HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA

Let us ALL; Stand Up for America.

That precious land of freedom, liberty and justice for all.

So many today want to focus on divisions, disputes, frustrations and general ill will of our citizenry. I am increasingly convinced that while there is plenty of stress to go around, most of us do not really carry all this animosity around with us every day. We don’t go around howling at the moon, unless someone comes along and provokes us. The vast majority I meet LOVE this country of ours. Yes, they often have different views of what they want it to look like. And of course, some are entirely wrong in their thinking. Heh, heh, heh (joke alert)!

But July 4th should be a time to celebrate our commonality, our shared principles and values, not our petty differences. So lets pray to the Almighty to give we Americans the wisdom to see through the fog of distractions and divisions being purposely sown. May those who seek to divide us find their seed fallen on sterile ground.

Let freedom be our battle cry and may the brotherhood of Liberty warm our hearts.

God Bless America.

    Charlie,

In keeping with my 4th of July message I would like to invite you to explain your claimed love of “socialism” and why you think it could even work.

I fully understand your frustrations with the power structures/systems we currently experience. You may be surprised to find that many of us self proclaimed lovers of “capitalism” are equally frustrated and even angry about the current conditions.

I personally, just don’t see how changing horses fixes the problems. So please let “er” rip. I look forward to your explanations.

And we would love to sit down to a fine Italian meal with you and the Mrs. But be warned, my Spousal Unit Leader is 50% from your tribe. We are hoping to get back there in September.

    • Have no fear of socialism in America for the working class and poor. It’s all well and good (and I assume you’re against this too) for corporations and happens over and over and over again. The latest obvious example is the airline industry, gifted 54 billion for the pandemic to make sure they didn’t let their staffs go … so they found a loophole (bad on the government, intentional or not) because what they did was offer buyouts (my wife recently went through this) and they book flights well in advance and knew they wouldn’t have the staff to service the public. So it goes. We lost. You lost and I lost. Corporations run this government. Their lawyers pen the legislation their puppets in Congress and the White House give the stamp of approval. So it goes. What I truly believe is that once the same 6 or 7 corporations bought the media and ran those newsrooms for profit (capitalism eating itself), the game was over. Socialism in America is a one way street, for corporations, by corporations and for corporations. Until that is resolved, there’s nothing to worry about regarding a socialist government in America. We lost. We all lost. It’s only a matter of time before it collapses on itself.

      • Just A Citizen says:

Well first of all you need to be more specific when casting shade on “corporations”. The Wilderness Society is a “corporation”. Don’t paint with such a broad brush.

Second, you didn’t answer my questions. Whether you or I think it will come to the USA or what form is not relevant. I want to understand why you think it is so great and how it will work “better”.

        • Any and every government will have it’s corruption, including socialist governments … and without the 4th estate divorced from corporate owners, the corruption becomes absolute. We no longer have a genuine journalism in America. We have opinions. To my mind, as always, the people come first. So, rather than watch guys who paid ZERO federal taxes take flights into space (for all of 90 seconds or so, something we did back in the 60’s), wouldn’t it be better if those fools (who “earned” their money off the backs of their employees, some of whom were being paid peanuts and had to work 2 jobs or accept food stamps), provided more to their workforce and less to fantastical nothings. Yes, I believe in nationalizing. And, yes, I believe a strong 4th estate devoid of corporate influence, would do a better job than one paid by the same corporations that own the government. “Today, 6 media giants control a whopping 90% of what we read, watch, or listen to.” Below is obscene while Americans sleep under bridges.

          Apple. 2,510 Billion US $
Microsoft Corporation. 2,268 Billion US $
          ALPHABET. 1,933 Billion US $
          Amazon.com. 1,757 Billion US $
          Facebook. 1,069 Billion US $
Tesla Inc. 736 Billion US $
Berkshire Hathaway. 646 Billion US $
Nvidia Corporation. 557 Billion US $

    • And you and your spouse are very welcome here. We’ll eat like kings for a day … and diet a week later.

A reminder of what happens when the Federalism anticipated in our Founding is taken by thieves in the night, or should I say Wizards in Black Robes?

At any rate, the title of this article is appropriate. To avoid Civil War requires some “tolerance”. I suggest that cuts both ways.

  3. Happy Birthday America…..the same rights that allow the protestors to burn the flag are the same rights that I have in stopping such action. I have done it before….I better not see one being burned nor flown upside down nor desecrated in any manner. I will stop it.

    • Just A Citizen says:

Well it seems to me your reaction to an upside down flag should be, how should I say, more measured.

“Traditionally, the American flag should never be hung upside down “except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property” according to the U.S Flag Code.”

      • Measured? Measured? I suppose it would only depend on how it was presented….but a group of punks marching to the beat of an imaginary drummer….will get a sharp response from me. The flag, to me, is not to be disrespected. I can think of no time, today the 4th, for the flag to be upside down…..even for a political statement. But then again, you are talking to a person that stops at business’ and pulls down soiled or torn flags….it’s personal.

A little history lesson this morning.

    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/07/turkey_seeks_to_bury_the_current_byzantines.html

Now I happen to find some irony in this. Think of how the left just heaps love and tolerance upon Islam. How dare we bring up its ugly past. All while rioting in the streets and tearing down monuments to the past, because they represent atrocities of the past.

    • Dale A Albrecht says:

All true. A few points to offer. Constantinople had been sacked by the Venetians. They took a holiday on their way to a crusade. Venice is full of the spoils. After sacking constantinople they went home. A plague further weakened the city.

Turkey for a long time has wanted to be part of the EU. Always rejected due to their continued use of the death penalty. However, it seems the EU is being flexible on their moralistic stand. Draghi and Erdogan seem to being ok with joining. My opinion this has nothing to do with the fact since Islam has dreamt of conquering Europe since Islams founding. It has to do with a much more current even called Ukraine.

    • It is always good politically to have external enemies to unite the population.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

Remember shortly after Napoleon was finally defeated France, Great Britain and the crumbling Ottoman Empire joined forces to thwart Russias “Sphere influence” from expanding into what they felt were their “Spheres of Influence”

It all had its opening arguments of who would control the Holy Sites in Palestine

  5. Just A Citizen says:

I can just imagine the blathering counter argument that would be presented by the Black Pirate, called BF.

    https://thehill.com/opinion/international/3543012-who-caused-the-russo-ukrainian-war-nato-or-russia/

    • I would not have hurt our position to have explicitly stated the Ukraine is not a viable candidate for NATO but that we expect all parties to live up to the original agreement to endure Ukraine’s sovereignty. Thus the excuse would be off the table making any response a simple response to unprovoked aggression.

      • Dale A Albrecht says:

And REMOVE the two plus dozen biolabs set up by the US and others to study WMD, which are situated near the Russian border in Ukraine.

If they’re do secure why not perform that research here? I believe they cant due to the high risks

  6. Just A Citizen says:

I don’t believe for a minute that this author is a “Progressive”. Bit if he is this certainly is the biggest epiphany of self awareness I have ever seen. Maybe Mathius wrote this under a pen name. 🙂

    https://thehill.com/opinion/energy-environment/3546281-green-new-deal-rip/

    • Of course it never occurs to him that the whole thing may be a hoax. There is no existential threat.

  7. Just A Citizen says:

As evidence of why many in the country remain divided I give you this article:

    https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/05/politics/independent-state-legislature-theory-what-matters/index.html

It is hyperbole, pure and simple. The author’s intent is clearly to scare the left wing base into thinking that R’s could just start taking over via the State legislatures. There is absolutely no basis for the idea that a State Legislature could ignore a State Court ruling on a State Constitution if said Constitution actually included clear guidance on drawing election boundaries. And SCOTUS has already signaled that violations of the Federal Constitution by States would not be allowed.

  8. S Kent Troy says:

Going to issue you a challenge here, same one I gave several months back to the rest of SUFA. Go out and read “A Strenuous Life” by Theodore Roosevelt. Then get back to me. You might just be surprised!

A short book, can be done in a couple days unless you go back like I did and re-read chapters. It is essentially a collection of magazine pieces and speeches given 1898-1902.

Since WW 1 is behind me more or less, I have spent the last couple years reading up on TR, a progressive but the kind who believed in progress (like me). Despised by the traditional conservatives, hated by the left because he never went as far as they wanted. He was serious when he called his administration “A Square Deal”.

You would have to dig deeper into his personality and read for example the trilogy Edmund Morris wrote about his life but as bombastic, vitriolic and even vindictive as they come who dragged the country (kicking and screaming) into the 20th century. Power elites, from all sides hated him and stole the 1912 nomination from him but he still outpolled Taft as an independent. Wilson won with 41.8% in 1912 but Roosevelt and Taft’s totals combined would have handily defeated him. I see that they are now putting up rich boy dog abuser Romney as an “independent” candidate now to guarantee the blithering idiot’s second term.

    • S Kent Troy says:

This is for Charlie by the way.

      • The “theories” of corruption:

        Italian satellites
        Hugo Chavez
A truck from NY to PA
“Thousands and thousands” of dead people
Biden ballots scanned 3 and 4 times.

        All NUTS.

And let’s not forget a few facts (unless any fact presented to you isn’t going to be tolerated):
28,000 Georgians didn’t vote for the President.
Trump did FAR BETTER in 2020 than he did in 2016, including in Detroit.
He was losing in one Midwestern State (because mailed ballots were counted first), he just never caught up.
The Republicans did FAR BETTER than expected and several won in states where Trump lost.

Herein, end of discussion for me. 🙂

        • I never did hear how the truck story was resolved.

The Erie PA post office story faded away after the 4 hour “friendly” interview with a union rep. They claimed he recanted. Project Veritas had the kid wear a wire and I listened to the audio. They asked him a hypothetical question to which he gave a hypothetical answer, thus the “recanted” story. He did not recant but the damage was done.

          • The truck story was debunked by the DOJ (you’d know that if you watched the hearings) but you can’t do that because it conflicts with Trump’s fantasy. Oh, boy, glad I don’t live in Arizona … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC2GsItmGnw

              • Barr addressed this. He said (in the hearing video) that the start and end destination and the driver were all interviewed by the FBI. Totally debunked. I wonder if this had anything to do with it. You know, if you only follow a right wing source of material/news, you might not get the full picture. Barr did explain this one away in the hearings. But the ghost hunter driver came off badly after his “claims” … https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fraud-witness-also-believes-ghosts-are-haunting-his-family

                • Typical, attack the whistleblower but provide absolutely no evidence to contradict him. Where is the manifest, what actually happened to the trailer, what were the statements of the other individuals involved, were they under oath….? Once again, I want details not opinions.

                  • Well, since you’ll never trust Barr’s testimony (nor assume the FBI did investigate it), you’re right. Nothing happened on January 6th. A bunch of tourists coincidentally showed up to the Capitol, some with guns, some with other weapons, and for a reason no one can understand, these proud american tourists stormed the capital, best the crap out of the police, and eventually took dumps and urinated inside the building, broke into offices, etc., etc. … and for some reason, the official counting of the ballots was halted (a federal crime) and nobody in the Trump WH had anything to do with anything because a truck driver who chases ghosts says the election was stolen. All righty then … 🙂

                    • Charlie, it is called transparency. Without it everything and everybody is suspect.

                    • I think if Trump had pulled out a narrow victory in 2020, I would’ve been laughing my ass off at the Democrats for pushing Biden down our throats the same way they did Hillary. Now, in all those cases you mentioned, not once was the ruling of the courts contested with a riot. Not one. Gore did the right thing in the end and conceded. Even Hillary conceded. The crap that came afterward about the Russian connection was the democrats looking to blame the Sanders supporters and anything and everybody but themelves. That’s par for their course. Trump has been proven a liar more than 35,000 times. You won’t accept that (Washington Post facts checks) … you also won’t accept Republicans testifying against him, people who voted for him and were hand picked by him and his team. That’s sad, in my opinion.

                    • One more … these are HIS people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU4ReTntakU

                    • Te reality is that they told use what they would do. In the Time Mag. article on how they won the election, the explicitly state they would go BACK to the streets. Note the “back”. If you think the riots in 2020 were about racism then you are naive.

As for your short video, all I heard was opinion, no facts.

                    • I think the knucklehead revolution was a knucklehead revolution. I know it wasn’t ANTIFA and I know it was illegal. I didn’t mention racism, although many declared and proud racists were BIGLY Trump supporters. You know, the “very fine people” …

                    • “It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.” [Ronald Reagan]

                    • Ah, Mr. Reagan … now there’s a guy who knew things … 🙂

                    • S Kent Troy says:

The quote about “very fine people” refers to those who did not want the statues down for historic not racist reasons. there were three groups, AS YOU KNOW, if you don’t then you have some learning to do. The Kook right winger racists who all probably want free things from the government,. The Kook left wingers who also want free stuff from the government and those who think that history is the guide to prevent bad things from happening again. But, I suspect you know all this. You just choose yo ignore it. Still cannot tell me though what BAD things Trump did as president. None of your anti Trump paranoids can either.

You were the guys who hated Teddy Roosevelt too. Upsetting the apple Cart may just make things better, but NOT the way you want, be you extreme right or extreme left. TR and Trump only benefitted the folks not the ideologues and THAT can never be tolerated. .

                    • You actually believe this: “The quote about “very fine people” refers to those who did not want the statues down for historic not racist reasons.” No wonder you’ll believe anything. 🙂

      • I catch a lot s–t from Democrats for the kind of thing I posted today on FB (where I’m often in jail) …

So, with all the trouble Donald Trump has managed to cause America over his 4 years in office and his attempted coup, weren’t you (me) wrong about not voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016?

No and for many reasons I don’t expect loyal dems to agree with. To wit (and none take precedence over the other – they are ALL good reasons to have ignored her in 2016 or anytime):

        1) Russia, Russia, Russia but not the fugazi “Trump is a Russian asset” nonsense. Because she called for a No Fly Zone over Syria and was willing to go to war with a nuclear power like Russia.

        2) She is and has always been every bit the liar and corrupt politician we didn’t yet know Donald Trump would be. I’d put them both in jail. I’d also put several other corrupt officials in government from both parties in jail for the crimes they have committed, the same crimes that were ignored (i.e., insider trading, lying us into illegal wars, abuses of power, coups, etc.).

        3) His election (her fault for assuming she didn’t have to campaign or campaign harder in a few states) has exposed the absolute corruption of our political system. It has always been there, but it was never exposed as much as Trump exposed in over his 4 years (and is still unchallenged by the Department of Justice coup).

        4) She was a former Republican on the board of Walmart (where her husband was Governor and Walmart was based). Corruption much? Duh … and the fact she’s ALWAYS been a corporatist democrat sealed the deal.

        5) She would have solidified the centrist/liberal hold on the party, which Biden has ensured anyway. I have no use for the Democratic Party, except for them to convince their thus far feckless DOJ to prosecute Trump, et al.

  9. Just A Citizen says:

So, I watched much of the YouTube videos of Mr. Stella, posted by charlieopera himself.

Call me crazy but all I could think was “this is the left wing version of Donald Trump” speaking at me. Which goes back to something I said a long time ago.

Mr. Trump is from New York/New Jersey. And sorry, but from way out here in the Western heartland, we see little difference between those two. I think his origins speak volumes to who he is and how he acts and speaks.

Come on Anita, I know you see it also. 🙂

    • S Kent Troy says:

Of course, we are brash, opiniated and often perceived as obnoxious. Just ask Charlie.

TR was EXACTLY the same. Most people have no clue about that but he could rip your heart out, stomp on it, spit on it and invite you to the White House for lunch the next day.

    • “this is the left wing version of Donald Trump” speaking at me. Which goes back to something I said a long time ago. ” … I’m at least 1,000x’s smarter (with my Brooklyneese) as Bunker boy … 🙂

      • Just A Citizen says:

You have this habit of saying things that have nothing to do with the point being made.

It doesn’t matter if your smarter than Mr. Trump. Something which has not objectively been proven, however.

The POINT, is ya’ll back there have a certain STYLE of arguing with others. We out here in the west find it a little, how can I say this delicately? Obnoxious comes to mind, but for the sake of civility lets just say ” a little off putting”.

        • The points were made not by men, but by Trump Republicans … they’re the ones testifying against him. Anyway, what is your feelings (all a’yous) on the situation in Ukraine? Did we provoke it? Should we continue arming (at our expense) an unwinnable war? How does Russia weaken when they’ll still have 6,000 nukes? Just curious.

  10. Charlie……my Plutonian friend……..are you really and truly buying into the hearings? I mean………really?

BTW…How in the hell are ya?

  11. I don’t see how you ignore them. They have zero weight and based on how the DOJ seems to be sleepwalking through this particular series of crimes, my guess is they won’t do anything anyway, but I do find it fascinating that handpicked Trump officials were willing to finally say what they’ve been biting their tongues to say for 4 years. The evidence is there and if the DOJ ever indicts and prosecutes, Trump et al will have the cross examinations they claim are missing. The hearings have 2 Republicans on the staff and although they aren’t named Jim Jordan or that pedophile Goetz, I’m find with their participation. I really can’t imagine ignoring what went down leading up to that day, especially as regards fake state certificates, the pressure campaign and an attempt to get DOJ letterhead on a letter to insure their fake certificates “might” be taken seriously. It is ultimately a comedy of errors by a small brigade of fools, but what they may well prove in the end is that there are plenty of people “above the law” and there really is no point in voting anymore. We’re a corporate oligarchy now and the pawns of the corporate world (the U.S. government) is a 3-card Monty act. My only regret about what I call “the knucklehead revolution” on January 6, 2021 is that they didn’t bring their weapons in and wipe out both parties before shooting each other. Rule #1 when committing a crime: DO NOT TAKE VIDEOS OF YOURSELF. 🙂

    • Charlie, Al Gore thinks he won in 2000, Stacy thinks she is gov. of GA, and Hillary thinks the Russians stole the election in 2016 despite her being the source of the Russian connection.

Please truthfully answer this question: What do you think would have happened if Trump had pulled out a narrow victory in 2020?

How many times over the last 6 years has Trump been called a liar only to be proved correct in the long run? The list actually starts on 1/20/2017.

  12. S Kent Troy says:

If somewhere near half the people who voted for Trump feel the election was NOT Kosher it would behoove the government to investigate the allegations. AG Barr, not withstanding, I am unaware of any comprehensive, serious investigation of said election.

If Mr. Trump lied 35,000 times according to the WP then Mr. Trump is in excellent company going back to Washington and certainly picking up two Roosevelts along the way, JFK, LBJ, Bill C. Difference being, Trump’s “lies” did not get us into any shooting wars or dead American kids.

Of course, none of us here at SUFA ever lie or exaggerate, do we?

    • You will never accept the fact that there were investigations, including a Republican recount of the votes in Arizona (that found Biden won by more than previously reported). The recounts, the investigations … none of it suits you. The fact his people “laughed” at the conspiracy theories doesn’t phase you. So it goes. 🙂

      • S Kent Troy says:

Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan. You are damn right. Put that all together with the drop boxes and the “early” voting and the “dirty” lists and I accept it no more than I accept Texas and Illinois in 1960. AND I liked JFK back then!

        Believe whatever you want.

        • Oy vey …

          • S Kent Troy says:

Damn right! Not stupid, been down this road before, many times.

The “elected” guy, who all the stealing was done for announced last week when asked about the 53 baked migrants had his flak answer, “The border is closed”. All d. congressmen and Senators and 95% of the media are happy with that.

            • Well, however angry you are, whatever you do, don’t attack the capitol … and if you do, don’t take vidoes of yourself doing it. 🙂

            • SK……no one down here has any remorse for the bodies…like the war zones I have been in, you get used to it….just another day in the neighborhood…..the 50 in San Antonio are a drop in the bucket to what we find weekly. The only people that really care…are the ones picking up the dead bodies. The Dems do not care…..none of them…very few repubs care…..very few. We see the after effects of the cartel rule down here every SINGLE FUCKING DAY (excuse my language). The Mexican government is complicit….and I am not sure how many of this administration are complicit but we also see this every day.

We see the vouchers from our State Department that we pluck from the bodies of those that drowned or are dehydrated and die. The ones that make it across proudly wave them in the air. The media does not care…they will not report it. The media and the Dems do not report the more than 50 bodies we find on a weekly basis…..some drowned, some shot, some lost and wandering in the vastness of the ranch lands, some raped and left for dead on the shores of the river…… instead, our government buses and flies them out in the dead of night with no vetting, no testing….and NO FLIGHT MANIFESTS.

There is big money involved and I am quite sure that the Administration from Biden on down is complicit. We know this and see the proof every day…..but no one cares. No one reports it. But we fight it…..because our ranchers are losing cars, homes, cattle, send their kids on armed school buses…..

              Governor Abbott is correct.

And, a goodly portion are being flown into Westchester County Airport and the former Stewart AFB then bussed into NYC and North Jersey. In my more paranoid moments I see these young male military age folks as a deliberate, planned precursor to more gang violence on a scale we have never seen. That, of course, will lead to bigger government crack downs to “protect” us and to ban guns.

  13. Well, we finally got the green light today. All illegals are to be returned to the border and by pass ICE. No more middle man. It does not matter where we catch them either. There is no longer a 1.5 km zone that we have to observe. There is no longer a “hold fire” order. We can engage all hostiles where found. Hostiles= gun runners, drug runners, human traffickers, and got “a ways”. We no longer have to let them go. We can pursue anywhere in Texas.

This is a relief. We cannot take them across the border but we take them back to pre- determined crossing points. I have two such points in my area. Del Rio and Presidio. At this point we turn them over to the Feds but if caught again, we bring them back again. No processing……we get to cut out the middle man. Thank you Governor Abbott.

    • Forgot to mention…….Back to the 1800’s, Texas National Guard now training and staffing a 200 horse cavalry for border patrol. Horses can go where tracked vehicles cannot. I wish I could be part of that…but alas….. I cannot. I will have some assigned to me, however.

Cant the States just set up a “Militia”

      • S Kent Troy says:

They actually have “State Guards” of which the Texicans have the best.

      • We have the Texas National Guard, 30,000 strong and we have the Texas State Guard 12,000 strong.. But, the issue with cutting pay and things is just talk…everyone is being paid now….plus the State Guard is being paid.

Just dropped in to say hi and let you folks know that I’m managing data for [redacted state-level campaign] in my spare time. I’ll drop back in in November to let you know if I’ve successfully unseated [MAGA nut].

The Big Data apparatus of the DNC is… interesting. I’m working on some interesting things. Too bad y’all are the bad guys, or I’d tell you all about it. 😉

There’s a bit of a headwind with Biden and the economy sucking so much.. but then again, SCOTUS just gave the left Roe to get riled up about so…. maybe it’s a wash? It should be interesting at least. $20 says SCOTUS overturns Obergefell before 2024.. $10 says they kill Lawrence and/or Griswald. $5 on Loving. Any takers? Place your bets now!

  14. Just A Citizen says:

I think this discussion between Allred and Elder highlights the reasons we seem to keep talking past each other.

    https://redstate.com/levon/2022/07/09/larry-elder-and-gloria-allred-manage-to-keep-it-respectful-in-debate-on-abortion-clarence-thomas-and-donald-trump-n591729

Allred’s arguments are primarily emotionally based. Not as in emotional fit but she is focused on how she and others are impacted. The result hits at an emotional level.

Elder’s arguments are about the logic or rationality of LAW and how that is supposed to work.

Elder is about the process working properly in order to maintain a functioning Republic. Allred is all about the outcome. Which of course leads us back to the left’s tendency to fall into “the ends justify the means” ways of thinking.

Her personal shot at Thomas, “he doesn’t care about women”, is just hyperbole fueled by that emotional outlook.

Now I would like to address some errors in the debated ongoing. Yes, the SCOTUS returned this to the States. But the real issue was whether this as a Federal COURT issue to be decided. They said NO. It is a legislative issue.

