Doubling Down on Dumb

  1. Time for a new thread.

  2. On Jan. 22, 12 Mexican state police officers allegedly participated in the mass murder of 19 people, including migrants from Guatemala, who were only miles away from the Texas border.

The smugglers, along with the migrants, were shot and burned beyond recognition. They were discovered piled on top of one another in a charred pickup truck near Camargo, Mexico, near the Rio Grande River.

The investigation is ongoing but authorities in Mexico suspect that the smugglers didn’t pay the local cartel’s pisos, a sort of tax imposed for using their territory to move people across. In the end the migrants paid the ultimate price.

These are the deaths that are often ignored in the tragedy of the illegal immigration debate, but they are frequent and horrific.

In the narco-world there are only two choices once you cross into their territory – plata o plomo – in English it’s “silver or lead.” Any group, any person, traversing the border illegally is at the mercy of the cartels: if the silver isn’t paid, a “lead” bullet is the retribution.
Like Texas, the Arizona border is known for its harsh environment. The cartels care little about the migrants crossing, as they collect their cut of money from the smuggling organizations every month, Del Cueto said. The cost varies on multiple factors “but no one crosses illegally without paying the cartels,” he added. It took some time but eventually the migrants revealed that the traffickers they paid took their original group of 300 and broke them into groups of two to mitigate the chances that they would be caught. They sent each group with a cheap cellphone, which contained maps with “way points” that told them where to move on a predesignated route into the U.S. At each point, they checked in with the guide and then kept moving,” said Del Cueto. “The guides keep track of the migrants, while the scouts for the smugglers are watching the (Border Patrol) agents along the route. The cartels want to make sure the people get through and they want to make sure the guides don’t get exposed.” There’s been a significant escalation in violence, human trafficking and smuggling of contraband since the beginning of the year, according to federal law enforcement. The Biden administration’s reversal of Trump’s strict border policies is the reason why, say law enforcement officials. These policies are being used by the cartels to increase their profits and lure thousands of undocumented migrants to the U.S. The cartels combined have amassed billions of dollars and sometimes their resources far exceed U.S. law enforcement’s. They raise their money off the backs and lives of the poor and desperate. Failed U.S. policy perpetuates that behavior. Make no mistake it is a war.

    • What’s the fee for crossing?

      • Are we talking crossing the border or talking crossing cartel land. They are different……just to cross the Cartel land, the fee is $200 USD. The fee for crossing the border into the US…ranges from $2500 to $7,000 USD per head.

Alas! No one cares. They ain’t your kids.

The cold hearted brutality among the ruling classes in the United States is fast approaching 18th century standards espoused by French nobility. Maybe the next time people march on our “Bastion of Liberty” Capitol Building, they will bring the pitchforks and torches.

      English translation:
      Arise, children of the Fatherland
Our day of glory has arrived
Against us the bloody flag of tyranny
is raised; the bloody flag is raised.
Do you hear, in the countryside
The roar of those ferocious soldiers?
They’re coming right into your arms
To cut the throats of your sons, your comrades!

      To arms, citizens!
      Form your battalions
      Let’s march, let’s march
      That their impure blood
      Should water our fields.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Sooner or later these cartels will learn what the smugglers in North Africa learned. There’s value in those that cant pay the fee. Dont shot or burn the bodies. There is a viable market in body parts. Organ transplants. North if the border.

Last year once such ring was arrested in North Africa. Those that 1) couldnt pay the fees. 2) those that could pay the fee and had no connections in Europe that could pay.

The people were parts for their organs and smuggled up into Europe through Egypt

This is a very true report

  3. The Biden administration’s efforts to impose a 100-day pause on deportations of illegal immigrants were dealt another blow on Tuesday when a district judge extended a ban on its imposition in response to a lawsuit from Texas.

U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton indefinitely banned enforcement of the Jan. 20 memorandum that would have implemented a 100-day moratorium on most deportations.
Tipton had previously issued a two-week restraining order on the policy after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton had argued that it violated federal law and an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Texas be consulted before such a move.

    We are still fighting.

