Who’s Really Running Things?

Comments

  1. In less than 2 months, his Presidency is a disaster.

    • Just A Citizen says:

WELL, I guess that would depend on your perspective now, wouldn’t it.

      • Quite true! I’m gonna guess Biden will be retired before 2021. I would like to guess that he will resign instead of having the embarrassment of a 14th Amendment removal.

      • Not if one looks at the actual consequences of his actions. They are clearly a disaster.

  2. The standard response is you get what you vote for but in this case it is not true.

    • Ain’t that the truth. They convinced people to vote for Biden in the primary because he was a moderate. Yet, Biden isn’t in control, he’s not even allowed to speak. His aids get to decide when the friggin President can talk. That’s a problem.

  3. WASHINGTON D.C.—In an extraordinary act of bravery and heroism, a Secret Service agent dove in front of Biden to block a question from a pesky reporter.

As Biden slowly stepped out of his vehicle, a nosy reporter rudely attempted to ask him intrusive questions about things that were none of her business.

“Nooooooooooo!” said agent James Carter as the CBS reporter raised her hand to ask a completely inappropriate question– possibly about the Middle East, or executive orders. Carter ran up to the president, arms outstretched, and dove through the air to shield the president from the incoming query.

“It’s like everything went into slow motion,” said Agent Carter. “My training kicked in and I leapt into action. I’m just happy I was able to make a difference.”

Carter took the entire force of the blow from the incoming question before collapsing to the ground.

“Hey– lookie there, they fly now!” said President Biden. “Hey there young man, would you mind not flying in front of me while I exit my vehicle? I have to get to the Oval Office in time for Matlock.”

The Secret Service agent sustained minor injuries but is grateful to have saved the president from a reporter’s unwelcome question.

“Just doing my job,” he said.

  4. Dateline Washington, D.C. March 10. 2021: Rumors leaked by an unnamed high official in the WH that apparitions of Edith Wilson have been seen in the halls of the venerated old house. She was issuing orders and decrees and instructing the staff on how to run the WH and the country. This is a woman of great accomplishments, one experienced in running a leaderless country from behind the scenes. She rules with great dignity and compassion but also with a iron will. The country is in good hands to have someone at the helm who is knowledgeable in the machinations of government.

A very interesting hypotheses is contained within this article. You should read it. Then maybe discuss the idea of how the two major sides differ.

    https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2021/03/08/meghan-markle-oprah-interview-prince-harry-american-conservatives-liberals-474407

Note: This article is not one of those obnoxious things like some in the press are spreading about how questioning the two very rich spoiled Millennials is just supporting racism.

    • When the Author said that Conservatives want the status quo and liberals want radical change, I don’t think he/she knows a damn thing about what conservatives think.

With that said, the Left and Right have been pushed further and further apart right before our eyes and for a long time. It’s into hatred land, but still has a long way to go. When that moment comes, we will all know it.

Markle interview- I don’t care two shits about this subject. I don’t follow the English Crown nonsense. I think that she said something about someones being racist. What’s new, according to Liberals all white people are racist. She’s an attention monger.

    • “conservatives would tend to attribute responsibility for negative outcomes to the individual rather than to the system.”

I disagree with some of his remarks but I agree wholeheartedly with the above statement.

      • Just A Citizen says:

And that was the key hypothesis to which I was referring. It does explain many of the situations or positions we seem to see come from the left.

  7. https://harbingersdaily.com/scotus-sides-with-student-in-free-speech-case/

This ruling may be really huge, despite not getting much media time.

    • “After receiving the permit, he was then told by campus police that he could not share his faith even in a speech zone, because doing so violated a campus ban on “disturb[ing] the peace and/or comfort of person(s).”

This speaks for itself, there is no free speech, in their supposed “free speech zones”

      • Yep and SCOTUS opened up the door for monetary damages for the person or persons whose Rights have been violated.

        • Just A Citizen says:

That is NOT what they did. They maintained an open door for challenges where NO MONITARY damage can be or is claimed.

          • Dang, had to re-read the article.Totally missed the word nominal. Wonder why they chose to belittle the importance of free speech.

          • “It is undisputed that Uzuegbunam experienced a completed violation of his constitutional rights when respondents enforced their speech policies against him,” Thomas wrote. “Because ‘every violation [of a right] imports damage,’ nominal damages can redress Uzuegbunam’s injury even if he cannot or chooses not to quantify that harm in economic terms.”

I’m pretty that this is what means monitary damage. Even if nominal, it’s a step in the right direction.