So while every one is claiming they just returned the issue to the States, this is not really what was done. You will find nothing in the ruling which prevents the Federal Legislature from making a law either allowing or banning abortion. Or regulating it is some manner in between.

The Court’s majority said the Court should not have ruled on the case as it had no authority due to the lack of a clear Constitutional Right being involved. It did not speak to the authority of the Federal Govt. to regulate abortion.

There are TWO different issues at play within the abortion, and really all, issues. One is whether a RIGHT exists. This then leads to how such a right is established. That must bubble up from the people to the States and then to the Federal. The ultimate outcome would be an amendment of the Federal Constitution, or if basically ALL of the States codified such a right. (I would then expect SCOTUS to uphold that such a right existed).

The second issue is the AUTHORITY of State or Federal govt. to regulate the practice. Under what authority does the Congress have such power? How about the State Legislatures.

One point of clarity. SCOTUS did discuss the role of “legislatures” as the place where this should be resolved. Not the courts. It looks as though lower level judges are already undermining this view.

And REMOVE the two plus dozen biolabs set up by the US and others to study WMD, which are situated near the Russian border in Ukraine.

Just a guess but it might have to do with standards for using animals for testing. That and a way to funnel money to the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

  16. In 1973, Nixon did what Trump attempted to do with his Attorney General’s. Fire them until he could find one who would act in his, not the country’s, best interests, effectively turning the United States Attorney General into his personal lawyer. It was called the Saturday Night Massacre in 1973. The January 6 hearings that highlighted Trump’s attempt to install Jeffrey Clark as his gopher AG , his second AG in 2 weeks. His plan went south because the entire upper management team of the DOJ threatened to resign (although the White House call logs had already printed Clarke as the “Acting Attorney General).” The chutzpah was and remains astounding. Trump couldn’t get DOJ letterhead on a bogus letter that would claim the 2020 election was a fraud. When put to his acting AG, Jeffrey Rosen, he was told it wasn’t going to happen. The letter had to do with the next part of the plan, to deliver fake state certifications to the Electoral College count on January 6. He expected his Vice President, Mike Pence, to reject the actual state certifications of 7 states. Even without the DOJ bogus letter, Trump still attempted to reject the actual state certifications and re-install himself as President for a second term. It failed, but the armed mob he sent to the Capitol on January 6 did their part in interfering with the Electoral count (a direct federal crime), as the count had to be stopped and then restarted after the violent attack was finally quelled, during which Trump enjoyed the show on a White House television and did nothing to stop it. Mr. Trump likes the old days and has managed via Supreme Court choices and federal judicial choices all across the country to turn America back in time. I hope they do one more thing regarding “back in the day” … those who committed treason were subject to be hanged.
What a pretty picture that would be. I’d hang it on one of our walls.
This video is a recollection of the 40th anniversary (1973-2013) of Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre. These things help me write. Why? Because I’m a lunatic.

    • S Kent Troy says:

      ARMED mob? Prove it!

Be careful what you ask for when talking about penalties for TREASON. Not doing anything about teh 3.5 million people “invading” the border in the past 18 months just MAY qualify.

Say who in the hell is Ray Epps anyway? How about those “ninja” guys with ladders breaching the capitol. Any been arrested yet or are they all from the fifth floor of the Hoover building?

I am all in favor of trying the people in the DC jail for “insurrection” but right now, they might just as well be in GITMO. Ever hear of Habeus Corpus?

      • Sticks, flagpoles, pipes, batons, brass knuckles, bear spray, etc. are weapons, but … pay attention now: Go to 1:44 if you don’t care to hear anything else. 🙂

        • S Kent Troy says:

Sure, uh huh. The police saw them too and did nothing? Open carry? Gimmie a break. Like Russian Collusion, Stormy Daniels and the rest. Bullshit. I have this great bridge for sale between Manhattan and Brooklyn. You could charge tolls and make a fortune. $ 10,000 down and easy monthly payments.

EVERYBODY on that day is on tape somewhere, just ask Ray Epps. We have him repeatedly telling the crowd on 5 and 6 January to storm the capitol. Yet nobody has had him anywhere near a hearing, have they?

Your “weapons” were in the standard Antifa, BLM arsenals during the other insurrections or if you prefer, “mostly peaceful protests”.

It is silly for me to even talk on these issues since you get YOUR information from sources pushing the fable, only. There is enough film out there on more conservative media showing teh chaos of the day and repeatedly asking the question, “If troops were offered to protect the Capitol, Why were they declined? hell, why did that cop literally escort Chewbacca down the aisle in the House Chamber? Chewbacca is doing three years now for it. .

The Gretchen Whitmer “kidnapping” paid for and sponsored by your FBI says it all. Along with the Waco barbecue and the poor bastards doing life in the Max for the great “Fort Dix Six” plot. Remember THESE are the people who brought you Iraq and Afghanistan .

          • Right, the police transmission were done in Hollywood by George Soros and everything else was staged. You Q guys are hilarious at this point. Excuse me while I head to the basement to have my children’s blood cocktail before smoking a joint and going to bed. 🙂

            • I’m with SK and TRay all the way. Its all about the money. Trump upset the apple cart and its been warfare ever since. Can’t forget this oldie but goodie:

David Plouffe on Twitter: “It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”

              By any means necessary.

            • S Kent Troy says:

I can call in just about anything on 911 can’t I? But the result? There was NO result! Back as an Auxiliary in the ’70’s I got to listen to dispatch some of the funniest stuff I ever heard including space alien calls.

Say, what about those guardsmen Trump offered?

  17. S Kent Troy says:

      • S Kent Troy says:

Gotta be pulling my leg pal.

        • I’m curious. What would you call what happened on January 6? Tomorrow’s hearing deals with the Knuckleheads who thought they could do whatever it was they intended to do, EXCEPT, of course, the FACT that they did interfere with the counting of Electoral Votes, a an federal crime.

        • One more thing … for today (not tonight) 🙂 the burden of “proof” is on the plaintiffs. Try and not forget that. So, when Rudy “Nosferatu” Guiliani makes absurd claims that are literally laughed at and NEVER turns over his proof … well, it goes from funny to absurd … until a bunch of Knuckleheads show up to the Capitol for an insurrection they were lied into because they refuse to do their due diligence and insist on accepting the words of a pathological liar. Again, the burden of proof is on the plaintiffs.

As for Matt, Buck and Ray, they are very smart fellows and may awaken some day. I suspect there are more cracks in their armor than they realize. It is actually the Charlie’s of the world that scare me more. When I read his arguments I can’t help but visualize a monster octopus flailing around, swinging its arms wildly in anger and frustration. And at the end of each arm is a sharp weapon. The only question is whether the creature will slay all of us, or itself first.

I’d like extra credit for the 1/2hr research to find it.

Then JAC had to call me out re: Trump’s personality.

Come on Anita, I know you see it also

:::Anita’s thinking – oh hell no! Did JAC just call me out?!::: becauuuuussee

I’ve said exactly that – that I liked Trump precisely FOR his NY personality…and I compared it to our own Charlie Stella’s personality… and that I love Charlie Stella.

So we agree JAC. Those NY’rs are their own special breed. Down and dirty wiseguys but they’re welcome at my firepit anytime.

    • Grazia, Anita. The difference between Trump and NY’ers, however, is Trump never had an actual fight in his life. Never. He’s a spoiled brat who always got his way. He’s a con artist (NY’er saw that day 1) … he’s, to put it in NY street terms, “fugazi” … a fake. And make no mistake, amici … I love Anita!

    • Charlie isn’t the dangerous one. Charlie performs insurrections (I call them revolutions) at Casa Stella only (and my wife usually shoots them down … and without an AR-15) … or is it an AR-14? I’m easily confused. I love the image of the flailing octopus though … with eye-talian switchblades perhaps? Seriously, though, let’s do a roll call. How many here have gone as berzerk as Qanon?

OK. It is time to see if SUFA has learned anything over all these years of debate and discussion.

What is WRONG with Mr. Moore’s proposed amendment???

Hint: It has nothing to do with abilities to defend our selves or other such things. It is a fundamental error that would change the country forever.

    Ready, set, go!

    • Just A Citizen says:
      • Before I read his dribble….i have to ask myself, why I would give any credence to Moore, who rates somewhere between a decaying dried dog turd and a sweaty snake’s ass….

        • Just A Citizen says:

About the time I came to SUFA I actually crawled down that rabbit hole. Of course Q-Anon had not come around yet but it was the same stuff. Some of it was being pushed by Black Flag and associates at the time.

Got down there……saw what was going on………….. immediately crawled back up out of the rabbit hole.

The difference between me and many is I was willing to actually look, listen and think about what was being presented. The sad thing is there are grains of truth in almost all the “conspiracies”. That is what makes them plausible and “sticky”, with respect to the current media culture.

Here is a better question for you my Italian friend. Given what we now know about the behavior of the Federal Govt and other Power Elite the past 20 years or so, like use of espionage agencies to spread false news in hopes of undoing a sitting president, how could you or anyone simply dismiss QAnon stories as bat shit crazy without serious investigation???

          • Just A Citizen says:

Well that was a screw up. That was my response to Charlie about QAnon.

          • “immediately crawled back up out of the rabbit hole.” For this I bless you (I’m an atheist so it’s probably not worth much) but good for you anyway.

I trust NOTHING coming from the Government. Biden and his son should be prosecuted for the bullshit they got away with in Ukraine. Like I said in a prior post, without an “actual” legitimate 4th estate (not the corporate one we have now), we’re helpless and conspiracy theories rule the day. As for Q, all I needed to see/hear was the pizza pedophile nonsense (drinking the blood of children, etc.) and I shut them out. Do I believe there’s a deep state? Well, if there is, its corporate run. Our entire political system is a gigantic failure and I always saw Trump as a symptom of the problem, not the problem. That said, I know too many people who did (and are doing) time and they were mostly guilty for the crimes they were charged with. Real time, not the bullshit prisons these clowns would get if they ever prosecuted and convicted them. A large part of my socialist belief has to do with justice. In American, it’s simple math: the powerful walk. 9 out of 10 times they walk … or get pardoned by other felons. It is what it is.

        • Just A Citizen says:

He also represents just how IGNORANT and UNEDUCATED the ELITE Public Opinion Leaders are, let along member of our Federal and State Legislatures.

P.S. Can I dust off my saddle yet?

    • S Kent Troy says:

More than a decade ago, a Brooklyn Congressman, Major Owens, introduced a bill to remove the 2nd Amendment. I must tell you that I wrote him a congratulatory letter for having the guts to do that.

We are fortunate in having a Constitution which can literally be amended “by the will of the people”. Explains actually prohibition and its repeal.

The process, as liberals and radicals have found out, is brutal. Explains why the Equal Rights Amendment was never ratified and why they are so anxious to have judges write law. .

I would welcome such an attempt since it would go down in flames post haste. Probably settle teh issue for at least ……. a week!

      • It’s a VERY old document that can be twisted and turned any number of ways depending on the person(s) doing the twisting and turning. It is insane to continue holding onto it and/or the “founding fathers” as if they were Gods. They weren’t. They were land owners and wealthy men speaking to the interests of themselves. Regardless, the document does not make sense in 2022. States with less than 1 million people having the same Senate representation as states with 40 million … literally insane.

        • S Kent Troy says:

New York and other states went to HELL because of the change in the upper house to “one man one vote”. While I am absolutely certain that you know far more than the framers, probably even believe they only protected “muskets” in the 2nd Amendment, I am also certain that you have never sat down and read “the Federalist Papers” by Madison, Jay and Hamilton. They lay out the reasons nicely. Shit, why even bother having states at all?

          Your hubris simply astounds!

          • The one man one vote ruling has also done extreme harm to CA. Our politics is dominated by unions and cities. The rural counties needs (most of the state) are often overlooked or taken advantage of by the legislature. The restrict logging, mining, access to water, etc. They think they know how to farm so passed the cage free egg law and now the swine confinement law. We have had fire fees imposed on us just because we live in a rural area and we can be taxed w/o impacting the city folk. They never heard of the Oakland Hills fire. Imagine the screams if we rural folks imposed an urban earthquake tax.

          • My hubris? 🙂 Brother, you’re on another planet.

            • The Constitution is based on human nature. By nature, a certain fraction of men seek power in a tyrannical fashion. The founders knew this from history of which they were great students. The scholarship of the present pack of hyenas in DC does not come close to that represented in the Constitutional Convention. As such the document has limitation on the powers of the central government and a diffusion of those powers amongst three equal branches. Were these men flawed, yes. Would members of a new convention be any less flawed? I suspect not and further, I suspect they would be far worse.

              • Very possible that today it would be worse … especially if the minority that seems intent on returning to the (what century was the decision on Roe based?) 🙂 Doesn’t make a difference, though … corporations run the show. Nothing will change that except for a nuclear war … or climate change … or a more deadly virus. We’re well on our way.

  21. Where are you gals and pals on Ukraine? Very curious about that.

    • S Kent Troy says:

Never had to happen. USSR fell and we continued to treat them as pariah’s. No need for NATO after 91, Russia asked to join, we refused then we expanded NATO to their borders. Wonder how we would have liked Mexico to have joined the Warsaw Pact. No need to answer since we once almost blew up the world over Cuba in ’62. Thank God for Khrushchev because the Kennedy boys were really feeling their oats back then. It was NOT, contrary to popular myth Curt LeMay who wanted to bomb, bomb, bomb but Bobby!

Obama and his neo-libs/cons? wanted the Ukraine to throw out the Russians from their Black Sea bases and that touched off a lot of pro Russian sentiment in Ukraine leading to the election of a “moderate” who Obama and Hillary instigated a coup against because he was “corrupt”. I believe that was the government Biden Inc. tried to shake down. .

Reading history is so much fun! As the good book says, “There is nothing new under the sun”. Santana was right. Not Carlos, the OTHER Santana, the former Commie.

      • SK, agree with your analysis. another mess the CIA has gotten us into. Trump wanted to reduce tensions with Russia but the Russia, Russia, Russia politics got in the way. the press and the Dems demonized Russia to the point that any constructive discussions were impossible. In kissing up to China, Kissinger essentially encircled the USSR with unfriendly countries. Would we be in a better position now with China if we had befriended Russia or at least neutralized it with respect to China? In stead we have driven China and Russia together. Putin plays chess while we play checkers.

        • I agree with most of what you said, but Putin made a terrible mistake with the invasion. Aside from the war crimes (nobody cares, really), he’s made NATO stronger and exposed his military as second rate.

      • I agree it never should’ve happened and that NATO is pointless … but … I did notice you didn’t blame GWB and reserved your angst for Obama only. They’re all criminal presidents doing the will of the military industrial complex. “Not another inch east” was the refrain and agreed to … and then abused by Clinton, GWB and Obama. Where Trump actually did the right thing in not pushing NATO on Ukraine and knocking NATO. And then came Biden … oy vey!

        • S Kent Troy says:

Bush was and is an asshole. His daddy was an asshole. How many people understand that Ross Perot made the run just to destroy Bush I because Perot, a Naval Academy graduate was convinced (and evidence exists) that a whole bunch of Viet-nam POW’s were left behind. Either they went to the USSR or China. Bush had the lead in the Nixon Administration on the repatriation of the POW’s issue.

If there was one, there were more.

After reading both David Hackworth (Colonel) and through him Bernard Fall (French- American historian and professor) I am disgusted with our actions in Viet-nam. Yes, the war itself was horrible as all wars are but it is so incredibly evident that it could have been avoided. I do NOT blame us exclusively. Had Uncle Ho merely called off his dogs and waited a decade or two the damned country would have reunited by itself and several millions of people might still be alive busily sewing the shirts and sneakers I wear now.

If you want to be inclusive then don’t blame GWB. Blame the Muslim Brotherhood and all their offshoots. Without them we don’t get all the “terrorist” attacks around the world. We don’t get 9-11. Without that GWB never gets a reason to UPSET THE WORLD ORDER.

Although I don’t think he was smart enough to realize that was what he was doing. But Mr. Cheney should have known. As should have Mr. Rumsfeld and all the other “old guard” neo-cons.

          • I’m not as quick to blame radical Muslims as I am for a country that has it all militarily and financially, yet refuses to see the writing on the wall. 20 years for 1, soon to be 20 for another, plus 5 other Muslim countries drone bombed by 3 successive presidents. They’re supposed to love us?

            • Just A Citizen says:

Poor argumentation once again. All that droning and that 40 years you mention comes AFTER they took action against the US. But that is not the real point here.

It is CONNECTIONS. What is the catalyst that starts the ball rolling. You mentioned GWB. Well without “them” attacking us GWB never gets the cover for Afghanistan and Iraq. He doesn’t attack and the old world order of “stability” is maintained.

That is just one connection. There are many others going farther back in time.

              • I agree it’s poor argumentation, but I suspect it’s on your part. They “took action” against the U.S. Really? Our interventionS (capital S) in the Middle East is their fault?

Well initially this sounds bad. But it would be nice to know how wide the geographic sample was. Did they test only kids in heavy ag. areas or those in suburbia, where all the chemicals are used.

    https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/3554147-herbicide-chemical-linked-to-cancer-found-in-majority-of-urine-samples-in-cdc-study/

For the record, Roundup is a key chemical here on the farm. But it is used almost exclusively in the Spring time to kill everything in the landscape areas that are all bark, along the fences and then spot spraying of certain Noxious weeds where they pop up, like in roads and parking areas.

I have been using more 2,4 D lately along with some other broadleaf stuff, mixed together, to keep the weeds down in my rows of baby trees. We have a very serious infestation of “knotweed” or “bindweed” as some call it.

Attempts at “organic” control for three years failed. So the Chemicals came out again this spring.

    • It is an old study, 2014. Also they mention that levels are just above the detection limit but do not provide a level or any explanation of how it is measured. Detection limits can be very low, below the level of biological impact.

I have some Roundup in stock but very rarely use it. In the spring we spray the edge of the road to keep weeds from growing under the asphalt. Sometimes I spray poison oak. It is useless against star thistle.

      • Just A Citizen says:

        T-Ray

Have you tried mixing a little diesel fuel with the roundup to get to those thistles?

We have thistle and knapweed, along with Mullen and some other very waxy leafed varieties. The Diesel or another adjuvant will help the Roundup stick to and penetrate the leaves.

C’mon, all lawyer stuff like the water at camp Lejeune or the WTC or the Boy Scouts.

My Dad died in 1984 from lung cancer not brought on by 50 years of smoking but by his exposure to Benzine, Carbon Tet and Acetone in enclosed hangers during WW 2. A. where do I go for my free money? and B. What won’t kill us if overexposed to it?

Great story a few years back about some lady in CA who developed allergies to almost everything. Her Doc in Texas, a real scientist was stumped but kept looking for the root. All problems started when she and her new husband moved into a ’50’s vintage ranch home in CA. The doc eliminated everything else then suggested they “explore” the house. Ripping open a few walls they discovered the builder believed in “more is better” and had literally poured powdered DDT to a depth of six inches in all cavities between all studs. The house became a toxic waste site.

      • The western part of our county has a lot of serpentine rock that contains asbestos. There are several varieties of asbestos and only a few cause cancer. The rock is not dangerous unless disturbed. There were lots of disputes about the analysis as some claimed they were misidentifying the asbestos fibers as the dangers type but instead they were aggregates of the less dangerous type. Looking at cancer data, the area was no more prone to cancer than other areas. But this did not stop the Karens in the screaming about the problem. They even dug up the play grounds as the schools and brought in top soil to replace it.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that DROP BOXES were illegally used in the 2020 election since they were NOT authorized by the state legislature who make election law.

How many other states used them illegally?

Finally we are getting to the real heart of the matter as the US Supreme Court did last week. Commissions, Agencies, Administrations and Bureaus are NOT allowed to make law. Only a legislature can do that. This is perhaps the most important court ruling in the past 60 years.

I’ve always liked to use the Social Security Administration as an example of overreach. When the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed, led by Senator Bob Dole, there was, according to him, no intention to extend benefits to alcoholics or addicts. The SS people did that on their own and nobody either thought or had the guts to sue.

Neither were considered a patient induced voluntary abortion so did not fit into the discussion. A truthful press would correct all these claims and reduce the turmoil in the country.

The media focused this morning mostly on him saying Mr. Trump should hang up his hat and fade into the sunset. But the rest of the response was that the Democrats should STOP the Jan 6th BS along with all their other attacks. Why? Because they are giving Mr. Trump no choice but to run again in order to, hopefully, restore his legacy.

Pretty astute observation and in keeping with the rules of negotiations. If these elites are not dummies then one would presume they understand this. So why keep it up? Perhaps it is because they WANT Mr. Trump to run again. Just a suggestion.

    • How much damage has been done to this country because of TDS? I think it has done more than Covid did. It killed thousands of people because Trump suggested we try hydroxychloroquine thus it got labeled as horse pills never to properly vetted. Because Trump pushed oil, it had to be reversed and now we have record high prices and a looming recession. If Trump did or said it, it had to be wrong so now we push in the other direction only to see things go to shit. How stupid.

  26. On a personal note, the power came back on about 45 minutes ago. This was our 4th power outage in the last month. This year I have had to drag out the generator about 6 times. Most of the outages were scheduled maintenance for pole replacement. Instead of doing all the poles in the area at one time, they piecemealed it. The last two outages were spontaneous, no reasons given. And we are not even into the worst part of summer yet.

I am going to be gone for about a week. Spousal Unit Leader and I are taking a camping/road trip to see parts of Idaho we haven’t seen. Backcountry roads, 4 wheeling up and over the mountains in the middle of the State. Well at least from the south end of those mountains. Can’t cross them in the middle exactly. It is almost 4 million acres of Wilderness.

We may also go see some of all that forestry work we did back in the 70’s and 80’s, to see how our plans turned out. Many people in our professions never get a chance to go back and see if their ideas and effort worked. Good chance the fires since then overtook the new young forests we started. But maybe not. We will see.

So until next week. Keep it civil and have fun.

  28. S Kent Troy says:

Let’s make Charlie happy and talk about Trump’s Pillow Guy. The pillow guy is quite a character. He was a major druggie who fell off the wagon over and over. Fully expected to wake up one morning dead. Then he found the “higher power”. Some would call that God, some “the Giant Spaghetti Monster in the Clouds” Nonetheless it woke his sorry ass up.

He got off drugs and sits down to figure out what’s next. Well maybe it was the uncomfortableness of the pillow but something made him think he could do better. So, he started sewing pillows and came up with something that seemed to click.

We all know the rest of the story. Guy found his God, made millions, employed THOUSANDS, yes THOUSANDS which is a whole lot more than anyone in the Biden Administration has done. Can’t say I have checked it out but it was pointed out the other day that not a single member of his cabinet, his advisors or the President, Mrs. Biden or his VP EVER HAD TO MAKE A PAYROLL!

So, if the pillow guy wants to take his millions which he feels are on loan from God and squander them on theories about election theft then more power to him. At least he is NOT making up stories about Russian collusion.

I often feel the people who have moderate or no money who spend an inordinate amount of time attacking people who do have more money are shall we say a wee bit envious.

The reason most of us are not rich is probably because we once had a great idea and never followed up on it. I had the idea for a MICLICK to clear minefields back in 1969 in the Army. Still think I have a better design for a man portable one but never followed up on it.

    • Yes, the Pillow Guy deserves our respect (cough, cough) … so does Donald, for inheriting 400 million from his daddy and then nearly losing it all … and his bankruptcies and issues with the IRS are a testament to his honor and decency. The Pillow Guy in 2024! 🙂 Money, my dear friend, means nothing when it comes to character, but feel free to read YOUR Bible and what Jesus had to say about it. 🙂

      • S Kent Troy says:

        Your envy is so apparent.

Thinking back. I never met nor knew Trump but I knew two people I respect who did. Wayyyyy back they told me what a taskmaster was, how shrewd he was and how he was able to “read ” people and deal accordingly.