The other night the bride and I ventured across state lines to deliver the kiddies back home to Maryland. Stopping in the welcome center in Delaware for gas and the WC, I waited in the car for the wife. These two Utes in their mid 20’s, male and female, were busy toking it up big time three cars from me. Now, when I exited the facility, more than 100 feet away I got that damned burned rope smell but did not realize until I was in the car where it came from.

Not for nothin, as my late buddy Bobby O’Neill would have said, I grew up in a house with two smokers, Kent’s and Philip Morris. I never had to deal with the sensory pollution I am getting from the new and improved weed out there. If I can smell it, IT’S GOING IN MY LUNGS. Now, the same thing happened two weeks back in a parking garage at Atlantic City.

    The Hypocrisy simply astounds me.

A chant from the past repurposed for modern times.

“Free the Capitol 221 and Power to the People”.

  7. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

    Unintended consequence.

High and Middle schoolers have been out of classes now for almost a year in many states. To date, nobody has indicated how many of those children are participating at all in “virtual” learning. Efforts to impose standardized testing have been rebuffed in most places, a tacit admission of its failure. .

So, when classes resume, just who is going to get the children not participating in virtual back into the classroom? Assume for a moment that wildly optimistic figure of 25% not currently learning, mostly in the cities. Truant officers as we remember them do no longer exist and their replacements deal with two or three percent. Does anyone really expect they can handle 25?

So, the fraudulent, fake, phony, farcical Dr. Anthony Fauci can now take credit for the destruction of an entire generation of youth and the concurrent spike in crime to I would assume historic proportions.

If one deliberately wanted to destroy a country, it would be hard to find a more successful way.

    • Locally our schools have been open all this school year. My young cousin in Ohio goes to a Catholic school, which has been open as well. I would have to do some research, but it seems that rural schools are open, city schools are not. Democrats need their voting base of the future I suppose.

      • U.S.—A representative speaking on behalf of the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, and dozens of other teachers’ unions said today that schools cannot reopen until we are safe from our kids ever having a future.

“Until American kids’ education has suffered so much that they have no future career, no prospects, and no hope, we cannot go back to teaching,” she said. “We must destroy them. We must end their lives. Their childhoods, their futures, their ability to contribute to society in a meaningful fashion: we must demolish it all. Bring it all crumbling to the ground.”

“Then, and only then, will we return to teaching. We think that’s reasonable.”

The teachers’ unions say this will help their teachers maintain their jobs, since no one will have an education and therefore cannot replace them.

    • On another note. Our local bar/eateries are still fully open. The State rep that has this area stops in for a beer now and then, knowing he can do nothing. The governors words and written directives are not legal and they know it, which includes the face diapers. There are zero cases of covid attributed to our businesses. Our governor is an idiot and will likely not see another term.

  14. And now, the cracks are already beginning to appear.

A letter signed by three dozen House Democrats reportedly asks the 78-year-old Biden to renounce his sole authority to launch nuclear weapons. Now, first of all, it’s unconstitutional. That’s first of all. There is one commander-in-chief. It is not the U.S. Congress. There is zero constitutional ambiguity here. But second of all, what do these Democrats know about Joe Biden that maybe the rest of us don’t? the host continued. The Democratic lawmakers write: While any president would presumably consult with advisors before ordering a nuclear attack, there is no requirement to do so. The military is obligated to carry out the order if they assess it is legal under the laws of war. Under the current posture of U.S. nuclear forces, that attack would happen in minutes, the letter reads.Democrats offered some alternatives to sole nuclear authority, such as requiring the vice president and House speaker to agree with a launch order from the president before it is executed, according to Politico.

They didn’t propose this even when Donald Trump was president — and they all hated Donald Trump.

How scary it is… wonder our friend, Mathius, bolted. There is no way he could defend anything that is happening right now. I suppose he made the right decision for his own health.

    • Don’t worry, Dr. Jill “Edith Wilson” Biden is there to back him up.

Will you be any more comfortable when Kamala holds the button?

  15. In an opinion article published online Thursday, a top liberal columnist for The New York Times blamed Democrats for the harm being inflicted on millions of the nation’s children by a year of school closures – describing it as a “tragedy we haven’t adequately confronted.”

Writer Nicholas Kristof also suggests that many Democrats may have been blinded by animus toward former President Trump when they enacted the coronavirus-related school shutdowns.

