In answer to Matt’s question let us use the word that has zoomed to the top of the mostoftenabused word chart this past year. The finding of discrepancy after discrepancy from town to town,. city to city, state to state but only in “certain types of towns, cities, states, would lead one to believe that we are dealing with SYSTEMIC fraud!

Get it? System wide fraud! Goes along with the wildly accepted Systemic racism!

Thought I’d add to this. BOTH SYSTEMIC issues are happening in the same places, just sayin…..

Now objectively I understand there are some good reasons, but the Manafort one sticks in my craw a bit.

I am also thinking this reveals that he has no intention of running again. He may sit back and throw bombs and maybe his kids keep their hands on the levers, but he is done with elected politics.

    • No…no thoughts on pardons. Every POTUS does it.

    • The Mueller probe was a sham so anyone caught up in a process crime associated with it should go free. Mueller knew up front there was nothing to the investigation so pursuing witnesses to catch them in a faulty memory lie is over the top. Manafort could be a little different because it was mostly tax evasion and FARA violations. Most people do not serve time for this especially solitary confinement. The DOJ had originally decided not to prosecute and would not have except for his connections to the Trump campaign. So setting him free is not a show stopper. Most of the pardons Trump has done are to correct political prosecutions and over sentencing issues.

Did you watch the Senate hearing video that T-Ray posted yesterday?

    • I just watched an interview of Peter Ticktin. He is a military academy classmate and friend of DJT. He says that Trump is never 3 moves ahead but 20. He learned at the academy to stay between the lines, i.e. to stay legal but push the line. This is why all these investigations of him never turn up anything. As a cadet captain, he did not rule by intimidation and force but by convincing his subordinates to do the right thing and by esprit de corps. The real man is nothing like what the MSM paints him to be. He is very tenacious. He strongly believes The Donald will prevail.

      • Just A Citizen says:

        T-Ray

I DO NOT think or believe that Mr. Trump will prevail. That is actually serve a second term.

Mr Ticktin underestimates the power of the Swamp. They will simply role on as if everything is A-OK with Mr. Biden’s election.

I think that much of Mr. Trump’s 74 million supporters will NOT ABIDE Congress overturning the election, as certified, without more definitive proof. of large scale wrong doing. They will simply conclude the risk is greater to the Republic if it is overturned than if it is allowed to stand. PROVIDED there is good evidence that Congress and/or States will be taking action to 1) Investigate seriously and 2) Fix the problems.

        • I have heard it from two sources now that his advisers have given up. His rejection of the stimulus bill was against their advice so he is currently flying solo. Back in early Nov. I gave him a 1% chance of succeeding. That has not changed. I am pessimistic that he will succeed. I only hope he can release enough documents and other information so that the people can see just how corrupt the government is. It would be helpful if Durham would indict a few swampers before Jan. 20. Also we need a special council for the Hunter scandal but that can wait until Joe is officially declared president-elect.

Sadly this will go down in history as the election that killed the republic if the state legislatures in the swing states and Congress do not investigate this corruption and fix the election system. Again I am pessimistic as we have been in a century long slide towards progressivism (Marxism). What we have now is the alignment of big corporations, media, academia, cultural elites (Hollywood) and one major party against the people. They have all the power at this time and will rig the system in their favor so we will have one party rule like in our major cities and CA. Welcome to AmeriKa. Khrushchev is smiling.

Even more sad is the winner write the history so future generations will not know what they lost. So instead of the roaring 20′ we may have the depressed 20s.

On that note have a Merry Christmas. We had a childless Thanksgiving and will have a childless Christmas our first since 1979.

          • Just A Citizen says:

  9. Just A Citizen says:

    Morning thought.

In the beginning We the People could deal with tyrants whenever they popped up. No “politician” could hide from the “folks”. If they went to far the “mob” could march on their homes, drag them into the street and even run them out of town on a “rail”, after the appropriate amount of “tar and feathers” were added.

So why is it that today, despite all the howling about need to radically change things we do not see any of this kind of behavior?

It is due to the special place the Political Elite created for themselves when they created “special legal protections”. Not only is calling them names a potential crime but they are surrounded by thousands of “armed guards and LEO’s” standing at the ready to take you out. Think about this a moment. A comment on the internet that simply appears to “threaten” a member of Congress, Judge or POTUS can get the Sec Service or US Marshalls a tax payer funded trip to your door step.

As the actual risk to life and limb increases for the dissenters the less dissent you are going to get. Just imagine the difference it would make if we at least let the Elite kill each other over their own grievances. Yes, I am talking about legalizing dueling. How much more vile would Schumer or Pelosi spew if they knew someone like Rand Paul, or maybe that Pirate from Texas, could challenge them to a duel with knives or pistols?

Channeling my thoughts for a number of years. If only “words” still had “consequences”.

  10. Just A Citizen says:

    Interesting.

I do not necessarily agree with the following in that one automatically begets the other. The connection seems to me to be more along the lines of a “moral thought exercise” than real life situation. Because not all people, if many, act on a set of moral principles. They are often good at rationalizing the undermining of one while standing fast on others. But in the long run I think the connection suggested does hold at the societal level. As I have said many times, the rot of moral and ethical standards eventually gives moral authority to greater and greater violations. A little like how Courts use lousy decisions to later justify even lousier decisions all under the name of “precedent”. Any way, here is the proposition I am responding to:

Inalienable Rights. The assault on America’s Founding Principles begins by dismantling the inalienable rights upon which our nation is built. An attack on these rights, which are endowed by God rather than the state, is an attack on our entire constitutional system. The first inalienable right, according to the Declaration of Independence, is the right to life — the right to exist. Legalized abortion on demand, which Progressives promote with fanatical zeal, is a complete rejection of this inalienable right. Progressives have further embraced this rejection by elevating abortion access to a fundamental human right and insisting that the government fund abortions. Ironically, this renders government, which is charged with protecting inalienable rights, complicit in violating the inalienable rights of the most powerless members of our society.