My one experience with his “honesty” was when he hired my former commissioner, Anthony Glideman to run some projects. NY City Civil Service Law prohibits former City employees from dealing with any city agency on financial matters for two years after leaving service. Glideman went to Truimps NON NYC projects. Two years later he was brought back as honcho for the Wollman Memorial Rink in central park. That, if you remember was a multi million dollar cluster F__K from the Koch Administration. Six months later I was skating on that ice after everything NYC did was ripped out and re-done.

Almost every former City employee I knew violated that two year prohibition, some in ways that should have put them in jail. Insider info if you know what I mean.

One of the reasons nothing ever came of Trump’s investigations or shenanigans was, there really were none. He was pretty damned careful to dot his I’s and cross his T’s I fault him for licensing his name to the “university” and did in fact go broke in eth late ’80’s like so many other real estate tycoons did. Them were bad days. I lost my job then and there was so much fake finger pointing to protect the idiots in the Federal Government who caused it.

        • Obviously, per usual, you never read the Times report on his father and his taxes avoidance … and I see you conveniently ignored the “no contest” he pleaded to the charge of discrimination against the Trump properties (housing discrimination). So it goes. As for envy, you remain on planet twilight zone. 🙂

          • Obviously, per usual, you never read the Times report on his father and his taxes avoidance

I see you used the term “tax avoidance” instead of “tax evasion.” I use the IRS tax code in the same way as all businessmen and Senators and Congressmen alike….I use it to avoid as many taxes as I can. I use the IRS code…..is this criminal?

            • When you purposely devalue property to avoid taxes, then pump up the same property value for bank loans, it’s called fraud … and yes, it’s criminal.

              • Just A Citizen says:

Come on man, you know better than that.

The only tax on the value of property is property tax and the owner of said property DOES NOT establish the value for taxation. That is done by a Govt. Employee, working for someone ELECTED by the people.

Banks have their own appraisals done for loans. So that dog just don’t hunt.

Try again. I am sure there are some real issues.

                • “he owner of said property DOES NOT establish the value for taxation.” … Except in Bunker Boy’s case he did set the value … why it’s called fraud.

  29. And then there’s Michael Flynn … he owns the fifth amendment. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCIHd5ppR9w

    • S Kent Troy says:

And just WHAT did Flynn do?

The Flynn disaster, a highly respected soldier (yes, I know people who know him) crucified for trusting what the FBI’s told him. Where care the agents who told him he did not need counsel? Where is their testimony when they told their corrupt bosses. There was NOTHING there?

Flynn was one of those guys like Powell who did not believe in “nation building” and did not see any threat (then) from a truncated Russia with an economy smaller than Italy.

The anti-Trump BS verges on pathological.

I wonder what our Colonel’s opinion of Flynn is?

      • Nothing wrong with Flynn except the ego that goes with being a general. Stellar military background…..his problem? Trusting the FBI (or the Fee Bee, as we call them).

        • S Kent Troy says:

          My son agrees!

          • Flynn (on every question); “Fifth.”

            • S Kent Troy says:

having personally watched a Federal Witch Hunt where all the witnesses for the prosecution either cut dals or lied, I think taking the Fifth is probably a great idea. Had he shut up when the lying FBI’s interviewed him we would NOT be having this discussion. What did he do by the way? I forget.

              • SK, Flynn had a phone conversation in Dec. 2016 with Amb. Kislyak which the CIA intercepted. Obama had a grudge against Flynn. In early Jan. there was an Oval Office meeting with Obama, Biden, Comey, Rice, etc. where Biden suggested using the never used law against citizens conducting foreign policy. ( I forget the name of the law.) Rice documented the meeting in a memo to files on Jan 20. 2017 just before the inauguration of Trump. The FBI interviewed Flynn a few days later w/o benefit of WH counsel which is customary. This was an ambush to entrap Flynn done at the direction of Comey. The intelligence agencies feared Flynn and wanted him out of the way. The interview went well and the agents involved concluded Flynn had not lied. The original after interview reports went missing. Mueller’s team looked at it and decided to prosecute. They charged him with lying about sanctions when they never asked him about sanctions. Sanctions are different than diplomatic expulsions.

They then proceeded to prosecute and in the process bankrupted Flynn and then threatened his son so he then plead out. The judge then showed his bias by calling Flynn a traitor in court. At this point Sydney Powell took on the Flynn case and started making some headway. The DOJ reviewed the case and concluded that there was no predicate for the original interview hence no justification for the charges. The phone call transcript was released showing that Flynn’s conversation with Kislyak was not problematic and no different than one would expect for an incoming National Security Advisor.

The DOJ dropped the case but the biased judge refused to drop it and made efforts to drag it out past the election. Hence the pardon to correct a miscarriage of justice.

If I were Flynn I would never put myself in a position to repeat this nightmare, hence taking the fifth.

              • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMyh7ko9L2g Trump doesn’t like the fifth … at least he used to not like it. 🙂

            • Hey Charlie……As an officer (and gentleman by act of Congress), I would never testify before any Congressional Committee……ever. I would invoke the 5th on every single question. Congress, whether Republican controlled or Democratic controlled, is the very definition of Kangaroo Court. Flynn should have known this..from the beginning in dealing with the FEEBEES. NEVER…EVER….UNDER…ANY …. CIRCUMSTANCE…..answer any questions from a Congressional hearing that is determined to find scapegoats. NEVER!!!

Flynn believed the FBI and they skewered him……

              • Are you saying if you saw or knew of an illegal act committed by ANYONE, you’d hold your water? That doesn’t sound very honorable to me.

        • I guess getting caught in a lie doesn’t count … not in the Trump administration. 🙂

      • What did Flynn do … I don’t know. Why’d he take the 5th? 🙂

  30. Special note to the tire lashers on SUVs…….please…….please try that here. If you do…..do not get caught. Texas has a castle doctrine that extends to vehicles whether in your driveway or in a parking lot…….in my case, I drive a Lincoln Navigator and/or an F 150 power boost pick up truck……and I openly carry.

  31. S Kent Troy says:

Happy Bastille Day to all. I was lucky enough to accidentally be there back in the ’70’s what a show!

  32. Why did Flynn and the rest of those clown ask for pardons? Inquiring minds (not you guys) want to know. 🙂

  33. Read it and weep, if you can manage … conservatives (actual conservatives) … Fraud, irregularities, and procedural deficiencies formed the basis for challenging the results in five of the six highly contested Electoral College battleground states of Arizona (page 7), Georgia (page 27), Michigan (page 36), Nevada (page 47), and Wisconsin (page 64). In Pennsylvania (page 53), Trump verbally attacked the elections as fraudulent, but his lawyers never filed such charges in court.

For this Report, we examined every count of every case brought in these six battleground states. We include both a narrative for each state and an accompanying Addendum listing each case and its disposition.

We conclude that Donald Trump and his supporters had their day in court and failed to produce substantive evidence to make their case.

    • C’mon man! The press reported the facts as they were up until a couple of days ago. Even the AG or Ohio had no information on the case. Tuck last night reported the arrest of the illegal immigrant and asked what took so long. Unlike the the MSM, the press on the right does correct the story when new information comes out. How many Pulitzer Prizes has the NYT given back for the fake stories about Trump?

      • It is possible, but not likely. Having traveled all over the world, I have seen pregnant girls as young as 10 and 11……it all depends on their biological maturing…..some just simply do it earlier.

You know, I am surprised that I have not been asked more questions on the border. I am here, first hand..I know what is happening. I arrest hundreds all the time..and my team has arrested thousands. We see what they are carrying from the Biden administration that are passed out in Mexico…we talk to them and we take them back to the border. I know what is being brought into the United States under the guidance of the Biden administration…I even know where half of the contacts are and how they do it. All of this, of course, has been reported and all this crap that the Administration is trying to do just ahead of the elections is pure coffee house crap.

Charlie, you and I have always gotten along (despite the Plutonian Dust mites that reside in your brain). You are making huge issues about Jordan, Trump, Flynn yet you ignore ehat is happening right under your nose…..and, if I did not know better, you seem to support the left hand waving theory….( misdirection ).

Now, I know that Mathius did not believe me on the border because it did not support the left (socialist) theory. But MAthius believes in open borders and that is ok….but he chose to believe biased reporting of the media, who is NOT ON THE BORDER as opposed to someone who is…so I guess it becomes a matter of credibility. Why are you concerned about the Flynn’s and the like and not what is happening down here. Flynn is old news. So is Trump. We have a huge problem down here….

So, let me ask you a question not concerned about the past. Do you agree with the things that are happening at the border or are you going to play Mayorkis on me…..the border is closed….don’t believe your lying eyes? I have personally seen the State Department vouchers giving the ILLEGALS money to cross..not after they get here but before. I have confiscated airline tickets, bus tickets, and detailed instructions on how to avoid the law all neatly packaged in State Department envelopes. Isn’t it amazing how all of this is not reported or acted upon? So, you asked a question on Ukraine….I will ask you a question on the Border.

Oh, I did not answer about Ukraine, did I. But if you peruse the past, as you seem to like to do, you will clearly see my position on Ukraine. And my position was contrary to what a lot of people on here have. I will clearly state it to you. It IS a European problem…let them handle it. So..what about the border?

        • Ah, the border. I believe nobody from either party, but like Jesus (my jesus, the socialist, not some fugazi God), I welcome people coming to America. Meanwhile, back in the turd pile that is the United States government, now the Secret Service looks pretty bad here. I’m sure this is one government agency, specifically on this topic, most of you will embrace as an accident … and those of us still on planet earth, we know better. 😉 https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/14/politics/secret-service-text-messages-erased/index.html?fbclid=IwAR0UCMbM19fL1tWM9Wl1DpQ_J_xJkZIHKAilZsOM8U3hVfkgUGLuGlpxOpw

          • I welcome people coming to America.
Your non answer reminded me of the song from “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”…Oh, I love a little side step..now you see me , now you don’t…

Yes, we all like legal immigrants that obey the laws…..now, how about a clear answer on the issue at hand. The drugs, guns, human trafficking, cartel control of the border….

            • Let law enforcement do its job (and not rape or murder illegals at will). That’s my answer. As regards “illegal” aliens, that’s the Jesus point. You welcome them. You take care of them. Maybe if we didn’t screw around in their countries, export guns, etc. and if we ended the absurd “war on drugs” we’d be better off. That’s my answer.

                • Charlie, you simply do not know….and this reporting that you refer to, Trapper went to the same classes that Trump did…..how to tell a lie.

First, there are no weapons exported since the Obama era. we have not caught a single export of US weapons across the border since Obama….the weapons we are catching are coming into the US and they are not resold American made weapons. They are Glocks, Sig Sauer, Beretta, Walther, Taurus, AKs, Steyr, QBA-93 (Chinese), and Type 93. These are being BROUGHT IN……So when Biden and the Senators like Feinstein, etal talk about assault weapons, they know nothing about them or their origins. All you hear them say is AR 15………..and they call everything an AR 15 as does CNN and its ilk. They KNOW NOTHING. Then, take a look at public records and see how much money the Dems take from the NRA…they ( the dems) yell and scream but have their hand out behind them getting their palm greased NOT to block the sale and importing of foreign made weapons. even the knock off AR 15s are coming from outside the US and about 1/3 of them crossing the border. I know this….i catch them.

Second, there is no law enforcement at the border. ICE has been taken out…they are no longer here. The INS is powerless and its enforcement taken out. The US border patrol has been curtailed and TOLD NOT TO ARREST. The only thing left is the National Guard, the Texas Rangers, and the Department of Public Safety. The river boats are not run by Federal officials..they are run by the State. We now have a 200 horse cavalry that is run by the State. The air assets protecting the southern border in Texas is run by the State. There are no Federal assets being utilized on the border.

Third, since I have access to the arrest records involving ILLEGAL entry, you have brought up or implied the following Let law enforcement do its job (and not rape or murder illegals at will) I reviewed the crimes listed for the entire Texas border as far back as 2002….that is 20 years….and there is not one single rape or murder charge conviction against any border patrol, Sheriff, National guard, Department of Public Safety, or Texas Ranger individual. NOT ONE.
Now I will take it a step further, these same agencies have found the following since 2015.
6,315 reported rapes by the cartel members and coyotes, 1842 dead illegals (or immigrants if you prefer) shot by the Coyotes and Cartels, 3,219 girls and babies being trucked to whorehouses across the US…of the above number, 1322 of them under the age of 16 as low as 9. You already know the amount of drugs…..and last but not least, we have captured, since 2018, over 312,000 rounds of ammunition all coming across the border from the South. i could go on but you get the gist……there is no law enforcement.

I get to see the effects of all of this and it turns my stomach. I have a great disdain for our elected officials because of this.

and finally, you stated As regards “illegal” aliens, that’s the Jesus point. You welcome them. You take care of them . This leads me to the belief that if we had open borders and no enforcement all of this would stop. Allow me to educate you on what is not reported.

This pertains to Texas and its crossing only. Los Zetos and the Gulf Cartel control the following cities on the border. Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Reynosa, across from McAllen, Nuevo Laredo, across from Laredo, Piedras Negras, across from Eagle Pass, Ciudad Acuna, across from Del Rio, Ojinaga, across from Presidio, and Juarez, across from El Paso. If the US had open borders, the smuggling would continue. The immigrants would be stopped at the border on the Mexico side and charged anywhere from $5,000 to $30,000 depending on the country. The girls would still be taken from their families, and the men still used as mules for drugs. The point being….it would not stop what is happening now. It will continue even if we had buses waiting at the border.

now, given the Biden’s family involvement in Russia and China and various other countries and their pay for play reputation……really makes one wonder about Mexico, does it not?

I do not blame the ranchers for gunning down people on their property. They are trespassing and that is serious in cattle country. I have not reported the amount of rapes and kidnappings by the illegals on the Texas side. I have not reported the amount of breakins, car thefts, and stolen cattle and horses because i fear that it would fall on deaf ears……but perhaps you need to see it for yourself and do not get your talking points from CNN and the like and that includes FOX news…….the only reliable news source that I have actually seen is NewsMax…and even then, it is washed through.

        • Charlie…it is well known in ECONOMICS 101……spending increases inflation. No Democrat NOR Republican should rubber stamp inflationary policies. The first stimulus was a disaster and it was passed with Republican support….this spending bill is no different and to pass it on this global warming bullshit…..when there is absolutely no oversight. It was determined, by the Dems own departments, that the Covid stimulus failed with, what was it, 40% of the funds that did not go to covid and there was no oversight. Why continue a policy that does not work…..no matter who brings it up. It shohuld never be partisan but in the past 50 years, there has been nothing but partisan politics no matter who is in charge.

The first stimulus fueled inflation and so does this one. Inflation is going to cost the dems the election and they do not see this.

        • By the way…who says no one should pay taxes? Certainly not me because I pay my taxes regularly as should everyone….MY beef is…..NO ONE should be exempt from taxes…..NO ONE!!! Everyone needs skin in the game….but who says Bezo’s should not pay taxes?

          • Every Republican who just downed the bill plus the two republicans in the Dem Senate. 🙂 Everyone should pay taxes is right. And America never did so well as in the 50’s 60’s as far as the middle class went … when there were loopholes, but corporations were expected to pay north of 90% in taxes. It’s over, sir. They won. Corporations won. Doesn’t make a difference whether you hate liberals, Democrats, socialists, etc … it’s over. And there’s no going back because this country is as corrupt and ignorant as any 3rd world country and the greedy have had their way and always will in this society. I’m glad to be closer to a cremation than 30 years ago when I didn’t know any better.

  39. Seriously, gals and pals, you have no problem with this? Be honest now. And if you do, why would you even pretend to give a shit about the constitution?

    • Two points……Number one, this clip is very nicely spliced together just like the show hearings about January 6…..that is number one. CNN has no credibility but I listened to it because you posted it.

Number two…Bannon DOES NOT SPEAK for the Republican party. I do not like the man and I do not listen to him so what he says means nothing to me. I am center right, I think you understand this…and I am center right because I do not believe in a lot of the social programs out there and I am not pronoun nor politically correct and do not intend to be. The majority of the center right people that I know lend no credence to Bannon and do not support the over throw of the government either outright or behind the scenes as is being done now with the Dems and the Progressive party.

I do not think there is anybody on here, me included, that will support any attempt to over throw the government. Can you name one?

Observation: Is Bannon any different than say the SCOTUS protestors offering bounty? I did not support the whatever attempt that was at the capitol anymore than I support that violating the law in the name of freedom of speech is ok……neither is.

      • Nothing has credibility to you that goes against your grain, but that’s par for the course. You couldn’t be MORE WRONG as regards Bannon and Trump (because the two go together as regards voice). They ARE the GOP right now. If you don’t see that, you’re staring into the sun too long. Also, and you really need to be honest or educate yourself about this: There is NO progressive wing or party within the Democratic Party. None. Nada. Zilch. It is, at best, a dirty pubic hair left of center and the rest is what used to be moderate Republicans.

I hope you don’t do something as stupid as the Knucklehead Revolution was on January 6, but if you don’t believe Trump attempted a coup behind the scenes, you’re hitting that crack pipe a bit too hard (that’s a joke, sir).

Well, I do hope you mean what you say regarding not wanting to violate the law. I still see a never ending “whataboutism” in everything you discuss, but that’s also par for the course. BANNON is a dirtbag, but just a small one compared to TRUMP. I’ll never understand why you guys think he’s anything other than the dishonest, cowardly, POS, dirt bag he’s always been.

        • You are correct about one thing, sir…..the Media has no credibility…right or left and I have said this before. I know and see what gets whitewashed (yes, I said White Washed) down here. I am on the front lines. But that is ok…I do not ask you to believe me because it does not come from talking points or media. That is the only information you get…as far as the border. I was not wrong at all, by the way. Every single one of those persons you listed were picked up for a variety of things not having to do with immigrants, and a quick look at the names, none happened in Texas. Most of them in California and the one that mentioned immigrants, mentioned alleged anyway. But that is not the point is it? The point is the only thing that I reported was what i found looking at the arrest records in Texas. You will also notice that I left out drugs….a whole lot of issues dealing with drugs on the border and I have personnel in my own command trying to deal drugs. When I catch them (those that I am responsible for) I throw them out of the army with a dishonorable discharge..or try to. IF they are officers (and I have had one) I was successful in the court martial having their commission dissolved and thrown out with a dishonorable. They were part of the problem and the money is huge. IF, and that is IF, there is any rape, murder, proliferation within my command and those civilians assigned to…they will rue the day. Do not paint with broad brush.

As to Bannon and Trump……I will confess that I was like our friend Mathius, who mentioned many times that he would vote for an axe murderer before he voted Republican….it was the same with me. I would have voted for Charles Manson before voting for Clinton. The lesser of two evils…..in my opinion, of course. Now, as a matter of record, I have voted for many Democrats as well…especially in Texas…but none recently (last 15 years). There are a lot of great Democrats on down ballots that are conservative thinking. Today’s Democratic Party has been hijacked and I do not know why. The Progressive wing is real and exists and is dangerous because I am not a socialist nor a communist nor believe in collectivism. I do not believe in the theory of the “greater good”. I believe in individualism and the survival of the fittest. Unfortunately, that spirit has been taken over by politics. It ceased to exist long ago. Now everything is partisan…on both sides. You happen to believe otherwise and therein, you and I are not in agreement on a lot of things but we are in agreement on a lot….if you would just admit it.

One thing, Charlie, you know me well enough from our previous contacts, that I am center right but I DO NOT……as a commissioned Officer…do not abide by coups of any kind and consider coups or anything similar to be against the Constitution and my sworn oath to defend the Constitution. As an officer, I would not participate in any such attempt even if ordered by a sitting POTUS. Such orders would be immoral.

I do not quote and news media as a source…none are to be trusted. The only one that comes close is NewsMAx…and even then, I reserve opinion. But one thing I do know….I do know the border and what goes on and what is and is not reported. I do not allow the media to accompany us anywhere. The only place they are allowed (yes, allowed) in my area is the main crossing bridge of Del Rio and the crossing point in Presidio. NO WHERE ELSE and that is by choice. They are not to be trusted to report correctly. NONE OF THEM. My area extends from Del Rio to Presidio. The realism is this…..just today, it has been reported to me that 7 more dead bodies were found out in the desert. One of them from snake bite, 4 of them from dehydration, one drowned, and one shot in the back of the head. This is common here….as common as you getting up in the morning. We are used to it now…..except for the new young soldiers who have never seen grotesque death up close. anyway, enough of that. I do not make policy but have to follow it like the good soldier that I am….

One last thing. I was not part of anything having to do with January 6. Nor did I support it at all. I did not support Trump in trying to change the electoral vote…if he did. ( I do not believe 90% of the hearings). Now, admittedly I did not watch a single moment because I knew it to be a Kangaroo Court and would not waste my time. I have read about some of the one sided things that were said and did lend it what credence I felt it was worth.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the “whataboutism” you mentioned. Well, sir, you are a champion purveyor of whataboutism…you are very good at it and it is plausible from both sides. The hypocrisy of our politics right now…..makes me want to even move to Pluto….but you know those dust mites…..

          • Good stuff … and I do agree with likely agree on more than we differ. You’ll be shocked (I’m sure of this) that I actually voted for Trump as a protest vote against the Democrats for shoving Clinton down the country’s throat. I didn’t expect he’d win, but was happy as a pig in shit when he did. I know him from NY (not personally) but I actually worked on his Trump Tower (hauling sheet rock and tapers mud, pure labor) back in the day). I was find with some of his moves (getting out of Afghanistan, for one) but the tax breaks were, I’m sure, a device of McConell, et al. My protest vote was silly and I wouldn’t do it again. I’d just stay home, which I almost did in 2020 (voting for the socialist workers party instead). I think there were, like, 5 or 6 thousand of us. So it goes. I have zero use for Biden and most democrats. I like Katie Porter a lot, but she was quickly dispatched from the finance committee by (wait for it) Maxine Waters (that sellout) because she embarrassed CEO’s. My whataboutism goes one way, against capitalism. Again, no need to worry, the country is owned by corporations and there are no longer any levers to take them down. So, they win, we all lose. I cannot speak to the border except for what I gather from the margins on YouTube and substacks (they’ve been pushed there by corporate media) … so when they took down RT, for instance, and a program where Chris Hedges (one of my political heroes) interview authors … well, that’s how powerful corporations are. I don’t doubt your honesty about the border, but I do wonder if you can assign any blame ever to a foreign policy that engages in military coups, clandestine coups, etc. (watching John Bolton laughing about coups he was involved in was pretty disgusting) … for instance, Allende in Chile … democratically elected, sanctioned by the US because he wouldn’t bend the knee and eventually overthrown by a psychotic right wing general (Pinochet) … it is amazing how many fascist and tyrants the U.S. embraces, while declaring itself above the ground on human rights. I look at America these days as the “bad guys” around the world. We do much more harm than good, it seems to me. Our military interventions seem insane yet we don’t learn. But again, corporations rule the roost. I hope you are well. I have no beef with you or your positions. Dust mites make the world go round, I suspect. All best.

Loved Charlies Border Patrol Agents raping people. all the referenced article showed was 2009-2015 stuff. Guess we can blame Barack for creating a “climate” of rape.

Now what is the estimate on raped by trafficker’s? This is, I believe called, mis-direction. Sort of like equating the 1 vs. 100 abortion clinics bombed to the churches and crisis centers burnt. Nazi’s and Commies used to do a lot of that stuff. Another term is false equivalency because the equivalency is NEVER the same, not even close but I prefer the mis-direction label.

Using the same standard, take an equivalent number from large organization, say, United Federation of Teachers members and see how many you can come up with. Probably the same. Say, what can you say about all those rapists of color?

All bad guys tend to do their bad stuff within groups they can control. They can be sports medicine guys specializing in kids, teachers, workers at orphanages, child care providers, “uncles”. as the late, great bank robber Willie Sutton said (and my Dad never tired of quoting) ” I rob banks because that’s where the money is.”