“Many Democrats seemed to be more suspicious of in-person schooling last summer when President Donald Trump called for it,” he writes, adding, “We shouldn’t let ourselves be driven by ideology rather than science.”
“The blunt fact,” he continues, “is that it is Democrats – including those who run the West Coast, from California through Oregon to Washington State – who have presided over one of the worst blows to the education of disadvantaged Americans in history.”He also blames Democratic governors and mayors, saying they “too often let schools stay closed even as bars opened.”

    More cracks?

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

And given that so many school districts across the nation are ramming down children’s throats their racist agenda against “white” children

    • They miss Trump and might actually need to do so real journalism for a change.

  16. Oh no….a new word that has been coined to give this liberal push more ammo…”twindemic”…now, with the flu season upon us, it will be a “twindemic”…hoo boy, what next?

  17. I have been trying to find a new term to describe our current government. Fascism is ultra-nationalism, dictatorial socialistic rule with control (voluntary or involuntary) of private enterprise be it business, popular culture, media, and academia. Nazism adds strong anti-communism and antisemitism elements. Today we have all the elements of fascism with nationalism replaced by globalism and antisemitism replaced by reverse racism. Neither term properly describes what is happening. Like Nazism and fascism, there is a very strong propaganda effort to convince the people to kowtow to the authoritarianism. I guess one could call this global-fascism or gascism. If we can name it, maybe we can stop it.

  18. Dale A Albrecht says:

Old news is finally going mainstream..especially against Kerry. Secondly meeting with Iranian leaders in Swjtzerland after Trump left the Iran Nuclear Deal. Telling them to hold on. Probably because they thought at the time Mueller and company would get Trumo on the Russian hoax.

  19. A new bill proposed in California would fine retailers, including online stores, that continue to display boys and girls’ toys and clothing in separate sections.

Introduced by Democrats Evan Low and Cristina Garcia in the California state legislature, the bill would require retailers to display the “majority” of the items in unisex sections.

The legislation would also forbid signs that indicate whether the toys and clothing are intended for boys or girls.

Websites would also be made to show all the items on a single page entitled “kids,” “unisex” or “gender neutral,” something that would cause practical confusion even outside of the political intentions of the bill.

Retailers with over 500 employees would be hit with an initial $1,000 fine for non-compliance.

YES, that is hypocritical because I am pretty sure I would have been outraged if ANTIFA or BLM pulled off the same stunt. Although I think it safe to say the outcome in terms of actual damage would not be anywhere near the same.

Also notice that the media continues to ignore the fact that the leader of Proud Boys is not a lily White guy and it has many members who are POC (sorry just had to use that). How does that mesh with their efforts to cast them as “far right wing” and bunch them with the White Nationalists and Neo Nazis?

        • Ask Candace Owens, the first White Supremacist. I have no sympathy for the 535+ either. If they all thought they were right in their convictions to certify those votes, why run and hide? Stand in there and take it. They weren’t going to get killed, even by the most wacked out Proud Boy or Antifa. I’m not advocating for storming the capitol for every grievance, but this country is a their breaking point. They want to be leaders, then take the heat. They caused the whole damn thing!

When she’d be deployed she literally dropped off line. When she returned she’d say, I was away. Period. Never say where she’d been or anything. She said her personal cell and laptop were left at home. If she needed to reach out she’d use the official comment gear on her transport. Yes the army has ships.
Her mother is a retired army combat medical officer. Her uncle is retired 4 star David Petraeus and great uncle was commandant of West Point in the 70’s. She knew the rules. Loose lips sink ships and careers.

So, Durham resigns. As we used to say back on the block, back in the day, “Fuckin A”.

It is now official, the last five years never happened, it is 2015.

    • The rule of law in DC is dead. The political elite are above the law, which means that there is only two ways things can go moving forward. Accept it and become subjects or destroy it and start over. When the government needs fences and razor wire along with armed troops, they know they are doing wrong. I believe this story has been written many times before.

    • Per what I read, he resigned from his position in whatever state he worked in but he’s still special council on the Russia investigation.

        • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

I will explain why I think that is bogus. I know that all prosecutors are expected to resign when a new administration comes in. That, of course, is excepting Trump who “FIRED” them all because,” they knew he had done many bad things”. Remember those headlines?..

Now Durham was in an enviable position, he could refuse (privately) to resign until this mission is complete threatening to “go public” unless he was left alone.

The question to ask is what clout does he have left without his base of operations. Sprry to say it but Trump should have appointed a special prosecutor on this one. Perhaps Rudy or even Christie both LOVE the spotlight. Trump, a hugely smart businessman and risk taker who somehow deferred to the advice of some really rotten people.

    Yeah, right. When Pigs fly.

A new State Department policy dubbed the Khashoggi Ban will seek to hold accountable nations that target and harass dissidents and journalists, allowing it to restrict and revoke visas to any individual believed to be involved in such harassment campaigns. Those campaigns will also be documented by the department as part of its annual human rights report. More than 70 visa restrictions were imposed immediately on Friday as part of the new policy. The names were not released publicly, however, in accordance with U.S. visa policies.

See there, didn’t even get past the first paragraph before they back peddled. Now I am waiting for the sanctions against China and Russia for targeting and harassing journalists. Meanwhile the same administration is pressuring S. Korea to return funds to Iran. Cause we all know how open they are with a “free press”.

And the demographics of the neighborhood have not changed. Whites dropped a couple percent from 80% replaced by asians. Still need to afford multimillion dollar houses to live there. And the school is 1/2 the student population it was. The local kids mostly go to private schools now.

This is an interesting subject. I’m a big fan of science fiction and it seems we may be about to change that term, as far as this subject, to science fact.

  35. A White House official told Fox News that the administration does not plan to share the names of attendees of virtual White House meetings — which have become the norm amid the coronavirus pandemic.Virtual meetings will not be subject to release — in the same way that previous administrations didn’t release phone logs — but we’re planning on regularly releasing the attendee lists for in-person meetings at the White House,” the official told Politico.

Dubbed the “Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act of 2021,” the plan would impose a two-percent tax on the net value of assets of the “wealthiest” Americans. “It’s time for a wealth tax in America,” she declared.

ROTFLMAO…………….. So how long before the rich people take on “certain qualified loans” which reduce their “NET” Asset value to under the 50 million target level?

Would someone please buy this Communist Hag a one way ticket to China?

    • Does it include trusts? What about off shore assets? This is a big tax since it is a bite of the whole apple not just the growth of the apple. It will not achieve its goals so the limits will be lowered until it starts impacting retirement savings. Given how poorly they spend money, I suggest starving the beast.

    • This is so easy to beat, it is pathetic. Just distribute the wealth among family members in trust, then create new tax ID’s and transfer assets off shore to tax friendly countries that do not sell out the US. There are several that will not report to the US Treasury, unlike the Swiss. For example, some of the most popular countries that offer the financial benefit of having no income tax are Bermuda, Monaco, the Bahamas, Andorra and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) nor do they report to the US. All business’ are kept confidential. The Caymans and the British Virgin Islands are very popular and it is very easy to obtain residency permits without having to live there.

You can do it and the wealthy will do just that. They can afford the lawyers to set this stuff up….you are not going to get the wealthy. They know what they are doing. Once this happens, if it does happen, they will eventually lower the standards to hit the middle class…..

As far as assets….simply set up business accounts and move assets into them up to 49 million. Spreading assets around to avoid liabilities is something very easy to do and is done regularly.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Remember the “Luxury Tax” passed during Bush I days. New luxury cars, new boats, new planes. All the people had to do is not buy new. Boat owners just refurbished or bought a used boat of the model they were upgrading to and just redecorated etc.

I’m more than convinced this was a setup to nail Trump from top to bottom .

Their was a coil cord on the old telephone, something not introduced till the late 1950’s.

  40. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

There has been a rash of anti Asian bias attacks lately, attributed, of course, to Donald Trump’s use of the term “China Virus”.
BUT! If you take the time to see just WHO is committing these awful attacks, turns out 50% are being done by the group least likely to support Trump who represent 14% (at best) of the population.
Caution, you are going to have to work real hard to track that down. It’s suppressed.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Asians are certainly being discriminated against at major Ivy League Universities in admission procedures. One would suspect that rather than the “China” virus, the problem is envy at their success, economically and academically. In NYC Mayor DiBlasio is about to try again and stand the admission standards for Bronx High School and Brooklyn Tech on their heads again because the populations are 70% Asian, including Southeast and Southwest Asian as well as China, Taiwan and Korea.