Abortion is the first logical step in demolishing the American system of rights in order to construct a Progressive society with new rights, focused almost exclusively on protected classes. A philosophy draconian enough to seize the most fundamental right from the innocent without due process will not hesitate to curtail or confiscate other rights, even if they are guaranteed under the Constitution.

In ‘Covid Overload: U.S. Hospitals Are Running Out of Beds for Patients ‘ New York Times

Is this a valid cry for help or is it one designed to garner attention and sell the wares of the wolf?

      • Most hospitals run 75% to 80% full all the time. They can’t make money if beds are empty. I cannot tell you how many times my wife has been in the ER waiting for a ward bed. This last time she waited in the ER and was finally given a slot in the ICU because the general ward was full. She stayed in the ICU much longer than needed (4 days) until a ward bed opened up and then was discharged 2 days later. This was Folsom Hospital which is bigger than the Placerville Hospital. There were ICU beds available at the time because I walked passed them. I know that Davis Medical Center in Sacramento is setting up a field hospital for the overflow.

A doctor called into Rush this week and stated that 70% of the beds in LA are taken up by Latins, mostly illegals. Covid is rampant in this population because they have to go to work everyday and live in tight quarters.

  11. Merry Christmas, SUFA! (Or whatever you celebrate.) 😀

  12. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Merry Christmas to all! Peace on Earth to men of good will.

  13. Merry Christmas SUFA!

  14. Merry Christmas everyone!! Having a busy Christmas season here, seeing kids mostly one family at a time on different days. Oldest son actually just tested positive for Covid-19 two days ago. So far, he’s just feeling fatigue and a scratchy throat, no fever. Obviously we can’t see them for a couple of weeks.

Here’s hoping for a better year in 2021. But given what I see in my (foggy) crystal ball, I’m not betting the farm on it. I believe conservatives have a big fight on our hands if we wish to somehow keep these United States a free republic. This is what truly saddens me so much..that even otherwise intelligent and good liberals can’t see the evil for which they have just happily voted. The Walkaway movement gives me much hope, seeing so many former Democrats whose eyes have been opened. Took a lot of guts for them, since now they are receiving so much hatred from their former “friends” and families.

  15. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

“That’s America to Me” is an old Sinatra song that always struck a chord with me. The post has nothing to do with the song other than to muse on its title. The country was not, is not and probably never will be perfect but it strives over and over to be better. Back in 1945, with the war just ended, this little two reeler short, surprisingly an Oscar winner, debuted in time for Christmas. It speaks to that America, an America who did not think itself perfect but who saw itself as wanting to be better. Sometimes I think my parents generation had a better handle on this than we or our children do. Perhaps it has to do with the privation and struggle they shared. So here is 20 minutes of absolute schmaltz starring Joseph Patrick Carol Naish, NYC boy, showing us perhaps not who we are but who we should be.
    Merry Christmas to All

I have decided that I will in fact refer to Dr. Jill as Dr. Jill. HOWEVER …..It IS conditional.

In my 21 years in Civil Service I advanced through performance and testing seven ranks ultimately becoming a “Chief” Project Development Coordinator even placing #1 on teh promotion list. That entitled me to be a “Director” of the Neighborhood Preservation Program……

After leaving Government Service, I took a job in the private sector and rose to the rank of “Director” of field operations.

Henceforth I would appreciate being referred to as “Director” Trynosky, “Chief Trynosky” or simply ….. “el Jefe”.

    Gracias.

    • el Jefe, they trashed Melania for the last four years, fawned all over Michelle, and before that pooh-poohed Laura. My guess is that Dr. Jill will be sainted as some sort of educational guru at least until Queen Kamala is crowned.

    • So, you are El Je’fe……hmmmm……..wonder what a Full Bird Colonel would be……just plain old…Coro-NEL…I guess…..

I am really going to have a difficult time referring to Biden as Commander in Chief…like his boss of old, he cannot salute either….it is sloppy and unrefined….. ***using my best Wayne’s World “I’m not worthy voice”………..His salute is not worthy…..it…..just……isn’t.

However, for the time being, I guess protocol dictates that he is Commander in Chief and rates the respect of the office (rank)….not the person himself because he damned sure ain’t worthy as a person, but, as I said, protocol dictates acceptance of the fact that he is the CIC.

      So, it goes……….so……it……goes.

HOW TO FIGHT COVID AT HOME
No one ever talks about how to fight Covid at home. I came down with Covid in November. I went to the hospital, running a fever of 103, a rapid heart beat, and other common symptoms that come with Covid. While I was there they treated me for the high fever, dehydration and pneumonia.
The doctor sent me home to fight Covid with two prescriptions – Azithromycin 250mg & Dexamethason 6mg. When the nurse came in to discharge me, I asked her, “What can I do to help fight this at home?” She said, “Sleep on your stomach at all times with Covid. If you can’t sleep on your stomach because of heath issues sleep on your side. Do not lay on your back no matter what because it smashes your lungs and that will allow fluid to set in.
Set your clock every two hours while sleeping on your stomach, then get out of bed and walk for 15-30 min, no matter how tired or weak that you are. Also move your arms around frequently, it helps to open your lungs. Breathe in thru your nose, and out thru your mouth. This will help build up your lungs, plus help get rid of the Pneumonia or other fluid you may have.
When sitting in a recliner, sit up straight – do not lay back in the recliner, again this will smash your lungs. While watching TV – get up and walk during every commercial.
Eat at least 1 – 2 eggs a day, plus bananas, avocado and asparagus. These are good for Potassium. Drink Pedialyte, Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero & Water with Electrolytes to prevent you from becoming dehydrated. Do not drink anything cold – have it at room temperature or warm it up. Water with lemon, and little honey, peppermint tea, apple cider are good suggestions for getting in fluids. No milk products, or pork. Vitamin’s D3, C, B, Zinc, Probiotic One-Day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever. Mucinex, or Mucinex DM for drainage, plus helps the cough. Pepcid helps for cramps in your legs. One baby aspirin everyday can help prevent getting a blood clot, which can occur from low activity. ”
Drink a smoothie of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, honey, tea and a spoon or two of peanut butter.
We always hear of how Covid takes lives, but there isn’t a lot of information out there regarding how to fight Covid. I hope this helps you or someone you know, just as it has helped me.

