A Tyrants Desires In Real Time

This article, with Life of Illusions suggestion being a big part of it, will focus on something that was said during the lead up to the 2008 Presidential election.  I am rather unfortunate to have been “in touch” with what was said since it was said.  Here it is:

This is the whole speech given by Obama, stating he wanted a National police force as strong as the military.  I actually sat through this whole thing again, because I’m sure this will be posted:  http://www.factcheck.org/2008/11/obamas-national-security-force/   The last line in the Factcheck article is this:  Does that sound like a force that could kick down your door in the middle of the night and haul you off to a Gulag or concentration camp? You decide.

Yes, you decide if the SWAT raids are doing exactly what the question asks.  You decide if the attack on the police departments, small and large, are not an attempt to Federalize the police force.  Think about it!  While Factcheck claims it’s about AmeriCorps. the whole idea of AmeriCorps being a police force is absurd on it’s face.  However, the DHS isn’t:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Homeland_Security

Listening to Obama’s speech above, and the many, many historical connotations spoken, it’s a very small stretch to see an endgame to what is currently going on when it comes to our police.  McKinney Texas is just another example of how the MSM is playing a major role in this.  Here’s your chance to see the future, as told by Obama, as it’s happening.

A Different Vision

As I go through all the different news and opinion articles, it’s hard to not see just how bad things have become in our nation. We no longer control our government. There are two voices of government, as you all know. The Democrats (known as Liberals for some reason) and the Republicans (known as conservatives for some reason). We, as a people who are politically in tune, follow one or the other. The Democrats are considered left of center, the Republicans are right of center on the fantasy political scale.  I stand on the right of center, but I do not consider myself a Republican.  I attack those on the left, because I disagree with them.  It’s quite simple, really.  My beliefs really aren’t in agreement with the Right, either.  This is what will try and focus on in this article.  The Republicans are just as much the enemy as the Democrats in the United States of America!  This is my best attempt to prove that, so pay attention and open your minds!

Sequestration Weekend Chat

It’s finally here! The formulated crisis known as Sequestration is to occur today at Midnight. I will be looking out the window waiting with bated breath, watching the sky fall! OH!, You mean it won’t fall? It was never really going to fall? Please don’t tell me that our illustrious President and members of his Administration have not been telling the truth!

Tuesday Chat

Time to speed up the process alittle. I’m still curious about the Sequester mess that is all over the news. The way the MSM and the White House makes it out to be, this 2% cut in future spending is going to cause all the problems that Obama has been railing about. Is Obama lying again?  Probably a dumb question.  On another note, the Republicans have been rather useless, but then again, the MSM don’t give them much air time.  Should we not hold each MSM outlet accountable by calling them out?

Mid Week Discussion

After last night’s State of the Union Address, I’m sure that there should be some fairly good comments on Obama’s speech. While I had some fun with it last night, I need to go back and read what he said more closely.  Here is a link to the speech:   http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/12/transcript-obama-state-union-speech/

After the speech, Marco Rubio took over the TV screen (I missed this completely) with the GOP answer to Obama’s speech.  His comments can be found here:  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/13/rubio-obama-must-abandon-his-obsession-with-tax-hikes/

In other news, it appears that the Chris Dorner story has come to a smokey end.  He is believed to be dead in a burned out cabin in California, after shooting and killing one more cop going out.  The charred body must still be identified, but it looks like it will be Dorner.

A Government Lost

Trying to formulate an idea for an article here at SUFA is no easy task. It seems we have talked almost everything to death, we don’t need to keep shooting the dead horse anymore. That means it’s time to tackle some tougher issues that many people either want to ignore, are completely blind to this, or don’t want to talk about such a troubling subject.  I’m not going to hide the fact that I do not like Obama and what he stands for.  Many people may read what I’m going to write and look at this as just another Obama bashing.  But, it is far from it.  It is also about the next President and the next one after that and so on.  This is all based on facts, not a dislike for Liberals or any one person.  This is about our Federal Government, as a whole.  Both sides of the political spectrum, everyone included.  Our form of Federal Government is derived by the people.  WE THE PEOPLE are supposed to be in charge.  That’s the problem, we are not in charge of  “A Government Lost”.