My thought: When you seem to call for TOTAL Political War you fail to acknowledge history and you call for destruction of the thing you claim you want saved. You cannot wage Total Political War until you have enough people on your side to make a real difference. And therein lies the problem.

    https://redstate.com/bonchie/2021/03/11/20-republicans-vote-to-confirm-merrick-garland-because-the-gop-is-worthless-n341493

    • I’m missing your point as it relates to present times?

      • Just A Citizen says:

It applies for all times. Total Political War ends in Civil War. When one undermines traditions for the sake of said war one only escalates the division.

Contrary to populist beliefs, not all the Dems have been on board with the complete shutdown or total war idea in the Senate. But Mr. Bonchie here is calling for R’s to vote in block against nominations just because they are offered up by Democrats. And he calls for this while the R’s are holding a LOSING HAND.

        • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

I get your point but disagree…….Just which democrats are NOT on board. The recent votes all seem to be, if not 100% then 99.5%. My side routinely surrenders 40% every time.

People who went to their deaths following Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party did so because they perceived him as strong. Our people went to their deaths following FDR because they perceived him as strong. The French people went nowhere because they perceived their leaders as WEAK.

There is nothing in the world that says that being strong, marching to a common tune is necessarily bad. It can be used for bad purpose but as in the US WW2 example, it can also be used for good.

I’ve always had a problem with Goldwater’s, “I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!” speech. It is only within the past ten years or so that I have come to understand it and more or less embrace it.

Davy Crockett once said, “Be sure you are right, then go ahead”. This has to be a colliery to Goldwater’s comment. It requires much humility, honesty and tremendous introspection to define the “right”. All possibilities must be explored. As distasteful as it may be, you do have to play devil’s advocate for everything you propose and assure yourself that you have achieved your decision without being “self serving”. Then, as Crockett says, “go ahead”.

The Republican side will never achieve majority status unless and until it demonstrates strength of will and purpose which it has not. There is also no denying that along the way, the good” side if you will, will pick up bad followers. people who see something in the good movement that they feel they can either misidentify with or misuse for their own ends. There is no way to deny that if we supported an end to racial quotas at Harvard for example that we are doing it because we believe all men and women should have a level playing field. There are actual racists who will jump on board precisely because in their fetid swamp brains they see no minorities as being capable of achieving Harvard without quotas therefore they “support” us. Allowing ourselves to be defined by them or being afraid to be defined by them is what is absurd. You ignore them and point out your opposition has exactly the same loonies following them. You repeat this till you are blue in the face.

I have been out of sorts with the left since 1968 and have become “obnoxious and disliked” exactly because I do not see any leftist having anything in common with the original purpose of this country. “They” compromise like Stalin did….. We will take 50% of everything. Then a few years later, we will take 50% of your 50%. Then another period goes by where they ask you for 50% of your 25% and so on until, you are where we ae now with 6.423% of what you had in 1968. I Do NOT like it at all. Trump’s success and our challenge is to recognize that he stripped away their civilized veneer and we now see the corrupted flesh and moldy bones he exposed…..our job, bury them. .

  12. Sometimes I wonder:

Are all these accusations against Cuomo being done to protect him from charges stemming from the Nursing home deaths? If he resigns, Lt Gov takes over and pardons Cuomo for anything he may have done while governor. Although this may not stop Federal charges, but I doubt the Feds will investigate.

    • Hard to say. From my reading, I’m coming to the conclusion that a lot of people think he’s a very powerful ass . But right now he’s weak, so it’s a safe time to take him down.

    • A war with China will be devastating. It may start with biowarfare but it will be quickly followed by and EMP strike and a wipe out of our satellites. Our only hope would be a preemptive strike on them. An EMP pulse could take out every diode and transistor in the country. It only takes one to fail in you PC to make it inoperable. Modern cars would not run, no communications, no electricity, no refrigeration…. Only older vehicles would run if you could get fuel. There would be mass starvation.

A land war in continental China is unthinkable, too much territory and too many people. Logistically, we would be hard pressed to stop China from taking Taiwan without the aid of S. Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Australia.

    • Just A Citizen says:

Of course it will. “The system worked” will be the mantra. Along with “well it didn’t make a difference anyway”.

Let me be clear. The Democratic Party STOLE this last POTUS election. They probably STOLE some other races as well, especially Georgia.

But Stealing and Fraud are not the same thing. The latter is part of the former but the former can be done within the rules which are to flexible or not enforced.

      • That last paragraph is very disheartening. They advertise all the ways they cheated and it just doesn’t matter. One would think the people would care.

