Living in Their Own Reality….

Democrat Leaders, that is. I got a comment today that made me sit back and evaluate whether I was being fair for judging the Messiah’s actions so quickly, before they had a chance to succeed or fail. It was a fair comment based on what I had written in the “RUSH” post. But what I really started thinking about was the alternate reality that the Democratic Leadership is living in. So I figured I would open it for discussion.

An Uproar Over the “Racist” Prayer

A full day has passed since the inauguration of President Obama. I thought it all went pretty well. I have some thoughts about the speech he gave, but this is not the post for that. What I am amazed by is how many people are talking about the prayer given towards the end of the ceremony where the words “where white will embrace what is right” were incorporated into the prayer. It seems many people are angry about this. It seems others are feeling it is dead on accurate. I am not in either of those camps…

Where Do Republicans Go From Here?

I had some good comments on yesterday’s post, but one commenter really struck me. They were angry, but wanted to have hope, and wondered “where do I go from here?” This struck me because so many people have asked me lately what the next step for the Republican Party is. They figure I am more politically active than most so I will have an answer. I don’t have an answer offered by the Republican Party. But I do have an answer for where I intend to go from here. So I figured I would share it and hopefully help others sort their own feelings out as well.

Reflections on the Inauguration

presidential-sealSo here we sit on Inauguration day. In a couple of hours we will swear in a new President and bid goodbye to George W. Bush as Commander in Chief. I do so with mixed feelings on the matter. I am sad to see George W. Bush go away. I liked who he was despite his flaws. But I am also looking forward to President Obama and learning about how he is going to change our country. So I thought I would share my thoughts as we move on to the next chapter in American history.

I Shouldn’t be Subjected to Yankee’s Fans, Either…

Today we see in the news that the Freedom From Religion Foundation is suing to keep Barack Obama from using the phrase “So Help Me God” during his official taking of the oath of office on January 20. Additionally the group is suing to keep Pastor Rick Warren from giving the invocation. According to the group, failure to eliminate these things is a violation of the separation of Church and State. Nut Jobs in America pushing themselves on the rest of us is what I say…