    • Interesting from the article…….”“a young child who was sexually molested by someone we believe to be a CBP or Border Patrol Officer … The young girl was forced to undress and touched inappropriately by a guard wearing green”.The Border Patrol uniform is green.

The uniform of the Mexican Police is green. The uniform of the Mexican border agents is green. In this particular incident, the article went on to say “Human Rights Watch said that the documents “paint a picture of DHS as an agency that appears to have normalized shocking abuses at the US border.”

This article on this incident did not say on which side of the border the incident happened. A conclusion was they “believe” the incident was by a CBP person. No convictions….no court cases.

Now, there are idiots in the Border Patrol and as Charlie pointed out, they are not sacrosanct. And the article was written by the Guardian….an ok rag, I suppose but cannot comment. I do not read it. However, in my area, I have not seen it nor heard a single report. But I am only concerned about the national Guard, the Department of Public Safety, and/or the Texas Rangers as well as the State Guard.

But i liken the reports to the same conclusion reached about horses and whipping illegals. It did not happen..not even close to happening. But it was sure reported…..however, I just chalk it up to people who do not know (a) how to ride a horse) (b) how to use a horse to control a crowd, and (c) what split reins are and how to use them.

  41. S Kent Troy says:

Believing that there are other things of interest beside politics I offer for your amusement and enjoyment some thoughts on :

    Pondering trans

Yesterday I got to listen to an “authority” explain that the reason transgender suicide numbers are identical in cases where the transition has been done and has not been done is because, the “all new me” has NOT been properly accepted by society. Therefore the trans person feels rejected and kills themselves.

“Authority” these days is akin to witchcraft (which, truth be told, is probably more useful). What “Authority” is lacking these days is knowledge of the entire cannon of Western philosophy including the newcomers Psychiatry and Psychology.

Sir Thomas of Occam (1280-1349) created something which used to serve us well for centuries. The concept that if confronted with two possible explanations for something. Go with the more simple one. Occam’s razor.

In the case of transgenderism to blame it on perceptions of persons, society, the individual and various combinations of non-acceptance (real or perceived) takes a whole lot of effort. Falling back on the old hypothesis that the individual in question has severe mental problems is much more likely. Those problems cannot be addressed by hormones nor surgery.

Of course NOT all cases are the same. In human life, one size never fits all but generalizations are usually right for the vast majority. In science when you get into a huge number of “variables” you get into trouble. Authorities these days tend to add more and more variables to explain the failure of their hypotheses. But, But, But, But is never a good answer.

    • S Kent Troy says:

No use for Bolton, no use for neo-cons, neo-libs or any other neo. Not into nation building. not into “Saving the World for Democracy”. Probably was in high school or early college when I first said, “Any country can do what it damn well pleases within its own borders. If that means executing blue eyed left handed people as witches, fine. When they cross a border to do it elsewhere is when we (the world) should get involved”. Understand?

  42. Here is the thing that is so difficult to understand about your trust in Border Agents (or pretty much anything that defends your cause/ideology). Border Agents are no different than are cops or the FBI or the military. There are good and bad in all of them. How anyone can assume one or any of them is infallible to the darker nature of men in general is astounding. You defend them as if they are pristine men. They are not. There might be a few bad apples. There might be more. The culture of the military and now law enforcement turns more and more toward a police state (thank both parties) and power, gentlemen, in any form, leads to corruption (i.e., all power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely). American men are NOT immune. And lord/the universe knows there are always criminals who get away with their crimes. Step out of the bubble and recognize reality for what it is. It’s not a bumper sticker (i.e., Make America Great Again), that’s for sure. And what did Mr. Trump do with a convicted war criminal? Pardoned him, further strengthening the military state. The “law and order” President who loves the people who attacked the police at the Capitol. Your symbol of America was desecrated by a selfish wannabe mob boss … the “law and order” president.

    • S Kent Troy says:

One could laugh in a way how so many so called “conservatives” applauded the Patriot Act back in ’01 which is of course now being used against them.

      Which war criminal?

      Who really is Ray Epps?

How about the “Police” who opened the doors and provided the guided tours?

    • Interesting from the article…….”“a young child who was sexually molested by someone we believe to be a CBP or Border Patrol Officer … The young girl was forced to undress and touched inappropriately by a guard wearing green”.The Border Patrol uniform is green.

Charlie did provide the documentation on the individuals some, most, at least 7-13 years back. But, as the man says I know there are bad everything from Rabbi’s to Priests to airline pilots who do drugs to doctors who molest pre pubescent gymnasts to actors, to corporate board members to statisticians to reporters to everything. But always, except for TV reporters apparently in tiny numbers. But, what the hell, tar everyone to distract and make your point.

    • S Kent Troy says:

Ya see, if there was one there were a thousand. he was just more enthusiastic. Who could possibly ever believe the FBI after Waco?

  44. Curious … what do any of you say about 187 minutes of Trump watching television during the attack on the Capitol? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rl6Tyl-NwI

    • S Kent Troy says:

Was Adam Kizinger standing next to him. More hearsay and innuendo, remember how two weeks ago Trump leaped over the seat to seize control of teh vehicle?

How’s your friend Ray Epps doing? Don’t see any subpoenas going his way do I?

    • Both of the links you posted, I guess they were the same link, are dead now. Why is that?

      • SUFA control? 🙂

        • Don’t forget to watch Thursday night … what did Trump do for 187 minutes after his crowd attacked the POLICE (so much for a law and order president) and the Capitol … the first tweet he sent out put his VP at risk for his life. I can’t wait until Thursday night. I’ll have Popcorn and children’s blood at the ready. 🙂

  45. You must be a Q-whacko, my brother. Why not take a look-see at the facts of those 187 minutes. 3 hours and the first tweet he sends out condemns his VP. Excuse me while I go to our basement and drink some children’s blood. 🙂

      • The “other side” running the show. You’re hilarious. Really. Seriously. You’re almost as entertaining as Bunker Boy. I can’t imagine the headaches you must get from living inside your mind. 🙂

WTH…saw a report out of Italy this AM. This segment was from a US source tonight. Transhipping weapons elsewhere. God I hope the people in the EU shut their leaders down on the weapons transfers to Ukraine. And congress stops Biden after Nov. Macon lost his majority in parliament. Johnson is gone. Estonia government fell. Italy’s technically fell but mattaralla an appointed president refused Mario Draghis resignation. Seeing matatella appointed him to to begin with..

A Ukrainian cargo plane carrying 11 tons of weapons, including mortar shells and land mines, crashed in a fireball explosion in northern Greece.

The Antonov An-12 light aircraft, which was transporting the weapons from Serbia to Bangladesh, had eight Ukrainian crew members onboard.

All eight Ukrainian crew members were killed in the fiery crash.

Footage shows the plane falling out of the sky, with weapons onboard exploding for more than two hours.

  47. Wow… cant wait to see if this hits the news…..Georgetown, Texas, a liberal suburb of Austin, chose to go totally green 3 years ago…..totally, as a town. After numerous blackouts, loss of electricity because solar grids did not work….batteries would not last all day on cloudy days, water systems broke down, traffic lights quit working, and costs rose by over 30%…….enough of this shit, so says the liberal city council. It does not work…..now back on to coal fired plants and oil based energy…..they have operating lights, water sustenance that does not fail and operating costs dropped 28 % in first year…..

Probably not news worthy….but just thought you would be interested.

    • On a related subject…good friend of mine…center left on his politics (meaning he is fiscally conservative but more liberal socially), bought a two new cars…one total electric and one hybrid. Takes his total electric car on a road trip to New Mexico,,,,Santa Fe. Took him two days to drive 600 miles in a total electric car. He could not go direct to Santa Fe because no charging stations along his route. He said that he got about 250 miles per charge at 65 mph and it took about 90 minutes and $45 to get a one half charge at the charging stations.

He had to drive to Albuquerque, then north to Santa Fe…..when he got to Santa Fe, an all night charge cost $73. He is now trying to sell his all electric car and cannot…..no one will buy it, not even Austin or Dallas.

      • I’ve heard the EXACT opposite stories about Electric cars, sir. EXACT opposite.

        • Saw this in the Wall street journal, however, I am totally ignorant on electric cars. I do not want one so I do not care..just reporting what my friend said. I do know that I am looking for a new Ford 150 pickup truck. My old one has 250k miles on it. I went by the Ford Dealership and saw a plethora of new electric cars sitting on the lot. I am not surprised at it because we like our SUV’s and pickups. Nobody here is buying them very much. But there is also a reason. They may be good for inner city use but not on ranch’s or country use. There was a hybrid pickup there that I looked at but they wanted $70k for it and I just laughed. But I asked a couple of pertinent questions. First, according to this dealer, they do not come in 4 wheel drive. Second, the gear ratio is limited as to the size and weight of trailer it can pull. They just have not made a truck that can function properly for ranch or heavy work.

I did find the following in the Wall Street Journal.

Avery Siwinski who is 17 years old was excited to get a car to drive herself to and from school. Her parents spent $11,000 on a used electric car for her. It’s a Ford Focus Electric. The car is a 2014 model, with 60,000 miles. Avery Siwinski had her car for six months before her dashboard started to light up with problematic symbols.

“Turns out, this is a pretty common problem for this particular car,” Ray Siwinski said.

The car has sat at Ford Auto Nation in Pinellas County for the last few months. Ray said he was able to get a quote on a replacement battery for the electric car.

“The Ford dealership had advised us that we could replace the battery,” he said. “It would only cost $14,000.”

$3,000 more than what the family bought the car for. And that quote didn’t include installation and labor costs, Ray Siwinski said.

Ray shared that Auto Nation offered to buy the car off him, offering him $500 for it.

After weeks of research, Ray Siwinski said there aren’t any other options to fix the car.

“Then we found out the batteries aren’t even available,” he said. “So it didn’t matter. They could cost twice as much and we still couldn’t get it.”

But in fairness, I simply do not know anything about them…just do not want them.

I did find the following in the Wall Street Journal this morning from Florida…

  48. No, Kinzinger wasn’t in the White House with Trump during the 187 minutes he watched the Capitol being attacked in the Knucklehead Revolution with HIS people carrying HIS flags … but Bunker Boy allowed a documentarian to film inside the WH, including during January 6 … and we have videos of BB watching television, his people attacking the police … and we have testimony from HIS political appointees … but somehow that’s all fake news, eh? You guys kill me. 🙂

    • He watched all the news stations and read all the news articles. I don’t see the problem with him allowing a film crew to capture an important day. Good, bad, or ugly it is/was history. If you followed Trump at all during both campaigns and during his term, he always brings history into the speech.

How come out of the hundreds of Trump rallies no one ever attacked the police? Call me crazy if you want, Feds were all over the place on Jan 6. Did you see the one where they shook down the one guy…he refused to answer any questions because cameras were rolling….woops, it slipped on hot mic that the guy they were shaking down admitted he was a FED himself.

HIS political appointees were only who Mitch would allow to be appointed. The swamp protects itself. I’m not in denial though that Trump made some bad picks himself. But its not like Trump messed anything up all by himself. AND He didn’t get us into the mess to begin with.

      • I agree that Trump is a symptom of the American problem and not the cause. The cause we’re going to have to live with until the empire finally crumbles, we ignore climate change until it kills, or a nuclear war. The corporations won … but … but … but … what he did leading up to and during January 6 is an undeniable series of crimes that if ignored, speed the plow on the end of empire. At 66, except for how my grandchildren will have to deal with the future, I couldn’t care less anymore. I want him held to account the way friends of mine were held to account for a LOT less. Don’t work for Bezos, Anita … not without a union. 🙂

  49. MSNBC host Katy Tur wonders if she’s doing “more harm than good” as a journalist as trust in the media has dwindled in recent years.

“People don’t trust us,” Tur said last week.
“It can be a bit demoralizing, and then on top of that, there was just a Gallup poll out today that shows that the trusts in media – newspapers and television – is hitting an all-time low,” she said. Only 16% of Americans said they have a “great deal or quite a lot” of confidence in newspapers in 2022, a 5% drop compared to the 2021 findings, according to Gallup. It was the lowest number to give those answers since Gallup started asking about newspapers in 1973.Television news has Americans even more concerned in 2022, as a dismal 11% told Gallup they have a “great deal or quite a lot” of confidence in the industry. That figure is down from the 16% who were confident in TV news last year, also a nadir.”People don’t trust us, they don’t believe us, and it makes me wonder if this job, as I am currently doing it, is effective, but if it’s doing more harm than good,” Tur said. “I don’t have a good answer for that, though, those thoughts linger in the back of my mind. They linger though because I do love it and I think it’s important and I’m hoping to find a way to better communicate with people.”

    YA think?

    • The media is corporate owned. Go the fringes (where they pushed most people who dissent with this crumbling empire). I use Breaking Points (a conservative and a progressive) and they tend to bang on the Dems more than the GOP, but don’t look for sympathy for Trump there. Both of them are too educated to see that clown for anything other than he is.

  50. I have tried to post a link to Just the News (justthenews.com) about an article on the 2020 election highlighting all illegal things that happened. Somehow it never appears here. Please go directly to JTN and scroll down to find the article.

  51. Mayor of Washington DC upset over the amount of illegals being bused from Texas and Arizona. She is saying” we cannot afford to have them here…it is too costly.” We have no place to put them.”

Well, can you say DUH! Washington DC is now becoming a border state…….welcome. Wonder if the administration will listen now?

  52. Here’s Breaking Points today … you can find them on YouTube. I pay to subscribe $100 a year (it doesn’t have to be $100) … They aren’t the only ones I use, but I prefer this fact: The woman I agree with, Krystal Ball, was fired from MSNBC for suggesting Hillary Clinton NEVER should’ve been the nominee in 2016. We were both Sanders supporters, but both (me more so) have less sympathy for Bernie for his ultimate caving in to a corrupt to the core party and becoming part of the problem. Sagaar worked for Tucker and defends him whenever he can, but he is a conservative and enjoys going after the Dems. They’re both pretty fair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcdZYNDiwQs

  53. He said if he lost in 2016, the election would be rigged. He won.
He said it again in 2020, and although Republicans faired far better than expected in the House, Trump insists the election was rigged. He ignores the FACT many people refused to vote for either Trump or Biden and voted down ballot in key states (like Georgia, where 28,000 didn’t vote for President). All his so-called theories were tossed from courts with Trump appointed judges and others. NONE of his so-called evidence was ever delivered.

And here’s Steve Bannon telling the knuckleheads Trump’s plan to call the election rigged. WTF with you gals and pals. What else do you need? 🙂

  54. My posts are going into a black hole.

  55. Charlie…..have a question for you. Why are you so obsessed with Trump? He is not POTUS and I doubt he will even run again. The man is gone….the man in his place will go down as the worst POTUS since Jimmy Carter…I do not know whom the Republicans will run….I have no idea. But, anyone is better than Pinocchio now. But whom?

  56. I’m obsessed with the FACT he 1) attempted to defraud the country, 2) abused the office, 3) planned and incited a violet revolution (knuckleheaded that it was), 4) he committed a series of crimes you or me and or anyone else would spent 10-20 years in jail for. It seems the people of this country on both sides have lost a ton of respect and trust in the government in general. He made it 10x’s worse than it already was. The Dems claim “no one is above the law” yet I suspect they won’t prosecute him (which leaves me hating how corrupt the entire government has become). His prosecution, just like the January 6 hearings, won’t make a substantive difference in the lives of the working class and poor, but I consider it a last ditch chance to restore “some” trust in government. If he gets a pass, it means we have no government. Just corporations pulling strings the same way the mob used to. Biden is horrendous, but you forget that he’s a LOT closer to the old Republican Party than to the Old Democratic Party. Both parties are subservient to corporate coin. My guess is he won’t allow a prosecution of Trump because he knows once the GOP has the House, he’ll be next to be investigated for real (as he should be) for his Hunter Biden issues with Ukraine. I think you’re very safe in 2024 as regards the WH. Biden has imploded with his old Republican policies and the Dems have no one. You guys will wind up with Trump (unless he is prosecuted and convicted and can’t run again) or DeSantis (another psychotic like Trump, but a lot smarter and polished). America is fucked. Either way, it’s fucked.

  57. New York City and Washington DC begging for Federal resources to help with the influx of illegal immigrants.

I have an idea….how about they take care of them with their own resources like Texas and Arizona who have been denied Federal funds.

    • S Kent Troy says:

It is in fact a wonderful thing to behold. Cannot wait for the new recruits to MS-13 to take center stage. told the bride, despite being in the semi-affluent suburbs might just be time to place the 12 Gauge nearer the front door.

  58. Suddenly everybody else is lying and Trump is telling the truth? 🙂 He lies …

  59. Just A Citizen says:

Charlie keeps bringing up some number of people who did not vote in Georgia for POTUS.

For the life of me I do not see why this is important or how it is indicative of anything.

For the record, Mr. Trump got almost 400,000 more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016, within the state of Georgia.

    • The other thing you guys conveniently ignore … Republicans did great that night. How did they win in battleground states Biden won in? Because people didn’t vote for Bunker Boy or Biden. They ignored the presidential ticket. Or they voted for Biden to replace one disease with a less harmful disease. 🙂

      • Just A Citizen says:

        Charlie

Who is it you think has ignored that information? We discussed it here at length as it lends credence to the theory of fraudulent votes for Biden. Since those that vote R or D for Senators usually vote the same way for POTUS.

  60. And Biden “got” more votes than Trump. Painful, isn’t it.

How do you not watch this tonight? 🙂

187 minutes (3 hours, 7 minutes) shit-for-brains, the “law and order” president watches with glee as his moronic minions attack the POLICE. I’m leaving work early tonight to make sure I catch every one of those 187 minutes. Have a good day, MF’ers. 🙂

    • Just A Citizen says:

You have already made up your mind on Mr. Trump. So why in the world would you waist 187 minutes of your life watching that???

And you did not answer my question. Why are the non voters in Georgia important? What does their existence supposedly prove to you?

  61. Just A Citizen says:

Look at the credentials for those who wrote this “opinion” piece. Just one more example of how our higher education system has FAILED.

We are in trouble down here……the rattlesnake saw its shadow and there is 6 more weeks of triple digit heat…..

    • Besides, I have nothing to do since the Biden administration said the border is secure….

securely in the hands of the cartels…makes one wonder how much kickback is going to the Biden’s.

      • New numbers on the border rape victims…….no border issues on the US side however, the new numbers (as of yesterday) are showing that 64% of the females are sexually abused or raped on the Mexico side of the border….and those numbers are just the ones reported. The youngest so far is 6 years old and that was a gang rape.

      • How’s Trump’s wall doing? And has Mexico paid for it yet? 🙂

        • Just A Citizen says:

Mr. Trump got quite a bit of his wall built. Now while people claim Mexico did not pay a dime, they forget how Mr. Trump imposed some tariffs on Mexico and then pushed them into paying for greater migration controls. Thus slowing the mass migration to a trickle.

So the effort to secure the border did cost Mexico something. But it is correct they did not pay directly for building the wall.

But then I never met anyone who voted for Mr. Trump who thought direct payment was a real thing.

          • Yes, the people who voted for Trump suspended all sense of reality, that’s for sure. Just make believe … working very well.

            • Just A Citizen says:

I will grant you one thing, in part.

Many who voted for Mr. Trump have in fact suspended their belief in reality. When faced with hard facts they just blow it off.

But that is largely due to the reality that we can no longer trust the institutions we need to determine reality. The media and opinion leaders are suffering from that syndrome of crying wolf a little to often.

One could also say the same of you and those on the left. There is much that is real about the conspiracies to overturn Mr. Trump’s presidency that you will not acknowledge. You assume that Mr. Biden got over 20 million more votes that the most popular Democrat President since FDR, or maybe even JFK, while hiding in his basement, only because others told you it was all on the up and up.

Hint: Recounting votes that include illegal ballots is not validation of the election. It is just validation of the counting.

My caveat to that is the reality that outliers in statistics exist. Just because an event belies the “norm” does not in itself mean it is not valid or true. Anomalies do happen.

              • You say: “I will grant you one thing, in part.

I say: I agree. Totally. The media is corporate owned, as is the government. Capitalism eating itself.

You say: One could also say the same of you and those on the left. There is much that is real about the conspiracies to overturn Mr. Trump’s presidency that you will not acknowledge. I say: I can only believe Biden received 20 million more (8 million more than Trump) because Trump had become so repulsive by election day. I accept that figure. I find it amazing 74 million voted for Trump. Also, as regards the “left” … there is none in the Democratic Party. I’m a socialist. I’d like to see both parties banished to jail for their corruption. I don’t kid myself about Biden and the Democrats. You guys, maybe not you, but most at SUFA can’t imagine being wrong about Trump and it’s all Biden and the dems. Calling them radical is comical. Calling the Dems socialists is even funnier.

You say: “Hint: Recounting votes that include illegal ballots is not validation of the election. It is just validation of the counting.

I say: Not a single piece of evidence AND/OR theory brought to court where plaintiffs (Trump) had to prove the votes were tainted, etc., was considered viable by Trump appointed Judges as well as democratic judges. When Bannon was telling ALL OF YOU that Trump was going to say he won whether he did or not (3 DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION), ALL OF YOU conveniently ignored that fact … plus the FACT that he did in 2016 (claim if he lost it was rigged) and even after winning the electoral count and losing the popular vote he had to make up a lie about 4 million illegal votes in California. The guy is a pathological liar. Always was/always will be. How on earth you can defend this POS to this day is mind boggling.

You say: “My caveat to that is the reality that outliers in statistics exist. Just because an event belies the “norm” does not in itself mean it is not valid or true. Anomalies do happen.”

I say: True, but when you can prove it and you continue to claim it’s true … and when EVERY-F’N-BODY around you tells you it’s BULLSHIT … I mean, come on man! 😊

                • Look at this pathetic moron … from the Post today (one of your friendly papers) … as regards last nights hearing:

Former President Donald Trump raged on his social media site Truth Social after Thursday’s hearing by the House select committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot, saying at one point that “the USA is going to hell.”

While the committee highlighted the 45th president’s inaction for more than three hours as his supporters laid siege to Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, Trump accused the panel of spreading “lies.”

“The Unselects are embarrassed by their ‘performance’ tonight!” the former president wrote shortly after the primetime hearing was adjourned.

Throughout his posts, Trump repeated his frequent claim that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had turned down his offer to send 10,000 National Guard troops to Washington ahead of the riot, and asked why the “unselect committee” — his moniker for the panel — hadn’t addressed the issue.

                  • I still do not know why you are so obsessed with Trump..he is old news.

Let me make an assumption here…..I will assume that it is correct that there was an attempt at obstructing the electoral vote count. ( I am still not sure what the outpouring was about but I will give it to you)…..so, it did not work. trump is old news. He has done nothing that past administrations have not done…..such as committing murder in Benghazi. ( I still not have forgotten that one myself because I lost a friend there). But, it is old news. I know that Bitch Clinton will never be prosecuted because of it so it is old. news. I will not forget it but I do not obsess over it.

Trump is gone…why cant you leave it alone? What is it, from a Socialist point of view, that really bothers you? As a Socialist, you should not be too concerned because that is what socialist countries do all the time. They rig votes, kill their contemporaries….etc. So, being in the United States and an avowed Socialist…what really bothers you? Is it that you still consider people like Trump a threat to Socialism? You should me MORE upset at what is happening with the SCOTUS protestors.

I think it is a fair question for me to ask about why you are obsessed with Trump. I really want to learn and this question is a serious one.

                    • Because, for one thing: He violated several federal criminal laws and has not been held to account yet … but more importantly, especially as Trumpists attempt and in some cases win state houses/Governorships and Secretaries of States, it can and will happen again, only more successfully by smarter people than Trump (which could be a 5 year old) but DeSantis, for one. They’ve already tried it in New Mexico (declaring an election rigged where a Trumpist lost). You claim to value your country and constitution … and apparently are willing to allow Trump to be “old news” … I call bullshit. It’s like the marriage between Evangelicals and Trump … even if Jesus wasn’t the socialist I believe he was (an actual human being and not the divine son of god) … if he were a son of god, I have no doubt he’d reject trump without batting an eyelash. How you can ignore Trump and what he did to attempt to steal an election he clearly lost, while tooting the SUFA song of America, is beyond logic.

