Facebook Becomes Job Killer

Here we are back at a lovely Monday morning. Is it me or do the weekends move entirely too fast? Now that I have a new schedule that allows me to spend more time with Mrs. Weapon, it seems like we get to doing stuff and before I know it the weekend is gone. But I did get a lot accomplished. I attended the gun show here locally, which was a lot of fun. And both of our vehicles are sparkly clean, which was way overdue. In keeping with what I am transitioning to, I present another article that won’t be too overly long. I will still have the occasionally long article where needed, but stuff like this where I pull an article and give some quick thoughts or ideas to spark debate will become more common. And of course we will start seeing more of the articles from the new SUFA writing staff! This week I am planning on having BF, G-Man, and possibly LOI all presenting articles! Exciting!

Tuesday Night Open Mic for January 4, 2011

Open mic night comes again and I get the opportunity to finally stand up for my previous company in a way that I was unable to previously, as you will see below. I do so because, first, what was said was factually incorrect, and second, because I kept a lot of people quiet on the promise that I would address it. So I really hope my target for the day doesn’t get upset with me for calling it out 🙂 . I am trying over the next couple of weeks to really get more settled into my regular routine again as I will be done with that previous company in two more weeks and now just have to adjust to different working hours. However, as I mentioned the other day, I will be requiring surgery at some point in the coming weeks and that could render me useless for a day or two (which some folks may argue is no change at all!). But for now, I write on into the new year. I think there are some good topics below and of course I welcome any topics that others may want to add. I will try to check in throughout the day and join in the discussion.

Tuesday Night Open Mic for September 28, 2010

We come to the open mic night on the heels of a good conversation around public education. I would like to once again thank GrafZeppelin127 for taking the time to write an article that was interesting and excellently written, and then for also coming by and participating in the conversation around the article. I hope that he will find time in the future to write for us again here at SUFA, and further that he will find time to drop in now and then and participate in other conversations. I will not be available to write an article for Wednesday night and perhaps Thursday. If that is the case I intend to post one on Friday night. I will be trying to do one Thursday night though. For tonight’s open mic topics we have Pelosi perhaps losing support from her peers as Speaker of the House, an interesting poll on where voters get their information, Colbert going to Congress, and the US government looking for even more access to private communications in order to “protect the citizens.” I look forward to the conversations!

Tuesday Night Open Mic for July 13, 2010

We arrive at open mic off of a couple of nights of what I felt were good topics but somewhat limited discussions around them. I know I have been a little more edgy the last couple of nights (I prefer the term passionate, lol). Did that scare some people away from having some tough discussions? I have found myself frustrated this week with politics as I watch the idiots in Washington DC continue to go down paths of destruction. That has caused me to be, shall we say, blunt. I didn’t really back off of that on tonight’s topics either! I hope folks aren’t finding me so abrasive that they are shunning SUFA! For tonight’s topics I offer a bit of Al Franken’s election being exposed as a fraud, Europe increasing their invasion into privacy rights, the IMF telling the US to cut Social Security, and the FCC getting smacked down by the courts over a censorship rule. As always, it is open mic so feel free to add whatever topics you would like to talk about. The next post for the week will be Kent’s guest commentary on Thursday night so we have two days to discuss stuff here. I will also be going back and adding to the discussions from Monday and Tuesday. So fire away!

Silencing His Critics?

internet-shutting-down-nowSo I saw yet another news story hit today, and being the skeptic that I have become, I immediately saw this as another part of a massive set-up. Now as many of you know, I am not a fan of conspiracy theories. It isn’t that I don’t think these things are possible, it is just that I don’t devote time on my blog to them much because there are lots of places where you can go do that. And what I am trying to do here is more education and rallying the troops for what may come. What I am doing is providing information that you can take, process, and decide for yourself what it means to you and what you are going to do about it. I do intend at some point to use every one of you to help form a plan. But we are still building the network here and learning and figuring everything out. As you saw in the upcoming articles, there is going to be significant debate and introspective thought upcoming.
Am I Getting Worried About Nothing