So Mr. Trump threatens a veto of the Spendulus Bill, then signs it but OH MY GOD, he sends them back a copy covered with Red Ink. The HORROR………….

Is anyone really surprised by this? Just one more example of huffing and puffing but no house being blown down.

    • There’s a truism in Washington.. it’s safe to be “for the bill that fails and against the bill the passes.”

Anything bad that happens as a result of a passed bill, you can wash your hands of – you were against it! “Oh, if they’d only listened to me!”

As for the bill that fails, you can support any pipe dream you want, and imagine any future outcomes you want, and no one can say you’re wrong! “Oh, if they’d only listened to me!”

This typically manifests in things like the one-page ACA repeals or BS “Path To Prosperity”…. oh, they were so gung ho, passing them dozens of times knowing that Obama would never sign.. right up until they had the power to actually pass it under Trump… then they mysteriously lost interest. Why? Because then they’d have to be saddled with the real-world consequences rather than the imagined outcome and the benefits of deliberately-futile virtue signaling.

And here again, we see Trump’s masterful skill at this kind of thing. Whatever criticisms I may have of the man, he has a true talent for setting up this kind of scenario and getting rubes to buy into it. Here he is taking an age-old truism and one-upping it.

Here, he’s not only against the bill that passes (which he signed) and for the bill the fails (the DOA redlines), but he’s also going to grab credit for the “something is better than nothing” of the $600 check… effectively claiming only the upsides of the bill that passes while absolving himself of the downsides.

It really is… well, I’m impressed.

      • Just A Citizen says:

Your analysis is generally true but DO NOT FORGET that if you oppose a bill that passes you can still be blamed for “trying to kill the kids” or “preventing our heroes from being paid”.

Washington has mastered the SMEAR of one’s reputation and raised LYING to a true art form.

        • if you oppose a bill that passes you can still be blamed for “trying to kill the kids” or “preventing our heroes from being paid”.

True. Generally speaking, you can stand on some kind of principle.. “oh, I was for that part, but this other part was a deal breaker.. so it’s really [other side’s] fault!” Might not work 100%, but at least it muddies the water a bit.

I wonder if those Politicians climbing on the “global warming/AGW/climate change” bandwagon based their decision on:

    A) Complete reading and analysis of the science and supporting reports.
    B) Complete reading of the latest public opinion polls.
    C) None of the above.
    D) All of the above.

And YES, there is a trick in the answers.

    • I don’t know about “complete,” but the best answer is B.

None of these people have souls – the only thing any of them believe is that they should pretend to believe whatever helps them get and maintain power. If believing in climate change helps them, they will believe it.

(disclaimer about donors about, “belief” notwithstanding, they’ll do whatever their donors want)

    • I will say C because politicians don’t read anything, they pay people to do that for them then listen to their donors. It’s all about money and power, not reality.

        • Deciding unilaterally what is a legal vote, ignoring the fact that nothing has been proven despite dozens of failed lawsuits, deciding that this really means you won, and then rejecting the certification by the state to replace it with your unsubstantiated opinions… yea, that’s a naked power grab.

If the Democrats tried this, you’d be shitting a brick.

Penn’s legislature has admitted to certifying a fraudulent election already

          Pence cannot certify fraudulent votes.

Pence’s job is not to decide what is and is not fraudulent in terms of the underlying election. That has already been decided. There were dozens of court cases around this.

Pence’s job is to certify the vote OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE.

He doesn’t get to say “you counted wrong, so I’ll just flip your votes.” Or, rather, he might have that power, but it would be a naked power grab to utilize it in this manner. Rather, his job is to say “yes, you are the EC candidates selected by your state to vote and you voted this way, let me add you to the tally.”

          Now what?

Well, to effectuate this, he’d need cooperation from the House, which he won’t get. So it’s just a stunt – more futile theatrics.

So.. now what..? Now we wait for Biden to become the next President while Republicans spend the next 4-8 years claiming he’s illegitimate and gleefully refusing to cooperate in any way shape or form with anything even remotely resembling governance and then simultaneously blaming him for his failure to accomplish anything.

I would expect Trump to slink out of the White House in the middle of the night in the days before Inauguration and to boycott the actual event. Quite possibly, he will hold a counter-programmed event of his own, with actors hired to swear him into his second term or, baring that, announcing his 2024 candidacy.

Meanwhile, for the next 4-8 years, or so long as he is useful to the Red Team and their media stooges like OAN and Fox, Trump will run a shadow government out of Mar a Lago, claiming to be the real President and holding staged events such as vetoing bills he doesn’t like while Republicans in congress play along, submitting them to the President in Exile and filling DOA lawsuits with the Supreme Court to have any Biden-signed laws thrown out because the real President vetoed them.

We can expect the Red Team controlled Senate (if, indeed Red Team holds the Senate as I expect them to) to adamantly refuse to approve any nominations by the Biden administration to any post, but particularly judicial. We can also anticipate drummed up impeachment proceedings. We can expect some variant of “he cannot nominate X because he is not the legitimate President, so the post must remain open until Supreme Leader Trump is returned to his rightful place.”