  14. Has anyone been watching what is going on in Maricopa Co. between the BOS and the state senate? Apparently per the video I watched last night, the courts ordered the BOS to turn over the ballots to the senate, so they loaded them on trucks to ship them to the senate. The senate only wanted access to the vaults and not physical possession so the ballots ended up on unsecured trucks. At the same time one member of the BOS had two barns burn down. Also a citizen was snooping around and found a dumpster of garbage bags containing shredded 2020 ballots. I do not know how true all of this is but if true, we need some more pine pitch and feathers.

  15. Hello Sufaites…sorry..been away due to several things but most importantly an emergency stint in the hospital for some issues where I was violently ill and spiked a pretty good fever for an old coot…..tested COVID negative twice in the hospital……they found something suspicious on my pancreas on a CT scan and wanted an MRI on the suspected area. They tried to load me into an MRI (the torpedo tube kind)…that did not sit well with me.I could not hold it together (triggered some PTSD thoughts of crawling through tunnels) …..so they said, no worries, we will dope you up and try again…..NOPE…..that did not work either……………since the hospital only had the closed systems, I have to now find an open MRI somewhere and try that. I am told that they cannot knock you out to do an MRI because you have to respond to verbal command.

So, I am feeling better and keeping food down (changed my diet some) and getting back to my mean self. I did notice this morning, that while I was laid up, ya’ll let that so called relief bill get passed and a gun control bill get passed……what the hell? I have enough problems helping Abbott control our borders and ya’ll can’t stop a simple relief bill and gun control proposal? Geeeez……..

I will catch up on everything I have missed the last few days…….be back at ya.

    • Get well Colonel!! Watching whats going on in DC, I sit here in disgust. They don’t listen to any of us. Maybe I can get Trump to fund my Presidential run in 2024 😀

    • I too, am glad you’re getting better. Hope you get to go home soon. Praying for a quick recovery.

  16. How many woman must accuse Cuomo of improper acts before he is labeled a sexual predator?

For now, how about a little due process, SUFA style.

If all the women testify under oath that their accusations are factual and Cuomo denies all of it, how would you vote, guilt or not guilty? What say you SUFA jurors?

    • We should strike while the pine pitch is hot.

    • ALBANY, NY—Governor Cuomo invited his accusers to come forward and gather in a New York nursing home today, saying he wants to face anyone who has allegations against him and make sure they are heard and “handled appropriately.”

“Please, if you have allegations against me, come forward and meet me in this nursing home, where I can be sure you are… taken care of,” Governor Cuomo said at a press conference today held at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. “We have many competent people and lots of vacant beds for you to fill while you tell your story.”

“All I ask is that you come forward as soon as possible. I would hate if anything were to happen to you before you got the chance to tell your truth,” he said. “Sunny Acres is the place to be — and there’s always plenty of free parking!”

Cuomo then gave reporters a tour of the entirely vacant nursing home, showing them the serene, abandoned shuffleboard courts, the immaculate cafeteria, and the quiet duck pond, without a living soul in sight. “As you can see, this is the ideal locale for bringing the many thousands of potential accusers and finding out what they have to say. They’ll be safe here — eternally safe.”

At publishing time, Governor Cuomo had said that if any accusers didn’t feel comfortable meeting him at the nursing home, they were more than welcome to meet him down by the docks at midnight.

I am throwing the BS Flag on this story. My God, they couldn’t even keep the premise straight from the intro to the first paragraph. They claim the RATE is different. Then they admit it is the valuations which cause the problem. Even their hypothetical is BS because valuations do take into account any building permits or changes in profiles, as seen from the street or Google Maps. LYING LIARS.

    https://thehill.com/changing-america/respect/poverty/543000-huge-new-study-shows-homes-in-poor-areas-are-taxed-at-twice

    • It’s just another “everything is racist” article. Our journalists suck.

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Doing a bit of research the other day. A two family in a so-so predominantly minority neighborhood in Brooklyn is on the market for $ 950,000. It is a 30 X 100 lot and across the street from a 100 unit apartment house. The taxes are $ 4,300. Here by me, in a much better but not outstanding neighborhood, predominantly white, just as far from Midtown Manhattan a similar house on a two to three times bigger lot would sell for $ 650,000 with annual taxes of $ 15,000. Somebody tell me who is being cheated, please.

    • In CA valuations are based on the sale price of the home and thereafter can only go up at a fixed rate (1.25%/yr). If you apply for permits, this may raise the valuation. I do not apply for permits unless I am changing the size or outside of the home. As far as I am concerned, roofs wear out and need periodic replacement as does siding and windows. However, you should be able to repair your home to the original condition w/o increasing the valuation since the tax collector does not depreciate such things.