                    • Ok, sir…..(assuming he violated several Federal Laws) and has not been held liable, let us take it further. isn’t that a symptom of what has been created in Washington DC? Does not every POTUS violate Federal Laws? Bush did, Obama did, Biden has and is still violating a variety of Federal Laws. THIS is the symptom I am talking about. Not the individual. I am not afraid of Trump…nor am I afraid of Biden. I am afraid of the swamp that has been created and the power behind the thrones that are untouched.

So, will you agree with me, that if you feel that Trump should be held accountable, do you feel that all the other POTUS’ should be held accountable in the same manner? All the secretary’s of State, and all the appointed officials that backed each and every POTUS that violated any law, whether civil or criminal should be likewise punished?

Yes, Trump is old news and should be except if he tries to run again. I do not think he will. IF he does run again, then I hope there is a viable solution running against him.

But, let me tell you why I liked Trump. I followed the Mathius rule of voting for an axe murderer before voting for Trump. I voted Trump because he ran against Clinton, who is more crooked than a sidewinder on a hot afternoon. I voted Trump for three reasons….first, his foreign policy was one that I believed in. He did not care who he pissed off and I agree with that. He held their feet to the fire and I agree with that and still do. I believe in America first. We may have to get along with the world but we have no obligation to uphold the world. (2). I do not care how he ran his business as a citizen. He is no different than any other capitalist and used what ever policy was available. He was no different than any other venture capitalist out there. However, he did understand a balance sheet and its effect on money. I agreed with his tax cuts and redefining the way things were allocated on the US Balance sheet and he fought the swamp in these areas. and (3) he believed in closing the border and did an excellent job in doing that. I believe in that and the only way to defeat the Cartels on the Mexican border is to fight them and make it hard to operate. He did that. This is why he got my vote.

I disagreed with many of his other policies….and his big mouth.

Now, much to the disagreement in philosophy with others on here, I do not want him to run again. I think it would not be a good thing. I hope there is a viable candidate to run against him. But, if it comes down to trump or a Democrat? It will be Trump again for my vote. There is no viable Democratic candidate that I can vote for now but I am open to suggestion. It cannot be Biden, MS Obama, Harris or sanders…..bring me someone else.

        • Well, the wall is doing just fine. We picked up where Biden left off with one caveat. There are millions of dollars of fencing sitting in yards around the border. Beautiful fencing just stacked up, in the weather, rusting away…..miles of it.

Texas offered to buy it but it was not for sale. So, we are erecting our own fencing and the original fencing is just sitting there still and the Biden Administration honored the contracts anyway. They paid the builders NOT TO build the fence…and would not try to offset that buy selling the unused fencing to Texas.

Everyone, except the mentally challenged, knows that the fence is not nor was not designed to keep people out but it was/is designed to channel people to particular spots and that works.

As to Mexico paying for it……slight of hand in accounting for it….raised tariffs was a big part of it. But, as JAC said, there was no check written for the wall….so…tomatoes or TOHMAHTOES……

      Colonel

The trip was mostly about seeing places we had not been in Idaho. Spousal Unit Leader was very happy as the wildflowers were blooming pretty much all across the State once you got above 4,000 ft or so.

We crossed, on purpose, every major fork of the Salmon River on the trip (N.Fk, East Fk., Middle Fork, and the South Fork.). Bonus was also seeing the east fork of the south fork. If that ain’t a mouthful. Drove the only east-west route in the State that is not one of the two major interstates. All dirt roads for about 200 miles.

Beautiful country with hundreds of thousands of acres burned over these past ten years. At least with all the burns we could see much farther than usual. Big surprise was lack of big game wildlife. Saw some deer, mule and white tail and even a black bear cub. But no elk or moose, even while in what should have been prime habitat. Going to have to do some research to find out why.

Did end up with one day of fishing at the very end. The Cutthroat were very aggressive along with some Bull Trout and Steelhead juveniles. Got home yesterday. Will take days to get the dust out of everything.

Now, why have you not yet taken me up on helping organize that Cavalry Unit. I can handle the horse part, even the rattlesnakes, but you are scaring me with the HEAT predictions.

      • Yeah…this is one of those years that the drought is really bad with the weather systems of La Nina and El Nino keeping the jet stream further North…..Happens every 15 to 20 years or so…..the last real heat wave we had was in 1980. It is cyclical and always has been for say…. the last 10,000 years. Pretty normal…we don’t like it but we know how to deal with it.

I am quite sure this is global warming from those SUV’s and cow farts of 10,000 years ago.

  63. Just A Citizen says:

Democrat leadership in Congress has become an absolute joke.

With all that is going on in this country and abroad, they focus on passing a bill to protect contraception access. As if anyone is trying to limit access. Of course this was because of SCOTUS supposedly “firing a warning shot”. Again, allowing Govt to function according to the Constitution is not undermining access to contraception.

We also have moves to legislate abortion access, trying to cut off the States doing their job.

I see they are also working with the usual Republicant’s to redo federal election laws. That would be the rules governing how the Electoral votes are counted along with the role of the Congress in reviewing them. Big surprise, they are proposing to make it much harder to challenge the votes of a State during the final certification. And of course the VP as Senate President will CLEARLY BE CEREMONIAL.

The irony in this last piece of work is that by pressing it they are admitting that the issue of secondary Electors, as Mr. Trump’s crew was proposing, is NOT illegal. They are proposing rules that would prevent such efforts in the future. Meaning they were possible before. On this topic, I forced myself to read all the laws pertinent to certification and Congress approving the EC votes. Thus picking the winners. I thought they were already straight forward on these issues. It is the States who have the authority, per the Constitution, to decide how to deal with competing electors. So once certified by the State that is a done deal.

What is missing in this proposed legislative effort is anything dealing with how to handle accusations of fraudulent vote counts in a timely manner or when the final certification should be delayed to allow challenges to play out.

    • Yeah, those damn democrats. Why not ban sex altogether? 50 years of precedent thrown out by religious lunatics … both parties are corrupt to the core, but you only have eyes for the Dems. You’re hilarious.

      • Just A Citizen says:

Moronic arguments will not win the day. “Religious lunatics”??? Really???? “Ban sex”??? Good lord man.

I know you are smarter than that so why not show it?

My criticism of the “Democrat Leadership” is just that. Oh, and they are the ones’ driving the legislative bus, so you would have me criticize the party that is doing nothing. That makes a lot of sense.

Since you are so stuck on “50 years of precedent”, should we have kept slavery alive or the Jim Crow laws, or segregation in schools? Because you know there was “50 years of precedent”.

  64. Senator Hawley asked TSA Administrator David Pekoske at a Senate hearing about a TSA policy that allows illegal immigrants to use warrants, which represent civil immigration enforcement and are not criminal arrest warrants, as an alternative form of identification.”For noncitizens and non-U.S. nationals who do not otherwise have acceptable forms of ID for presentation at security checkpoints, TSA may also accept certain DHS-issued forms, including ICE Form I-200,” a TSA spokesperson told Fox News earlier this year. That refers to a civil immigration arrest warrant. The agency added that the document will then be validated via an “alien identification number” that involves personally identifiable information being checked against a number of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) databases, including the CBP One mobile application and TSA’s National Transportation Vetting Center (NTVC).Hawley pushed the TSA chief on why he would allow illegal immigrants with such a warrant onto a flight at all.

“We aren’t looking at whether a person is legal or illegal in the country,” he said. “Our role is to make sure that people who may pose a risk to transportation that is significant enough to require enhanced screening or to not allow them to fly.”

“So your position is someone who is known to have violated the laws of the United States does not thereby need enhanced screening?” Hawley said.

    =====================

So, we are worried about pronouns, ridiculous global warming claims, cashless bail, etc and we are allowing WANTED ARREST FELONS on airplanes using arrest warrants as identification and we are not ARRESTING these people.

The TSA Chief went on to say, “We aren’t looking at whether a person is legal or illegal in the country,” he said. “Our role is to make sure that people who may pose a risk to transportation that is significant enough to require enhanced screening or to not allow them to fly.”

Ummmm…color me wrong here, but isn’t there something drastically wrong? Isn’t this a symptom of what the Democratic Party, or any party for that matter, is allowing our country to become? Allowing felons to use arrest warrants as an ID and not arresting them on the spot? The excuse being that they, the TSA, only cares about transportation security? What am I missing…?

  66. Gals and Pals … it 25 minutes … watch the “law and order” president in action as his moronic minions beat the shit out of the police … until one of them gets shot and killed … the blood is on his hands (and he couldn’t care less).

  67. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, says border agents are concerned by the alarming number of young girls who are being “brutally” raped and assaulted by human smugglers as they trek across the southern border, and is demanding the Biden administration to take immediate action to stop these “heartbreaking” crimes.Ernst said the senators were told that human smugglers and coyotes assisting the cartels are perpetuating these horrific crimes of sexual abuse toward over half of young girls as they make the journey, often unaccompanied, across the southern border to the U.S.The Border Patrol, they told us that about 30% of the women and girls that are being trafficked by the cartels up to the border are being sexually abused along the way. And those are just the ones that are reporting. And so the Border Patrol agents feel that 60% of them having been abused would be a more accurate number. So it really is appalling,” Ernst told Fox News.

“And, you know, when we were there with just a few days earlier that a five and six-year-old girl had been just brutally raped right there at the border. And they said that they were so badly injured they had to call emergency medical personnel for the girls.”

In addition, Ernst said agents told the senators about “rape trees” that are used by the criminal smugglers to abuse the girls.

“And we heard of what they call ‘rape trees,’ where there are areas where the cartel smugglers will take the women and girls and, well, rape them under a tree and then take their undergarments and throw them up into the tree and hang them from the branches,” Ernst said border agents told her during the trip.

The smugglers know what they’re doing which is “taunting the American law enforcement officials by doing this. It’s in your face, look, we can do whatever we want and there will be no repercussions,” stated Ernst. “It’s so disgusting.”

  68. Just A Citizen says:

    Good grief!!

“Zeldin’s prediction came true. After making an alleged attack on a major political candidate, with an accompanying threat, the man, David Jakubonis, 43, was charged with attempted assault in the second degree and then immediately released, within hours of his arrest, without bail.”

FYI, Zeldin is the NY politician who was attacked by a man, Jakubonis, with a knife.

    • S Kent Troy says:

So, there is, like with Kavanaugh, an assassination attempt on a Congressman running for NY Governor as a republican . As is usual the standard media outlets downplay or ignore it. The candidate stops the sharp object wielding assassin himself and the DA releases him (hope they gave the knife back so he can get it right next time) WHY am I absolutely certain that had this been against Schumer or Nadler it would be front page for weeks?

Say, isn’t this a FEDERAL crime? Don’t hold your breath for the DOJ to act.

    • And people wonder why everyone wants to carry. Perhaps vigilante justice is better?

    • Yes, the attack on Zeldin is far more serious and important than an attempt to overturn an election. Stay focused on that one. 🙂

      • Yes, as a matter of fact it is quite more important…it is a symptom and a bad symptom.

If I were a leftist, I would say it was necessary to prevent another “supposed” overthrow of the government.

        • God/the universe bless your ability to stay so narrow minded … 🙂 Trump was the symptom of a quickly declining Empire … but if you suspect a drunken former veteran’s attack on Zeldin holds more weight than however many morons stormed the Capital for what was INDEED an attempt to let shit-for-brains (my nickname for Trump; Biden’s is mush-for-brains) retain power and overthrow an election and government, more power to you.

          • Because, it is not the simple individual that attacked a person, it was a sitting politician. It was attacking what he stood for, not who he was. And you write off the fact that it was a drunken veteran….but it was an attack just the same. On people running for office…THAT is no different than the attack on the Capitol. Just the scope is different, not the symptom.

Also, I am smart enough to know that if anyone succeeded in getting into the capitol, I know that there was also no way it would have enabled trump to retain any sort of power…and people who think this are more narrow minded that you claim that I am. There is no way in hell that taking over a building would have resulted in Trump keeping power. NO WAY IN HELL. I did not support it then and I do not support it now. The fact is……Trump lost the election. Storming the Capitol would not have changed that in one single iota…and I really doubt that you believe it would have.

But let us play your game…. lets assume that someone would have been taken hostage….how is that simple measure going to ensure that Trump retained power. it would not. There was NO WAY IN HELL the government can be taken over without military assistance….none. And that was not going to happen. It is impossible. Everyone knew that pence was going to certify the electoral count. I knew it…and the most stupid gutter rat knew it.

You, my friend, are too one sided and you do not want to even see the other side at all….but that is ok….you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. i am just trying to understand it apart from talking points gleaned from biased news media. I have been clear about it…i do not believe any news media……I do not trust the news media which is why I do not allow them to accompany us on our border excursions.

But this show trial, put on by biased Democrats, with subliminal cuts and editing on film, seem to be afraid of Trump running again? Why are they afraid of him? I do not get it.

            • I didn’t say he would retain power. Of course it was a dumbass move. The point is now that individual states are attempting and in some cases succeeding in getting Maga morons into power, the next time, unless things change (and I don’t see how they do), it is possible for a Sec. of State to ignore an actual win and refuse to certify the results, sending bogus certifications (what the dumbasses around Trump tried to do with his blessing). “Show trial” … wrong again. It’s a hearing, not a trial … with 2 Republicans or do you now call one of the most conservative Congresspersons EVER (Cheney) a RINO? 🙂 The actual trial we may never see … which is just another exposure of how corrupt the entire system is (both parties, 24/7).

              • The point is now that individual states are attempting and in some cases succeeding in getting Maga morons into power, the next time, unless things change

Well, if a slogan of “Make America Great Again”, scares you then I suggest that you are in the wrong place. If giving power to the States, where it belongs, scares you, then I think you are in the wrong place. Thank goodness there are still flights to Pluto. I fear, greatly fear, that a single Federal government is not the answer. I fear that the Federal Government will do away with the electoral college and eliminate the State’s ability to govern. I do not want to be like New York or California….nor should they, simply because of population, control the country…….

                >b> it is possible for a Sec. of State to ignore an actual win and refuse to certify the results I think I need you to clarify this one, please sir. It appears that you are talking about individual state positions of Sec…but not sure.

It’s a hearing, not a trial … with 2 Republicans or do you now call one of the most conservative Congresspersons EVER (Cheney) a RINO? We will disagree here…..it SHOULD have been a hearing with conflicting sides in attendance…..it was a show trial that makes all Kangaroos jealous. And as to the 2 Republicans, if you can mall Manchin a republican, I can call Cheney et al. a RINO. But I will not do that. Because my belief goes much deeper, my friend. If you are of the ilk that believes a person must walk in lock step with whatever party they are part of, then I say that you are a true Socialist and will execute the first born, if that fits your mantra……..follow the party and not your conscience? If Cheney and her cohort actually feel that they are correct, I cannot fault them. If they are bought off, then they are traitors. Who knows? I fall on the side that they sincerely feel the way they do. Great!!!! Manchin and Senema feel the way they do…..Great!!!! Isn’t this what democracy should be about? This “SHOW TRIAL” was nothing more than to keep Trump out for 2024. The left fears him….the world fears him….not because he wants to take over the world but because he is upsetting the Status Quo. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am not from Vulcan….I do not have pointed ears and I do not follow the theory of the Robin Hood approach to governing. Texas tried the Robin Hood approach one time and it did not work. It is not working in California, New York, nor Illinois. I am not a greater good believer. I subscribe to survival of the fittest. But, I should be allowed my viewpoint just as I allow you your viewpoint. And I respect your viewpoint, as you know.

At any rate, I hear the speaker in the background calling for flight 101 going to Pluto. Have a safe trip. But save me a place just in case you are correct.

                • S Kent Troy says:

You be talking to a wall sir!

Cheney and the other dolt are “useful idiots”. Period!

              • Charlie, Charlie, Charlie! It IS a show trial if only in their minds. Why else would they hire a Hollywood producer (director, whatever) to oversee their prime time show? Trump is clean as a whistle, which is why none of their other show trials have stuck either.

Maga morons? I don’t see the problem. That’s the way the pendulum swings. Both sides have been morons, which is how we got here to begin with. Which is also why there is such hate toward MAGA. They know that we know. You concede that both sides are corrupt…which makes you MAGA by default. CHARLIE IS A CLOSET MAGA PERSON!

Yes, Cheney is a RINO. RINOs are no conservatives Just ask the Wyoming RNC, or whoever the state level R brass is…they kicked her to the curb too. She’s toast unless she’s successful in convincing a whole bunch of Ds to switch parties for their primary. We’ll see pretty soon.

                • Anita, my love … I am a devout socialist. Trump is clean? Oh, dear … why has she forsaken me? 🙂 Doesn’t make a difference … we all lost … neither of these parties, and certainly not Bunker boy, will solve any of the problems capitalism run amok has created. As it slowly but surely eats itself to death … well, let’s just say I’m glad I’m 66 and not 36. 🙂

    • Let’s hear it for Mr. Bannon … telling his moronic multitudes the game plan 3 days BEFORE the 2020 election. (paraphrasing, but listen to the recording). “Trump is going to declare victory. He may not win, but that’s what he’s going to say. And if he loses, he’s going to say it was stolen.” Right, it was a gathering that got out of hand. I have learned a new thing today. But let me say this. Thanks to this author we are now more informed. And his article will probably be the death knell, sorry couldn’t resist, of the bells ringing at noon.

Footnote. In small rural towns in the west a siren sounds each day at noon. When young we were told that this was so everyone knew it was noon. And could reset their time pieces accordingly. Maybe that was the myth.

    https://thehill.com/opinion/congress-blog/3571129-whatever-happened-to-objecting-in-good-faith/

Maybe it is because some of that villification is justified. Maybe it is because some do in fact want to destroy the country as we know it. You cannot debate differences in finding solutions to problems when you don’t share the same base values or goals.

“Moving the country forward” is empty rhetoric. Forward to what? Charlie Stella’s world or that of VDLG?

  73. A little something different here that you may be interested in. This is one of the homesteading guys I keep up with. He doesn’t normally get into politics, But I find it interesting how he relays this to people who don’t follow politics much. Long story short, the FBI showed up at this guys house, just a friendly visit, to make sure he actually bought multiple guns…and…just show them to us and we’ll be outta here. I’d love for them to show up at the Colonel’s crib. 🙂

  74. S Kent Troy says:

Lettuce us get ONE big thing straight. The modern democrat party consists of people who in no sense of the word are liberal. They are RADICALS. Jack Kennedy was a liberal, Hubert Humphrey was a liberal, even FDR and LBJ were liberals.

Webster’s defines radical as “an extremist, one who advocates COMPLETE political or social reforms”. “Revolutionary.”

You tell me how, no bail for violent offenders who have been deliberately charged with lesser “non-violent” offenses, releasing violent criminals, failure to prosecute rioters and arsonists, tearing the economy to shreds by demanding a “green” revolution, mandating unproven vaccines for healthy people, throwing away the constitution in regard to Jan 6th rioters while you let Seattle burn, impeaching a president over a falsehood then awarding a “Pulitzer” prize to the people who contributed and spread the lie are “liberal” virtues.
Bill Buckley once said that a conservative is one who stands athwart history and yells STOP. To stop progress? NO! Merely time to assess it. and, maybe , get it right.

  75. Justice demands Mr. Trump (a.k.a. shit-for-brains) be tried for seditious conspiracy and either hung (my preference) or put away for the rest of his miserable life … then again, Mr. Conway (a conservative his entire life) must now be a RINO too. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l-Q0jtnY14

  76. Actual conservatives know he should be prosecuted and convicted.

  77. Everybody is either a RINO or a democrat with political motives … and you guys believe a pathological liar. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_nJGm_LdM8

    • Just A Citizen says:

Well I am neither a RINO or a Democrat.

So I guess I must be nobody!

Now I wonder exactly which pathological liar I am supposed to be believing?

      • Try believing the 60+ courts that dismissed the voter fraud bullshit … or the the judges Trump appointed … or his White House Staff, his AGs, or the response of McConnell and McCarthy and Meadows immediately after the fiasco of the Knucklehead Revolution … the last few did a 180 once Trump huffed at them, but not the others … or you’re right, you’re a nobody who just can’t live with FACTS. 🙂

    • Well, I do not know a Democrat without a political motive. Can anybody name one? Just one?

      • For that matter, can anyone name someone who does not have a political motive?

      • How about all the Republicans appointed by Trump? They called it too. No fraud, he lost. And his inaction during the knucklehead revolution … well, even the WSJ and The NY Post condemned him for that … but if you wanna live with blinders on, as most MAGA supporters do, knock yourself out. 🙂

  78. Charlie….please sir, I have a serious question for you. You claim to be a die hard socialist and I respect that but how far does your socialism belief go? Let me explain the reason that I ask. I have had a very long discussion with my son on this very subject. We spent several hours discussing several things as it pertains to “given” rights, privileges, wealth, and fundamental rights and expectations. There is no question in our mind what the Constitution says and how it defines rights. My son is actually on the fence of what is right and what is wrong and he claims that I am not “understanding.” Of course, I claim the opposite. The next reason for my question does not involve politics but ideology (I know, you will claim that ideology is politics but I claim otherwise.) Therefore, if you do not mind, I would like to ask you some very definite questions to try to see the “your side.” I wish to avoid argument and a back and forth diatribe and stick to the subject of ideology. I want to see if it compares to what he is saying and what he thinks he believes. This may take a little while but I want you to understand, that this is not a Republican set up or a Democratic Kangaroo Court….I truly want to understand where you are coming from and I would like to do this sans quotes from media, either conservative or liberal, rags, or television sound bites.

Do you think we can do this without innuendo? If so, I will start with specific questions but do not want to waste your time nor mine.

    • Sure, fire away. In essence, although I’m an atheist and don’t believe Jesus is the son of a god, I do believe there was a man named Jesus and that he was crucified/killed by what today would be the powers that be. See the beatitudes. That’s what I think socialism should encompass, fully understanding that ANY form of government/economy has to be constantly investigated and evaluated by a legitimate press (not the corporate media we have today). The obscenity of the wealthy in this country, whether via corporate or inheritance, is the EXACT opposite of the beatitudes. Capitalism has already crashed this country. It’s only a matter of time before this empire fails like all the others did.

      • S Kent Troy says:

Remove the fact that we keep importing POVERTY at an ever increasing rate for various nefarious reasons and tell me what this country, as constituted, could be. My opinion based on facts and trends is something like “leave it to Beaver” for everybody of all hues. We were close.

        • Importing poverty. You’re seriously a funny guy. Have you bothered to notice the shrinking size of the working middle class? We were NEVER closer than having it for one race and one race only.

  81. I just realized the sub-banner/title for this site: “That precious land of freedom, liberty and justice for all.” On what planet does any of the 3 deal in reality? Freedom … no more than about 180 other countries … liberty … same … justice for all … now that is a laugh. 🙂

  82. This will not make a difference because the SUFA, Q, MAGA crowd ignores the truth and refuses to face reality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EK9zz8DfbI

    • Don’t blame SUFA or MAGA for blurring the lines. Lay that at the feet of the media. In this very video, they’re trying to pit the Rs against themselves. As far as Desantis running, I doubt it, and he shouldn’t. Its all about the states. He’s good at keeping his state strong against the fed. There’s plenty of time for him to consider the presidency after Trump. Like it or not, its Trump’s party now, and MAGA will be around long after Trump.

Q = Deep State psy op.

      • I agree Maga will be around … speeding the plow to the end of empire. Socialists couldn’t be happier. And look at the dumbass Dems funding the Maga candidates because they think they can beat them in the “Not so smart’ states … how quickly they forget 2016.