Lots and lots of theatrics are in store us.. all of them aimed at one thing: obstructing and delegitimizing the Blue Team.

          • Pence’s job is to certify the vote OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. Yep. That is all he can do, nothing more.

Well, to effectuate this, he’d need cooperation from the House, which he won’t get. So it’s just a stunt – more futile theatrics. Yep

So.. now what..? Now we wait for Biden to become the next President while Republicans spend the next 4-8 years claiming he’s illegitimate and gleefully refusing to cooperate in any way shape or form with anything even remotely resembling governance and then simultaneously blaming him for his failure to accomplish anything. Of course, this is going to happen. What goes around…comes around. Pretty simple.

I would expect Trump to slink out of the White House in the middle of the night in the days before Inauguration and to boycott the actual event. Quite possibly, he will hold a counter-programmed event of his own, with actors hired to swear him into his second term or, baring that, announcing his 2024 candidacy. Nope. He will just leave.

Naaaah!

We can expect the Red Team controlled Senate (if, indeed Red Team holds the Senate as I expect them to) to adamantly refuse to approve any nominations by the Biden administration to any post, but particularly judicial. Yep…you can expect this is if they hold the Senate…which I doubt. On the other hand, you can expect that if the Dems control the Senate with the VP, you can expect far left judicial nominations.

We can also anticipate drummed up impeachment proceedings. We can expect some variant of “he cannot nominate X because he is not the legitimate President, so the post must remain open until Supreme Leader Trump is returned to his rightful place.” Nope. The Republicans do not have the “balls” to do this and the Blue Team knows this.

Lots and lots of theatrics are in store us.. all of them aimed at one thing: obstructing and delegitimizing the Blue Team. Of course…..same song second verse. (Suddenly hearing I’m Henry the 8th I am…repeatedly)

            • same song second verse.

              Right you are!

.. I’m assuming by this that you agree the first vs was when they did all this to “the Kenyan Usurper,” right?

              • No sir…..by the time the “Usurper” got there, we were already on the 10th verse….this same thing has been going on for years and years….just now that the social media and the media has surfaced, it is just out in front more visibly.

It became vitriol with the “Usurper”, then more vitriol with the “Orange” man..and it will continue to be so with Biden, then with Harris next year.

          • This is a Trump tweet…yeah, yeah…but I also read it on Epoch Times on the one free read I got. I’ve seen links to other articles on it too. Have you tried running links down lately? They’re scrubbing the internet clean and fast. Think what you may. Name one thing unlawful that Team Trump has done. From what I KEEP reading, Pence can accept or not accept whatever he darn well wants. Exaggerating? Maybe. Whatever he does will be legal.

            • Pennsylvania just found 205,000 votes more than they had voters. Therefore, we WIN Pennsylvania!!!

This took me all of 30 seconds to fact check.

“We are unclear as to what data the legislators used for this most recent “analysis.” But the only way to determine the number of voters who voted in November from the SURE system is through the vote histories. At this time, there are still a few counties that have not completed uploading their vote histories to the SURE system. These counties, which include Philadelphia, Allegheny, Butler and Cambria, would account for a significant number of voters. The numbers certified by the counties, not the uploading of voter histories into the SURE system, determines the ultimate certification of an election by the secretary.

“This obvious misinformation put forth by Rep. Ryan and others is the hallmark of so many of the claims made about this year’s presidential election. When exposed to even the simplest examination, courts at every level have found these and similar conspiratorial claims to be wholly without basis.

“To put it simply, this so-called analysis was based on incomplete data.”

              Pennsylvania Department of State
              December 28, 2020

Pennsylvania just found 205,000 votes more than they had voters. Therefore, we WIN Pennsylvania!!!

Notwithstanding that this is bullshit, but why is it that alleged fraud of 205k votes necessarily means they’re Biden votes? Even if – IF – we were to accept that there were 205k extra votes, how is it that Brian Kemp somehow knows they’re fraudulent Biden votes?

If – IF – we were to accept that these votes were fraudulent (and I don’t!), how are we supposed to substantiate the step from “X number of votes are fraud” to “therefore Trump wins”?

This is looking at a total PA count – those alleged fraudulent votes are comingled in the whole bunch. Is it divine wisdom and the word of god revealed by the Metatron itself, telling us that the votes should be taken from the Biden column and not the Trump column or a mix of the two?

This is like saying “someone cheated – and maybe it was me – but someone cheated and therefore and hence I pronounce myself the winner!”

              • And the Penn Dept of State has been rigging elections since the country was founded. That is like me stating something coming from Dana Nessell is the truth. We’ll see how it plays out. Off to crazyland Amazon.

  36. Seein’ an awful lot of hate from the left for Mitch McConnel without realizing that the Red Team is just using him as a shield to do their dirty work for them.

If they wanted to pass a $2,000 clean stimulus bill, they could do it over his objections. They don’t want to. But they can’t say that because it’s popular – so they have to be “for the bill that fails.” So they let Mitch kill it and then they lament “oh, if only! Well, at least I tried!”

It’s not governing. It’s virtue signaling.

I swear, we aren’t that far from breaking out the guillotines.

    ———-

Disclaimer: Nothing in the above should be read to imply I agree with “stimulus” or the idea that anyone should get a stimulus check of any kind, only that the idea is broadly popular and the Republicans know this and are actively using Mitch McConnel as a smokescreen to let them claim they were in favor of giving the larger check without having to actually do so.

    • If they wanted to pass a $2,000 clean stimulus bill, they could do it over his objections. This could be true but what I am also hearing and reading is that there is no clean stimulus bill…..that there is another round of pork to add to it. I think if there was a clean bill, it would pass.