  42. Texas open for business…100%

    • So is Mississippi, hope it’s catching.

    • Fine print leaves it to up to each business to enforce or not enforce the mask mandate. I can see trouble here. Say your chain grocer decides on no masks, but further up the line it is decided not to do business with the grocer, because of no masks. Like credit card companies and wholesalers. Or mobs creating scenes in front of no mask stores. The way Abbot worded it, there is lots of room for trouble.

      • AUSTIN, TX—Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has just lifted the mask mandate and is allowing business to return to 100% capacity. The Governor explains that in these trying times, extreme measures must be taken to stop the spread of Californians into Texas and to scare them off from ever wanting to return.

“The last thing we need is a bunch of sissies from California moving to our beautiful state of Texas and screwing everything up and turning the state blue!” said Governor Abbott during a Lubbock Chamber of Commerce event. “Too many Californians have entered our state. Too many ridiculous liberal ideas have already been proposed. This must end. It’s time to open Texas 100%.”

Governor Abbott continued, “We believe that by removing the mask requirement that all of the Californians will flee in terror, restoring our state to its former glory. As soon as they see the joy and hear the laughter of our citizens returning to normal life, they’ll be sure to pack up and leave at once.”

The Governor has strategically placed “No Masks Required” stickers on all Texas state signs warning all who enter of what lies beyond. He has expressed hope that this will send any namby-pamby who reads it back around to where they came from. “We tried buying and carrying more guns around, but somehow that didn’t work. Then we tried driving around in big, lifted, gas-guzzling trucks, but they still kept coming. But now by removing our masks for good Texas can finally start to heal.”

After seeing immediate results by reversing the mask mandate, Governor Abbott has been looking for more ways to scare off the cry-baby cowards. He has now removed all social distancing guidelines and even encouraged citizens to stop washing their hands.

I just looked up the latest on the Biden Democrat Covid Relief Bill 2021. Should be in Joe’s hands by the end of the week or early next week.

But the tidbit about triggering $36 billion or so in Medicare cuts. I guess enough seniors died this last year and project more this year to warrant a budget reduction.

    • Not to mention “Rubes who cannot find their state on a map”…….oh, the fight is on.

Btw… matter what the news says, Texas DID NOT admit persons that crossed the border with COVID. They were put on busses…..they were not allowed to enter Texas proper. As I have said before, the us govt has the National Defense Zone on the border…1.5 kilometers…..Texas controls the rest… it pertains to ICE and Border Patrol. These immigrants are being put on busses by the Feds and shipped all over the country. None are allowed in Texas because we control the off points.

      • You disappoint me, Colonel. You’ve written BF lengths of text about how mighty Texans are. I was expecting something similar in response to the Resident. I cracked up immediately when I read his comment, thinking about you and Murf.

But I did figure it was fake news, considering you’ve told us before that no illegals get in through Texas. I’m laughing at you guys, but the joke is really on the rest of us..

        • Oh… not misunderstand…..the fight is on. We know we cannot stop them in the defense zone….in the cities………..but even though the defense zone extends in the rural areas, it is still private property. However, we do not control the Feds….BUT, we do control the 3 Kilometer zone. The joke is on you because the COVID infected are on busses……..out of state. You can refuse the entry.

  53. I’m beginning to think that Covid was purposefully brought by the very people who are putting covid positive illegals on packed buses and send them North. They won’t open schools, still have their places closed and have destroyed their economies and now they are doubling down by keeping the virus alive and an ongoing crisis which they will always exploit for their political means.

The reactions to Texas opening up and letting their people act responsibly is very telling. They want to have the control because the Liberal political elite don’t think people can act responsibly without their direction. Until this is shut down, it will only get worse.

  55. AUSTIN, TX—Conservatives celebrated a major victory for the cause this week as Texas Governor Greg Abbott ended the unconstitutional mandates he himself implemented last year.

