Tuesday Night Open Mic for May 25, 2010

I apologize that there was not an article for everyone when they awoke yesterday morning. I wanted to write last night but simply ran out of time after taking care of all the other things that I had to get done. I appreciated the somewhat limited responses to the BP article. I understand the points some were making. I hope that eventually everyone will at least consider my point as well. Tonight for open mic we have a few interesting topics, but none that made me jump up and down with excitement. We have Congress banning dropside cribs, ensuring that those with bad backs will forever regret having children. We also have more nonsense from the left’s reigning gasbag, Alan Grayson. Add to that the federal government going on record showing us the very reason why Arizona felt that the only recourse they had was to take immigration enforcement into their own hands. Finally, we have the situation in Korea and the Secretary of State’s call for the international community to act against North Korea. As always, please feel free to add topics that you want to discuss!
Open Mic on Wednesday Morning

Tuesday Night Open Mic for March 23, 2010

Tuesday night comes and it couldn’t come a moment too soon. I have never hid the fact that I like the open mic nights. Not only can I talk about topics in a short form without a lot of research, but I get to see all the stuff that everyone else wants to talk about. And as an added bonus, we come off a day where there was lots of discussions around the health care situation. During the day Wednesday I may weigh in more on health care (if I do decide to do this I will move it to this thread). But I also wanted to address some other topics, such as the one that JAC began towards the end of Monday that I promised I would post tonight. Meanwhile, Canine Weapon decided tonight that our couch was a pillow, and a pillow was a toy, so he literally tore open the couch and deposited stuffing throughout the living room. There is a move that will cost us a couple grand to rectify. Fortunately, it was the old couch, not the new one. Took him all of 15 minutes to completely destroy it. The joys of puppyhood.
I say Open Mic, Canine Weapon says Open Couch Buffet

Tuesday Night Open Mic for February 2, 2010

Tuesday night open mic comes to us yet again, and to be honest I am somewhat surprised that I have even made it to this point in the week! Some health scares (a nice way to describe what this weekend was like) for Mrs. Weapon had us spending the majority of the last 4 or 5 days either in an emergency room, a doctor’s office, or at home with my watching over her. Fortunately, I had written Monday morning’s article on Friday night so I didn’t have to worry about writing ( I simply wouldn’t have written). And now as things settle into a more stable environment for a bit, I find myself exhausted and really just wanting to sleep for about 2 days. But alas! There is writing to be done and subjects to be covered! So here I am, as dedicated as ever, with my beautiful wife soundly sleeping and feeling much better. An interesting aray of topics for tonight. This week we get to discuss the BCS, China threatening Obama, our shrinking democracy, and of all things… Keith Olbermann :shudder:

UN Climate Change Treaty

As many of you are aware, this December Denmark will be the site of the United Nations Climate Conference. Several weeks ago there was a video posted on this site, I don’t remember who posted it, by Lord Christopher Monckton. He was giving a speech at Bethel University and was discussing the upcoming conference, the treaty that was being discussed, and the ramifications of such treaty for the United States. I remember watching the video and wondering, “how much of what he says is real and how much of it is ‘Glenn Beckish’ in its conclusions?” So I began to read more, study more, and figure out what I could about the upcoming conference and the treaty being discussed. I was stunned to find that Lord Monckton was pretty accurate with what he was saying. And I decided that I was going to write about the subject. I have been attempting to gather information in the weeks since then. I am now ready to present to all of you what I found. Because there are only 12 days to this insane conference…

A Slow Boat to China…

us-china-yin-yangOK, Time to tie a couple of things together here and see what everyone thinks. I was talking to Revolution2010 about this through text messages and finally tonight on the phone and we agreed on the relevance. So I am going to do my best to convey the thoughts we were having. I will be interested in hearing form everyone as to whether they think we may be seeing the first moves of a problem or whether it is nothing to worry about. We have to really begin discussing the situation that we are putting ourselves into in terms of our ability to remain a viable world power. Is the countdown already started towards the demise of our United States?