  37. Of interest, just saw an interview on the TV news about 5th Avenue and downtown New York. The interview was with some New York group that represents the mom and pop stores, street vendors, and major apparel chains. Another group represented larger retail and real estate brokers and owners. All of them saying that New York City looks like a wasteland with shops shut down, Broadway shut down, 5th Avenue shut down, street vendors not on the streets, Deli’s shut down……..They claim that it will take up to a decade to get New York City back to where it was,……Rentals are falling, evictions are rising, crime on the increase, tourists facilities all but empty……and worse of all, revenues for the City have fallen by 30% and are continuing to fall.

Don’t know how true it is and don’t really care….but there is even talk of some of the major Wall street types seeking cheaper and more friendly environments (whatever that means)…..So, Mathius, what are you seeing and hearing up there from the local side. I get all the “National” side I want but what do you local yokels think?

    • They claim that it will take up to a decade to get New York City back to where it was

New York will never go back to what it was.

This shut down has proven that expensive urban real estate is no longer necessary in the age of the internet and remote work. I can work from anywhere, live anywhere. It’ll take a little time for the effects to be fully felt, but there’s no reason people are going to persist in paying $3k/mo for a 900sqft one-bedroom or hundreds of thousands of dollars for prestige Times Square office leases.. it’s just.. obsolete.

And, by the way, why would a NY-based firm want to pay a NY wage when it can hire workers in “Idaho” and pay them half as much? Or, for that matter, Bangalore and pay them half of even that?

Some things can’t be done remotely, but we’ve shown that most of it can be. At least in the “white collar” sectors which comprise so much of NYC’s value proposition.

The model of “pay a premium to be where the action is” is dying, and the COVID shutdown has only accelerated it.

NYC is in a death spiral which started with the first days of AOL.. it’s only now becoming apparent.

      • Actually it is sad. I have only been in the State twice….once in New York City, and went to several Broadway shows and did the tourist thing to the Statue….I was there for a conference and could not figure out why they held it there but that was in the 80’s. And, I believe I mentioned it here, I went to Syracuse 2 years ago, in what is termed upstate, for the National Bowling Championship. It was just beautiful and the people very friendly. Had to take the missus to Cooperstown. She is a baseball fanatic. It was interesting but you can only look at so much baseball paraphernalia…..the drive through the countryside was gorgeous and stopping along the way for fresh apple cider was something to remember at quaint little mom and pop stores.

        • My very first memory of NYC was a visit my family made when I was a child, perhaps 10 at most, so early 90’s. I don’t remember the airport or the drive to the city. What I remember is going through a long tunnel and emerging out in this sort of valley walled in by enormous towering buildings on all sides – it was nothing like I’d seen before. And as I goggled at it all, I turned my head to the left, and there, mere feet away from us, in broad daylight, in full view, was a man urinating on a wall.

          • LOL….yes….and I remember that I was chastised very heartily by a policeman on horseback as I and my spousal unit were walking through Central Park around midnight. Being a foreigner in those lands, I did not realize the dangers of Central Park at midnight. The Mountie escorted us to our hotel, which was right across the street.

            • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

After a concert circa 1970 in the Park, we walked over to the West side where my car was parked. Halfway through we sat on a bench enjoying the evening stars and moon over the Sheep’s Meadow. A police Jeep pulled up and agave us the same lecture. Then he flashed his side mounted searchlight on a bush about 25 feet behind us and flushed out a miscreant. Even IF you are from the City, even IF you think you have situational awareness, there are places best left alone.

  38. Remember, I said that I was going to pull a Mathius and keep track of Biden’s lies just as he did on Trump. When I get to 20 new lies, I will post my findings…right now I am up to 16 since December 15……the latest “lie” is that he said, unlike Trump, he will make all vaccine free to everyone…….

ummmm……it is already free, Mr Biden. It costs nothing to the individual or insurance company’s under operation warp speed.

Oh, and the news media is on record that they will not fact check Biden the same as Trump…..

    • I’ve thought about saving a few that I’ve read to add to your list, but decided it was a waste of my time. Mathius wants you to say that Trump is a liar. Period. I’m going to really shock him now. I’m mad at Trump for telling a big one. He said last year about this time that he would never sign another CR full of pork. He signed it. He lied. But I still don’t consider him a liar. More like going back on his word. He was in an impossible situation and decided to take what he could get. Big difference. Keep your list going, Mathius will see what a real liar is.

      • Yep…Trump was always accused of ” embellishing himself and his accomplishments”….well, Biden has actually done far worse. My only point to make is about politicians and egoists….they lie or twist or stack the truth for their side. No one is immune and they have all done it. Hell, Biden was worse than Obama and I thought that could never happen….but, I will do the same that our lefty friend has done and “ride herd” on Biden.

Here is but one example……BIDEN: I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do, I suspect. I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my — in my class to have a full academic scholarship. In the first year in law school I decided didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class, and then decided I wanted to stay, went back to law school, and in fact ended up in the top half of my class. I won the international moot-court competition. I was the outstanding student in the political science department at the end of my year. I graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school and 165 credits — I only needed 123 credits. And I’d be delighted to sit down and compare my IQ to yours if you’d like Frank.

It turned out that Biden did not receive a full academic scholarship, but a half scholarship based on financial need. He did not end up in the top half of his class, but near the very bottom. There is no record of him winning the moot court competition. He did not receive the outstanding student award at the University of Delaware. And he graduated with only one degree.

However, according to the media, this is not a lie. He has “miscast” some of the facts and that it was hard to remember what happened in college…

        Hmmmmm…..

        • Did I ever tell you about the time I won the World Chess Championship?

Well, I mean.. I won a championship of chess somewhere in the world.

Well, I mean.. it was a long time ago.. what I mean to say is that I was a champion, which it is to say I won a game of chess one time.

          ——-

Let me see if I can help you out here and save you some time and effort: Biden is a liar.