When we moved to CA, the RE agent showed us a house that needed siding and a roof. She asked if the owner should repair it. I advised no since taxes were based on the sale price which would be discounted for the condition. The new owner would then need to do the repairs.

15 yrs ago, to teach my boys they could tackle a project much bigger than themselves, we built a 28×48 gambrel barn with a full loft. I did apply for a permit but got hit with all these stupid regulations. I had to have the plans signed by an engineer despite the fact that I over-designed the entire structure. It is not the first barn that I have build. After wasting money on 2 engineers who would not approve the design as drawn, I went to the building department again. They asked if it was an ag building. $20, no inspections no hassles, out the door with the permit.

      • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Surprisingly in NJ with a single family you can draw the plans yourself and do teh work. As long as teh town plan examiner agrees that it won’t fall down you can go ahead after signing an affadavit taking on full responsibility. Across the river in NYC ….. Not so much!

  19. So, you’ve just been laid off as a journalist. Sad. Not good! But you need to buck up, because there are a lot of great career choices for you that can leverage your unique skills as a reporter and a destroyer of people’s lives.

Try your hand at one of these seven trades, and you’re sure to land on your feet in no time:

    1. A programmer. We’re absolutely not telling you to learn to code, because that would be hate speech. But we might be suggesting you acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to develop and program software for computers and other electronic devices. MAYBE.

    2. Learn to build solar panels. Sucks that your job got cut. But look at it as a positive: you can just pivot to building solar panels. Always gotta look on the bright side.

    3. Official spokesperson for the Chinese government. You’ve got lots of experience in this already! China is probably hiring.

    4. An essential worker. Do something actually essential for society, like driving for UberEats or DoorDash. You’ll contribute a lot more to society than ever before!

    5. Just cut out the middle man and go mob people in their homes directly. You have a lot of experience doxxing people in hopes of riling up a mob to take them down. Why not get your hands dirty and just go attack people in their homes yourself? Cut out the middle man!

    6. Take a gap year and search through old tweets for old time’s sake. You don’t need to jump right into a new career. Take your severance pay and spend a year looking for bad tweets people posted a decade ago just for old time’s sake.

    7. Try your hand at writing hilarious satire. Your pieces in HuffPo already read like satire — why not just keep writing the exact same kind of pieces but label them as satire? As a parody of terrible woke journalism, it just might work!

Good luck — it can be brutal out there!

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Now, the other day I was listening to someone on the radio, whose name escapes me either because of age or because lately I have sunk myself in so much information and data that I can remember the concepts but not the source. . He brought up something I have been meaning to research the pollution equivalent between let us say a 1960 Chevy Impala and a 2021 model. The number he threw out was, the current version is 99% less polluting than its 60 year old predecessor. While I am sure that the number is substantial That figure astounded me. Since you seem to be our resident expert on such things, what say you?

By the way, this has to do with the whole brou-ha-ha over electric vehicles. That leads to another question. Since I have seen these electric charging stations pop up in Delaware and Maryland at rest stops. Who pays and what do they pay?

      • You might regret you asked.

A 60 Impala would probably have 283 or 327 V8 with a 2 bbl carb and an auto transmission. Max mileage would be 15 mpg. A 2021 Impala most likely would have a 3.6L (220 cid) injected, computor controlled engine with a 4 speed auto tranny and will get mid 20’s mpg. It will also have CAT and all the sensor to optimize fuel and emissions performance. The 1960 Impala will require periodic tuning and carb adjustments to stay at peak performance while the 2021 is virtually maintenance free. Now older carburated cars run fairly clean when in tune but degrade significantly from that point. But clean for a 1960 is no where near as clean as a modern engine as it will have significant NOx, CO, and hydrocarbon emissions. 1960 era gasoline is also much dirtier containing benzene, tetra-ethyl lead, sulfur, olefins and light ends.

Since 1960 we have gone through several EPA required improvement cycles in fuel efficiency and emissions. If we assume they followed the 80-20 rule and decreased the emissions by 80% at each cycle that would leave us at 80% + 16% + 3.2% or 99.2% reductions from the original state. I am not sure we have achieved that much since it is not possible to eliminate all the emissions. Certainly CO and hydrocarbons can be significantly reduced in the CAT. NOx is more dependent on the combustion temperature. High temperatures can generate more NOx due to interactions in the engine with the N2 in the air. SOx is best controlled by the quality of the gasoline.

Gasoline was reformulated in 1995 to reduce benzene and olefin content and to reduce the vapor pressure (butane and pentane content). Sulfur was reduced to 30 ppm. In the mid 2000’s sulfur was again reduced to 3 ppm. In 1995, they also added oxygenates to the fuel in the form of methyl tertiary butyl ether which was eventually replaced by ethanol. This was to add oxygen to the fuel mixture and thus improve the emissions of older cars. It is not needed for modern cars.