Time to Add a Thought or Two

Well now, I am back from a blistering trip to South Africa (blistering because every day was filled with lots to do). Mrs. Weapon and I survived the sharks, the Cheetahs, the Lions, the Rhinos, the Leopards, the Crocs, the Baboons, and all the other creatures of the continent. I will share a bit more of the trip as we go, but I wanted to take some time and add a few thoughts to the fray as we near yet another election of the person to “Lead” this country. I put lead in quotation marks because leadership has not thus far been a very strong characteristic of those in the position. I think the last few have preferred to “Rule” as opposed to “Lead.” I have to tell you up front that I am severely disappointed in this election cycle, just as I have been in others in the past. But it really does seem like each election cycle gets exponentially worse. I could be wrong, but I don’t think I am…
Just Some Quick Thoughts from USWeapon

A Few Trayvon Martin Thoughts

This seems to be getting so much air time these days and the folks on one side of the issue are using it as an excuse to make all kinds of demands. Let me say up front that what happened to this young man was a tragedy. If the facts as we know them stand, George Zimmerman should go to jail for a very, very long time. Will he or won’t he? Hard to say. I believe that in the end, justice will prevail in this case. I guess the real question is whether justice would have prevailed if people hadn’t screamed loud enough to basically force outside looks into how the Sanford PD was handling this case. With all that said, I offer my thoughts on what happened, hoodies, the resulting “movement”, and the Stand Your Ground law…

Some Explanations are In Order…

Greetings SUFA! I know, you are wondering who is this stranger and why is he acting as if he knows us. But it is me. I am still alive. I figured that it was about time that I forced myself to sit down and offer some explanations as to why you haven’t seen very much of me over the last few months. I do honestly feel bad about it. Here I went and created this site and after three years of ranting and arguing, I up and practically disappear on you. There are several realities that have contributed to this and I am hoping to fill you all in on them today. I will also discuss the future of SUFA towards the end so that we can begin figuring out how to handle these new realities. Because what I don’t want to happen is for SUFA to go away. I believe that somehow breaking through the lack of critical thinking barrier that so many Americans are stuck behind is still way too important to give up now.
USW Explains His Absence

Let’s Not Forget Reality

With the news last week that President Obama intends to have all troops out of Iraq “by the holidays,” many of the major “news” outlets have begun a campaign to give the President an inordinate amount of credit for what many Americans feel have been foreign policy wins. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. Even here at SUFA we had folks give him more credit than he deserved for foreign policy actions in the past. But before we start just handing out “Obama 2012: Tough on Terror”campaign buttons, we really should take a look at how we got to where we are before we start pretending that the President is somehow a foreign policy savant. Because the reality is that the media’s plan to paint Obama as having victories in the foreign policy realm are really nothing more than an attempt to pretend that the economic ineptitude of his administration isn’t a reason to not re-elect him….
Don’t Believe the MSM Hype

The Sad American

As I write this today, I can’t help but feel sad about the country that I love so much and how it’s moral values have gone in the gutter so quickly. There was a time when we were a land of laws and moral values that exceeded anything in history. Now, we are simply becoming another empire that will fail from within, as history will tell it. Anwar al-Awlaki was killed by an American missile. He was said to be a TERRORIST! Another American, Samir Khan, was also reported to have been killed in the drone hit. Both of these men, claimed to have been part of the Al Qaeda terrorist organization are reported as dead. Interestingly, Awlaki has been killed 4 times now, as reported by the media. He was killed a few times in 2009, but that didn’t seem to be enough, so they killed him again. So what is exactly wrong with all of this?