  39. And here we go! Loeffler and Perdue are doomed. Fire up the lawsuits now while you have standing. Wait…there’s no harm yet. Doomed!

  40. It’s been a busy year.. Put this on in the background and enjoy hearing about some of the stories that never made it to the headlines..

  41. This is kind of bugging me.. maybe someone can shed some light on it while Anita is off at the coal mines Amazon.

Pennsylvania just found 205,000 votes more than they had voters. Therefore, we WIN Pennsylvania!!!

If we accept this as true (which, again, I don’t), then the results of the election are certainly in dispute and need to be revisited or redone or or or or or or or or or or..

What I’d like to know is how we get from “there was cheating” to “therefore I win.”

As I said to Anita, this is tantamount to “someone cheated – and maybe it was me – but someone cheated and therefore and hence I pronounce myself the winner!”

Without knowing what votes are fraudulent, how can Brian Kemp et al make such a damned certain proclamation that they actually won and why should people like y’all accept that?

Is it just that “Democrats are cheating cheaters who cheat. So if there’s cheating, of course, it must have been them!”?

    • Just A Citizen says:

      Mathius

First of all, I have not seen the back up for these latest allegations. But PA does have a major problem which you and others have ignored. That is the blatant violation of their own election laws which allowed counting of “late” mail in ballots, along with some other shenanigans.

But your actual point is valid. It applies to what we know is true as well as this latest allegation. Proving cheating occurred is not an AUTOMATIC win for the victim.

One would have to show that the cheating/fraud actually resulted in a FALSE victory. In short, you would have to know how many votes were fraudulent and how many went to each candidate.

In short, there is ZERO logical/rational connection between “They Cheated” and “I Win”, without much more detailed information.

      • But PA does have a major problem which you and others have ignored. That is the blatant violation of their own election laws which allowed counting of “late” mail in ballots, along with some other shenanigans.

That well may be, but this has been adjudicated into dust by the courts.

The “LAW” is that the courts decide if there was a violation, and the courts have made no such determination. Therefore, whatever may have happened in the world of empirical reality – however much you and I may dislike this fact – is irrelevant. What matters is what can be proven in court and, regardless of whether there actually was any such shenanigans, the fact is that courts have not found that to be the case. Therefore, LEGALLY, it is not a thing.

LEGALLY, until proven otherwise, there was no fraud.

Just like we all know for damned sure that OJ murdered Nicole Simpson.. but the law said “nope.” It doesn’t change the empirical reality of the fact that he did it. But it does mean, that for all legal intents and purposes he’s innocent and the case is still open and they are still ostensibly looking for the real murder.

But your actual point is valid.

        OOOoooOOOooohhh… that feels tingly!

        Say it again!

One would have to show that the cheating/fraud actually resulted in a FALSE victory. In short, you would have to know how many votes were fraudulent and how many went to each candidate.

Sounds like you agree with my point here…

In short, there is ZERO logical/rational connection between “They Cheated” and “I Win”, without much more detailed information.

        Wahoo!!!

So, then, to Trump and Kemp and Anita’s claims……..?

        • Just A Citizen says:

          Mathius

The PA Case HAS NOT BEEN ADJUDICATED, into the dust or otherwise.

Because the case itself involves the PA Supreme Court as one of the “offenders”. Thus it has to go to SCOTUS to get an actual ruling. Again, the PA court dismissed the latest case based on laches. This was the suit brought by a PA legislator.

For whatever reason this case, which was first brought to SCOTUS before the election, seems to have just sat there and spoiled.

          • Again, the PA court dismissed the latest case based on laches

            Hang onnnn…. hold up, cowboy…..

            ::rewinds the tape::

Mr. Trump DID NOT LOSE ANY CASE due to the principle of laches. Got it?

Compares notes… PA court dismissed the latest case based on laches…. Mr. Trump did not lose due to laches…. ::scrolls down a bit:: ahhhh.. you’re saying someone Trump-aligned lost, but not the official Trump & Co themselves… ok, got it… that’s a distinction without a difference, but sure.

Because the case itself involves the PA Supreme Court as one of the “offenders”.

What’s the allegation against the PA Supreme Court? They’re in cahoots, are they?

For whatever reason this case, which was first brought to SCOTUS before the election, seems to have just sat there and spoiled.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m decently informed on the law, but I’m not actually a lawyer, so I could be wrong on what I’m about to say…

I don’t think laches applies if you file and just languish in the waiting line. I think if you file in a timely manner, you don’t “spoil” unless the remedy you’re seeking is no longer available.. but that wouldn’t be laches. Laches has to do with a “no sitting on the sidelines and then swooping in late and trying to overturn the apple cart.” It’s not about “you filed, but it took too long so now you’re s-o-l.”

Maybe I’m missing something… all these cases start to run together after a time..

        • Just A Citizen says:

Here is the SNOPES explanation of Mr. Trump’s claims about over votes. I guess they didn’t realize their “fact checking” actually creates a bigger question which in fact supports the claims of illegal mail in ballots.

Notice the number registered and requesting mail in ballots as of the DEADLINE for registering. Then note the actual number claimed as “requested” in the second graphic. Hundreds of thousands difference.

          https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pa-mailin-votes-ballots/

Now this was their response to the claims made weeks ago. I do not think it applies to this latest accusation of a couple hundred thousand discrepancy.

    • I’ve seen some metadata reports that show an 11:08 switch of 17+K votes. At 11:07 Biden had 44.0 %, Trump had 50.6%. At 11:08 it showed that 54 votes were added, but Biden had 44.6 % and Trump 50%. it equaled -17+K for Trump and +17+K for Biden. I’ll try and find the picture or a link (it has long been buried by Google).

              • I feel like I’ve said multiple times that machines should not be allowed within a country mile of an election…. I feel like I’ve been very clear on this point.