The bottom line is yes, emissions have been significantly reduced. Further reductions will be very expensive for very little benefit.

Now to the electrics. As I understand it there are 5 different plug and electrical standards for recharging electrics. Some can be converted but they are not universal. The EU has standardized but we have not. Charging must be done with dc power at the proper voltage. Most cars come with an internal power converter but due to amperage restrictions and costs, they can only slow charge the vehicle thus are OK for overnight garage charges but not rapid charging on road trips. The external rapid chargers cost upwards of $50K plus installation and real estate costs. Charging rates depend on the battery size and fill. 50% charge can be achieved in about 15 min at a rapid charge station. Full charge will take much longer. Assuming 30 min/car, that means a single charger can only handle 48 cars/day. I have never used one but I would think most commercial chargers use a credit card like gas pumps do now. Private corporation and government parking lot chargers may be payed by the employer or by the government (you and me). I know in CA there is no road tax on fuel for EVs. Also no one is addressing the grid upgrades that will be required as we go full electric in the future. We also do not know where all the lithium and rare earths will come from for the batteries or what to do with them when worn out.

I was just thinking that the nation should go back the the vice president being the #2 vote getter in the general presidential election. And not a head bobbing 100% in agreement with the chief executive. Kamala Harris barely even registered in the Democrat primaries yet shes the next president if Biden goes. At least Bernie the #2 primary vote getter has been consistent his entire political career.

Wouldnt it be lively if Trump was VP

  28. Cave Idus Martias

  29. The new buzz words from the Dems…………..Global Minimum Tax

    • The $1.9T Covid Relief Bill includes money to bail out blue states who lost revenue because of the shutdowns. CA will get a big piece. But CA’s tax revenues are up not down. We had a surplus. So this is a big windfall for CA. Thanks red states. Not only that, we got money for the San Jose BART extension which will take years to build. We are still building the train to nowhere in the flat central valley. It has been going on for a decade a with still no track laid and not all the land purchased. Maher is right, we can’t do anything in this country any more.

There’s more to this, like how he was arrested because he had “talked” to other Oath Keepers. So far, I haven’t read that he was in the Capital Jan 6th.

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

      he will probably disappear!

    • I recall reading about the oath keepers over 30 years ago. I never considered them to be white supremacists or anything other than an organization to support the constitution. I am glad to see this article tries to correct that misconception.

  31. So, the Federal Government tries to bypass Governor Abbott. They go to the City of Dallas and rent the entire convention center for 90 days to house 3,000 immigrant children….all male between the ages of 12 and 16. The City of Dallas, seeing dollar signs, capitulates and gives in…money, of course, speaks.

The Catholic Diocese of Texas also capitulates, for huge sums of money, and agrees to house immigrant children.

Up steps Governor Abbott and says not so fast. He cannot stop the City of Dallas from renting its facilities but he can and will send in State auditors to finger print and register the immigrants and “ride herd” until they are shipped out of Texas. The Federal Government has, in fact, created a prison and is putting children in “jail, so to speak, under the disguise of humanitarian reasons.

This is not going over well and if the Democrats hoped to turn Texas BLUE….they just took a huge step backwards. Even the black community hates this.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

Several years ago in NY the Catholic church got very political. The State said keep it up and your tax exempt status WILL be revoked.

  32. Question. Is it just me or does everyone’s SUFA page look different? My computer updated and now everything looks plain and boxy. White background. I don’t like it. If its just me, any ideas on how I can go back to how it was? Windows 10 on a HP laptop.

  33. Jen Psaki says the border issues with the kids are Trump’s fault. They really do think we are stupid as hell and anyone who believes that really is stupid as hell.

  34. Just A Citizen says:

The answer to the questions raised in this article are largely tied to the very point Mathius made before the election. Well two points actually.

    1. He said the anger against Trump among his cohorts was huge and they were motivated to vote for Biden.

    2. The impact of the massive mail in voting. And that most mail in votes go to the Dems traditionally.

I still find it almost impossible to believe that millions voted primarily for Biden with the mail in ballots and that those millions so greatly exceeded all past registration and population increases. Remember, the total vote count is close to the total number of “working” Americans. I am still convinced they stole it fair and square. Now it is up to the States to fight off the Democratic Party’s effort to make this “fair and square” a permanent thing.

    https://redstate.com/stu-in-sd/2021/03/16/new-report-shows-significant-election-irregularities-in-many-states-n343947

    • The huge increase in CA registrations despite people leaving the state is due to a change in the registration process. We have motor voter here. Previously it was an opt in. Now it is opt out. Add to that many people had to go to the DMV to get the newer secure licenses. We also issue licenses to “non-citizens” independent of their immigration status. I am not sure exactly how this is handled but when I renewed my wife’s ID card the voter registration questions were all voluntary. With the SEIU running DMV, and citizenship based on the honor system, I suspect there are thousands if not a million or more illegals registered to vote in CA.

