Global Warming Part IX?

Obama on Rick Perry: “Governor Whose State Is on Fire Denying Global Warming.”
So Obama and liberals make the claim Republicans don’t believe in science because they don’t buy the media/Al Gore position that the science is settled, consensus, etc…  IMO, science is never settled, you have a few “Laws of Science” with a LOT more theories(like evolution).  Does “global warming” cause wildfires?  Sure seems to me wildfires have been around a lot longer than global warming.  Again, IMO, global warming began around the time of our civil war, with the end of the “Little Ice Age”.  Perspective, when it warms enough the Thames river in England or the Hudson in New York stop freezing several feet thick, it has warmed! (In England, they had winter carnivals on the Thames, so very THICK ice from very cold winters) And I think Obama has done what politicians do, twisted words and meanings around.  I have never heard Perry say AGW is bulldookey, and damned few Republicans for that matter.  And wasn’t this Bushes fault a couple years ago????

Poking Holes in Swiss Cheese

As much as it may seem that there simply isn’t a need to continue to poke holes in the failed fear-mongering around Anthropogenic Global Warming, I must warn you that the issue is far from dead. Now that enough has been done to show that, despite the environmentalist claims, the science is not settled (in fact, it is apparently manipulated and distorted to create desired results rather than accurate ones), the environmental alarmists have begun to switch their tactics. Now, instead of telling us the world is ending, they are forced to rely on “Well, on the off-chance that we are right about man made global warming, the results would be catastrophic, so we must act.” Problem is, there simply isn’t any way to accurately predict the outcomes. But we should not let anything as silly as accuracy or reality get in the way of doom required government action, should we?

Tuesday Night Open Mic for September 21, 2010

We reach Tuesday night on the heels of some interesting discussion around Atlas Shrugged and the concepts of the Objectivist philosophy. I will attempt to find time today to answer some of the comments directed at me. I will say up front that there were quite a few fallacies built into the opposition to my articles. I have grown accustomed to such things. But I will once again point them out and do my best to discuss them to completion. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts on the two articles. I assumed there would be folks on both sides. But I was surprised by the lack of understanding on them. Perhaps I needed to do a better job explaining or discussing. For tonight we have more ridiculous name changes from the White House meant to fool voters, a company that is majority owned by government contributing to government campaigns, an attempt to marginalize through association rather than substance, and an interesting poll discussing voter’s feelings about candidates who are willing to compromise. Feel free to add your own topics, as always.

Johann Hari and the Dying Wails of a Small Minded Mission

We begin another week with another look into the fascinating world of the global warming alarmists who, at this point, are merely incapable of using reason or logic to think things through. I have to admit that I admire the tenacity that these folks have. Despite massive amounts of counter-arguments, they still manage to move forward with the warning calls, completely ignoring all the things that simply render their argument moot. I think the thing that fascinates me the most about these carnival barkers is that they continually lambast opponents for using faulty logic or ill-conceived arguments, and then they go right ahead and do exactly what it is they just railed about. It boggles the mind. Global warming is something that I simply cannot ignore. The consequences of allowing the progressive movement to move forward with their plans are simply too devastating. At this point, I see the really loud voices in the debate as nearly as crack-pottish as Cesca is about racism. Therefore, I will continue to hammer them until the world shouts them down as the fruitballs that they are.

Tuesday Night Open Mic for March 30, 2010

Alas, I already find myself at the Tuesday Night Open Mic. It has been a quick start to the week. The conversations thus far have been interesting. The individual liberty discussions were especially good, but we didn’t get to the core of the issues quite yet. We danced around some of them. I will be bringing that article forward in a couple days instead of posting another article so that the discussions can go further. Open mic brings a host of different topics, from global warming taking a larger international hit to the President attempting to mischaracterize the tea party movement. Sprinkled in there we have Arriana Huffington completely missing on her reasoning for the decline of innovation in America and the courts issuing a stupid verdict in the case of the hatemongers from Westbor Baptist (it is not a) Church. We also have a little bit of government claiming that fearing the government is a good thing and a good old politician playing a politician’s game, and sucking at it. As an added bonus I brought over a Black Flag offering from late Tuesday that many may have missed.

Tuesday Night Open Mic for January 12, 2010

Tuesday night open mic comes to us and I have found some interesting articles. I did intentionally avoid the “Sarah Palin coming to Fox” story. I prefer to wait that one out and see what she brings to the table before offering my opinion on the move. She may be great… she may be horrible. Time will tell. However, I do bring some global warming change to mini ice age, some “solutions” to unemployment, and the mortal threat of deer to our existence. Plus a little lapse of individual liberty from, of all places, Texas. I am sure you have all noticed that I have not written as much lately. I am sure you understand the holiday season for me and what made it so. I am also contemplating some changes to my writing schedule that would be more permanent. I will post my thoughts and get everyone’s opinion of them once I flesh them out in my own head. What I would like to do is get to a point where I have the time to be more active in the discussions again. I miss the debates!

And Now the Data Disappears?

I have to admit that I am quite surprised to see how the world of man causing global warming, or even climate change, is disintegrating right before my very eyes. You have to admit that the build-up was impressive. They really did a good job of snowing everyone, forcing compliance, and bullying anyone who dared to question the “facts about global climate change.” But over the last month, the revelations have been coming fast and furious. And the panic that is starting to appear in the global warming folk’s ranks is providing for some awfully good comedic relief. I am pretty sure that Al Gore is sitting at home attempting to come up with a plan. “If I could covertly detonate 43 nuclear warheads, the earth would surely have to heat up a little bit and we can get my money-making pyramid scheme up and running again in no time!”