Let’s Start With the Department of Education

I am baffled daily with the ridiculousness that masquerades as the United States Federal Government. I mean, really, is there a better example of elitist ass clowns who bleat on about fixing this and changing that all while completely ignoring all the obvious fixes and changes that need to happen? The debt debate has been a perfect example of the hopelessness that exists when one thinks that any of these fools are in the slightest bit interested in doing what needs to be done in Washington DC. The only thing that is more ridiculous than a DC politicians are the millions of Americans who play along with the charade, believing that this party or that party is really the one trying to fix things and the “other side” is a group of godless heathens intent on ruining the American way of life.
There Are Plenty of Prudent Trimming Options Available

Change that USW Can Believe In

Over the last couple of years, the debate here at SUFA, and realistically across the entire country, has been over federal government spending and the ways to pay for said madness. There are all kinds of statements that get thrown around in this arena. We have the folks on the left, who espouse raising the income tax rate on the top earners in America as a way to increase revenue and help us “get out of the hole we are in.” We have the folks on the right who espouse lowering the tax on top earners as they are the job creators and thus will be the ones to get us out of the hole. And that has been the basic framework of the debate in American politics today. But both sides are equally flawed. And true to the American political spectrum, both sides falsely vilify the other, while neither side wants to admit that it is the drunken Uncle Sam feeling up your cousin that is the real villain…

Angst Against the Tea Party

On Friday, I was working the afternoon away when a co-worker popped into my office and asked a question (work related). I gave him the answer he needed and he then asked if I have been following the debt ceiling debates and madness that is going on in Washington DC. “A little,” I answered with a slight smirk, as I didn’t want to get into a political debate in the workplace. But he pressed on. “These Tea Party people are ruining the country. They are roadblocking getting a bill passed by refusing to agree with either party. Our economy is going to go into the shitter all because of them!” Oh my. What to do? Put him in his place? Say nothing and let another ignorant soul wander the earth? Those who know me well enough know that I had no choice, really. I had to say something…
Of Course… This is the Tea Party’s Fault

Some Second Thoughts

I took note to some of the comments yesterday that some took great offense to the fact that I front-load my arguments and have negative things to say up front about some entities. As a result, I went back and read over my articles of the last several months. I can admit that I have become a bit more combative over the last year. Perhaps that should change. Perhaps not. I will have to ponder it a bit before I decide. But I do want to address a few things that will, I hope, help those of you who take so much offense to my words put things in their proper perspective. Maybe it won’t. I acknowledge that there is a chance I am talking to walls who will see the wrong in other’s statements but never their own.

Don’t Fear Default… Goose and Gander at a National Level

This weekend was a “road trip” weekend for me and my lovely wife. A trip back to my hometown, which also included a detour to Hershey Park so that Mrs. Weapon could experience the wonderful world of chocolate for the first time. What Mecca is to Muslims, Hershey is to 52% of the US population. On the ride north, I listened to a minimal amount of news, instead opting for some music that the USWeapon clan could sing along with on the drive. But I did listen to about an hour of talk radio coverage of the debt ceiling discussions happening in Washington DC. As a result, SUFA gets this article because I am tired of hearing all the bull dookey around the topic.
The Time Has Come for a Reality Check

SUFA Officially Endorses Jack Bauer

I was running through the news this afternoon, just wondering what it was that I was going to write a short article about. Tons of topics available, but most of them were going to take more time than I had available to work on an article. I saw a particular story and chuckled to myself that what I read wasn’t really “news” so much as it was “business as usual.” The article was chronicling the news that, and I know this will stun many of you into wandering the streets and muttering “there’s no place like home”, the nation’s largest teacher’s union has officially endorsed Barack Obama in his bid for President in 2012. First, isn’t it a little early to be endorsing a candidate? And second, does an endorsement actually mean anything anymore?
Does Anyone Rely on Endorsements to Choose for Them Any Longer?

Technically, We Are Legal Ass Clowns

The last week or so has seen a growing call for the President to withdraw participation in the conflict in Libya. These calls, which I certainly echo given my “defensive only” posture on the use of our military forces, are currently being based on the fact that Obama did not seek or receive Congressional approval to conduct this particular military action. Well, in the official answer from the White House this week, we were told that, TECHNICALLY, he doesn’t need Congressional approval for what is happening in Libya. His reasoning is that the war in Libya is too small to require Congressional approval and that United Nations has approved the action anyway.
Enough With the War Actions

But I Killed Bin Laden!