There is no question the media lied about Trump for all 4 years and used vile language in the process. This kind of thing is infectious unless people are willing to go beyond just the headlines and think for themselves. So I get there was a lot of anger against Trump. But Trump’s policies were working. He substantially increased his vote totals over 2016. It is unbelievable to me that Biden legitimately out polled Trump by several million votes.

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

That is the issue isn’t it? While hundreds of thousands did and still believe that Vlad Putin was in the voting booth with them in ’16, millions, tens of millions firmly believe, with a hell of a lot more circumstantial evidence, their ballots were either miscounted, discarded or just worthless due to the “false” votes.

    • CA also mailed ballots out to all registered voters. My ballot had no serial number and no visible watermark. We also have ballot harvesting in this state.

If you go back to the house races in 2018 in CA, we saw the same late surge in mailing ballots for Ds. In several house races in traditionally republican areas, the R was ahead on election night but lost days later. I think this was a trial run.

Has anyone studied the undervote, i.e., the difference between the presidential race and the house and senate races. It is strange that Trump had such long coattails and flipped several house seats but still lost the presidential race.

  35. Happy St. Patrick’s day. My gg-grandmother was Irish so I do have links the Emerald Isle. That goes along with the Scots, Welsh, German, Norwegian, Danish and Indian and thus thoroughly American.

    • Yes, we are a mixed breed…Scots-Irish on one side and Welsh on the other…..with a deceased grandmother that was French heritage.

Since my family settled Texas in 1839, and we have a relative that fought with General Houston at San Jacinto defeating Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, I like to think that I am Texan….other than the natives that were here first. Our history goes back to when Fort Worth was just that….a fort with a trading settlement. We have been here ever since. I am guessing that since I have spent so much time in the military, it stems from my heritage…our family fought in the Texas Independence, the Civil War, the Comanche Wars, World War 1 and World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Bosnia, and Afghanistan so I guess that I did not have a chance. But, my son and daughter have missed the military stints and it has ended with me….unless we have to fight China (which just might happen). Since my son is now 48, he will probably miss the military service side….and that is good.

So, Happy St Pat’s Day to all.

      • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Maybe it is just me but my family were Johnny come lately’s arriving in 1905. However from the day I was old enough to understand “American” I have felt the blood of those who were here a lot earlier surge through my veins.

We might not have been at Yorktown or on the decks of the Constitution, marched on Mexico City or at Gettysburg nor San Juan Hill but the feeling and pride are there.

Perhaps I just had good teachers. Wish kids today did.

        • Yes, you did not need to do all of that to have the pride and the feelings….it is what we, as Americans, are…..I do not care about Europe or their feelings nor China nor anyone else. I am America first….full stop. Let the world catch us.

          • America is an attitude…..we owe no one anything….and those that think we do…..need not be here. That may be callous and archaic thinking but it is what our forefathers did. They set the stage…..

Back in the 1960’s when I was in High School, I proposed that there would be NEW John Wayne movies made long after his death. Anybody doubt that now?

Personally I recommend a re-make of “Liberty Valence” first superimposing the 1939 “Stagecoach” Duke face over the old man of 1962. Ditto with ’39’s Jimmy Stewart “Mr. Smith goes to Washington’s” face.

Absolutely loved the movie when I was 15 but thought they were way old to make it believable.

        • Dale A Albrecht says:

Mr Smith Goes to Washington does not need to be remade. It’s as relevant today as the day it was filmed. Corruption and graft at the highest levels of government.

Another film “A Mortal Storm” being the 1st anti nazi film made by the major studios. College campuses are a clone of those days.

          • The Mortal Storm was a good film and should be watched by the younger generation although I think they would just dismiss the similarities to today. The film got MGM banned (censored) in Germany. Another point that should be clearly made to the youngsters.

      • Did some digging. This walk was taken by Trump many times, prior to getting on Marine One for a trip. BUT, what is missing in the Biden video is the firetruck that is ALWAYS parked on that road behind Trump. In conclusion, the video is a fake.