Tuesday Night Open Mic for November 24, 2009

Well, the open mic comes as we prepare to take a couple days for Thanksgiving. I will be taking some time off the blog as well. There will be no post on the night of Thanksgiving and I will do a guest commentary if I have one on Friday night, but if I don’t have a guest commentary submitted that night I will do either an open mic or not have an article. As many of you know, Friday begins my season of madness that lasts through Christmas. I will post as often as I am able, but there may be some nights with very little. I appreciate everyone understanding, as the season really is pure madness for me. The last couple days have been good conversations, but I do have to say that I am missing JAC and BF (Hope you feel better my pirate friend), especially on that first post this week about the path forward. I may have to rehash that article again later so that they can participate. I think we need to begin formulating a plan for what we can do. Tonight’s open mic has some good stuff, so I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

UN Climate Change Treaty

As many of you are aware, this December Denmark will be the site of the United Nations Climate Conference. Several weeks ago there was a video posted on this site, I don’t remember who posted it, by Lord Christopher Monckton. He was giving a speech at Bethel University and was discussing the upcoming conference, the treaty that was being discussed, and the ramifications of such treaty for the United States. I remember watching the video and wondering, “how much of what he says is real and how much of it is ‘Glenn Beckish’ in its conclusions?” So I began to read more, study more, and figure out what I could about the upcoming conference and the treaty being discussed. I was stunned to find that Lord Monckton was pretty accurate with what he was saying. And I decided that I was going to write about the subject. I have been attempting to gather information in the weeks since then. I am now ready to present to all of you what I found. Because there are only 12 days to this insane conference…

A Promise Broken… but Only for a Night!

I know that I told everyone that tonight I would offer the second part of the reason and values article. And I really tried to make it happen. Mrs. Weapon needed a little extra of my time tonight. I then started to get to work and found that I was rushing through in order to finish it tonight. As a result I ended up with a rant that had no coherent thought. I erased it all and started over. But I cannot finish it tonight without ending up with something I would not be comfortable posting. So I will push it to tomorrow and offer something quick this evening.
A Little Global Warming to Start the Week

Tuesday Night Open Mic for September 22, 2009

Open Mic 1Tuesday Night Open Mic is upon us again. I wanted to write last night. I really did. However, Mrs. Weapon needed me more than you guys needed me. So she won. For the record she is starting to improve. She is still pretty sore and she can’t be on her feet for more than a few minutes, but each day gets a little better. As always, I appreciate the well wishes from all of you, as does Mrs. Weapon. As I was reading news last night there were all these different things that I saw that I thought, “oh, that would be a good one for the ‘quick hit’ open mic style.” My hope is that I will be able to go back and find them all tonight. The upcoming days will see me addressing the race issue a bit further and continuing on with some good articles I have been working on. I am hoping in the coming couple of weeks to offer a couple of further pieces on health care and a couple more articles that help us to debate and define our positions going forward. Should be interesting.

A Response to Ray (and my other Critics)

stand-up-for-americaBecause of the view that I get of the comments that come into the site, I see what is posted in the order it was posted, not under whatever topic it is posted under. I know that many of you don’t always go back and read the past articles comments looking for new responses, and even if you wanted to, some of them have a long list of comments to look through. The other night I singled out Ray, stating that he “will label me a closet Republican who is serving a secret undercover agenda, possibly with the assistance of Dick Cheney and Sean Hannity”. To be fair, Ray, you have leveled claims somewhat to that effect at me, but I meant it as a joke. I did not mean it maliciously or as a jab at you, so I wanted to say that publicly and hope that you accept my apology if it offended you. But there is more for me to say here…

Friday Night Free-For-All

US Congress BuildingAs I sat around this evening literally dejected over the results of the house vote on cap and tax, I was wondering to myself what this really means for you and I as we go forward in our worlds. I am going to touch on this briefly, at least offering what I think the next step will be. But in my true fashion for a Friday night where I don’t have a guest commentary ready to go, I am going to offer up something a little more substantive than I did the last time. Last time we had an open mic posted for Friday night. Tonight I am instead going to attempt to hit three separate topics, each of them quickly so that I don’t drone on forever. I will touch the bill passed today in the House, Michael Jackson and his legacy, and a strange case of the entitlement flu in the Black Democratic Caucus.
Hit and Runs on 3 Topics

Strike While the Crisis is “Hot”

hottest-hoaxSo I was perusing the news today while on my dinner break, reading about the South Carolina Governor Hoo Ha. I clicked back out to the main articles and delved into the articles about Ahmadenijad giving the US a stern verbal warning for interfering in their election process and governmental affairs (Did he even watch Obama’s press conference?). And low and behold I saw the article that would be the chosen topic for the day. The article was titled “Obama: Now Is the Time to Pass Climate Change Bill”. You guys know what I think of this whole man made global warming bullcrap. So I read the article to see what kind of bullcrap environmentalist rhetoric would be shared with us today. It turns out that this is a lot of more of the same, but we are already again seeing the terms crisis and imminent threat being throw around in regard to climate change. And I am not buying it even one little bit. Game on Mr. President.
Hurry Up… They are Starting to Figure us Out

Won’t Global Warming Lead to Global Cooling?

Just a thought here…. If global warming is all that they say, and the earth continues to heat up, won’t we all find ourselves in a position to no longer need to use our heaters in the winter? And won’t a lack of heater use eventually bring the temperature down? I know that is a ridiculous idea, but no more ridiculous than the madness that I call global warming hysterics. I am beginning to worry about this again based on the reports coming out of Al Gore and the new President Elect.