Despite my inability to write regularly lately, I have continued to read along as best I can and to interject comments wherever I found the inclination. One of the things that I read repeatedly over the last few weeks was the notion that the 2012 election is already over. It isn’t a statement that exists in a vacuum here at SUFA. It can be found across the lame-stream media as well. The idea that because Bin Laden was executed on his watch, Barack Obama is unbeatable in 2012. This notion is not well founded, and is in fact ridiculous. The reality is that the only one who can get elected based on killing Bin Laden are members of SEAL Team 6 that went in to that compound and double-tapped that assclown in the cranium. Tonight I offer a short article on why I think that Bin Laden will hardly play into the decisions made by the people in November of 2012.
Obama Has Already Won in 2012? Oy Vey indeed

Reality Check

Hello SUFA! I have found it hard to write articles here that we haven’t already discussed to infinity already. Your a tough crowd to please, and even tougher to convince when it comes to the real tough issues. But that’s what I do, the tough issues. I bring out what is known, documented and factual for all to see. Whether you choose to believe is your mistake, not mine. While I’m generally a fun loving guy, I know when to be serious and hit on the realities that I see, and bring them to you the best I can. I don’t believe everything I hear or read, but I do believe in what people are saying based on the information they are given. Recently, D13 wrote a great article on the Osama bin Laden mission. I believe every word from the good Colonel, his integrity is solid gold in my book. The government, not so much. But when we look back to the past……

Capitalism v Communism

In having some discussions with people over the last few days it has blossomed in my mind the idea that many of those who so vehemently lambast capitalism have no understanding what capitalism actually is. As a result they attack and attack using examples and historical incidents as justification for ending capitalism when those examples are no such justification. So I feel like I have to write this article to clarify that point, to help those who are floundering with those conversations gain some understanding of what my belief is in capitalism. Further it will help those who attack it understand why I refuse to accept the idea that some form of communism/socialism/fascism because it is not only immoral, but is also far worse for any people who aspire to live free.

Horse Thieves

Why do words matter?  I have corrected people several times about Nero fiddling while Rome burned.  False statement in all aspects, fiddle was invented a thousand years later, Nero was not in Rome during the fire, even rushed back and was the driving force behind the recovery. He housed and fed the homeless at his personal expense, and required brick homes to be built as part of a fire prevention policy from that day forward.

Seems funny to me that Nero, who should be given the highest praise, is remembered as an un-caring elitist.  So why does it matter today?  A hero from a thousand years ago is commonly believed to have been an uncaring scumbag.
How Does Nero’s Story Compare to Modern Day Storylines?

If Not Now…. When?

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I watched the countdown to the potential government shutdown last week with a jaded eye. I can touch on what I wanted to happen in a bit, but what I was watching for was to see how much further we would watch the talking heads go in demonizing their opponents and using emotional rhetoric to sway public opinion. I must say, I was not disappointed. As was true with every major policy debate in the political spectrum over the last few years, each side spouted more nonsense than could be fathomed. It’s just proof to all of you: When you set the proper expectations for those in the political landscape, they are very capable of meeting or exceeding your expectations. And BF has the audacity to say that politicians can’t meet our expectations…

Why Gun Control “Common Sense” Scares Me

I perused the news on Sunday morning expecting more of the same coverage of Japan, debates over whether the government is trampling on worker’s “Rights” by limiting collective bargaining, or nonsense about how the Republican Party is frustrated that the Democrats are not taking spending cuts seriously (as if the GOP’s proposed 1% cut was “serious”). Instead I stumbled upon the President’s nifty little Op-Ed on increasing the background check process in order to keep the guns out of the hands of criminals. I have to admit that it angered me. But not simply because it is another attempt to paint the gun control issue as a minor thing. Instead my ire was raised because my wounds were still so fresh. Allow me to explain.

Wednesday Morning Open Mic for February 9, 2011

Back to the open mic topics! I will have to wait and see how my night plays out before I know how this open mic area is going to look in the morning. I have three topics picked out that I want to write about but I am not sure I am going to have the time to write the commentary under the article at the same time. So I will begin to do so and if need be I will post the unfinished ones as articles and then go back and add the comments I have on them in the morning when I can find a few minutes. I will also be trying to see how the open mic works with the new format. It used to be a lot easier to distinguish between different comment threads. But now without the numbering and without the lines designating so it may be more difficult to see the separation between topics. If that becomes the case we will try to figure out a new way! So let me know throughout the day how you are doing with it. I have three topics planned and a fourth if I find time.