  37. Teachers, parents and other members of a private Facebook group in Loudoun County, Virginia have been accused of compiling a list of names of district parents who oppose “critical race theory” and other progressive, raced-based classroom programs, according to the director of a local Republican political action committee.

Members of a Facebook group called the “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County” have been accused of compiling a list of outspoken conservatives in order to track, hack and “doxx” them – or even intimidate them into self-censorship.

The group also contains teachers, school board members, elected officials and other “prominent members of the left-wing elite in Loudoun County,
In one post, a group member shared “a call for volunteers” to combat anti-critical race theory advocates and websites. She asked for volunteers to help “gather information” on critics of the controversial race-based education platform, to “infiltrate” their groups and sought “hackers who can either shut down their websites or redirect them.”Others show group members listing the names, addresses and workplaces of community members they disagree with.”What they’re teaching is really just forced groupthink,” Tina Ramirez, a former congressional candidate and the founder of Hardwired Global, which fights for religious freedoms in the Middle East, told Fox News. “They’re actually teaching racism.”

  39. Ground report from inside Amazon. I’m beginning to wonder if my days at Amazon are numbered, either by my choice or theirs. To this point my mindset is that I disagree with Bezos’ politics, but I’ll gladly take the man’s money for a hard day’s work.

You can’t step foot inside the building without a mask, nor in their parking lot, AND if you share rides with another employee, both employees must be masked inside the vehicle…UNLESS… you’re eating drinking or smoking. Of course, I play by the rules. They offer two masks per shift. So I smoke my way up to the building every day, walk in unmasked everyday, and get my mask as soon as I’m past the turnstyles. Then I darn sure have something to drink at break.

They set up Covid testing on site. You can literally leave your station at any time to go get tested. So that creates peer pressure to always get tested. Not me! Amazon sent a notification to our online hub that Bezos has offered the feds to use Amazon sites to offer the vaccines. :::me raising eyebrows:::: Just yesterday, on the hub, was a new policy that employees are automatically scheduled for a voluntary test. Note…voluntary. I dunno. Am I going to be put on a list for not testing? Now, with the offer of on site vaccines…what if I don’t get a vaccine?

They may have a fight on their hands from the weirdest group…blacks. The black people at Amazon are nazis about masks. They are scared to death, because the virus hits them worse. They are fine with having to wear a mask forever. I see lots of double masks and plastic face shields with the mask. BUT…not one black person I’ve spoken to wants to get the vaccine. We’ll see how this shakes out.

Another point. I saw last week that Monday 3/15 OSHA was supposed to post notice about a national workplace mask mandate. I haven’t searched to see if they posted or not, but how are you states, especially those who just dropped the mask mandate, going to take having to wear a mask while working, even though your state has dropped the mandate?

    • Stephen K. Trynosky says:

Crazy stuff! Your employer can make you wear a tennis racquet over your face if he wants to, the joy of private ownership.

Funny how the black people took Cuomo and Newsome’s advice to heart about NOT trusting the Trump vaccine. Chickens coming home to roost I guess.

  47. Dan Bongino again today on his show said that Biden is declining noticeably and rapidly. He does not give his sources but being former Secret Service it is obvious. The Chinese, Russian and Iranians are going to take advantage of this. Even if he steps down, I do not think Kamala is up to the task so our decline on the world stage will continue. This dangerous and potentially leads to active conflict or acquiescence.

    • THAT is funny.

    • MOSCOW—Vladimir Putin has challenged Joe Biden to a contest of wits, strength, and cunning: a stair-ascending contest. The winner of the contest will gain control of the other country.

“Stair-ascending contest, me and you, right now, let’s go,” said Putin as he met with the American president. “He who wins become supreme glorious leader forever of other puny weak man.” Biden agreed to the contest, though it wasn’t clear he knew who this man was or where they were.

“3… 2… 1… climb!” shouted the referee before firing off a pistol. Biden got off to a rocky start as he was startled by the gunshot and scurried off in the wrong direction. Putin, meanwhile, just walked up the stairs. Biden started gaining on him as his handlers corralled him and pointed him in the right direction, but he kept falling over and tumbling down the stairs.

It all looked good for Russia until Putin had to stop a few times to sign execution papers for journalists who criticized him, squandering his lead.

Finally, Biden jumped in a stair lift and started to close the gap, but it was too little, too late, and Putin emerged at the top of the 30-step staircase victorious.

Well, thanks to Biden losing the stair contest, we are now part of Russia. We also just want to say that Vladimir Putin is one fine fellow and a fantastic man, and he deserved to win and we welcome him as our new leader for life.

$86M to house 1200 illegal immigrants families. That is nearly $72K/per family. You could build them houses for less. Who he// is negotiating this stuff?

