.

Personally, I think Erickson’s warning is spot on. If the racialists keep this up they will in fact create a white American ethnic group. And it will then have to choose whether to wallow in its guilt or fight back. Being as they are Americans, I see a greater chance of fighting rather than wallowing. At least among those of us who are longer of tooth.

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

It is unfortunate that we will NEVER know what progress blacks in America would have made over the past fifty years IF the federal government’s “War on Poverty” had not destroyed the black family.

Honest scholarship has demonstrated the causes of the destruction of “family” and the absence of male role models from the inner city black community. Hucksters DO NOT want anyone following the statistics before LBJ’s dual wars. However they are there for anyone to see.

The problem with the article is that it lacks historical balance. It does not see that fork in the road that appeared between 1964 and 1970.

Revisionists, left and right, black and white are now rewriting history of 20 years ago. There was no mass incarceration of blacks because they were black. There was mass incarceration of criminals who happened to be black. If 90% of crime was committed by 10% of criminals the locking up of those criminals was a good idea, regardless of race. If crime was out of control in certain communitis and not in others than enforcing the law in those affected communities was not a bad idea at all. Would I put 100 extra cops in a neighborhood where there was one murder in 20 years or one where there were 20 murders in one year? If blacks representing 12% of the population commit 41 percent of murders then it stands to reason that they will be over represented percentage wise in prisons.

Regarding the wonderfully obfuscated difference between law enforcements crack down (no pun) on sellers of “crack” cocaine in the 80’s vs. powder cocaine, I challange them to argue that the communities where crack was the predominent style of the drug were NOT where the bulk of violent, like murder, drug related crime was occurring. There were no turf wars going on among the sellers of powder on Wall Street but there certainly were in Harlem or Washington Heights, Manhattan. As a matter of fact I still own and use a 35 inch Television set, I got, still in the box, from the apartment of a former tenant of mine who was one of those dealers who impinged on someone else’s turf. He had no further use for it after meeting Mr. 9 Millimeter one night! Double tap by the way!

Ping has apparently decided he will wait out the Trump adminsitration since his bought and paid for stooge Biden will be elected. Trump knows this and must wreck their economy first!

    • I’m thought it was odd too. It may be a warning that things will get much worse with China. It may be telling them that if China don’t stop their BS, then products from China may be stopped completely. It may hurt for a short time, but companies will pop up here making a better product to take the place of Chinese junk. We will survive and thrive, China might have another Revolution. The question might be…will China react militarily?

  44. WASHINGTON, D.C.—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came out hard against the Electoral College, slamming the institution as a racist scam that makes white people’s votes count for “like, a lot more” than other people’s votes.

But she then thought of a good solution: “What if we count all white people as three-fifths of a person instead of a full person? Then, good votes would count more than bad, racist votes. Like, four or five times more or something, because 3/5ths is only like 10% of a real vote.”
She then paused as she counted on her fingers and double-checked her math on her toes. “Yeah, it adds up. Case closed. This makes the program contain 247% fewer racisms.”
It was pointed out to her that this was racist, but she said that when you fight racism with other racism, it makes less racism. “1 bad racism plus 1 good racism equals zero racisms,” she said confidently.
At publishing time, Ocasio-Cortez had slammed the Electoral College as sexist after learning it doesn’t even have a gender studies program.

  45. SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT—Ben & Jerry’s has long been known for the ice cream company’s political activism, introducing flavors that support many progressive causes.

The company has done it again with its exciting new Antifa-inspired flavors, the sale of which benefits the anti-fascist organization that bravely stops fascism by force and silencing those they disagree with.
The new flavors include Vegan Coconut Milkshake with Real Concrete Mix, Blood of the People You Disagree With, and Antifa Protester B.O. All the flavors are made with real ingredients, whether that’s blood harvested from people that Antifa threw a brick at or actual sweat from Antifa rioters.
“Delicious!” said one Antifa taste-tester in Portland before throwing his half-finished Vegan Coconut Concrete ice cream at a conservative reporter standing nearby. “It’s great to know I’m supporting a wonderful cause like fighting Nazis with my ice cream purchases. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to find undesirables and utilize violence against them.”
At your local Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop, you can even get your Antifa ice cream customized with great new toppings like Molotov cocktail drizzle, real bread crumbs from a Soviet breadline, and bits of dog meat from Venezuela.

  46. It’s time to talk about a troubling trend in how we handle our national discourse: the current political landscape is full of lies, half-truths, and fake news, but the average person only ever consumes half of that. Thanks to people being ever more partisan in their news consumption, most people are only exposed to one distorted version of reality, completely missing out on an equally ludicrous alternative version of events.

