OK, This used to be the page where I had the Libertarian platform Acts. However, as the blog has grown and we have found our way to other interesting series of articles, I decided that I didn’t want to have the top of the main page littered with different pages for different series. Instead I decided to do things this way. Each of the “Series” of articles that I do will be here on this page. I will write a quick summary of what the series was about and then have all of the articles from that series listed below. It is the easy way to find all the different parts in one place. So for those that want to go back and read the series we have covered, here they are:

A semi-detailed look at American politics from the mid-1800’s through the current administration, focused on pointing out the slow build-up to where we are today. Continued government expansion and control, along with continued encroachment on private industry and individual liberty is the focus. The six parts can be found here:

Part 1 – In Part 1 we cover the reason for the series and begin by defining the players: Conservatives, Liberals, The Christian Right, Statists, Individual, Parties, and Civil Society.

Part 2 – In Part 2 we cover the definitions of the different forms of government such as Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Democracy, as well as Capitalism. We also begin the journey through the past with the Civil War.

Part 3 – In Part 3 we cover the turn of the century era and the Progressive movement’s beginnings with Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and FDR.

Part 4 – In Part 4 we cover Lyndon Johnson and the “Great Society”, Nixon, Ford and Carter and set up for part 5.

Part 5 – In Part 5 we switched away from coverage of a specific Presidency and instead focused on movements and how they impacted the increase in government control and size. We discuss primarily the Environmental Movement and the movement towards massively increasing entitlement programs.

Part 6 – In Part 6 we cover Bush and the fact that he furthered the move towards socialism with the Patriot Act and Medicare, along with the last year and TARP and bailouts. And we wrap up with the massive government and entitlement expansion being pursued by Obama.

A very important series on philosophy and morals and ethics. In this series, led by Just A Citizen, Black Flag, and USWeapon, we delve into the philosophies behind the movement. Discussions include how to start from the correct moral base as we find a better path forward for the country. If we want to fix today’s troubles, it starts be building a solid base to work from.

Part 1 – In the first installment, the discussion focuses on philosophy and why it is important. As a foundation for moral and ethical progress, the importance of philosophy is expounded on and explained with the help of some passages from Ayn Rand herself!

Part 2 – Detective Training 101. After learning why philosophy was important, the next step is to learn how to study philosophy, at least in a very basic way. After all, you can’t find the treasure without some basic skills in map reading, compass use and deductive reasoning. This introduces you to a method of detecting principles or concepts behind the statements or position of others and, of course, yourself.

Another Series with utmost importance during these very turbulent times. As the President and Congress barrel on towards a total reform of the US Health Care System, we take a harder look at truths and untruths in the debate. If you want to understand the health care debate, this is a must read series.

Part 1 – “Making the Case for Reform” In part one we look at the statistics and claims being made by those in government that are telling us that we face a national emergency around health care. We analyze how accurate the statistics thrown at us are and debunk some myths and rhetoric.