  51. Here is a question for you. The surveilled Carter Page for almost a year. Who saw the data and what did they learn?

  52. Dale A Albrecht says:

It is estimated that during the initial Spanish conquest of the Americas up to eight million indigenous people died, primarily through the spread of Afro-Eurasian diseases., in a series of events that have been described as the first large-scale act of genocide of the modern era.

If the pattern of smoking all over the globe doesn’t change, more than 8 million people a year will die from diseases related to tobacco use by 2030. Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure.Mar 23, 2020

And we’re suppose to feel guilty. The “peace” weed gift of native americans kills more people per year than all natives killed from the Spanish conquest inward.

Not mentioning the south American gift of cocaine

    • Yes, and you can buy the dirty weed at Indian casinos tax free while you gamble let them have your money. Sweat revenge.

  54. Border update, for those interested. I can only report for my area (Del Rio to Presidio). The cartels own everything south of the border. The administrations policy is aiding and abetting, theft, prostitution, human trafficking, kidnapping, murder, and drugs. If the border is completely open, it makes the human trafficking even worse. It still costs 3 to 7 k to cross the badlands of Mexico. If you do not pay, you die. They kill them and throw them in the river. We pluck out bodies every single day. Those that do get across, about 10% of them die of exposure, snake bite, falling off cliffs, breaking legs, drowning, or being robbed and raped by US gangs that are now here. (They were not here before this year). Opening the border will NOT STOP THIS.

Ranchers are losing cattle, having houses burned, their fences cut, and their employees shot or intimidated by the Mexican Cartels. The Mexican Cartels are in war with themselves over territory south of the border. They have carved out huge swaths of land and it costs to cross it whether legal or illegal. American citizens do not even cross no mans land any longer. You get stopped on Mexican highways and robbed, raped, cars stolen, and some held for ransom. NONE OF THIS IS REPORTED IN THE PRESS I wonder why?

You can still go to tourists areas, as they are run by the Cartels now…(65% of the hotels and beaches in Mexico are currently owned by Cartels.) If you take a Mexican vacation, you are aiding and abetting the Cartels. In Vera Cruz, for example, the hotel space is 100% controlled by the Cartels. Even the Marriott’s, the Windham’s, the Sheraton’s……all pay a ransom to the cartels to remain open.

As you know, we have a ranch in Mexico outside of San Miguel Allende. We can no longer go there without armed guards, our property is protected by armed guards, our produce and horses have armed guards and we cannot travel into the countryside for fear of being kidnapped and held for ransom. If you go into town, you best stay in El Centro to be safer. It is a war zone in Mexico and controlled.

Now, Biden will not let the press into the detention centers…..why? Makes on wonder who is on the payoff there.

  55. Guy lines for the big guy

  56. Two border Democrats have announced their retirements ahead of the 2022 cycle amid the growing border crisis that the Biden administration is having trouble getting under control.

Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Texas, announced that he would not be seeking re-election to his House seat as the border crisis grows and redistricting in the state of Texas looms.

Vela is the second Democrat to announce their retirement after the 117th Congress, joining Arizona Democrat Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, who announced her retirement earlier this month.

I will not be seeking reelection to the House of Representatives in 2022,” the Texas Democrat said. “I will continue to focus on maintaining a Democratic House and Senate Majority in my capacity as a member of Congress and Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, while working diligently for the people I am so grateful to represent.”

His announcement came the same day his fellow Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar released photos illustrating the conditions inside the migrant holding facility in Donna, Texas — the area of the Lone Star State which Vela represents.
House Democrats are on the run because they know their worsening border crisis and socialist policy agenda will cost them their majority,” said Moore. “Expect more Democrats to follow Kirkpatrick and Vela into an early retirement than face defeat in 2022.

“Photos from Cuellar’s office showed that the Biden administration is placing migrants in clear pens. Democrats blame former President Donald Trump for the crisis, saying the former president left them in a bad situation.

    • Photos of migrants in a crowded border facility in Donna, Texas, were released Monday by the office of Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, as the Biden administration limits media access to the southwestern border.

The migrants, who are in clear pens akin to cages, are seen sleeping on pads on the floor with aluminum blankets. In some instances, it appears that dozens are sharing individual pens. Most appear to be wearing masks.

      • Did Hunter Biden get the $86M contract to house 1200 illegal immigrant families for 6 months? That is $71,667/family or $143k/yr/family. That is a nice house in many parts of the country. But our troops sleep on concrete floors and our vets go homeless.

  57. So now that we have broke the $2T spending bill limit, now let’s go for $3T. Oh hell, it is only Monopoly money.