This is a crisis. Voters are going to the polls having been manipulated by only one side, scared into voting by one set of myopic irrational fears and not hearing the alternative nonsense that could have resulted in an equally uninformed vote in another direction. Everyone is increasingly comfortable with “their” hyperbolic trolls, seeing only one side as basically Hitler instead of recognizing the Hitler in everyone.
This has to end. People need to broaden the propaganda they listen to and be exposed to all the incorrect ways of looking at an issue. Listening to only one set of lies is part of what leads to all the destructive anger in our politics, but if people only opened up and really listened to all falsehoods, they could replace that anger with much healthier confusion.
And maybe, just maybe, people might stumble onto something real. Two half-truths added together equals a whole truth. That’s just math.

  47. “Rsults of the study showed more than half of gender-disturbed students were found to screen positively for depression (58%) and reported self-injurious behavior (53%), while 28% of students comfortable with their biological sex screened positive for depression and 20% reported self-injurious behavior .”

Hmmmm, isn’t 28% and 20% a pretty high percentage for people comfortable in their skin.

Now I saw the same report and am fascinated that they probably have it backwards. The folks with gender disporia have gender disporia because, frankly, most are nuts! The “slant” on the news was the opposite, gender disporia causes depression. A not so subtle difference! It was known in the OLD psychiatric community as “putting the cart before the horse”.

“Gender identity: A person’s innermost concept of self as man, woman, a blend of both, or neither – how individuals perceive themselves and what they call themselves. Gender identity can be the same or different from one’s sex assigned at birth.”

I look at the very large number of identities used to identify as transgender and notice that most seem to be based on I’m both feminine and masculine or neither. While I have no trouble seeing a genuineness to, I am a female in a male body and visa versa. The rest based on the second part of the definition seems like this generations form of rebellion. A way to support true transgenders, to fit in with a group and the more active politically active groups way to say “screw the man”, I will not conform.

  50. Just A Citizen says:

As I laid awake early this AM I had a thought. It was on these Globalist actions and how they might fit together. Particularly the latest gimmick proposed. A guaranteed wage. Then it struck me.

If you were among the elite and you were looking into a future with greater mechanization (robots, etc) leading to even greater productivity and thus profitability gains, how would you view that future. Would you think like some of us naive ones, that everyone will gain. Or would you be more like the proverbial leftists, seeing the rich get richer and the poor getting poorer. I drifted back to Mathius’ dissertation on how the elite will soon be hunted down by the masses due to the growing income inequality.

There it was, the answer. If the total global population continues growing but half of the population is destitute, the elites will still be getting richer by the day. They don’t need more than half of us. Not if half of us is growing in terms of real numbers. Think about half the US population in 1900 vs. today. Now think of the economic activity of then vs. now.

So if somewhere around half or a little less of us can support the whole wealth producing machine, what do you do with the rest? If the wealth created is large enough, you simply pay the poor half to twiddle their thumbs, hopefully so they don’t buy pitchforks.

In this scenario the world it not divided primarily among the haves and have-nots, that is the 95% and the 5%.. It is divided among the have-nots and those who have enough to support the growth of the elite’s wealth. In other words, the 50% vs. the other 45%, with the 5 % at the top.

Another way to look at this is that the “middle class” doesn’t have to continue being the middle 50% like we all grew up believing.

Now the one thing that does not fit in this is this suicidal desire to allow millions of low skilled people into the country. Unless…………… you are trying to create a new lower class that the 45% can afford to hire to make them feel more “elite like”.

So that was the big thing churning around in my brain last night. All these supposedly socialist or “liberal” goals of higher minimum wage or guaranteed incomes has a much more sinister purpose than just helping out the poor.

  51. I will try to check in from time to time…..going on a walk about…….back in 10 days.

  52. Dale A Albrecht says:

    Not my essay.

I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”

Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP. The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter. We are told that income inequality is an existential crisis (even though this is not an indicator of prosperity, some of the poorest countries in the world have low-income inequality), we are told that we are oppressed by capitalism (even though it’s brought about more freedom and wealth to the most people than any other system in world history), we are told that the only way we will acquire the benefits of true prosperity is through socialism and centralization of federal power (even though history has proven time and again this only brings tyranny and suffering).

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this, my generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.

With the current political climate giving rise to the misguided idea of a socialist utopia, will we see the light? Or will we have to lose it all to realize that what we have now is true prosperity? Destroying the free market will undo what millions of people have died to achieve.

My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesn’t seem too hard, does it?

“Trump is as destructive of person in this century as Hitler, Stalin, and Mao were in the last century,” Francis said on – ironically – “Reliable Sources” Sunday. “He may be responsible for many more millions of deaths than they were.”

    • Mathius needs a biiit more context here.

My gut says he’s talking about Climate Change. If – IF – you accept that it’s real, and you accept that Trump is doing jack squat about it, then the conclusion that Trump could be responsible for millions of deaths is a perfectly logical extension.