Congress Lifts Its Skirt Again

As I seem to be doing on a fairly regular basis at the moment, I must again apologize for the randomness of my posting schedule lately. As it turns out, time is such a limited commodity currently. But soon my tenure as a two job employee will be at an end. There is little doubt that the topic of the day seems to be the deal struck between the President and the Republicans in Congress to extend the Bush tax cuts for all Americans in exchange for an extension of the unemployment benefits for those who need them. I have to say that the world of Washington DC as I know it appears to be “Bizarro World”. The Democrats are lambasting the President and spouting off about standing up for their principles. The Republicans are lambasting the President and spouting off about standing up for their principles. Well, now USWeapon is going to NOT lambast the President and point out the lack of principle in Washington DC. What a bunch of hypocritical children we have in Congress.

Tuesday Night Open Mic for November 30, 2010

Another Tuesday Night comes and that means Open Mic. Please allow me again to thank all of you for your well wishes for my family and especially for your patience over the last couple of weeks. My transition to a new career is challenging to say the least. I am learning a whole new vocabulary and a whole mess of regulatory and procedural madness. I am not out of the woods yet. I will be working both jobs, old and new, until the beginning of January. That means some long days and very few days off. Come January I will no longer work the old job and things will ease up a little bit. But the new job will still have plenty for me to learn. So my time will be limited for quite some time. I will continue to work to post here on a very regular basis. I will say that any guest commentary articles are more than welcome though! I know I have one or two to process and post but the more the merrier! I have four topics below, but there was a fifth one that I wanted to get and ran out of time to look up. I heard on the news tonight that a farmer, I think it may have been in Georgia, was fined for growing food on his own land. If someone could find that article and post it I would be very grateful (even if you just find the link I will try to jump in during the morning and put it into my format and add comments when I have a moment). I would like to have some discussion on that topic as well! As always, feel free to pull forward your discussions that you might be continuing from the last article.

What I Think the Voters Said on Tuesday

Now that we have had a week or so to digest the results of the 2010 mid-term elections, it is time to begin the process of evaluating what exactly happened and what it means for the next two years. The most obvious result to look at is the massive swing of power in the House of Representatives. The Republicans gained over 60 seats during this election, giving them power in the House and reducing the Democrat control in Washington to only two of the three important bodies. But the real question remains what this election power shift is really going to mean over the next two years, and possibly beyond. Another important question is what happened that enabled the Republicans to sweep so many seats from the other side of the aisle to their own. Finally, what message did we get out of the lopsided victories by two incumbents, Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel, who are clearly shown as corrupt and crooked and who face ethics panel trials as soon as Congress returns from the election break? I will offer my thoughts on all of the above…
Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall

The Taxation Contradiction

I was reading through some different articles over the weekend, hoping to find something interesting to comment on, when I happened to stumble upon a series of several articles in a row dealing with taxation. The articles had nothing to do with one another. They just all happened to have taxation in some form or another as the main topic. Each taken on its own painted a picture in support of this plan or that. And all were, in general, the intentions or sales pitches from the Democrat point of view. But my random order of articles revealed to me a disturbing double standard in from the White House in their message. No, double standard isn’t correct. Contradiction fits better. Two articles that I read back to back in particular drew my attention to the contradiction, which I am ashamed to say that I never put together before. It seems that the White House, specifically the President, believes that we should reward the wealthy who conduct business in the US, while at the same time stating that those who are wealthy in America should be taxed higher than they are…

Tuesday Night Open Mic for October 12, 2010

A hearty good evening (or morning as it may be in reality as I am writing this at almost 3:00 am). I will again be keeping it short this evening as I am still having a bit of trouble typing at my usual rate of speed. I have thus far determined that they wrist is not broken. Instead it must be something in the joint or tendons or something. It can hold weight just fine, I just cannot turn the wrist or move it quickly without pain. I also have the big event this week at work: The release of a new product that will revolutionize the industry yet again. Very exciting times, and very busy times as I have all the bigwigs at my location for launch on Thursday. So tonight I will be adding only two articles to start and hoping to add more as the day goes on tomorrow (although I cannot promise). As always, feel free to add any topics that you want to discuss. It’s all fair game….