      • Anita, my love. Do you want to “hand Mike Pence” too? I wouldn’t mind it, but I don’t the guy to die … especially not for that orange diseased imbecile. Why would any of you watch the hearings to see just what Bunker Boy was up to after LOSING to Joe the Zombie Biden? See what all those liars in the WH and DOJ and Military and his family and campaign people had to say about whether or not the election was rigged. Don’t hang Mike, but feel free to send Bunker Boy through a meat grinder an inch at a time. 🙂

          • Hanging is extreme. Sometimes the court of public opinion has to do the trick. Pretty sure he understands this too judging by the size of crowds he’s able to draw. He’s exploring a run at the presidency…pffft! Knows darn well he doesn’t have enough support, but he’ll hang himself while trying his best to be a spoiler. 30Pence.

  83. Ok….Charlie…..May I have your view on Private Property, please. The definition of private property is as follows: Property is anything that can be owned; it can be tangible (land, house, car, computer, shoes, carrots) or intangible (a bank-account balance, an investment such as a share of stock in a company, the patent on an invention). Private property is property that is owned by an individual or group of individuals (such as a company or corporation), rather than by the government or society at large.

It is my opinion that there is no in-between. What say you?

    • I say ignore the definition assigned by property owners and think communal. No part of the earth can or should be “owned”. We “own” a house … big deal. We shouldn’t be allowed to “own” the earth it stands on. We disagree on this because of our ideology. It’s like the constitution … written by men of wealth and privilege to retain and maintain their power. It’s obscene.

  84. I don’t believe in private property. The earth has been around for a long time and nobody has a right to claim any of it. We’re on opposite ends of the pole here. But, respectfully so.

  85. Look at this imbecile. Aside from Slavery, this is America’s greatest stain. Donald J. Trump. A complete buffoon and moron. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmrEfQG6pIg

    • Just A Citizen says:

HIs point was correct. But as with most things he tried to defend, he doesn’t have the base understanding and political style vocabulary to carry it off. But far from imbecilic.

The reason all the testing was a farce was because it was NOT used in concert with quarantine or other measures to reduce spread. Testing was being pushed as a “solution” by the Dems/Anti Trump folks leading up to the election. The tests were not even dependable until about the time of the election.

The more you test the more cases you find. All for the purpose of making it look worse. So on one hand, increased testing leads to more lock downs, more govt overreach for little effect. On the other hand, testing which leads to more cases REDUCED the death rate. That is we got data more in line with the reality of the pandemic.

    • Actually Trump was more correct than Fauci, Birx, and I forget the third member of the triumvirate. Masks were useless except the KN95s which we did not have enough of. Even those are marginal. Had we followed the hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin protocols, our death rate would have been much lower (see Brazil, India and equtorial Africa). Both of these (no masks and hydroxy) Trump pushed early in the pandemic and was shouted down by those like you with rampant TDS. He talked about using fiber optics and UV light as a way to sterilize the lungs which was undergoing research at the time. They seem to have killed the approach. The bleach thing was about cleaning surfaces and may also have been a reference to the now commercially available Novage nasal flush therapy. He did a great job of fast tracking ventilator manufacturing and development of the vaccine. Too bad the “experts” did not realize that the ventilators were the kiss of death and the vaccine was a dud. Birx in her book actually admits lying to Trump. Fauci was more of a quiet instigator in the background. Both Dr. Scott Atlas and Peter Novarro give the details of the committee running the pandemic planning and all the mishandling of the data that ensued. Birx and Fauci should have been fired right at the beginning but Trump got bad advice from those around him. His instincts were correct.

Charlie, do you really get your news from CNN, Adam Schiff, and Howard Stern? Even the NYT has had to admit they got the Russia hoax story wrong. IT TOOK THEM SIX YEARS TO ADMIT TO WHAT MANY OF US KNEW IN UNDER SIX MONTHS.

Are you really going to hang Trump for not reacting to the security problems at the Capitol? That is the exclusive job of the leaders of the Senate and House. Trump had authorized the use of the NG four days earlier but Nancy turned it down because the of the optics. Then optics be damned, she ringed the Capitol in fencing and troops for six months afterwards when the danger was nonexistent. Why was half of the Capitol police force off duty in J6? Now they are bashing Trump because he did not come out early enough to quell the riot and to call for enforcing the law. This from the same crowd who did not call for BLM and Antifa to stop or to call for their arrest and conviction. A whole summer of riots, murders, attacks on police, arson, property damage and looting. Furthermore the D’s actually encouraged the riots in 2020 and funded their bail money.

Trump was wrong in pushing for Pence to send the election back to the states. Pence did not have that authority. But the “BIG LIE” is also a big lie which you seem to have swallowed hook line and sinker. There were multiple problems with this election that we need to get to the bottom of and to correct prior to the next one.

It was only a few years ago when I reminded SUFA readers of Soylent Green.

Do you realize that newspapers have always been run “for profit”.

        No profit, no paper.

        • Do you realize that that’s not the case when it comes to television? Duh … but here’s one you should enjoy today: “Remember, he hires “the best” people … even those who were convicted and he pardoned (because that’s what “Law and Order” Presidents do, they pardon convicted criminals, especially when they were in his cabinet or running his campaign) … so, one of his “best people” sent a condemning email … “In emails obtained by The New York Times, a lawyer for Donald Trump’s campaign acknowledged that a scheme to overturn the former president’s election defeat involved “fake” electors. “We would just be sending in ‘fake’ electoral votes to Pence so that ‘someone’ in Congress can make an objection when they start counting votes, and start arguing that the ‘fake’ votes should be counted,” Jack Wilenchik, who helped organize pro-Trump electors in Arizona, wrote in a December 8, 2020, email to Boris Epshteyn, a Trump campaign adviser. In a follow up email, Wilenchik clarifies, saying that “alternative” votes is a better term. Other emails obtained by the newspaper show that lawyers were aware that the scheme to have “alternate” electors claim Trump won in some key states might not be legal.”

And what was Bunker Boy’s role in all this? Well, considering the FACT he was pressuring Republican Senators and Congressmen to object to the “actual” electors and his pressure on his Vice President to overturn the “actual” electors with the “fake” ones … one would have to assume, Bunker Boy is GUILTY of that ONE crime among many, many others.”

  87. Ok, my friend….two questions. I think I know the answers but from your stand point, let’s ask about weapons. Let me be specific. Automatic weapons with a magazine capacity greater than 10. Automatic shotguns with a magazine capacity of 5.

Knives with blade length greater than 6 inches, heavy steel combat knives, and machetes.

Next question. Media. Should all media be STATE run?

Last question on this round. Police. Should all police be State Run and state employed.

    • Oops…for you, Charlie

    • S. Kent Troy says:

Colonel, semi-auto or rock and roll?

    • When assault rifles were banned under Clinton, there was a precipitous decline in mass shootings. Can we ever stop a lunatic from killing? No. Can we make it a bit more difficult to kill 21 kids? You bet your ass we can. Now that AR-15’s are the mass killing of choice, I think it’s pretty obvious they shouldn’t be sold to the public. BTW, I am NOT again gun ownership. If assault weapons are okay, then why not grenades, etc.?

      I’m fine with the knives.

No on the media. The media should be independent, neither censored by the state or private corporations (which is EXACTLY what we have now, a media that is totally corporate controlled).

Defund the police. Kill the culture taught by all those I know of like the NYPD. Police should NOT look as they they’re marching into 1940 Poland. I have no problem with localities, city or state or federal hiring police. Maybe screen the whackjobs out a little better.

      • interesting when he gets to how easy it is to turn a semi-auto into auto.

A Stalinist or Hitlerian prosecutor. When the AG was Eric Holder who planned and executed “fast and Furious” a gun running operation into Mexico from the US which resulted in teh death of at least one US LEO and God knows how many Mexicans, the Congress held him in contempt for failing to testify as to the who, what, where, when and why’s of the operation. SITLL WAITING for THAT prosecution.

Nuff said. He is a Hitlerian/Stalinist prosecutor and would have been quite comfortable at the Inquisition. If you believe otherwise, you are a fool and as my late buddy Mick Psarakis would have said, a TOOL. .

  91. Charlie….Industry…state controlled or private.

    Wages….fixed wages?

    • Private until it is abused, then nationalized. (i.e., Big Oil, Big Pharma, etc.)

Wages, open until they are abused. (i.e., CEO pay raises 600xs workers).

      • Who determines levels of abuse?

        • We the people, after being informed by independent media and not the corporate media that runs interference for corporations. Maybe if the people of America knew just how fucked they’re being by corporations (but that would require they know how to read and actually did some), I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t elect the spineless bribe taking pieces of shit they continue to elect … but that’s where you have nothing to worry about, sir. The corporations wouldn’t let it happen. They’re content allowing capitalism to flush what is left of a democratic republic down the toilet. It’s the end of empire, folks. Ignore or deny it all you want, it’s been ongoing for decades. It’s completed now.

        • Question for you, sir: How do you feel about socialism for the wealthy? Corporate BAILOUTS that include cruise lines flying foreign (registration) flags to avoid U.S. taxes? And isn’t it wonderful that Tom Brady got a new yacht out of the same deal?

          • S. Kent Troy says:

Cruise lines, how about the whole US Merchant Marine or lack thereof? The unions shot themselves in the foot, repeatedly. The Coast Guard “rules” for US flagged ships are onerous. Remember I have a son who was a grad of teh USMMA Academy and bemoans the lack of US flagged shipping. One of the craziest, unknown things is how many SHIPS the Army owns because we cannot guarantee private, secure shipping.

Anybody around when the containerships took over and kissed off the longshoremen knows why. Theft and wages.

I see you NEVER read the Roosevelt book I recommended did you? Corporations, a creation of the STATE as Roosevelt (TR) pointed out can be regulated by the state since they would not exist otherwise. He did it, became universally despised for doing so like another President I know. Read up on the 1902-03 Coal strike to see how an executive, not an insider handled it.

            • You guys suggested I read Ayn Rand … I read both her torturous, repetitive selfish bullshit. So, it was the unions again, huh? 🙂 You kill me.

              • S. Kent Troy says:

Grandpa was in a union, UMW, Dad was in a union, Local 6 Hotel workers, I was in a union, DC 37. Want me to tell you OUR experiences?

Look up the Tony Boyle ordered murder of Jock Yablonsky of the UMW why don’t you. THEN get back to me about unions. You sometimes don’t know shit and seem proud of it.

Theodore Roosevelt is NOT Ayn Rand, not buy a longshot. Personally I’ve always thought Ayn Rand is a POS. Watched Bill Buckley disassemble her.

          • Easy question, sir. I am against ALL bailouts….period. There should be no bailout of cities, pension plans, COVID, Corporations (such as this “chip” legislation)…

I do not mind specific tax abatement to lure corporations from other areas (like from California to Texas) but those tax abatement’s need to be specific and they need to sunset.

This may also surprise you because I am in business and use the available IRS code, but I believe that our tax structure is archaic. I believe that all corporations should pay a tax. I do not believe that they should pay more simply because they are a corporation just as I believe that each individual should pay a tax and not be exempt because they do not make enough. I do not think that anyone should get anything for free. Nothing.

            • So, Bezos getting away with a $20 BILLION dollar year and no federal taxes upsets you? Good on you. I do have a problem with people who don’t (not of their own accord) are paid slave wages and can’t afford to pay taxes (especially during a period of high inflation). I’m surprised you’re so rigid on the tax issue. You seem like a reasonable person.

              • Hi Charlie…Slave wages are a definition that encompasses a lot of things. For example, an hourly wage of $15 per hour is a good wage here for flipping burgers, yard work and such. If you want to give an illegal a job, they will work for $10 per hour and be glad to get it. But these same wages in New York or California or Illinois will not work. The employer gets to call the wage structure, if you wish to work there, cool beans. If you do not like the wages, do not work there. Pretty simple.

but, yes, I am very strict on the tax issue because I do not like the “something for nothing” crowd. Everyone should have skin in the game. I pay a lot of taxes and I give to the charity of my choice. I do not think that government should support anyone because, I think, history has proven that it creates generational poverty and no incentive.

                • I think the last time the minimum wage was raised was in 2009 to 7.25 an hour. Has the cost of living remained the same? Nope. Anything is slave wages when a person works and still has to depend on food stamps and government subsidies. I’ll assume you’re against removing student debt, free public education and medicare for all … and I can’t wait to hear you justify that. Who cares if public college is free? Why wouldn’t you want to join the rest of the world and provide medicate for all? Why wouldn’t you want the elderly or any person in need of medications regulate how much they can take because the prices (until now a no bid contract with the gov’t.) are unaffordable to them?

                  • The real minimum wage is zero. If you want more self checkout lines, more robot ordering systems in restaurants, …. just raise the minimum wage. You should spend some time listening to Milton Freeman.

                    • Milton has been a proven failure for decades now, but when you gotta cling to someone, it might as well be him. In case you haven’t noticed, neoliberalism is a big bust for those who suffer its consequences.

                  • Point one….we are not the rest of the world. I do not give a furry rat’s ass about the rest of the world. I do not want to be global. I do not want world banks governing me. I am not a supporter of the United Nations and luke warm on NATO. I do not believe in the WHO. You hate elites yet you support elites…you just change the name.

I do not have to defend my disdain at universal health care and the reason is that you want the rich to pay for it. You could get me closer to universal health care if EVERYONE had skin in the game but to penalize wealth is wrong. To penalize corporations is wrong PROVIDED they pay taxes. If I were in charge, I would be on a flat tax system with no deductions except for charitable contributions. No deductions for personal and no deductions for corporate. My personal opinion of individual income tax rate would be 15% for all persons regardless of income. If you make 10,000 per year, you pay 1,500 in taxes. If you make 100,000 per year you would pay 15000 in taxes. If you make 1,000,000 per year, you would pay 150,000 in taxes. Corporations would have a 25% flat tax rate…no deductions.

I would eliminate government subsidies and government welfare. I do not believe in give away programs except on a limited basis. I am 74 years old and a diabetic. Obama took my “guaranteed”: tri-care health insurance away and forced me onto Medicare to pay for his Obamacare bullshit. I am on the medicare and it sucks….about 50% of the doctors will not take it. I go to the VA out-clinic and do manage to avoid part D medicare because the cost is so high. When I first went onto medicare, my portion to pay was $140 per month. Now my portion to pay is $640 per month because I still invest and I still have income other than social security and the rules say that my medicare is based on income. In addition, because I file jointly with my spousal unit, they also raised her medicare to match mine simply because we file jointly. So, I am forced to get supplemental insurance because Obama killed that as well…my costs for health insurance is approximately 1,400 per month and we are both in our 70’s. therefore, if anyone has the right to complain…I do.

(Explanation on what Obama did. Tri-care is health insurance that was guaranteed to military personnel for 20 years military service both active and reserve. I spent 10 years active duty and 31 years reserve duty. I fought in Vietnam in active duty and I fought in Kuwait, Bosnia, and Afghanistan as a reservist. In order to pay for his Obamacare, he took all reservists and dropped our Tri Care and forced us on Medicare.) Despite all that, I do not want universal health care and I do not want to get on board with Europe or any of the other “so called” industrial countries. If their health care is so good, why do they come to the US for major surgeries. I know Canadians and most do not like their health care. I know only one Englander (my older sister lives with him) and he does not like the English health care and uses the American system. But health care is long term discussion.

If you dropped all corporate deductions EXCEPT charitable deductions, I would guarantee you that billions would flow into charity, if that was the only deduction allowed.

yes, I am against removing student debt…another thing that Obama did by eliminating private debt and the government taking it over. BAD mistake.

free this and that sounds great but how do you fund it? I see you raising the tax rate to 90% or higher and only the rich funding it. I am a free enterprise believer…..a capitalist with some exceptions on taxes. I work hard for my income and I feel it is unfair to tax me greater because I choose to work. How DO YOU justify the robin hood approach?

                    • You don’t care about the rest of the world even when we pay the highest medical costs for not even close to the same care. Okay, if that’s what you want, let the rest of us have universal coverage and you can pay private doctors, etc.

You would eliminate welfare … and what happens when you have 40 or 50 million people without any way to support themselves? Tough shit on them? I don’t think you’re considering the consequences but that seems to be your MO. Bold statements without a thought about what happens next.

Obama sold out to insurance companies with the ACA. It’s still better “for some” than no coverage at all. We need universal healthcare. The rest of the civilized world has it for a reason. Like I said, if it ever happened here (it won’t, America will destroy itself first), ignore it.

You can’t guarantee anything regarding charity. White will support white causes and they have the bulk of the coin. It’s a pathetic excuse to allow people to suffer.

So, keep the student debt and we can forget the next generations coming anywhere near the fugazi (fake) American Dream. Right now corporations are buying up entire communities, including trailer parks, and raising rents and kicking people out of their homes. Where do you think that ends? It is simply unbelievable to me that you can’t see the forest for the trees. No thoughts about consequences. More homeless, more people slipping into poverty, but you’re fine with that. It is truly mind boggling.

You work hard. So do a lot of people work hard. Some for pennies on the hour. $7.25 in today’s economy is a bad and sad fact. If the money to fund comes from corporations earning BILLIONS (during a Pandemic no less), you won’t have to be so nervous about someone picking YOUR pocket. Again, you confuse the hell out of me, sir. 🙂

  92. Trump supporters … the most entertaining MF’ers on the planet. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOTys1FvQkk

  93. g-man would be proud of me today. Processed over 100 ears of corn. Now have over 20 qt bags of kernel corn and 26 ears in the freezer. Still have more corn in the plot. Despite my planning, it all got ripe at the same time.

    • I wish I could do that (seriously). I think it’s VERY smart.

      • By your socialist logic, I should give 30% of it to the homeless, but where were the homeless when I bought the seed, fertilized and tilled the soil, planted the seed, mulched the plot, built the irrigation system, paid for the water, picked and husked the corn, blanched it, cut it off the cop, bagged and froze it? I am just some greed capitalist that wants to keep it all for myself and my family.

        • Actually, T Ray, you should give 90% away and then be taxed on the remaining 10%.

        • Where were the homeless? Good question. Of course you leave it hanging there because, well … how else do you present half an argument. Why not return to the 50’s and 60’s and remove the loopholes so that the top 20% or thereabouts pay (90%) and lower it according to annual income … those were the boom years for the middle class, you know. You still get to do all that work and maybe only get taxed 20%. And the homeless, those with and without jobs, don’t have to cut their medications to afford them … or go without medications, etc. It’s the Christian thing to do, no? If you need to be greedy about it, hide what you work so hard for.

          • The 50’s and 60’s were an anomaly. We had the only industrial base that was not destroyed by the war plus limited immigration that made labor a commodity in short supply thus valuable. Kennedy showed that over taxation actually harmed the economy. Tax revenues increased after Kennedy’s tax cut as a result of a growing economy. Reagan did the same thing and our economy boomed through the 90’s. Trump’s tax cuts did the same thing. Revenues increased because the economy was growing.

The last place anyone should want their money to go to is government. They are very efficient at spending the money and getting nothing in return. Starve the beast.

            • “The 50’s and 60’s were an anomaly. ” 🙂 And it’s been a shit-show ever since. Wealth to the top 20% (especially the top 2%) and a shrinking middle class and expanding poverty class. Great system. Working like a charm. 🙂

          • S. Kent Troy says:

The bulk of the “:homeless” used to be safely ensconced in treatment centers and psychiatric wards until left leaning politicians like Cuomo the elder and Hugh Carey realized how much they could “save” by releasing them with a bag of pills. Of course you would never answer the following question, “just WTF are we going to do with the 2,500,000 (known) illegals who have just walked into the country?” Of course by 2024 that will be well over 10,000,000 just on a straight statistical progression.

Just to be fair, Governor Reagan bought the Psychiatric community’s bullshit about de-institutilization too. so called f—–g “EXPERTS” like the idiots who prescribe drugs for depression which cause suicide and murderous ideations ought to stand trial for their crimes against humanity. Hard to believe Tom Cruise was spot on.

    • Way to go T Ray…unfortunately, with the heat of the last three weeks and the lack of rain, even a fancy irrigation setup that I also have, Peppers are smaller and not producing, tomatoes (other than in my green house) have stopped producing. The egg plant has only produced two fruits and is quitting. The heat is very oppressive right now (but I still drive my SUV). The garden has been tilled up and I have put in Texas wild flowers for now…We cant grow corn where I am or I would. I have started the fall garden seedlings in the green house and they are beginning to sprout. Just have to get rid of this heat. at midnight last night it was 99 degrees….just saps the moisture out of the ground. The squash and zuchinni have also quit. Only my green house, which is temperature controlled, is working right now.

As to giving away your work? Nope, it is yours. take care of your family first.

      • The garden plot (not the corn patch) is only a 4′ x 8′ raised bed but is doing well. The kids (except one) were home this last weekend. The only thing on the table from the store was the pork. We had fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomato, peppers, onions, beans, and of course corn on the cob, not to mention fresh tree ripened peaches from the orchard down the road. It was great. Have 5 qts of dill pickles on the shelf and will be adding at least another 5 this week. I tried to go vertical with the beans and cukes and it worked out well. I am finishing up a second 4′ x 12′ raised bed. I just need to add the drip system and the trellises. None of this is cheap but I was able to salvage wood from our old pool deck (>30yrs old). The wood is redwood so looks terrible but is still in good shape. On this one, I am using a PVC pipe frame with plastic netting to keep the deer out rather than a wood frame and recycled fencing. Plan on a fall crop of cabbage, broccoli, garlic and what ever else I can manage.

I have tomatoes and peppers on the deck in pots that are doing well as long as I remember to water them. Also have some herbs.

It has been warm here but not record level heat. Water is not cheap but what the heck. At least I can stop watering the corn now.

        • Yeah, our cukes did well early on…we put up 8 quarts of relish and 6 quarts of dills. We do not put up tomatoes but we do make a lot of sauces and put that up. I simply cannot grow corn….it will not grow in this sun. My beans are bush beans as the vine kind do not grow well and the bush ones are in pots in the green house. My green house is 30×40 with a misting system so, I am able to grow some things year round. It stays at a constant temp of 80-85 degrees so most things grow well. My air conditioning is run off of the old air cooler type and since I am on well water, the cost is not great. My cost comes in winter because of the propane that it takes to run the heaters. However, growing veggies even in a green house in the winter is not as easy as it sounds. The sun is simply not out long enough and I do not have grow lights. But, I can start seedlings and I do that.

Lettuce cannot be grown in my zone…way too hot. Same for cabbage and greens….simply too hot and when the nurseries send out seedlings that say full sun…..they are not talking about Texas or Arizona type sun. I can put out potatoes and onions early on in February and march and they do great. I have enough onions and potatoes to last until the next crop in May of 2023.

My outdoor garden is about the same as yours….I have divided it into 4 sections of 4×12 and raised beds. Do not have a deer issue but do have rabbits, skunks, and armadillos but the raised beds take care of the problem. Do not know why, but they will not climb it. However, one entire section of 4×12 is for planting of flowers to lure the pollinators since I live west of Fort Worth and it is primarily prairie land with very few pollinators. I also have raised flower beds to draw pollinators. We have to bring our own trees in as well.

But, it is fun. The only thing that hurts some is the amount of time that I spend on the border. The spousal unit needs to take up the slack and she does a great job.

  94. How about Sri Lanka……anyone see the pictures of the overthrow of the government? the people stormed the capitol and threw them all out because of a green energy policy that tripled food costs.

    • Interesting how you guys watch the corporate rendition of the Sir Lankan overthrow but won’t watch your own. That is beyond funny. 🙂

      • I find your response funny. A socialist government dictates how farmers should farm and when this fails, the result is food shortages and poverty resulting in the people rising up against the socialist dictators. Once again, central planning fails and leads to the predictable result.

As far as J6 goes, what if we and Trump are right and the election was fraudulent? What does that mean for the future of the country?

The other “funny” observation I have is that you have swallowed the corporate media version of J6 and the election hook, line, and sinker.