Republicans, libertarians, and other right-leaning Texans lauded the governor’s move to fight tyranny by striking down his own mandates.

“Great job, Governor Abbott — you really ended those tyrannical edicts that you yourself put in place last year!” said one Texan as he chugged a Bud Light and drove his tractor around for no good reason. “I’m proud to have you as my governor!”

“Look, whoever put these in place was a real bully!” said Governor Abbott. “I’m taking a bold stand against these tyrants by allowing businesses to fully reopen and knocking down the unconstitutional mask mandate!”

“Texas, we’ve been freed from the tyrannical dictates of 2020 me!”

At publishing time, Abbot said he was considering ordering everyone to turn in their guns, only to strike it down the next day, in order to get more positive press.

  56. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Congratulations to Speaker Pelosi and our Military government in Washington for preventing the White Supremacist militias from seizing control of the Capitol today. The cancellation of all Greyhound bus rides into Washington DC was a brilliant, spectacular and effective ploy!

  58. I’m checking into an insane asylum, it has to be saner on the inside.

  60. The Texas-based chain has confirmed that its current health and safety policies, which include face coverings for employees and half-capacity dining rooms, will remain in place despite Texas Gov. Greg Abbott rescinding the statewide mask mandate and reopening businesses at 100% capacity as of March 10.

Do not be fooled by this…last year the Whataburger franchise was sold to people in Chicago.

  61. Ya know, it is probably good for Mathius’ health that he bolted. I miss him but there is no way…none….that he can defend Biden and the Dems…..

” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has installed National Guard forces as her personal “military props” and further pointed to the mainstream media’s substantive coverage — especially Thursday — of the supposed importance of unscalable fencing surrounding the People’s House.”

  62. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has faced political pressure and angry constituents over her state’s mask order during the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the 76-year-old governor of the deeply red state has resisted calls to drop the requirement as Republican governors across the South either shunned mask mandates altogether or lifted them in late winter.

“Maybe they don’t have access to the same information I have. We want to be abundantly clear and abundantly safe before we drop the mask mandate,” Ivey said when asked about fellow Republicans — including the Alabama Senate and the lieutenant governor — who urged her to end the order.

Perhaps the information that is given to her comes from………………………Washington?

    • The level of political insanity has definitely increased over the course of the last year. By any chance are the masks the root cause of this?

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Problem is a whole lot of 76 year olds out there are terrified of the disease. This governor and beloved President too.

On another note I understand that Cuomo is up for another award sponsored by the Medicare/Medicaid cost savings alliance. (MMCSA)

  63. NOTE: Texas National Guard has activated another 1500 combat troops to patrol the border. We have now changed the “summer camps” from Fort Hood to the Texas border. Maneuvers are now being conducted along the border at the 3 Km line in the city areas and directly on the border on private border ranch land. The ranchers love us because we can protect their property while doing theses maneuvers. We are employing armored units, drones, attack helicopters and infantry. All complete with night vision, GSR (ground radar surveillance units) and………………..get ready for it…………..LIVE AMMUNITION. So at any given time on the border, there are 5,000 troops patrolling. AND, we have arrest and detainment capability.

This will piss off the coyotes and cartels…..but it will create more violence.

    • And it is a damned shame that we have to do this because our government will not.

    • I might have done this already but allow me to explain how open borders will not work and how this is a huge…no make that a H>>>U>>>G>>>E>>>money making scheme.

look at a map……draw a line at the river. To cross the river, it costs roughly $5,000… cross the Southern Mexico border from Guatemala, it costs $2,000. Now.,,,shade an area that is three miles wide from the US border going south…this is called no man’s land or Mad MAX Territory……to cross this area costs $200 per head…to get to the border to pay $5,000. Now, enter the children which are “sold” to the cartels, especially the girls and the women. The girls (it does not matter the age) and the women are put into brothels and sex trades to pay their crossing fees and the males are made into mules (drug runners) pay the crossing fees.

If you open the borders, Mad Max Fees rise to $5,500. This all goes to the cartels and Mexican Officials. The current estimate, today, is that the Cartels are raking in about 14 million dollars per day….which includes human trafficking and drugs.