What your “IT expert and Stanford researcher” has testified to is something that literally every human being with a brain who has any kind of connection to IT could have told you at any time: machines cannot be trusted. That it has wi-fi is (if true) even more atrocious, but it doesn’t change any of the functional issues: machines cannot be trusted.

Even without wi-fi, the second a polling location has custody and someone turns their back, they shove in a USB drive, or their pall picks the lock, or or or or… and as soon as you have access to the hardware, the game is over.

                MACHINES CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

            • Not that I would accuse a random conspiracy theoriest on “banned.video” and wraps up with Alex Jones of giving a sketchy or misleading account of things… .but, you know… trust but verify, right?

Why not, my friend, you post theories all the time and you believe the sources that YOU trust….and I am now convinced, videos get banned for purely political reasons.

Here is on reason why on Twitter: Democrats thought they had a lock on social media when they leveraged Facebook’s data-mining tools to get the vote out for Obama. You can only imagine their horror when they saw Trump turn the tables on them in 2016.

They were blindsided when the right broke new ground as great innovators and pioneers with our use of Social Media to bypass media gatekeepers of information.

Immediately, Democrats like David Brock at Media Matters developed a detailed strategy to use social media monopolies to crush their opposition on the right, including the practice of bogus fact-checkers as a justification to shut down right-of-center voices. They put it all in writing, too: MEDIA MATTERS WAR PLAN 2017

Now that the Tech Tyrants have the critical mass they need to capture and control the digital public square and silence voices saying things they don’t want us to hear — including silencing America’s oldest newspaper exposing a scandal involving pay-for-play corruption in the immediate family of a Presidential candidate only weeks before the election — they want to entirely shut out those troublesome right-of-center voices whose controversy and platforms helped them achieve their monopolies in the first place.

They are literally counting down the hours until they can justify making his Twitter account go dark.

and this: Facebook (FB) allows politicians, including political candidates, to lie in political ads, according to a controversial policy that has been vigorously defended by the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He says Facebook should not be the “arbiters of truth.”

But other political groups, including political action committees, are subject to fact-checking by third party groups Facebooks pays.
Ads run by The Committee to Defend the President have attracted criticism from Democrats.

              ——————-

This is why the media cannot and will not be trusted.

      • There was an analyst who went through the JSON files on the NYT website and found several of these “anomalies” that mostly occurred during the big pause in counting. In one case I remember Trump votes went backwards. I may have posted one or two of these links weeks ago. But naturally, Mathius is not interested in looking at the data or the statistics only in the court cases that never make it beyond filing. Too many chickens–t judges who do not want Antifa at their house.

        For Mathius:

        • I LOVE data!

What are you even talking about?!

What planet are you on? Is it Pluto? Say hi to Charlie if you see him.

Give me the raw data and point me at what you’re looking at.

    • Why after nearly 2 months has all the data not been uploaded to the appropriate systems? Philadelphia and Allegheny are two big democrat strongholds. Butler is one county north of Allegheny and Cambria is 2 counties east of Allegheny. The latter two are more rural so have smaller populations probably mostly red.

In poker, when called you must show your cards or fold. The red team is calling the blue team. It is past time to show your cards. The ballots and machines are public domain not the blue team’s private property. It is well past time to allow an independent inspection of the evidence and ballots. If you do not agree with this, then you become part of the cover up.

I keep hearing how Trump is trying to disenfranchise voters. If there was cheating, it is not Trump who is disenfranchising the voters, it is the cheaters.

Some humor. I was just cleaning out file boxes of stuff I have been carrying around for years. Came across a notebook filled with “brainstorming” ideas for the business I started back in the 90’s. Yes, I know that for some here the idea of me “brainstorming” may cause hearty laughter. But then that is my goal with this post.

Any who, several of these pages included words that could be used in creating a slogan for the company. There were about three pages using differing combinations and then at some point I started focusing on acronyms that could be created from the words. In a stroke of genius, maybe it was just a stroke as I was in the Australian sun at the time, I wrote this down:

    Service, Honesty, Integrity, Trust (SHIT)

SHIT doesn’t just happen. We MAKE SURE it happens.

I am thinking that given where I was and it being summer and all, there might have been a gin & tonic or two that led to this, what could be called the GREATEST, marketing slogan.

Yes, I was argued out of this great idea by several “experts” in marketing. I still think they couldn’t think outside the box and thus see what a wonderful idea it truly was.

    • I would like to invest in your business.

No, I don’t need to know what it does or what your “business plan” is. The name/slogan is sufficient. Where can I mail my check?

      • Just A Citizen says:

        Mathius

Here is the Mission Statement I developed as well:

Do Good, Have Fun, Make Money.

        • When our small company was part of a much bigger company, we had to do the TQM thing which included a mission statement. They came up with the typical big company BS which I paraphrased as “Be all things to all people all the time”. My suggestion was “Our goal is to make you successful”.

          • I have no tolerance for that kind of bullshittery.

            Just use human words!

I have worked at a few big funds and find it especially noxious the way they have to make everything an acronym* and overuse of jargon-y terminology.. “Oh, this is the SST team responsible for the BOT process’s end state migration… this team has a matrix leadership structure reporting to the ODS leadershit* panel and the MLM team of the XPI group who also oversees the FOH sub-group of the MMS macro-group.”

Maybe if you stay in that kind of structure long enough it starts to feel natural, but I threw up in my mouth a little bit just now even typing that all out, so I don’t think I’m cut out for it.

            ——

*yes, I know, this is technically an “initialization” but I’ll be a cold day in hell before I accept that terminology either.

**this was a real typo, but I decided to leave it in.

  43. RIP Maryann…

I was always a more partial to Ginger, though..