        • “as far as J6 goes, what if we and Trump are right and the election was fraudulent? What does that mean for the future of the country?” Do you have idea who comical that statement is? What if my grandmother had balls? I wouldn’t be here. Sweet Jesus on a vespa, how can you be so obtuse about the 2020 election and this imbecile you’ve sworn allegiance to?

          • Sorry Charlie but are you so indoctrinated that you can’t answer a simple hypothetical question?

            • Sorry T-ray, your brain cells died a long time ago. Here’s your Republican Party in all their Patriotism. Ah, the Patriotic Republican Party … so shameless they forget how patriotic they’re supposed to be … they wave and hug flags and “support the troops” … but the same scumbags who feign being true Patriots now, once again, deny ACTUAL WAR VETERANS the medical treatment they so badly need. You’re a faithful Republican? How do you live with yourself? This was a bill the same Republican Senate participated in an 84-14 vote back in June. They’re feelings were hurt when McConnell got played. Great excuse to let the men and women who went to war suffer a horrendous death.

Seriously, how the fuck do your support this coward motherfuckers.

      • Charlie…did I say I approved? I simply mentioned the Sri Lankan overthrow and the main reason for it. The government, under this stupid green environment bullshit, stopped fertilizers that were pertinent to increased food. It pissed people off. it caused loss of income and made food shortages prevalent. This is how Socialism governs…it keeps the masses in check and makes them dependent upon government. Not good.

        • “This is how Socialism governs…it keeps the masses in check and makes them dependent upon government. Not good.” And the masses here aren’t in check? Sir, the corporations won. You have nothing to fear. You and I and all of our children and grandchildren will be governed by corporate fiat going forward. America flushed itself down the toilet a few decades ago and now we’re experiencing the results of it. The end of empire is here. The tik-tok has a corrupt to the core government and wealthy class speeding the plow.

        • S. Kent Troy says:

By the way, the new bill that Manchin signed onto includes a reduction in the use of nitrogen fertilizers. That is what happens when you take farmers out of the congress. Think $ 4.95 for a loaf of bread is high, hah! hah!

          • The EPA has been bitching about the amount of fertilizer in the Mississippi water way for well over a decade. It comes from two sources, runoff from lawns in cities and farm fields. Now at the same time the EPA has been pushing corn ethanol thus encouraging increased corn production. To get the yields necessary to meet this demand requires heavy use of fertilizers. Hence the EPA created the very problem they are bitching about. Unintended consequences.

            • What are you worried about? The Supreme Assholes on the Supreme Court (your people) did away with EPA regulations. It’s like that wonderful meme about Ayn Rand, Paul Rand and Paul Ryan go into a bar and drink tainted booze and die. 🙂

  95. A recent study had reported that low serotonin is not the cause of depression. For 30 years we have been taking SSRI’s to increase serotonin levels in the brain. Now it turns out that the whole basis for these drugs is wrong. SSRIs have been implicated in many mass shooting events. Often their involvement is suppressed because authorities do not want to stigmatize the drug industry who have made billions off the wide spread use of SSRIs. Instead we concentrate on the tool, the gun, instead of the mind of the person pulling the trigger. Mass shootings happen for multiple reasons. Attack the root cause not the tool.

    • Remember the cholesterol craze? About eggs and milk? Years later, they discovered how cholesterol was not a boogy man.

      • I never believed the cholesterol BS. Still eat eggs and drink milk. Ever watch Woody Allen’s “Sleeper”? I remember the ads about eating certain foods and lowering your cholesterol by 16%. Funny thing is the body makes 5/6 of the cholesterol by itself leaving only 1/6 or 16% to be taken in as food.

On the SSRI thing. There was a book about 10 years ago titled “The Emperor’s New Drugs”. It was a meta study of the SSRI test results submitted for FDA approval. The conclusions were that they were only marginally better than a sugar pill and that most likely the “positive” results were due to side effects making the taker feel that he was getting the real drug hence feeling better.

Now to full disclosure, these drugs fried my wife’s brain resulting in her being an invalid for the last 18 years.

Just saw a video by an MD reviewing a study done at Oxford in June 2020. The findings were that a certain low dose steroid reduced the death rate of Covid patients by 30%. It took 6 months for Oxford to propose the follow on study that looked at dosing levels including a high dose regime. The study was never done. A physician in South Africa read the first study and proceeded to dose his patients with a higher dose. He has not lost a patient. Once again like hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. a cheap off label drug has been shown to be effective against Covid but it is not widely used because we “need” the expensive vaccines, Remdesivir, and other expensive patented medications that are basically ineffective. And still no PSA spots to advise people to take Vit C &D3 plus zinc. Charlie is right about the too much corporate influence over government. Millions have died because of Fauci, Birx, the CDC, FDA, and NIH. What a cluster…..

        • Yes, corporations do have control…..so….which is worse, I wonder.

          • Nothing to wonder about, sir. You and I are doing fine. Most of America isn’t and that number grows daily. At some point, aside from the havoc of an rising poverty line, there isn’t money to purchase the goods … amazon has put FAR more small businesses out than UNIONS … and it continues to expand (and without paying federal taxes). The game is so rigged for one side against the “all” there’s no bringing it back. So, when a complete thief and buffoon like Donald Trump tells “the not so smart” people he’s going to “drain the swamp” (a guy who has been caught in more scams the any 3 card monty operation in 1960’s Times Square), desperate people flocked to him and bought into the bullshit and the Dems do the world a favor by bouncing Sanders and handing the LOSS to Hillary and that’s where we are today. The entire country hating one another while totally ignoring the wealth gap (ever increasing one), the blatant system racism, now the overturning of women’s rights … it’ll only get worse … and when it topples, you and I may not be around, but it’ll topple nevertheless.

            • There are two good things about Trump that I liked. The main one is, all the hysteria he has produced. This is my personal opinion but the one thing he did was expose the swamp to the sunlight and people on both sides are scurrying like roaches. He did force the hard left to move before they were ready. And, for some insane reason, they are still afraid of him when Soros and Buffet have done more to hurt our world than anybody…Why are they not afraid of them? The one thing you mentioned…..big bucks. BIIIG BUUCKs!!! But everybody is still afraid of Trump and I do not understand it. I do not think he has a cut dog’s chance of getting back in power but he does have the same privilege that Buffet and Soros have…..the power behind the throne.

              • He exposed the swamp? He is the swamp! 🙂

This one of SUFA’s heroes? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptP2FbsYDDc

                • I did not say he was not part of the problem…I simply said he exposed it and forced them to move faster than they wanted. But, I will ask the question again……why is everyone afraid of him. Just ignore him.

                  • Ignore him? Tell it to the 74,000,000 morons who voted for him. 🙂

                    • S. Kent Troy says:

I’m one so now you insult me. Chuck, you do not get it and never, ever will. You spew about how “corrupt” both parties are, how entrenched they are, how they both kowtow to business yet when a candidate comes along that ALL THREE hate to their core, to the point where they trample the laws and constitution to get him, YOU join the party. They tried and succeeded magnificently with Goldwater. And of course, Reagan was a dunce with Alzheimer’s when he took office.

Like it or leave it, the old saw, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” is an excellent reason to support him.

  96. Gman would be happy for you TRay. Good job with the harvest.

For Charlie’s information…I don’t think you’re hip to the sad news that GMan passed away last December. The last post he made was that he had Covid but that he was managing to get by. We didn’t hear from him for a few weeks, then JAC found a message in the SUFA bin from a family insider letting us know the news. I, for one, miss him big time around here. I doubt that I’m alone.

  97. One way to keep Biden in power…..and influence the mid terms….start a war with China. It is over due anyway.

    • I agree. and I don’t doubt it … our government is a complete sewer of corruption and we’re no longer anywhere close to the greatest country in the world. You need to rename this blog: American Exceptionalism … living the phantasy. 🙂

      • Well, there is no country greater that I am aware of…..but we are not the hegemonic power we used to be.

        • We’re trying to be the hegemonic power we used to be … forget the FACT we haven’t won a war (without help) in 70 years … now we have 2 other superpowers that can do to us what we can do to them. That worked out great, didn’t it? 🙂

          • Yep…that is what get for agreeing to MAD….and not listening to Patton…not to mention Richard Nixon and his China policy. We have met the enemy and the enemy is us……however, we are still the best. If there were a better place, you would be there. Anyone as passionate as you would move.

            • I can’t. I no longer have a passport. If I did, you’re damn right. I’d be gone.

              • What happened to your passport? You can get out of this country easily. Come to the border and walk across. No passport needed for Mexico.

                • My birth certificate read Carmelo Stella. I lost it after a few trips abroad. When I tried to get a new one (post 9-11), I had to reapply by changing my name in court. I did that. They still won’t give it to me. so it goes … Besides, I prefer social democracies like those in Europe.

                  • Do you need a passport to get into Europe? That would mean that your “social democracies” believe in borders…..

                    • And you translate borders to mean nobody gets to go in or out? How’s that working for you and your wall so far? Israel has one too, you know. It surrounds an open air concentration camp.

                    • But every single one of your socialist democracies have borders. But the whole intent was to tell you that you do not need a passport to leave the USA…simply cross the border in Mexico and go to Puerto Vallarta, and board a plane to your favorite destiny including Cuba. You were lamenting that you cannot leave, and I just told you how. NOW, I guess the question is can you get INTO one of your favored social democracies without a passport. Well, the answer to that is…yes you can. Simply claim you are a political refugee and ask for asylum. Apparently very easy to do.

                  • But I luv ya man……you are fun and enlightening to talk to….even if you are still contaminated with Plutonian Dust Mites.

                    • You write good comedy, sir. And I love you too. And this year it’ll be Pluto in the Super Bowl. Like Joe Willie said, “I guarantee it!” 🙂

        • More “American Exceptionalism” … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tbqlciaUGE

  98. S. Kent Troy … if you voted for that con artist, POS, we’ll … if the shoe fits, wear it. As a socialist, I’d find several presidents in a row war criminals, and I’ll give Trump a little bit there (he only upped drone strikes over Obama, who upped them over GWB) … but he didn’t start a new war we can’t win. The bottom line is he IS the swamp. If you’re blind to that too … oy vey!

    • S. Kent Troy says:

      Based on your fantasies.

Ya haven’t read Roosevelts book and you ain’t told me about Ray Epps yet.

      • Have you read George B. Shaw’s “The Intelligent Guide to Socialism”? Have you read anything that isn’t a fantasy? You probably read the Bible. 🙂 Yeah, it’s a fantasy that Trump is a crook. You’re one hilarious dude.

        • Yes, I read Shaw’s book.

          • But you won’t watch this stuff. HIlarious.

            • No sir….I do not watch ABC….including their programming…even if it is sports.

              • Nothing quite like an open mind, sir. So you get your information from who? 🙂

                • I read……the reason I read is because I cannot stand the attitude and the innuendo from pundits…no matter the side. Now, I do not read far left rags nor far right rags,,,,both are extreme.. But, outside of my border duties, I am an investor…a businessman. So, I read the business news from CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, Fox…..I will follow links on all of them from the business perspective and I pride myself in reading all of the competing news to see and understand all sides. I do not believe on over the other. I can decipher myself from what is printed. news should never be one sided and it sometimes becomes difficult to decipher the bullshit. I am old school and subscribe to the philosophy that news should never be biased and journalists should be objective. That time has, unfortunately, has long been gone. Therefore, I read the script and not listen to biased inflection of voice. It serves my purpose.

I also do not glean my news from one sided hearings like the Jan 6. It was one sided from the very beginning. I read about it and draw my conclusions from that. By reading various outputs, one can eventually cut through the BS and ascertain what is actually happening. it is amazing to see how convoluted the so called facts are from the various reporting. I read books that different people have written. From Marx to Reagan and all things in-between. I have read the books written by Obama and Clinton as well as the conservative voices of Hannity and Kilmeade.

I have read the books of Marx and Engels as well as Ghandi. I am looking at my library as I type this and the other authors that are there range from Bukharin, Plekhanov, Lenin, Luxemburg,Djilas, Silone, Orwell, and Harrington to Patton, Rommel, Stalin,, and essays about Ghengis Kahn and Sun Tzu. I have studied the philosophy of Shaka Zulu and his exploits and brilliance. I have read the Communist Manifesto and the Socialist Manifesto. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.

I have read and studied the writings and the origination of this Socialist Democracy…and its Marxist origin. So, I consider my self very well read on both sides. I understand the Pros and Cons of both…..Can you say the same?

                  • If you’re truly that well-read and you don’t listen to the subjective corporate media, then one has to wonder why you’d take the word for the corporate media on business or anything else (your words: “CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, Fox”). And I’m assuming since you’re so well-read that you KNOW that the so-called news in the country went down the shitter and became a political platform for corporations when corporations bought them out and ran them for profit (there’s that capitalism again).

All that aside, how the hell can you say the January 6 hearings are one-sided when you ignore a couple of prime facts. To wit: 1) There are two republicans on it and 2) The Republicans are the ones who wanted it that way (why Trump went nuts on McCarthy for not going along with his first choice, which was to allow republicans on it. Please don’t bring up people who were part and parcel of the BIG LIE (pieces of shit like Jim Jordan or Johnson or Gaetz, etc.)

I’m extremely well-read myself, brother, but apparently not as well-read as you are. I guess the difference is I don’t shut out what I “assume” or “believe” will hurt my eyes. The FACTS of the January 6 hearing thus far are these: ALL BUT 2 of the witnesses have been REPUBLICANS. REPUBLICANS picked by Trump and his team. Same goes for many of the courts that dismissed his absurd fraud claims. Was it really this worldwide deep state conspiracy to make a pathological liar look like he lied? Again, you astound me … but not for your ideology, for your apparent narrow focus which blends perfectly with a pathological liar and his minions. I guess I don’t get it, sir.

                    • You would get it if you take off your blinders on me. You want me to think a certain way or you feel that I should follow a line of some sort. Being well read is a precursor to learning the ways of an adversary, is it not?

I do not care about the republicans on the hearing…nor do I care about witnesses with axes to grind. This is political theater and the fact that Pence wanted nothing to do with it, speaks volumes. It is a political hit job…and it will work. I want a better candidate to run…it remains to be seen. But the hypocrisy that is present is stifling.

I do not watch the business news for its political bend….but the old adage that figures don’t lie but liars can figure holds true. You have to wade through the “slants” to get to the truth. It is really interesting to listen to the different “definitions” that is presented by the media. But there is one fact that cannot be over looked…..no matter the slant, the results lead to the same point. I also watch foreign investing and the markets in those countries, including China.

Yes, corporations own news media….they are for profit and they are run for their own political aspirations. That is common sense. But the same goes for “state” run media like Russia, for example. Once you understand the machinations, you can wade through the bullshit. But you have to separate personal feelings from it and that is the hard part. Even harder to do is to keep emotion out of decisions.

You accuse me, or indicate, that I have a narrow mind. Well, I cannot fault you for thinking that, but who has the narrow mind if you walk in lock step with an ideology?

  99. And the hits keep on coming……Biden building 58 feet of border wall in Arizona…in a Democratic district running for re-election. Nowhere else along the entire border is he doing this. So, after pledging “not one more foot of border wall will be built”……he is closing a gap only in a democrat district where the incumbent is up for re-election.

  100. I am in jail, please release me. We really need a new page. 😊

  101. Would someone explain to me the “doublespeak” from Manchin? He supported this dumb ass bill and justified by stating that he did not vote to raise taxes but close loopholes.

So, it passing an alternative minimum tax 0f 15% where there was none before and it increases tax revenues by imposing a new tax…..can anyone explain to me where that does not raise taxes? Did I miss something (sarc intended). Then, if you can explain that, please explain to me how a corporation raising prices to pay for the new tax is not inflationary? Sorry to burden you but I thought two masters degrees (one in Finance and the other in International Finance) would have prepared me for this but I must have missed class somewhere.

    • Not to worry, the other “radical leftist socialist communist” Kirsten Sinema will likely sink and keep you all jolly. 🙂

      • One could only hope….but I have an economic question for you…..why do you support this inflation rate tied directly to spending….Econ 101…says…..Don’t utilize stimulus…don’t borrow…..

        • Because I suspect the inflation rate is more tied to corporate greed and price gouging. No limits on how they pull that off, not to mention shrinkflation. Isn’t great how capitalism in an unregulated world works? 🙂

          • Just A Citizen says:

Your arguments come directly from the Socialist/Marxist movement of two centuries ago. Not a one of you have gained any knowledge in all that time. Same tired old rhetoric.

But it is also the rhetoric which gets thousands killed in some revolution to establish a form of govt that turns around and kills millions.

Capitalism is freedom and if you hate capitalism, as a system of private ownership, then you hate freedom. Just admit you love of slavery. You only hope you get to be the slave owner or master and not the slave.

Now I am going fishing for a couple of days.

            • “But it is also the rhetoric which gets thousands killed in some revolution to establish a form of govt that turns around and kills millions.”

I wonder if you’ve ever bothered to do a headcount of those killed by America, American influence (to include coups, direct military interventions [even though we haven’t won a war in 70+ years], etc.). I’m interested in the numbers you come up with.

“Capitalism is freedom and if you hate capitalism, as a system of private ownership, then you hate freedom.”

Arguably the dumbest argument I’ve ever come across. How do you breathe in that bubble around your noggin?

“Now I am going fishing for a couple of days.”

If you catch something small, give it the freedom it deserves and throw it back. 🙂

  102. Your party … when confronted with facts, they side with the lunatic liars like Trump … and Dr. Oz … and Herschel f’n Walker … even the Democrats, feckless as they are … corrupt as they are, aren’t close to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ88vqLY-cI

    • What is my party, Charlie. I do not think you know…..if you say Republican, you would be wrong. If you say Democrat, you would be wrong. If you say socialist, you would be wrong and if you say Progressive, you would be dead wrong.

I do not have a party (there is no party registration in Texas) and I have never…ever…in my entire life voted a straight ticket. Not ever…..not even the last election nor the Trump years. Now, I am very fiscally conservative. I am a social moderate. The spousal unit and I actually take the time to read and study each candidate that we would like to vote in favor.

I align with a capitalist movement but I have told you that before. I do not like nor agree with monopolies and try to support the mom and pop stores to the best of my ability. I do not, like Biden, see China as a competitor. They are an enemy with a long term plan that is anti US. If I were in charge, I would have already put their navy on the ocean’s bottom. I am a free market person…..a truly free market without subsidies. That does not make me a Democrat nor Republican. I actually do not know what it makes me to be honest. I do not think I fall on the side of Libertarian. But I am a believer in true freedoms and not the type of stuff we have now. I I wish to open a store, I should be able to do so without government interference. No permits, no OSHA, no EPA…..let the public decide if I am a good person or not. If I am not, then the public will decide whether or not I stay in business. If they do not buy my product…I am toast.

If I can build a better mousetrap than you and produce it cheaper without trademarks and copyrights, I should be able to do so. Does this make me a party hack?
On your post of the U tube…that was nothing more than a person being upset with censure. Too bad…that is politics. But there was something in his interview that stood out…and that was his statement about following the party line. (It seems that the Republicans are taking a page out of the Democratic play book, which is, it does not matter what you believe and it is ok to believe whatever you want, but you better follow the party line.) The Dems have been doing this for decades.

I watched an interview with James Carville, the Ragin’ Cajun…….where he says that politics is not about truth. It is about winning and it is ok to win at all costs. It is not about ideology, it is all about winning and you do what is necessary to win. There are no ethics.

So, what say you, my Plutonian friend, what party am I?

  103. What is my party, Charlie. I do not think you know…..if you say Republican, you would be wrong. If you say Democrat, you would be wrong. If you say socialist, you would be wrong and if you say Progressive, you would be dead wrong.

    • “I do not like nor agree with monopolies and try to support the mom and pop stores to the best of my ability.”

Well, that’s pretty much an impossibility, isn’t it? You can’t support Mom and Pop stores while allowing monopolies … and all capitalism can lead to is what we’re seeing today, Uber Monopolies (Amazon).

“If I were in charge, I would have already put their navy on the ocean’s bottom.”

And had us all killed in a nuclear war. Don’t run for President, please.

“No permits, no OSHA, no EPA…..let the public decide if I am a good person or not.”

Even if a few of the public die in the process? Please don’t open a store.

“The Dems have been doing this for decades.”

I guess you never heard of Bernie Sanders, which is interesting since his name was pretty big from 2015 – 2020 … and they made sure to banish him.

“So, what say you, my Plutonian friend, what party am I?” Beaming from Pluto the following: You will vote 9 out of 10 x’s Republican. 🙂

      • China is bluster behind a weak military. They will not push the button and neither will Putin

““No permits, no OSHA, no EPA…”….Nope, I do not need a Federal Government to tell me what is right or wrong in safety or the environment.

        • We haven’t won a war in 70+ years (Grenada doesn’t count) 🙂 … who are we to make that decision, as to who will or won’t push the button? Thus far we’re the ONLY ones to do so. I suspect if either China or Russia were facing the loss of anything substantial enough, it’s bye-bye everybody.

Now, regarding regulations: You may not need the federal government to tell you what is right or wrong, but most of us do need them to keep you from doing some harmful (the generic you).

          • He’s “the best” patriot … 🙂

            • Let me see if I have this straight. Bill and Hillary discreetly sell access to all comers to the SoS’s office through their charity fund with them being the prime needy recipients. Hunter and Joe secretly sell access to the VP’s office to the Russians, Chinese and Ukrainians. Joe then as POTUS begs the Saudi’s to save his behind by pumping more oil despite the fact that we have more proven reserves than they do. But citizen Trump is the bad guy because he provides a service for a fee out in the open for everyone to see. Do I have this right?

              • They all belong in jail … but for someone who “claims” to love the constitution and the rule of law, you picked the biggest charlatan who attempted to overthrow the constitution and government you claim to love. Remember, T-Ray, Stand Up For America … 🙂

                • We are not talking about J6 here. We are talking about your irrational hatred of the man. I would much rather that a business man such as Trump conduct business with others in the open where all can see than stealthily like the Bidens and Clintons. Trump is providing a service for which he is being justly compensated per the rules of normal commerce unlike the Clintons and Bidens who sell/sold access to the power they hold/held.

When it comes to business with the Saudis, Trump cost them billions of dollars in lost sales and a depressed oil price by opening up domestic production. It is always the last few per cent of a commodity on the market that controls the price. We were in control of the price of oil during the Trump years. Now with Biden’s attack on domestic oil, OPEC is back in control and we are paying the price. To add insult to injury, Biden is begging them for more oil to lower the price advantage he squandered.

When it came to the business of the country, Trump was far more truthful than the current administration. Yes, he was a braggart who blew his own horn which is where most of the documented “lies” fall. But I can differentiate between the business of the country and the self promotion of the man. I told Mathius early on that one needed to calibrate the man. What we have now is a complete set of liars in office who are selling the country out to the highest bidder while destroying our military and economics. Trump did neither of those things. Even worse, Obama and Biden have politicized the DOJ, FBI, IRS and various other agencies.

As JAC said, your assessment of Trump is based in emotions not rational thought and personal observations driven by the the Trump deranged lying MSM.

I would post a link to a CNN on the street interviews of some South Dakotans but all the links I post go into a black hole. The gist of one the street interview was that a simple person in fly over country got the fact that if the J6 committee was so concerned about justice and the Constitution, then where is the defense. The J6 committee is a kangaroo court worthy of a third world dictatorship.

                  • “We are talking about your irrational hatred of the man. This is a hilarious answer that is front loaded, per usual, with whataboutisms. First of all, Donald Trump has been a scam artist his and his father’s entire lives. Do you have any idea how many times this piece of shit was taken to court? Do you have any idea how many bankruptcies he’s filed? Who gives a fuck about Clinton or Biden. Put all 3 in jail. Suits me fine. I worked at Trump Tower as a teenager (as part of an extended deal he had with the mob where non-union punks like myself were given shit jobs (we loved them $16.00 as opposed to $3.25 an hour at the time), but he was and has been dirty ever since. Look at all the ASSHOLES who donated to his BULLSHIT “Defense Fund” … oh, right, you don’t watch the hearings (that was exposed there too) $250,000,000 worth of donated coin by MORONS who believed in his FRAUD BULLSHIT. That money didn’t go near ANY defense fund. SUCKERS.