If he’s saying that Trump has personally murdered millions, well… I’m prepared to hear you out…

      • Just A Citizen says:

Ah, but even in that context, you cannot blame the last drop of weak poison killed the person and not the hundreds of drops taken before that last one.

There is virtually nothing Mr. Trump could do about CO2 production in the USA or anywhere else, even if he believed it was a problem. Not given the other geo political goals of the major players and the ineffectual nature of Congress.

What this really means is that because he voices skepticism, he is causing people to be stressed. Because they think the world is ending and that Big Govt can somehow save us. So if he doesn’t play he must be evil.

On this topic, did you see where Dr. Mann lost his liable lawsuit in Canada. Not only lost but he judge awarded the target millions in court costs. The lawsuit failed because Mann would not allow the court or jury to see the data behind his hockey stick.

“ordered”? Just who in the fuck does Trump think he is that he gets to issue this kind of “order” to private American companies?

Whether you agree with the sentiment / goal is wholly irrelevant. If Obama had issued an “order” like this, the right would be beyond apoplectic about the intrusion by Big Government into the private sector.

“I hereby order” Trump to remember that America isn’t a dictatorship.

    • I think there is a law that would allow him to do such a thing, but I highly doubt that this was anything more than a warning to China. He already has them in bad straights and he’s putting his foot on their neck. It looks like it’s working too. But, like you, I didn’t like the language used, but it may be the only language the Chinese will understand. As to your primary point, YES we would all be screaming if Mr. Obama did this. While I generally hate these “what if relativistic comparisons” I do agree with you on this one. Hell, we were all screaming about the TPP when that was in fact Mr. Obama’s attempt to put China in a box, trade wise. The problem was he allowed his Corporate friends to fill the TPP with stuff giving them far to much authority over the sovereignty of the USA.

We are NOT living in a Dictatorship. But I have been telling you and others for years now that the authorities granted to the Executive Branch, including POTUS, far exceed anything ever envisioned by the Framers of the Constitution.

One of the editorials on this, written by a left leaning type, was that the outcome of Mr. Trump’s presidency will not be some actual Dictatorship or Monarchy but the realization by Congress that it has created the cover for such a thing to actually be possible.

The irony of this is that it applies to We the People as well. We have allowed a Federal Govt. to take our sovereignty, impair our Liberty, and assume authorities over us all in the belief that Govt. is good and will then do ONLY good things.

The naive delegation of power, from the people to Congress and from Congress to POTUS and/or SCOTUS, may be bearing poisonous fruit. Will this fruit kill our civilization or cause us to fix the problems so that we may proceed “forward”?

We are NOT living in a Dictatorship.

If the Executive has this power then we are.

            Period.

That they might not be using such powers to their fullest, most oppressive extremes does not change the fact that, again, if they have this power, then they can control literally ever aspect of the US economy and, by extension, pretty much everything else. That’s, at best, a benevolent dictatorship.

But I have been telling you and others for years now that the authorities granted to the Executive Branch, including POTUS, far exceed anything ever envisioned by the Framers of the Constitution.

            Fully agreed.

            You have been saying this.

And, to my knowledge, no one has been disagreeing with you.

One of the editorials on this, written by a left leaning type, was that the outcome of Mr. Trump’s presidency will not be some actual Dictatorship or Monarchy but the realization by Congress that it has created the cover for such a thing to actually be possible.

Seems like that is the best we can hope for…

The irony of this is that it applies to We the People as well. We have allowed a Federal Govt. to take our sovereignty, impair our Liberty, and assume authorities over us all in the belief that Govt. is good and will then do ONLY good things.

I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone with a functioning brain who thinks that government will only do good things. (insert obvious “left = no functioning brain” joke here).

Will this fruit kill our civilization or cause us to fix the problems so that we may proceed “forward”?

If – IF – we have indeed handed this kind of enormous unaccountable dictatorial power to the Executive branch, we’ll never get it back. The whole slate will have to be wiped clean before we ever see liberty (or anything approaching liberty) again.

If Trump gets away with using this power in this fashion (which I don’t think he will actually try to do, nor succeed if he does).. but IF he does, then the tool is in the open. And the next President will use it similarly. And it will become just another tool of the POTUS, and its use will expand and expand and expand until the President is simply the arbitrary unilateral ruler of the US economy and, by proxy, everyone within that economy.

Mind you, I’m not talking about imposing sanctions on arms dealers and terrorists, etc. But rather, the President reaching into private companies and ordering them to reorganize their supply chains to support his political agenda rather than their profit motives. Just imagine the logical extremes of that. Just imagine what a malicious actor could do with that kind of power.

There is exactly ZERO precedent for clawing back that kind of power from within a system that doesn’t involve revolution. So if – IF – he uses that power and gets away with it, there are only two outcomes: (A) welcome to the new United Dictatorship of America or (B) viva la revolucion!