  44. I hope this link works:

  45. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the wild Tuesday attack of a BMW driver whose posh car was vandalized by a bicycle gang in broad daylight in Manhattan, the Post has learned.Torgovnick told the Post Wednesday he and his mother, who is in her 70s, had just dropped off a donation at a nonprofit organization and were heading to his father’s neurology office when they ran into around 50 teen bikers Tuesday afternoon.Video of the harrowing attack shows the bikers surrounding the BMW at Fifth Avenue and 21st Street, with some pounding the vehicle with their fists and feet, and another smashing a bike on Torgovnick’s front window.

So, NYC, this is what it is coming to now?

  46. Thoughts on the potential repeal of Section 230?

I know my read.. but I’d be interested in y’all’s.

    A) Thoughts on repealing Section 230?
    B) Thoughts on the tactics surrounding the effort?

    • A: Should be a no brainer, they have no reason for special protections

B: Nothing new in the Swamp.

    • Well, we have Anti Trust Laws for business’ ,,,,,,,why should we protect the Tech industry. Repeal it and let the public decide.

As to the tactics……………..whatever tactics work. As a supposedly master tactician (being a g3 on several staffs)…..you use what works.

I think it is the WRONG solution for a growing problem.

I approach most issues from a comprehensive point of view. Start with the beginning and move forward. Identify each element along the way that did or could contribute to the problem. By doing this you often realize a small fix to some precursor decision point will fix the problem instead of some massive RENOVATION or COMPREHENSIVE REFORM.

In this case I would start with “How did these companies grow so big without competition sprouting up?”

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Since you are fighting people who can essentially make you disappear, ALL tactics are on the table.

  47. LOL…Governor Newsom now trying to block the Rose Bowl from being played in Texas……Good luck.

  48. President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team disabled the chat function for reporters on conference Zoom calls, where journalists had been pressing officials to take more questions.”The Biden transition team appears to have disabled the public chat function on its transition zoom calls, a place where I and others had been routinely complaining to them to take more questions,” incoming Politico White House editor Sam Stein tweeted Wednesday.

    My…my…the worm is turning.

  49. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Maritime security firms say a suspicious object has been found on the hull of an oil tanker in the Persian Gulf off the coast of Iraq. The firms say officials fear it could be a limpet mine on the MT Pola, though the Liberian-flagged tanker was receiving assistance Thursday in the Persian Gulf off Basra.

I saw the pictures….it IS a Limpet mine…..I do not know why they are saying the investigation is on going…it is a Limpet and even the most inept munitions expert would know it…………….geez.

  50. A Kentucky man is going viral for his unconventional idea of clearing the snow in his driveway with a flamethrower.

Saw the pictures for this……HUAh!!!! More effective than shovels.

  51. Oh, hey, anyone have any thoughts on the guy who blew up his RV the other day?

    • No….no thoughts on it. Do you see something that I missed?

      • Well, I mean, some guy went ahead and blew himself up on Christmas day.. .that’s a thing that happened that doesn’t happen every day… just wondering if you guys had any interesting (or hilariously paranoiac) takes…

        • Yeah. Some creepy recordings blaring at 6am. Cops walked right past it saying even they thought it was creepy. Cops walk around the blocks clearing residents. The cop I saw with the bodycam was very calm talking to the residents. Walked to his car, pulled a vest out of the trunk, then KABLAM! Cop was strangely very calm, didn’t rush to the scene, which was around the block. He made his way over there and the bodycam stopped at the end of the block. Makes my conspiracy meter jump. With no proof, I’d say the guy was dead before the RV exploded. But why do I keep hearing that this ATT building was a supposed site for deconstructing the Dominion Voting Machines?

But he’s a real conspiracy theory. It wasn’t the RV sounding creepy recordings…it was the ATT light pole …outside the ATT building. I’ve never heard of this site before.
          https://www.thefolliesofdistributism.com/2020/12/nashville-explosion-rv-did-not-have.html?m=1

          • Also saw a video of the supposed pre explosion gunfire. I heard maybe 25-30 shots. Makes me think the gunfire was blaring from the light pole too. Who knows anymore, since we’re living in the matrix.

        • What difference does a day make? Unless there is something specific in a manifesto or a note…….just another nut blowing himself up. Other than the enormous explosion that gets media attention…just another suicide. I wonder how many Christmas suicides there were nationwide that are not publicized…..who knows but it did not deserve headlines other than damaging 40 business’.

that is my take…but then again, I am a cruel, heartless, demeaning, racist, homophobic, deplorable and whatever else conservative.

You must have missed my “he went out with a bang” comment!

  52. Out on the news…….staffers, with an average age of 30, are going to get vaccine shots ahead of everybody else. Politicians and staffers……….more important than anybody else, I guess.

    • Good.

Let the unimportant people go first.

If they live, we’ll know it’s safe for the rest of us.

  53. Way to go Cuomo…………..it is ok to attend a Bills game for 25,000 people but you cant sit down and have a meal at your local restaurant…..

  54. Before my old feeble mind forgets……………..Happy New Year to all SUFAites……..even Mathius, the Pirate, and the dog.

Since about a week after the electioin Mr. Biden has been trying to hijack the Presidency before he is sworn in, let alone certified the winner. I suspected this was behind the public criticism of the Trump people not helping with transition duties. Now we have Defense Dept and OMB fighting the allegations. Claiming Mr. Biden and his team are full of the you know what.

Well per this story it is worse than I thought. They are trying to get the agencies to start working on their policies and programs. This is NOT transition. This is an attempt to take the POTUS seat before the inauguration. Please note that the Biden rep does not deny what they are doing. Instead he doubles down claiming that OMB’s unwillingness to develop policy for the Biden folks is somehow proof of the obstruction they claim. This kind of garbage was so typical during the Obama administration. Looks like we are going to be suffering some deja vu’ for the next four years.