“When it comes to business with the Saudis, Trump cost them billions of dollars in lost sales and a depressed oil price by opening up domestic production.”

You’re serious here or trying to yank my oinka? Jared, Mnuchin and the Trump family did nothing but gain from that relationship. No different than the Bidens and Ukraine, except it was worth more (and continues to this day).

“It is always the last few per cent of a commodity on the market that controls the price. We were in control of the price of oil during the Trump years. Now with Biden’s attack on domestic oil, OPEC is back in control and we are paying the price. To add insult to injury, Biden is begging them for more oil to lower the price advantage he squandered.”

Biden is a fool, but Trump is a MORON. I’m sure you don’t believe in man made climate change, so I won’t bother explaining it to you. 🙂

“When it came to the business of the country, Trump was far more truthful than the current administration. Even worse, Obama and Biden have politicized the DOJ, FBI, IRS and various other agencies.”

Are you seriously attempting to say Trump “drained the swamp” or that he’s been “transparent?” Good God, you’re a lost soul. As for politicizing the DOJ/FBI/IRS … well, again, if you don’t pay attention to the truth, you get to make up your own world. Try watching the hearings … just once. Trump used and attempted to use the DOJ AND the Military for his own purpose (and it had nothing to do with the constitution) and everything to do with maintaining power (so he wouldn’t face the list of investigations that will bring him and his fugazy company down).

“As JAC said, your assessment of Trump is based in emotions not rational thought and personal observations driven by the the Trump deranged lying MSM.”

My assessment of Trump is based on FACTS. You have ZERO clue of what you’re even attempting to say. Honestly, you’re comical.

“I would post a link to a CNN on the street interviews of some South Dakotans but all the links I post go into a black hole. The gist of one the street interview was that a simple person in fly over country got the fact that if the J6 committee was so concerned about justice and the Constitution, then where is the defense. The J6 committee is a kangaroo court worthy of a third world dictatorship.”

                    1) A hearing is not a court (so stop quoting your favorite rightwing morons) … 2) hopefully we’ll get to see Trump’s defense in an actual court … 3) hopefully, we’ll get to see Eastman, Giuliani, Powell, et al, in a similar court with their defenses too … 4) America is an oligarchal dictatorship and you cheer it on. That’s just funny.

                    • Oh do please explain man made global warming to me, I need a good laugh.

                    • Yes, you’re so intelligent … hundreds of thousands of scientists need to bow to your intelligence. You really need to do stand-up. You make me cry I’m laughing so hard. 🙂

              • Here’s a devout conservative I have ZERO alignment with as regards policy, yet all the respect in the world for this guy … someone you guys won’t even listen to … instead you believe Trump and his pathetic sycophants. Shame on you(s) … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5FfjK05qho

          • “I suspect if either China or Russia were facing the loss of anything substantial enough, it’s bye-bye everybody.”

No sir, your communist and socialist systems will not allow that to happen. You (as you say generic you) love power and control and slavery way too much to allow this to happen. Neither Russia nor China will nuke the world because they lose. No one wins…..they will wield their nuclear power only as a deterrent and to scare their neighbors because of their tactical nukes (ones that will only hurt a 10 mile area and not contaminate the atmosphere).

We will never win another war as long as politicians are in control. It is impossible. As I eluded to earlier (and something that ran Mathius away, I think) was that the days of the plumber, the rosie riveter’s, and the lawyers being privates that storm beaches are over. We have raised a nation of wimps. Mathius’ comment was that I lived in the past (will be 74) and that this is not the 1940’s. Perhaps it should be because the attitude of the 1940’s was what won the war and then we let politicians not even finish that one.

But, without lands and people to rule and whip, the socialists and communists will not allow the destruction of the world.

            • “Perhaps it should be because the attitude of the 1940’s was what won the war and then we let politicians not even finish that one.” …. Russia won the European War … Nukes won the war with Japan. We were late to both dances (WW’s) and dropping nukes is no longer an option without getting them dropped on us. Mathius got it right, I suspect. 🙂

              • Russia got what we gave them….they “won” only through the bullshit civilian negotiations. Patton had it right…we should have pushed them out of Europe. We had the better equipped and better trained army. We missed that one.

Japan….yep…we nuked them…rather we atomized them…..rightly so. It ended the war and saved hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides. But, dropping the big ones did open up the nuclear age.

                • I think it’s pretty much an established fact that Russia was the country that suffered the most and did the most to win against Hitler, but Americans are always free to fantasize about how great our Army was/is. The 70+ year drought in wins doesn’t say much for us, though.

  104. Just A Citizen says:

Remember, remember. You can add the young female veteran executed at the Capital on Jan. 6 to the list of murdered victims.

This is what you get when the Charlie Stellas of the world get hold of govt.

    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/08/lessons_from_ruby_ridge.html

    • Ever hear of Kent or Jackson State?

As for that idiot who got herself killed … that’s blood on your Bunker Boy’s hands … the coward you fools follow. It’s frankly hilarious.

      • Charlie, honest question. What is your explanation of why the crowd assembled in DC Jan 6? Was it loyalty to Trump? or otherwise?

        • He and Bannon and Jordan and a host of other morons called them there to purposely cause a scene and stall the electoral count (during which time, the morons Trump surrounded himself as his lawyers (Giuliani, Eastman and Powell) believed they might convince Pence to ignore certified electors and either replace them with “fake certifications” or get the House to return the election to the states, where the GOP held majorities and could’ve overturned the actual results. He purposely called them there with his “Will be Wild” tweet, which was reinforced by Bannon several dozen times, including Bannon giving away the entire game plan on his dopey video/podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxNoUnxN_cs

        • The first part of his tweet was the usual BS about fraud (thrown out of 60 courts by some of the judge Trump appointed) … the last part of the tweet was his call to arms. Comical. https://www.npr.org/2022/07/13/1111341161/how-trumps-will-be-wild-tweet-drew-rioters-to-the-capitol-on-jan-6

        • Anita, my love. I seriously (VERY SERIOUSLY) suggest you watch the hearings on YouTube. You can probably ignore the first one (although it’s also pretty revealing) because it plays more to emotions (the DC cops who were injured, etc.), but 2-to the last one are very revealing. My favorite was the one that focused on the DOJ and what Bunker Boy tried to do as regards the fake certifications. If they don’t hang that POS, they’ll have failed miserably.

          • I’m sure that when the Republicans gain control of the house, they will have their committees and hearings and you will start yelling Kangaroo court…..oh the futility of politics.

            • I could care less how many Democrats are investigated. Try and remember, I’m a socialist. The Dems and GOP are two sides of the same capitalist coin. Useless and corrupt to the core.

  105. Oh I do remember Sanders and still do. Yes, he got banished by the swamp and will remain there. He would not get my vote. As to your prediction, I am sure that the Plutonian windstorms garbled your message……I think you can say 7 of 10 my votes have been
Republican for POTUS…..not so in Texas…..6 of ten Republicans would be closer….but a conservative Democrat down here is almost the same as a Republican….but again, I hate labels….I vote for the most conservative person I can find with limitations. I am very far from right wing religious….very far.

    • I’m glad you very far right from the lunatics … yet you voted for Trump. I’m trying to marry that as well as Christian evangelicals with Trump. What kind of mental gymnastics does it take for so-called Christians (actually Christian fascists) to align themselves with a dirtbag like Trump?

      • Yes, I voted Trump. Because the alternative, Hillary, was worse than Trump. at least Trump did not murder or caused the murder of anyone….Hillary did. (Benghazi…she was completely in control of that situation but that is old news and needs not to be rehashed on here.)

However, I do wish that there is an alternative to Trump and we shall see in the primaries….if Trump runs again. ( I do not think he will ). Most of the Trump supporters that I know do not want a Trump 2.0. That includes me. But…another however, I will not vote for a Democratic Socialist, a pure socialist, a communist, nor a progressive. I do not believe in those manifestos nor their approach to the elitist class who they support and who they actually are…..( Buffet, Soros, etal). Your side wants total control and your side could care less about the masses. But…it takes two horses to have a horse race, eh? ( Perhaps two horse asses).

I will be like our resident leftist of old……..He said he would vote for an axe murderer before he voted for Trump except that I would be on the other side of the coin. So, it goes on, does it not?

You know, Charlie, we actually used to have statesmen in Congress and Washington….somewhere we lost that.

        • “somewhere we lost that.” Citizen United and the rise of the lunatics supporting Trump … and the FACT the Democratic Party ignored workers for corporations (from Bill Clinton on) … like I told you a few times now, it’s over. Corporations won. Capitalism doomed itself.

  106. Manchin…what dream world are you in? You now have changed your story and have finally said that , yes, you raised taxes on Corporations by closing loop holes……and then you follow it up with a statement that you do not think that the companies you raise taxes on will NOT pass through the increased cost to consumers? (Note to Charlie: Is Manchin on Pluto with you?) Of course they will raise prices to cover the increased cost. I would raise my prices to cover increased costs. Talk to Charlie, he knows how to shake the Dust Mites out from time to time.

What a sham…..you sold out for your pipeline that you wanted and you get a pipeline that no one else gets!!!! I actually had hope that you were a centrist Democrat but…….you are breathing bad air.

    • Manchin is possibly even more corrupt that Trump wanted to be … and Pelosi is … he’s been a Republican in drag from day 1 … as for increasing the cost to consumers … did you have a problem with the price gauging they were doing all along during the pandemic. Corporate profits soared while people lost jobs. I do have a resolution. Raise their taxes, issue a price (not wage) freeze and if they don’t like it, nationalize their asses. Problem solved. 🙂

      • What I especially did not like (and still do not) was all the stimulus packages put out there with no oversight. Without oversight, the corruption was as bad as third world socialists…nothing went where it was supposed to……including all the stimulus money given to corporations who used it for buy backs….the money given to cities who used it to bolster pension funds, and the money given to individuals who bowed out of the work force…….I have never seen more money wasted, even on a bad night at the craps table.

        • You mention a collection of things the bad money went to and ignore all oil industry, Wall Street, corporations …and, of course, Tom Brady’s new yacht. You guys are so obvious. Just keep saying “it’s the democrats!” … 🙂

          • Hmmmm…rereading my post, I do not see a mention of Democrats at all. (It was both sides) Yes, I did mention wall Street, Oil Companies, and Corporations….as a matter of fact I pointed them out…when I said they used money for buybacks. And, who cares about Tom Brady’s new yacht? ( I am unaware that this had to do with stimulus money, but I will research it).

Now, i did NOT get any stimulus money. My Three companies that I own and our ranch did not get any stimulus money….as you know, we are small wildcatters, and our little oil and gas company did not get any stimulus money…as a matter of record, we are prohibited from selling our oil and gas overseas so we are sitting on reserves and nowhere to go with it. no one in our family received stimulus money…..so, yes, I am unaware of the stimulus going places with no oversight. I am dead set against stimulus money. I will always be against it….it is incredibly inflationary.

            • I meant to say I am AWARE of the money going out to pet projects with no over sight.

            • The point, about Brady’s yacht, etc., is that the VAST (VAST, VAST, VAST) amount of stimulus money went to corporations, not “we the people” … and I’d assume you care about “we the people” more than inflation but maybe I’m wrong. The bottom line is that some other countries provided stimulus money to the citizens monthly … not $2,000 for more than a year … while TRILLIONS went to Wall Street et al … you claim you’re against all that stimulus money, yet you vote with it (did you say 6 or 7 x’s out of 10)? 🙂

              • Well, you almost have it correct. 6 times out of ten I voted for Republican conservatives in Texas,,,,which means that 4 out of 10 went to independents or Democrats..not because of their labels but their philosophy.

yes, I care about “we the people” to an extent. I do not like government subsidies and stimulus payments and the C-virus was nothing more than a bad cold. I am not vaccinated and will not be and have had it twice…like a case of the flu and I am not dead at soon to be 74. To pay people to stay home was the most ludicrous and inflationary destruction to our economy greater than any climate catastrophe.

I am well aware where the stimulus money went and the amount (another 2 trillion) that has not even been distributed yet. One has to wonder why? Why is that money unspent? How do they know it is unspent? Where is it? Who controls it? Where will it go? Probably in the hands of the current government. Who knows?

Because I am in business, as is the family, we are pretty knowledgeable on economics or we would not be where we are financially. We are not heavy hitters..we have 300 independent contractors (not employees) so that is not big by any standards. We are in ranching, oil and gas production, landscaping, and investments. We have never received a single dime from the government in stimulus money or grants…we do not qualify. We did not even qualify for the business stimulus money because we were profitable and we have, over the years, accumulated cash in preparation for bad years or bad days. We do take advantage of the same IRS codes that every one, poor and rich alike, can do. Not bragging but we did not get the stimulus that everyone else seemed to get. Not a single one of us received an automatic deposits from the government. If we had, we would have actually sent it back as we send back every single year the government farm subsidy not to grow corn. Our ranch, a cattle ranch, is being paid every single year NOT TO GROW CORN. We are a frigging cattle ranch….we are not farmers but the government pays us not to grow corn. We send it back….but my neighbor ranchers do not…they buy new cars and such. It started out a $55,000 per year and has risen to $80,000 per year not to grow something. We did not apply for it,…..it just shows up because we fit a particular dynamic.

Now, the rub of this situation is, when we were sending it back, it always came back with a letter saying they cannot accept it back and to please cash it. So, we cash it, give the entire amount each year to specific charities and then take a charitable deduction on cash that is a subsidy not subject to tax anyway…..and it is LEGAL and the farm and ranch subsidies of the 60’s and 70’s never sunset and they were liberal giveaway programs. Unbelievable but I have mentioned that on here before. So I know how government works.

This is what I am talking about on oversight. This should not be happening as no stimulus should be happening either. We could have been a country that is debt free and being debt free is more powerful than any nuke out there.

( By the way, ask JAC. He has been to my humble abode…I do not live in a mansion with servants.) I do not hire illegal immigrants as cheap labor. BUT….I do not believe in socialism or communism as they are proven failures. I do not believe in re-branding socialism to Democratic socialism…there is no such animal. So, I will never vote for a socialist….and if my choice is a socialist as compared to Trump….Trump gets my vote. I will hold my nose while I do it. The lesser of two evils.

  107. Charlie…..had a long “discussion” with my son over pricing. He asked me if I think that companies, small or large, should be able to set prices wherever they want. Of course, my answer is yes. He asked me if the government should set prices. I said no. He asked should the profit margins of any company be regulated. again, I said no.

I told him that the market should set the prices and the demand. If people do not like your product, they will not buy it. The government has no business in private enterprise. There are exceptions but in general that is it.

my guess with you is you believe that government should be in the business of price controls. Would I be correct?

  108. ” Charlie, my friend….”Yes, you’re so intelligent … hundreds of thousands of scientists need to bow to your intelligence. You really need to do stand-up. You make me cry I’m laughing so hard. 🙂” You really buy into this? Thousands of scientists, who are not recipients of grants, also disagree but let’s not quibble……lets check out the facts right quick.

And my favorite: Jeremy Weirich, NOAA Ocean Exploration director, says you are more likely to die from Harry Potter’s Pumpkin Juice in the next 100 years than any global climate change from the alarmists.

    • All right wing nutjobs, probably … but here’s one of your favorite conspiracy theorists. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6yeDpPut-d4

      • Tch Tch Tch…..not my conspiracy theorists….I do not think you can link me to ANY conspiracy theory out there….except one. The border.,,and that is not a theory.

        • What you did was the ultimate straw man argument, but it does not negate what 99% of scientists around the world know full well. So it goes.

          • Straw man argument? You point to things all the time and you cannot back up your 99% figure but, you are correct, so it goes. The facts are that everyone of those things I listed were predicted and they did not happen. Can you show me where one has come true?

            • No, but I can show you how man made climate change is affecting the Arctic … but then again, you won’t believe it anyway. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeYJTluQ5tM

              • I have seen this before on NOVA….very interesting things on how to take garbage and stuff and make it work..all of it is great. This same documentary also showed how to turn coal dust and fly ash into good things. So, you burn coal for cheaper electricity and then you take the waste and turn it into something positive. That is how to use natural resources. Nothing wrong with this but you do not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Use your natural resources like down in Houston where all emissions from the refineries are captured and turned into energy to power the refineries.

What I do not like is the attempt to Bio Change the atmosphere. They better be sure of the unintended consequences. That would be like messing with DNA and cloning humans. It is not natural.

By the way, if I show you links where the arctic is getting larger and not smaller, will you believe it?

          • The 97% agreement figure pushed by BHO and others including you has been proven wrong many many times. It is a lie. First science does not work on consensus. Second, the original study that made the claim threw out 97% of the articles and based their conclusions on the remainder. So the real number is under 5%.

“It doesn’t matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. If it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong.” [Physics Prof. & Nobelist Richard Feyman] In science we change the theory when it does not agree with the reality unlike NOAA and NASA who have been changing the data to fit the theory. THEY ARE LYING TO YOU!

Storms are not more severe or frequent, neither are floods, hurricanes or tornadoes. Forest fire acreage is down almost 90% from the early 1900’s. It only appears to be up because it went through a minimum in the late 70’s so they started publishing only the data since 1980; which coincidentally is when we started to curtail logging and controlled burns.

We have warmed a total of 1.4°C since coming out of the Little Ice age in 1850. This is insignificant compared to the 15°C diurnal temperature swings and the 50°C annual temperature variations. Furthermore man has always thrived in a warmer climate and died in cold periods. CO2 levels have been 10x what they are today and plant and animal life thrived. With the modest increase from 280 ppm to 400 ppm, we already see a greening plant.

The dire predictions of runaway temperature increases are based solely on computer models and not on empirical data. These models are based on incomplete knowledge of earth science and will produce any result you want depending on the input starting parameters. The models have failed miserably to predict the last 20 years. If you used such a model to predict the spin of a roulette wheel in a casino, you would leave broke which is what we will be if we continue on this path.

There is no existential climate threat in the coming century. You have been duped and lied to and for that you should be angry.

      • Come on Charlie….quit it. I can post links all day to counter your links….MY point is…….whom do you believe. All are reputable scientists…..and Cornell..one of the largest government subsidy recipients ever……..really now. So…..you and I are going to have to agree that there are competing ideas out there and competing ideas within NOAA, NASA..and such. But I will give your side credit for changing from Global warming (which is not happening) to Climate Change. Now, we are in agreement that the climate changes to extremes and has been doing such for tens of thousands of years.

        • As long as you have a way to ignore reality, so be it. Some people believe there’s a God … others know better. So it goes.

          • It really is going to throw the world into a frenzy when the first spaceship lands and a little green person exits and says….”We have been observing you for a million years.”

            • 🙂 … So, what say you about all the missing text messages from TRUMP appointed agency heads and the Secret Service surrounding January 5 and 6? Are you cheering on the criminal activities of Bunker Boy and his minions or do you really care about law and order and justice? Inquiring minds want to know, sir! 🙂 https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-news-primaries-result-endorsement-jan-6-b2136968.html

              • You need to clarify “Bunker Boy”….you are talking Biden, yes?

as to the missing texts,,,,I do not like missing texts, missing computer drives, erased computer drives, erased tapes…..all of this from either side shows criminal activity.

                • Thank you for acknowledging criminal activity … now, why would they do this on January 5 and 6 ONLY? Hmmmm, something smells of the ONLY guy to hide in a Bunker (Trump). 🙂

                  • Ahh,,,because Biden is the King of the bunkers. I had to clarify…..and as to the mysterious erasure and disappearances, I do not think it is confined to 5/6…..that was their focus. I would be willing to bet that it is common criminal activity to have erasures and disappearances in every single Presidency. The Clintons were very good at it…..very good.

                    • That said, if the acts that Trump did rise to criminal behavior, then I suspect that there will be a formal charge and court proceeding on it. In the absence of same, then there is innocence until proven guilty. Guilt is not in the purview of a “hearing”. Guilt is conviction in a court of law. We shall see what happens. I think that once Trump decides not to run for the Presidency…it all goes away.

                  • But that does not change my mind….any erasures, loss of cell phones, computer erasures , mining and swiping of hard drives……all indicate criminal activity. That does not make it so.

                    • Interesting words you use: “then there is innocence until proven guilty.” Makes one wonder why you call the January 6 hearings “a Kangaroo court” 🙂

  109. Scope: In 2009, Anthony Watts organized a team of volunteers who inspected and took photographs of all the US weather stations they could identify that make up the ground-based system for measuring surface-air temperature in the US. This system was once considered the gold standard for the world. The team found about 96 percent of U.S. stations failed to meet the standards the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) considers to be “acceptable.” Initially, NOAA dismissed the report claiming it could “correct” any errors in measurement. An investigation by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) followed and several “peer reviewed” papers were published demonstrating how poorly placed stations can create measurements with a considerable warming bias. NOAA and the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) promised to do better.

A 2015 report by the Watts’ team found that NOAA and NCDC hadn’t. Now a report on a new survey of surface stations by a team organized by Watts is available. Some stations are properly sited, but many are not. The new report includes some infrared photos showing how instruments can give biased readings from energy emitted by nearby structures. Details of the new project will be discussed.

  110. My Facebook Post today: You will often see me write, “Texas, where integrity goes to die.” I have a few friends in Texas and they have boatloads of integrity, so that generalization doesn’t apply (none ever do), but when the vast majority of a state supports, cheers, and endorses despicable people and their even more despicable policies, it’s difficult to ignore that generalization.

Enter Hungarian, right wing strongman, Viktor Orbán. He is against mixed races, homosexuality, and immigrants, and has alienated himself from the rest of Europe with an ideology that seems to come straight from Mein Kampf (“a 1925 autobiographical manifesto by Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler. The work describes the process by which Hitler became antisemitic and outlines his political ideology and future plans for Germany”).

Orbán: “There is a world in which European peoples are mixed together with those arriving from outside Europe. Now that is a mixed-race world,” he told an annual gathering of tens of thousands of admirers at Baile Tusnad in Romania in July. “And there is our world, where people from within Europe mix with one another… in the Carpathian Basin we are not mixed-race: we are simply a mixture of peoples living in our own European homeland.”

Two days later, Zsuzsa Hegedus publicly condemned Orbán’s remarks as “a pure Nazi text, worthy of Joseph Goebbels” – Hitler’s propaganda chief. She resigned as his adviser on social inclusion, and a bruising exchange of letters followed. He said his remarks were misrepresented.

So, to summarize, Orbán is against mixed races, homosexuality and immigration. He is NOT welcomed in Europe, where he rules as a tyrant over Hungary … but, well, some Americans and one particular party, ADORES him.

So, guess where he is adored? Did I make it too easy? CPAC is the Conservative Political Action Conference where conservative Republicans meet to plan their next putsch (i.e., a violent attempt to overthrow a government). This year, in TEXAS, they are embracing Victor Orbán and the official Nazification of the Republican Party. Last week Orbán visited Trump and the two got along famously (Gee, I wonder why?) … and now that the Republican Party is Trump’s Party, we can all rest assured that RACISM, HOMOPHOBIA AND XENOPHOBIA will remain ALIVE AND WELL in the United States of America. After all, ONE of our TWO corrupt to the core political parties, has EMBRACED WHITE, HETEROSEXUAL, NATIONALISTIC RULE … just like ADOLF HITLER did in Germany back in what the Republican Party would call “the good old days.”

So, if you’re a Republican and you’re going to vote MAGA (which is akin to what in 1939 the Nazi Party sang “Deutschland Über Alles”), guess what? You’re a homophobic, nationalistic, racist too. Congratulations ________!