            • Just A Citizen says:

Why doesn’t Congress do such a thing? There is the question.

I suppose that Kim Jong Un could lose the next North Korean election, too, and they could vote in a democracy.

“P.S.”. Periods go where I say they go. I simply do not FEEL that the grammar rules are correct nor that they should apply to me. I am grammar challenged and suffering punctuation identity dysphoria.

              • I guess that makes you a member of the………………. Alt Write!

(oh, Jesus… what have done… please forgive me, I’m so sorry.. that’s the worst pun I’ve ever made.. and yet.. I can’t force myself to delete it. Oh god.. someone’s going to put that on my tombstone, aren’t they? Generations of English majors are going to make pilgrimages just to spit on my grave… what have I done!)

Now, for the history challenged, I would suggest that Harry Truman did some interesting things. JFK threatened to do the same and there was the little issue of a coal strike in Teddy Roosevelt’s time not to mention some interesting declarations about use of some public lands. .

The Supremes had a whole lot to say about FDR’s actions.

The US Congress, much like the Roman Senate is interested in sniping, not working and therin lies an interesting problem. There were those of us in the mid 1970’s who thought, just for a moment that the congress had grown a pair….that was unfortunately a thought quickly undone when the next president was a d.. Ya see when THEIR guy does it, it is bad. When OUR guy does it it is fine. Imagine a US president telling the US Olympic Committee, “You ain’t going”. Nah, that could never happen!

So last night I’m watching the news.I says to myself, what the hell is Trump doing “ordering” US businesses to leave China? Then I realize he’s talking to Ping, the Chinese leader. That’s what THEY do. He wants to get their attention!

Ping has apparently decided he will wait out the Trump adminsitration since his bought and paid for stooge Biden will be elected. Trump knows this and must wreck their economy first!

Say what you will about the #FailingNYT, but their daily crossword puzzle is the gold standard.

    Imagine my bemusement when I came across #118-across on Sunday: _ R _ _ _.

Five letters, second was R. And the clue: “Famed orange troublemaker.”

    Hmm….

    Famous orange troublemaker… _ R _ _ _… hmm… Whatever could that be..?

Of course, the answer’s obvious, isn’t it? It’s ERNIE from Sesame Street. Why? What did you think?

Just take a look at the comments to this article. So damn sad. It kind of makes me a little angry to see this trash.

    • Reading comments like these give a strong case for the broad brush theory that Mathius is always bloviating about. I wouldnt be too surprised if most of these commenters arent AI bots. If not, then there sure is a whole lot of Leftists asshats out there.

On the economic front: A recession must be coming soon ……………. because………….

The local MacDonalds is now advertising STARTING jobs for $11.00 per hour. That is $1.00 higher than the last boom just before the crash. Take it to the bank. The Fed has nothing on my predictors……… 🙂

    • On the economic front: A recession must be coming soon ……………. because………….

      Oh, it’s coming.. it’s coming..

In fact, the beauty of MY prediction is that there are only two possible outcomes. Either (A) I’m right or (B) I’m not right.. yet.

“Mein Kampf (German: [maɪ̯n kampf], My Struggle or My Fight) is a 1925 autobiographical manifesto by Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler. The work describes the process by which Hitler became antisemitic and outlines his political ideology and future plans for Germany. Volume 1 of Mein Kampf was published in 1925 and Volume 2 in 1926.[1] The book was edited firstly by Emil Maurice, then by Hitler’s deputy Rudolf Hess.[2][3]”

It would seem that Mr. Emil Maurice was the first.

    On “what did I miss”????

Well there was this little thang at the end of last week and over the weekend. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any stranger.

Note: While even Red State refers to accusations against Butina involving “spying” that was not and has not been the charge. It was failure to register as a “foreign agent”. Which means LOBBYIST.

    • Having worked briefly in a “social credit” system of sorts, let me tell you that I’d rather eat a bullet than live in that society.

THAT SAID, as long as no one is forced to engage in the system, there’s nothing I can say is “wrong” per say with it.

On a related note, have you ever watched Black Mirror (Netflix)? There’s an episode… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosedive_(Black_Mirror)… UGH.. I hated this episode so, so, so, so, so, much… not because it was bad, but because it was so plausible…

      • Just A Citizen says:

I have not heard of that show. Will have to check out the Netflix menu this evening.

Did watch “Black Sails” for awhile. Until we pulled the plug on cable.

        • It’s something like a Twilight Zone or an Outer Limits, but on steroids. Were I you, I’d skip the first episode because, well… ew.

          • Just A Citizen says:

            Mathius

Did you ever watch “Electric Dreams?” 🙂

Was either a Netflix or Amazon series. Way out there along the same lines as Twilight Zone and Outer Limits.