Now, it is my opinion, that anyone who supports this administration, is a part of this. They are guilty of child trafficking and drug running and are part of the criminal activity.

Just in my area alone……From Del Rio to Presidio, we find an average of 14 bodies each month that have died from exposure, to snake bite, to falling off cliffs, to gunshots…… is worse in Arizona (not reported) and California (not reported)……not so bad in New Mexico because to cross the border there puts you directly into the White Sands Missile range.

      It is serious down here.

    • The Treehouse has an article up about immigration too. It goes into the money end of it. Who benefits including left, right, and even religious groups.

    • Just A Citizen says:

If Texas had balls as big as it claims it would patrol within the 3 K zone, and arrest anyone they find there ILLEGALLY.

The Feds claim of sovereignty over immigration does not give them claim to control the land which they do not own.

      • No sir, they do not…however, remember that I am referencing the National Defense Zone….not the border per se’. Since it is a Defense Zone for National Defense, they can have the say if they couch it in National Defense Terminology…..which they do.

By the way, remember that the 3k zone only applies to the municipalities and we cannot take jurisdiction there with guard troops. Outside the municipalities , we are all the way on the river.

Do not question the size of our Cajones………I assure you, we are up to the task. BTW, do you North Westerners even have any?

        • Just A Citizen says:

What, Borders? Yes we have Borders. Although we are suffering the same migration problems as you. They just come from a different part of Mexico….heh, heh, heh!

        • Just A Citizen says:

Why can’t you put YOUR own guard troops in a Municipality? Isn’t that a State Law issue ONLY?

  69. Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Well they certainly had a lot of cojones to do this in teh belly of teh beast. Only one “weapon” person was identified and it was NOT a Trumpster. The weapon, a Hammer. Guess they took that old folk song to heart. Written by an old Commie!

    • Finally…it is called Operation Lone Star

      • U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials told McAllen’s mayor last month that family units — undocumented migrants traveling with children who cross into South Texas — were now being paroled into the United States as they awaited their asylum proceedings. This is what occurred during previous border security apprehensions known as “catch and release,” when migrants were allowed to remain in the United States during their immigration proceedings however many years that may take.

“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” Abbott said in a statement. “Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans.”

The newly launched operation will include Texas DPS with the Texas National Guard and will deploy air, ground, marine and tactical border security assets

To the disbelievers…..told ya we were going to play hardball…..just could not give you details until it was announced…this is an all out blitz. T Ray….get ready….they are headed towards California and Arizona.

        • Be vary aware…..this is being paid for with Texas funds and no federal troops involved. Remember the 3 km line I told you about in the 6 main urban areas…..Brownsville, McAllen, Laredo, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and El Paso. This comprises 3% of the Texas Border……the rest of the Texas border, 97%, is privately held and the ranchers, 100% of them, are behind this as well…so that means we patrol the river in the privately held areas. In addition, we have gunboats, operated by the Department of Public Safety, directly on the river.

We are going to lock Texas down as much as we can……Finally going to happen. The planning for this has been 1.5 years in the making. While I do not get to get my boots muddy, I am in the planning and tactical stage of this………………….WOO HOO!!!

      • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

In the very late 1960’s, when I first started working for NY City government I had clients pouring in to my office all day looking for emergency housing. Those people were predominantly southern black families, mostly headed by women. Be they from Georgia, Alabama, or the Carolina’s, they told the very same story. When applying for benefits down South, they were encouraged to immigrate to Northern Cities. If my memory does not fail me, they were offered the choice of a Greyhound ticket (one way) to NY. MA or Chicago.

People do not of course remember it but NYC’s welfare population went from 500,000 to 1,500,000 in the eight years of the Lindsay Administration ’66-74. It returned to 500,000 from the million and a half in the eight years of the Guilliani administration. ’94-02.

I would urge your governor Abbott to make the same offer and make it very public. Those who encouraged and abet this should be the ones to benefit from all that new blood. After all the bullshit NY has gone through in the past ten years to clean up the MS-13 mess, mostly in Nassau and Suffolk counties, we have to do it all over in spades?

      • Operation Lone Star? Is that the best that Texans can do in naming an operation?

        • Yup and in case you missed the significance of the two announcements that Abbott made…

The announcement of no state mandates came on Texas Independence Day and the announcement of the beginning of Operation Lone Star came on the day the Alamo fell. So, REMEMBER THE ALAMO while we close the border.

Of course, this will be called racist.

  70. Damn…Abbott and Biden in a cussing contest…….Biden says Texas cannot do Operation Lone Star and Abbott says….stop us.

  71. WASHINGTON, D.C.—Joe Biden has come to the defense of Pepe Le Pew after liberals wanted to cancel him, with the president saying he was “always my favorite character, a real stand-up guy.”

Biden strongly condemned attempts to censor the Looney Tunes character, saying he doesn’t even understand what the issue with Pepe is.

“The way Pepe pursues women and sniffs them and hugs them — man, he’s the best,” Biden said. “I don’t know why people are trying to cancel him. Pepe is an upstanding example of how men should treat women. Mmmm, women. I learned a lot from Pepe. Back in my day, the Looney Tunes only came on in black and white. We only got one channel, you know, and mom and dad would make me stand there and hold up two metal spoons to get the channel in. I’d put aluminum foil on my head and stand there and finally, we’d get to see those funny little cartoons.”

Pepe Le Pew quickly distanced himself from Biden after the president’s statements, saying he doesn’t want to be associated with a creepy old man like Joe.

I have always like TR since he was somebody that stirred the pot similar to Trump. We need that on occasion. Twitter has filed a lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, claiming the Republican used his office to retaliate against it for banning the account of former President Donald Trump following the riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Days after the deadly January insurrection, Paxton announced an investigation into Twitter and four other major technology companies for what he called “the seemingly coordinated de-platforming of the President.” The attorney general’s office demanded that the companies produce a variety of records related to their content moderation policies and troves of internal communications.

Twitter responded Monday with a federal lawsuit alleging Paxton is seeking to punish it for taking Trump’s account offline — a decision the social media company says is protected free speech. It asks a judge to declare the decision to be under the ambit of the First Amendment and to, in essence, halt Paxton’s investigation.

Twitter’s counterpunch comes as states, in addition to federal lawmakers and governments outside the U.S., are cracking down on tech companies they see as having amassed too much power in the past decade. This includes antitrust and anti-monopoly regulation, internet privacy laws as well as attempts to regulate how platforms like Twitter, Facebook and others moderate their sites.

  75. Individuals making $80,000 a year or more and couples making $160,000 a year, or higher, no longer qualify for the checks, meaning that anyone earning between $80,000 and $100,000 (and couples earning between $160,000 and $200,000) are newly excluded from a partial check under the legislation. The payments will likely be based on the income you reported in your 2020 tax return, but if you haven’t filed it yet, the government will use your 2019 return to calculate how much you’re owed — making the timing of filing a 2020 return extra important this year.

Hmmm…I may be wrong, but isn’t this a form of discrimination?

    • That would be wrong especially for individuals like me who went from fully employed in 2019 to retired in 2020 or others that lost jobs in 2020.

        • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

I hope that you are right. This outrageous series of power grabs should lead to some serious lawsuiting and some serious “nullification” by the states, all citing their constitutional rights.

For too many years now both the State legislatures and Federal legislature have been quite willing to “lie down” and play dead letting someone else do the work. What we have going on now is the end result. January 21st’s torrent of EO’s was “Caesar crossing the Rubicon” for this Republic. We need a Brutus and Cassus Longinius now who do NOT have to go to any extreme other than DO THEIR DAMNED JOBS! Rem,ember what Nancy told us, “Just Say No”.

Keep getting back to Trump’s disgust at having to use EO’s because Ryan and Turkey neck would not do their jobs.

          • During Trump’s admin, several cities and states passed sanctuary laws basically flouting federal law. Not much was done to counter the move. Now with the shoe on the other foot, if the Rs ignore HR1 and pass there own election rules counter to it, what will happen. My guess, is they will be hit with a ton of bricks. Might even have the NG called out to enforce the Federal rules. With the fence and NG in DC we already see a D party that will not tolerate disagreement.

    “Important Vaccine Announcement”

This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group.

A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home.
When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalized.

He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses.
